I agree, this looks like it will be the worst season so far. Season 1 still looked best to me.

The top 250 titles better do not give any achievement points, since only a hard capped amount of people can get them and it will be harder to get there on EU than NA.

Dude, you realize mes and thieves are designed around this very mobility you complain about? The whole reason why Anet butchered thief on first place is because they can lol +1 and decap. What do you think Anet would do to thieves if your suggestions would be implemented lol? We would have wars with stealth xD

Thief would still be viable with less mobility, it has insane single target damage. And a skill which makes people skip downed state and also ignores map mechanics like the guaranteed rezz on the coliseum map.
Same with mesmer, insane burst damage potential or tanky with condi spec.

The API does not get developed any further at the moment (Lawton if gone again for an unknown amount of time again, probably months), so it can take a long time until the skirmish stuff gets implemented.

Hylek poison (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Pot_Of_Hylek_Poison) has a large bug which allows players to remove invulnerability from enemies with it. So you can use all kind of abuse with NPCs that turn invulnerable such as Giganticus Lupicus and prevent him from going into the next phase.

standing for hours in towers and scouting was one of the most boring, unrewarding and time wasting activity you could do in this game, so I am glad Anet gave us the opportunity to remove the need for scouts in towers.
Crafting a watchtower tactivator costs 2-3g, so it is not exactly for free either

There are players who like to defend and tend to stay on maps doing just that, including build and maintaining siege for those attacks. It’s not like white or orange swords don’t exist. If you don’t like to scout, you don’t have to.

People kept asking to split zergs up, but then they added something that hampered small groups and encouraged zerging instead. GG.

the majority of players seems to like playing in large groups. Personally I prefer playing with blobs with 50+ players, too.

You absolutely should be able to take a T3 structure with 5 or less if it’s undefended.
1 smart defender in a t3 structure can hold off 5 players for hours. Blobbing shouldn’t be the only way to play wvw, that is a big part of why wvw is in such a kittenty unbalanced place.

How should he do it? He can’t build siege on his own which isn’t easily destroyed by the attackers. The walls are easier to attack from below than defendable from above.

And no, you should not take an unguarded keep with 5 people. Taking a keep isn’t 5 player content. It’s content for large groups. And Anet shouldn’t make wvw even more rewarding for small groups. It already is rewarding enough running roaming groups.

You absolutely should be allowed to do so if you are skilled enough. There shouldn’t be a minimum player requirement for taking structures in WvW yet it sounds as if you would like there to be.

WvW is already far more rewarding for being in a brainless zerg, and you want to further decrease the attractiveness of smaller groups by taking away their ability to cap upgraded structures? If a 5 player team can do it then by all means they should be allowed to do so. It will already take them longer to get through the walls since they can’t drop 10 catas and have them fully built and people on them in 30 seconds. So if you don’t get there in time its on you, not them.

Obviously I can’t comment whether illegal runs cause legal repercussions or what even is a “legit record”. But at least gw2dungeons rules don’t disallow it so this is approved.

That is cool for your site, but maybe it is also why very few people care about records because gw2dungeons is allowing way too many exploits

Its amazing, players want to get all the titles with no stress and no risk.
I think anet in the future will start to give titles just for us to log in.
There is no prestige at all anymore in anything in gw2 imo.
I got the legendary wings since season 2 , and u know what , i not even use them, because there is 0 prestige and everybody feels he should get it with no efford, there was 4 season to get it and some didnt , so they start to “cry” because was too hard or blame the macth making"
I feel in gw2 there is 0 prestige in the titles and everything is so easy to get , that its not interesting anymore.

It is rare that I agree with Prince Vingador (I have him on my blocklist ingame), but he is telling the truth here

Awesome news.

If folks really get their panties in a twist over something as nonsensival as a “sense of prestige” over achievements that were not hard to get but were short-lived, just make the titles non-returning. Few enough folks actually use titles for it to matter.

Though, TBH, PvP gets enough prestige titles with their seasonal new title…

Actually you nailed it, we (anet) need two kinds of achiefments, those for causal everyone can easily get (the achiefments that where difficult because of the timelimit) and a few new hardcore achiefments! They could be even idebtical for most maps, and give some finisher/title for those few that really got the skill to earn them (instead of time)

some ideas for those;
Win the game, even when you where at least 200 pounts behind the other team
Win a game without owning close
Win a game without owning two points at the same time
Own 3 ponts 80% of the game
Win when nobody dies of your team
Win a game when nobody dies from the enemys
Win a game with 2 AFK (total personal points of those pkayers 0)

Niflhel;
steal all creatures (steal, do max 10% of the total damage but still get them)
Win when the enemy took all creatures

Temple;
Win without getting any buffs

Sounds like some of your suggestions would created unintended player behaviors…

Making these achievements permanent is is really lame. They should be a reward for beta testing your maps.
Also the requirements for these achievements (25 wins being the hardest part) is really low for a permanent achievement. If it is permanent all requirements should be at least 10 times higher.

