They definitely will not be so hard that they require achievements, as you will be able to complete every collection. Judging by what has been said in interviews, the precursor collections are inspired from the luminescent armor collections and mawdrey scavenger hunt. The collections would likely take you to many places throughout all of Tyria.

I would be suprised if it takes less than 100 hours per precursor. After all its one quarter of a legendary. If you believe this will be a matter of a handful hours per precursor you are probably in for a nasty surprise.

I bet the precursor collections will look similar to the luminescent armor collections, just at least 2 magnitudes harder/more time consuming.
Doing all Events on Tyria will never happen because Living Story keeps adding and removing events.

It is definitely doable, but the way to complete the achievement is way out of line compared to all the other achievements in this category where you have multiple options to do them all over Tyria.
In GW1 you met giants all the time, for some reason in GW2 there are barely any left

I doubt it, they would have announced such a large feature. Its quite a huge task to rework all episodes of S1 into solo instances. I would be suprised if it ever happens tbh.

Auto balance seems like a stupid idea to me. Its not a structured pvp where it has to be balanced.

I know of that event, but its a pain to find people for it to scale it up high enough to be worth it.
For 1000 kills you still need 41 hours if you kill 6 giants per event every 15min. And it needs quite a bunch of people to scale it up that high I think.

That is a colossus and not just a giant.

I hope the expansion maps will contain a few giants. Currently the kill 1000 giant slayer achievement is way out of line with the other slayer achievements.

You’re all making a big deal about something that was implemented because the playerbase asked for. Now youre complaining on how they did it. Its not like they wrecked the window for it like they did with the trait window update. And yes i prefered the old trait window and im not alone.

Uncapping everything wont work. Some things give a lot easier AP than others. What would you do? Salvaging a few thousand items or craft a 2nd legendary you already owned before for 25 AP? It makes all hard and time consuming achievements useless if you have easy uncapped achievements. Unless of course the hard/time consuming achievements would give insane AP, lets say 25,000 instead of 25 for Twice told Legend.

I hope Gaile Gray will come in and tell us wether its a combined cap or if dailies are 15k now + the old monthly AP.

It still shows 10k daily AP on my main account + 2595 monthly. So they did not merge it.

The new 10 AP comes from the daily completion after the patch. The Monthly is still shown below the daily.

Well that would be a bad solution. Why didnt they add the montly to the daily AP? Looks very ugly to have 2595 monthly AP.
How hard can it be to add up 2 variables and delete the obsolete one. Thats a less than 10min work beginner task for programmers.
I hope this is just a quick and dirty temporary fix and not the final solution for this.

EDIT: I just checked my other accounts with 0 monthly AP and it does not show monthly AP for them anymore. Too bad they didnt take the extra effort to fix this for accounts with more than 0 monthlies.

Could also mean we can get a full 5k more AP instead of just 2.5k.

Which would ruin all hope of having at least the top 100 of achievement points in a competive state. And also ruin all reason for me to buy all the black lion weapons (read less money for Anet) if I cant catch up to rank 1 anyway.

Are you assuming this other person was earning Daily APs when you were not? Seems unlikely, but…I guess you could always ask them. /shrug

Ugh. There were exploits which let you earn additional daily and monthly points, one of the reason why the caps were added. I dont know who abused them and how much, but they existed and were only fixed a couple of months ago.

Competition in the leaderboard? I am in top 10 so its important to me.
I hope its just a visual thing and daily+monthly are indeed capped at 15k. The main difference between me and the rank 1 guy are about 200 AP difference in monthlies. So it would be a dealbreaker if it would be otherwise.
In that case it would have been better to keep the monthlies so we both would have hit the 5k monthly cap eventually.

Well I partially need to redact the first part of my disappointment. The daily cap has been increased, but the monthlies did not have been merged (at least visually). Not sure if this is just a visual issue or if its 15k daily + whatever your monthly was now.
Also I am a bit disappointed that all the extra daily AP I earned in the months since I reached 10k cap have been deleted and did not carry over into the new cap
Now people who did the dailies after patch have another 10 AP advantage until I hit the new cap.

I am disappointed with this patch.
The daily / monthly achievements are still not merged. Why did you remove monthlies over a month before merging the AP? Looks like a bad decision to me.

Also the daily login reward track is in an ugly spot in the achievement menu making it a lot less convenient to use. The important stuff is at the bottom now, while the least interesting information is on the top. Please revert this change and put the login rewards somewhere else..
