Very nice investigation. This should be looked on by somebody in Anet.
But have in mind that not all suggestions are viable. And even for those that are, is not as easy as to just implement it. They need to make a impact analisys and gather to try of address any exploit that might come out of that decisition.
Remember it is a product that will come out to the hands of literally millions of people that constantly try to break it and will complaint about it.
As simple as a change might seem, is not as easy as to say “hey, this is cool, lets implement it.” Its a whole process. And often, the person who gives the suggestion is unaware of what the changes might implie.
Well…slaying ONE THOUSAND rare and nowhere to be found Giants would be a real ACHIEVMENT. Haha, get it guys, get it?
…
Really like your ideas lori, especially points 3 and 4. The thing is that if they do hold for half a day, then what’s left to do for the next party that comes along? Fix walls?
I play in Sorrow’s furnace and the other day I decided to go further than the Cursed Coasts (I have run the zergs various times and I honestly find it very boring). I was expecting zero players in that zone, luckily I found some, enough to make a party. But lets be real here for a second: it is really unthinkable for such an AWESOME zone to be empty. There were 20 or so players scaterred in the land, which I find to be a little too few.
Event chains like Malchor’s are events that define Gw2. Something must be done to atract players to the depths of Orr.
Maybe have some Asura scientists across the land that give you some kind of magical GPS device on which you could see like blue dots on your map the location of every player in a defined radius. (haha, that would be freaking awesome).
hahahaha, nice!
“Look what I found” achievement unlocked.
My husband and a friend and I were in the same overflow server (as in, didn’t leave or bounce around or go to main) from about 11:45 PST to 12:30 PST. In that time, I eventually found the trebuchet being built, stood and watched it for a while as they “completed” it… and nothing happened. No one on map chat saw a single Karka, let alone this Ancient one that people are referencing. And then the zone event changed to “Go to Southsun Cove”… so everyone in our Overflow missed out entirely on what was supposed to be a big epic enemy of some sort, right?
ArenaNet, that stinks. :-( I woke up early since I was too excited about the event to sleep in any longer, and while the new zone is cool, I feel really frustrated that I was in the right place at the right time and still didn’t get to see the big reveal there. :-(
Same here. A dry tear dropped from my eye.
My bad. It was in my inventory all the time.
Hi. I was trying to do Gukumatz alchemy and I got to a point where he won’t give me any more containers. My dialog was changed to:
“I’m stuck. Pretend I know nothing and tell me where to start.”
After I click that he won’t give me a pot. Tried doing it multiple times, 30 or so and nothing.
Please look into this, I don’t want to be left out.
Thanks.
Are you saying you go through CM without dying? haha, film it. Then I’ll believe.
You can’t lure them, you pull one, even with scorpion wire and they all jump into you. You can’t run away, they will just turn back and reunite again.
If there’s a video of an organized group making these impossible run look possible, then I’ll delete this thread. But I doubt I’m that bad at this game.
As most of you know, due to the insane state of dungeons right now, it is impossible for all players to complete a dungeon without dying at least a tonelade of times.
I find myself fighting these gangs that simply steam roll you. You can’t fight them one at a time. You can’t defeat them all at the time. The only strategy is to do some damage, die, and rush back. Do this n times and they will eventually die. That is very dissapointing and frustrating in my opinion. Death should not be a requisit for a dungeon.
And for worse, that is the advance strategy. If by any chance you go in with a random group you will end up not finishing it because everybody quits and with 20 coins less in repairs. No one wants to go in with strangers and is killing the dungeons.
Places like Caudecus mansion are just ridiculous, with 25 monsters gang in one place, packed with 200k hp and enough power to kill a toughness build in 4 hits.
I think the best way to fix this is to add Easy, Normal and OMGwhatisthis (current state) modes. If you guys have a team for doing this, I encourage you to play a couple hours of Dungeons and Dragons Online. Because they got the dungeons just about right.
I’ve played almost all dungeons now and…to be honest…its been a pain…and thats terrible since dungeons are so fresh and well done. Let us enjoy them.
Thieves/assassins aren’t always about sneaking. A major part of infiltration is sometimes just blending in to get close to a target. A cover as a waiter, cleaner, or butler will often able to gain access to secure targets more easily than someone trying to sneak in.
And I agree with Riot Inducer. Snow Leopard emphasises stealth, and what some would consider “unethical”, but is natural for a sneaky hunter. The story in A Spirit of Legend is a good example.
I remember the 1st I read this…
Norn Thief all the way in for me man…
You know…if they just set the NPCs to die and respawn every couple hours, we wouldn’t have this issue.
Although…they have to prevent it from happening while on an actual DE, it would be really lol if they died in the middle of a fight and repawned back to their original place for no aparent reason.
Maybe, die if the event takes more than 30mins?
Mhmmm….
I understand there could be an issue if they use another method for buying upgrades, since it could become a golem’s war for example instead of a people’s war. But really, I find myself not going to WvW just because everytime I go there I have to invest a ridiculous amount of coins. Might it be on upgrades, siege weapons or in armor repairing (oh God the armor repairing in WvW).
I mean, I’m having struggle to carry enough money to survive on my daily basis. I can’t go to WvW just because I’m too poor.. and that Anet… is just wrong.
You can’t have fun if every time you die you are calculating in your head how much the repairing fee has grown by now. Keep the siege weapons costs, but for the love of God, quit or reduce the repairing fee. We are fighting zergs here and they kill us without mercy. Have you mercy on our pockets!
What’s your suggestion on approaching this issue mate?
I came here specifically to report this. It actually have been over a week since I 1st came around this issue, at leats on Sorrow’s Furnace.
Im 98% of this map and players are gathering by dozens around Tigh and his assistant waiting for him to go look for those cattles (lazy punk) or the scientist to actually fire some people up. Please look into this.
Thanks.