250 wins? Oh heck no. Not everyone who plays these maps is a hardcore PvPer and getting 250 represents a major grind.

Not mention some of the others. You’d want people to get 1500 kills? The Slayer achievement asks for 2000. A single map would then be 75% of that.

If they did alter the requirements then double would be more reasonable, but TBH I’d prefer the current setup. If all maps eventually have a set of achievements then it might not easy to get the map I’m currently working on since it would be RNG to be 1 of 4 choices when I have more than 4 maps in rotation.

You call it grind, I call it effort and having stuff to do that cannot be completed in one weekend.
Considering there is an achievement for 10k total wins, 250 wins per map seems totally reasonable to me.
250*40 = 10k, so there could even be 40 maps worth of achievements and you barely reach 10k wins.

(look what happened to the starter zones when anet did that to those champs…maps once full for the champ trains became instantly empty).

The trouble with the champ trains was that map chat was full of people bickering and arguing about who ‘owns’ what champions and who isn’t allowed to kill a champ on their own because a train is entitled to kill them. This being in a starter zone was very toxic for players who first started the game. It’s not a good impression, so sorry, but the Queensdale champ train being taken away was a welcome change from me.

They should maybe increase the reward to motivate people to do them more often

If they increased the reward for said champs, I would endorse it if it did guarantee that it’d increase participation. But I doubt it would happen given that there are better ways to gain loot these days than killing the champs we’re discussing here. (Especially the AB chest farm thingy that I’m hearing so much about).

I’m not asking for easier content. I’m asking for content to be scaled for more probable participation. The difficulty can remain the same, just doable for fewer people.

It’d probably be more difficult, given that a champ with 50 people turning up, all you need is to repeatedly press 111111111111 (like in your ‘challenging’ Queensdale champ train). A scaled down champ with 3 or 4 people turning up there’d actually be some skill involved with a few dodges.

It already is doable for any amount of people. But the fewer people around the more personal effort you have to put in. If there are 3 people around you are 33% of the crowd. If there are 50 people around you are 2% of the crowd. So you cannot rely on other people carrying you if there are fewer people around.

I just don’t understand what Anet was thinking with this one. There are already toggles for Head and Shoulders. Why should Feet be so special that having bare feet requires so much effort?

I think that every clothing slot should be a toggle. But now if they make feet a toggle those who went to all this trouble might be upset. Maybe Anet can give them something in compensation.

Just make all clothing slots a toggle Anet.

Or just up the droprate x100 so the price stabilizes between 3 and 10g.

This would allow those who enjoy the activity to continue as they choose and nobody would have to worry about leaderboard ground gain.

Are you saying that the Achievement chests are tied to your Leaderboard position? Because the two are completely separate things.

No, but simply forfeiting the leaderboard is not enough to me, you should also have to forfeit progress to the achievement point skins and titles to not devalue them.
It would not be fair if those people who want those 3650 extra AP per year get the prestige stuff potentially years earlier just because they opted out of something they do not care about (according to earlier posters in this topic).

So solo capping towers or keeps should guarantee exotic with a high chance for ascended drops. Each additional player that helps should lower that chance by about 10% until you hit the current drop rate (should never be 0% chance).

Some people would go “kitten OFF, I want my rewards”.

Yes, it would against Anet’s philosphy that you should never be unhappy to see other players around.

Not to mention people who play at off hours where there are no defenders and you can easily solo towers get rewarded more.

Some people also use afk macros to not get logged out.

Either way your WvW grind is not completed until you have all WvW achievements done :P

I dont think the demand is big, but the supply is redicilous low for something that should be a simple toggle like for other armor parts. They are probably amongst the rares drop in the game together with Chak Egg Sacks. And all that for just being allowed to hide your boot skins.

I dont think Anet could do that easily without going through all the logs. When they merged the 10k daily cap and the 5k monthly cap, it did not give you any AP retroactively. So the game most likely does not even keep track of them.

A private tag only visible to those in the squad would be nice too.

You can buy badges of tribute, sell them on trading post and buy tag.
30s per tribute
300g / (0,3*0,85) = 1177 badges of tribute
So you can already trade 35295 badges of honor for a commander tag

Why do people who bought a Mini Karka and want a Rocket Backpack dont deserve the reward as a possible unlock while people who bought a Rocket Backpack and want the Mini Karka have a chance to get it ?!

As someone that worked a long while to gather the gold needed to buy the two very expensive Karka minis and never got lucky enough to get the molten bp to drop, I have to agree here. Fortunately, I never committed them to the wardrobe so I could actually get dupes essentially for free.

By the way, are minis unlocked this way tradable or account bound by default?

I can’t say for absolute certain, but since they’re specifically called wardrobe unlocks, I assume you don’t even get a physical item out of them. It just unlocks something in your wardrobe and you get the little “Skin Unlocked” prompt on the side of the screen. You can’t sell things from your wardrobe.

Correctly, it goes automatically to your wardrobe.

Trap ranger afk farm spot

A new afk farm spot got to my attention over the last few days while doing ember bay dailies. Basically trap rangers stand on a rock where rolling devils cannot hit them, but their traps which are on auto cast damage the quickly respawning rolling devils.
There are usually 1-3 rangers afk farming whenever I go to that place and I report them for botting + trigger the ley line event to make those rolling devils despawn for some minutes. But maybe you can find a better fix to make this afk farm less worthwhile.

option1) No matter what you attached to the poll the one that has more loot is always going to win. It like asking if you want to keep the current system or add multimap looting like you have in AB. No one voted for this because it had clean up or or improvements. (not saying not one person did but majority read
“more loot that’s what I want”) This is also going to promote Ktrain and blobs.

option 2) Higher pop server in t1/t2 don’t want this system and have the majority of the WvW players. So it’s not going to get voted for. I mean having movement would be great.

The poll should have ask if players would like:

option 1) a 1 up 1 down system with a short explanation
option 2) Glicko scoring adjusting with a short explanation

I’m in T1 and I’d love for them to give 1 up 1 down a try. But the problem is these polls are pointless when they don’t put any limitations on who is allowed to vote. They let PvE players that have no interest in the overall health of the game vote, they’ll only show up when their server is winning so why not vote for better rewards for the little time they spend in WvW?
And if you look at Mal’s sig in the first response to this thread you’ll see he has 30 accounts, he’s against a 1 up 1 down system and he can vote 30 times against it. That will actually make a decent impact on a poll where 67% of the people who have looked at it have chosen not to vote.

They shouldn’t let people vote unless they have achieved a certain rank in WvW, this cuts down on the alt account voting and it makes sure the people who are voting have a good understanding of the game mode and how the changes will affect it.

I could vote 30 times, but in reality I will not. At least so far I only voted once in every poll (Anet can check if they want).

seriously why do u care if others got it w/o reaching legend, its just a title. just look at those players who use those title with doubt if they earn it and move along. u might say it removes the value of the title but that value is base on others perception. i still rock my primordial legend title, or legendary champion because those sound better for me. but your right anet cant keep making same mistakes like this because if so why even bother pvping to get to legend.

I care because it is the exclusive reward for reaching legend in season 3. It took me a lot of effort to get it. Why should people who didnt put in the effort to reach legend get it.

Agreed, though id never wear the title, it does devalue it and isn’t fair to players that earned it, it would also be an easy fix for Anet since even you can view your ranking of last season in game.

They have all the data for sure, you can view your season results for s1,2,3 and 4 via the API.
It just boils down to if Anet cares about the integrity of their pvp mode.

EDIT: People now got their season 4 titles, but people still have their non earned s3 titles.
EDIT2: Sadly the recent patches did nothing to fix the title. Looks like the integrity of season rewards is worth zero to anet
EDIT3: It is now several months after the bug occured and still no word on this bug getting fixed. I am starting to become disgruntled about the silence for this bug.

Too bad it is too late to remove those unreleased items now. Some people got it now and it would be unfair to patch it out now for the people who got unlucky getting it already. So I would vote against removing unreleased items from it.
Myself I got a Mini Mushroom Stomper. It was not ingame so far, it is not even in the API.

I don’t care at all about the leaderboard or anyone else’s place on it. I don’t respect (or disrespect) any player because of their AP (what a silly concept). What I want is to be making steady, reasonable daily progess towards each next chest. Because after all, that’s the point of getting AP. It’s reaching the next chest or the next title. If ANet doesn’t give the AP points that allow this, (and they don’t. They’ve been miserly on event AP) then after you reach cap the chests are extremely far between. 10 points a day plus the content points was very reasonable progress, but then ANet decided to favor the completionists who begged for ANet to control them since they couldn’t control themselves. In doing so they affected all the players who can control themselves.

But after the 15k cap was put in the game the dailies were changed to 10 points max. And this max means that the 15k cap is pointless as the dailies themselves are now capped so that completionists have the cap there to keep them from needing to do all dailies.

I think ANet needs to reconsider the 15k cap. The reason it was put in has been removed with the 10 AP daily max and they should also consider that it’s affecting most strongly those who have been the longest, and I could argue, the most loyal players. And maybe a cap that affects your most loyal players isn’t what is good for the game.

People like me collected achievements before achievement reward chests were introduced. They were only added some time AFTER release because a lot of people complained that AP were pointless for them. New chests were added step by step as people reached certain milestones. If I remember correctly I had about 9k AP before the chests were introduced.
So I see no reason why Anet should start catering to people who view AP merely as a reward track. Start seeing them as a tiny bonus for the thousands of hours of dedication to get to the higher AP levels instead of it being a reward track. If you think you run out of achievements ask Anet to add more achievements instead of changing the daily AP nonsense which never should have existed to begin with.

The achievement leaderboard shows a lot more than you think. And again as said earlier Anet never said the AP cannot be played as a competition.

People who were not around since the start can never catch up, so yes it isn’t a competition. There are so many points for LS1 for example that anyone that missed it can’t achieve. The achievement point leaderboard is a measure of nothing because no one can catch up unless they were there for every single opportunity from the start.

Maybe remove all the achievement points that are no longer obtainable from everyone as well as the daily and monthly and make the leaderboard a true competition.

It wouldnt be a competition in your definition then either because everyone in the front page of the leaderboard would be tied.
I guess that is what you want, maximum rewards for minimum efforts and everyone be the same.

Leaderboards don’t want competition. They want Special Snowflake status to justify inflated play time. If it’s not a competition, why does a leaderboard exist? If the leaderboard is useless, delete it. If the leaderboard should exist, then perhaps it needs to be purged monthly and old AP banked to prevent being a part of it. That would spur some real competition.

The leaderboards would have more competition if Anet would add more achievements (both skill requirement and grind requirement) that it becomes humanely impossible to do everything. Otherwise as I said earlier everyone who competes at the top will be tied if you remove historical AP. There are only a handful of permanent achievements which prevent you from completing all permanent achievements in a few month to a year, especially if you open your wallet and trade gems to gold.
Sadly the reality is different. Anet is so slow at adding new achievements that many top players only miss historical achievements, 250k kills in WvW and 5k/10k wins in pvp.
I view the leaderboard as an iron man of GW2 and not a 100m race. It shows who has the most dedication and endurance to complete as many things as possible since release of the game. As people give up / quit more people who missed a greater amount of historical achievements will enter the top.

Not to mention a lot of historical achievements were more difficult than existing achievements. Especially for stuff like reaching legendary in specific seasons, 5 AP for many hours of effort. But also many others such as the marionette achievements or aetherblade dungeon achievements

Ahh but see say someone started playing in say November 2013, they can never catch up even if they play 18 hours a day because so many points are no longer obtainable.

I didn’t say anything about being rewarded so I’m not sure where you got that from. I’m simply stating that the leaderboard is not something that can be a competition because there are historical points no longer available even if they were difficult to obtain. Players that were not there at the time and maybe up for say your legendary challenge can’t get to compete because it isn’t available to them.

So I say remove all historical achievement points that can no longer be earned from players as well as the daily achievement points. Seems fair to me if they want to make the leaderboard mean something. Otherwise just scrap the leaderboard because it is only a measure at the top of players that were there for temporary achievements and doesn’t invite competition from newer players.

It is their own fault (or bad luck if they were too young) if they started playing the game late. Now they have to wait for the early players to quit hunting AP if they want to compete at the very top. Otherwise top 1000 is possible without historic AP. It is only fair that people who played since release and played historical content have an advantage in every aspect.

Fractal Reliquary issue

It gives the title Fatebreaker, so I guess it is intended to be a difficult feat to get the collection done without buying anything. Seems fine to me the way it is.
It is also in the “Rare collection” category, so expected to be difficult if some basic collections cost 100s of gold already.

I could care less about the title, but more about the reliquary. How is it fine for this crap to cost more than a legendary?

And on top of that, it has nothing to do with fractals…at all. It only has fractal in its name. But have fun buying that salvaged essence that costs 3000 gold. Not to mention there’s only one on the tp.

Of course it is fine that it costs more than a legendary, it is a completly optional item. I care about the prestige of the title and the collection, not this useless reliquiary.
I would prefer moving the reliquiary to another achievement than making this achievement easier, but I think it is unneccessary.

Remove the cap or remove daily achievement points and get rid of the achievement point leaderboard. That board really doesn’t show much. Achievement points are not a competition so there is no reason to keep it. I don’t think most players even look at it or even care so they might as well just junk it.

So I say it is the otherway around: AP are not a reward track, AP reward chests got only added because people complained about AP not being rewarding
And a lot of people look at the leaderboard, because when I join pug groups there are almost always people who recognize me and know my leaderboard ranking.
