Another matchup 4v5 from start (Vingador was on my team, too) and we could do nothing but waste 10mins in spawn place. I refuse to do more than getting 5-10 personal score for rewards if it is 4v5.

Did anyone notice changes in the ecto salvage rate?
Just salvaged 52 rares and got 35 ectos. Thats 0.67 per salvage

My guess is it will become an ascended ring with a new aura infusion in it. The price of the strange rock should go down a bit when the skritt contracts become available again.

Ascended ring with 4 stages? Sounds pretty bad to me considering ascended rings are the easiest ascended equipment to get. 99% chance it will be legendary.

That would be bad. There was a time when I made my money from salvaging and selling ectos. All dropping the salvage rate will do is depress the rare item market because a factor in their current price is their worth in salvage. It’ll take time for the ecto supply to drain enough for it’s price to recover.

As long as 100s of people can farm 50 ectos within 30min every 2 hours it will drop. There is only so much you can do with ectos and other items start to become the bottlenecks of the economy.

Know what? Back in the day we’ve had the best fights ever: “Banner the Lord!!!” “Timer Garri: 0.10 SPAAAM!”

I really wish those days back. *sigh

And I don’t mind the health of the SM Lord at all and it does scale, not that accurate though, maybe it still scales to friendly blobs as well or all enemies which in a 3 way SM fight is rather bad, but in the end it doesn’t matter that much whether or not the Lord is dead, the only important thing is to keep the ring free which is not that easy.

Yes you cannot sneakingly flip SMC anymore if lord takes 2 minutes to kill while making huge orange cross everyone can see on the map.

Server merges instead of linkings are the solution.
Server communities can never establish if people get rotated in and out every 1 or 2 months.

This might be the best solution in the end. Like i said in post above, there is a lot of community rotation going on, i can’t even track guilds on my server+linking server.

I have a question for you, how do you control the bandwagon when everything is merged? If you can’t control the bandwagon, wouldn’t everything return to pre-hot eventually? Does that make sense to you?

Does not make sense to me. Less servers = more activity on all servers = less reason to bandwagon.
The reason people bandwagon is that they want a server with 24/7 action not small scale boredom.
And noone going to invest into building a server community if people get rotated in and out every 1 or 2 months. Too much administrative effort.

The only change SMC might need is to reduce the health of the lord. It takes ages to kill. Before HoT it only had like 230k health and didnt scale. It needs to go back to that.

There is an issue with the Skritt Worker Contracts that will be addressed as soon as possible. In the meantime, we have temporarily disabled the contracts.

So they went on strike?

Yeah, some people found a loophole in their contract that allowed them to avoid paying the skritt workers for their labor. The skritt have gone on strike until a new contract can be negotiated.

You really just don’t see any improvement from an i7 over an i5 in games. The money is better spent elsewhere or saved if gaming is your goal

You will see improvements if the game can use multiple threads or if you are multitasking on your computer. Like watching a stream, browsing with dozens of tabs, gaming, teamspeak, skype etc all at the same time.

Ah, so it is an achievement that is hidden ingame even after completion, because I was unable to locate it.

Is it the same for Challenger of the Arena, Soldier of the Arena, Veteran of the Arena, Master of the Arena and Legend of the Arena? They are legacy pvp titles that were awarded via items

I think the invisible boots are too rare considering the only thing they do is hide your boots. It should have 10% droprate.
I am not going to pay thousands of gold or farm thousands of “treasure” mushrooms just to hide my boots. Something that should have been a simple tick box like helmet shoulder, gloves and backpack.
Worst of all the price is only going up because most people already gave up on farming these “treasure” mushrooms. Since they are not even remotely worth the time it takes to kill them.

You can use teleport-to-friend to gain access to the bits of the JP needed to reach the tokens.

The achievement is completely optional. The so-called ‘eater’ won’t generate much loot (less than 20-40 silver per day).

Assuming you have a friend that can get to the tokens…

You do not need friends, anyone who is in your squad or group can do it. I often see teleport to friend offers on lfg for these tokens, too.

I agree we need more ingame rewards. Not just 1 backpack skin and some miniatures from existing models.
The 3 raid wings are perfect – a wide range of rewards you can earn.
The two recent new open world maps offer almost nothing longterm reward wise – dead content after 1 week for me.

The silver wastes armor or the ambrite collection from dry top were good also, they kept me revisiting those zones a lot of times.

The circus weapon set offers 0 incentive to play the new map other than doing that one 3 minutes heart once per day for the vouchers to save some gold. The gold is earned on other maps much quicker.

We need to accept that there will always be things in the game (as in RL) that we just won’t get to do. I don’t have a problem with missing a chance for historical achievements, so long as ANet keeps adding new ones to the game.

However, aside from a point of view, it’s also impractical to bring back most of the historical achievements.

  • The original Miniature Set I, II, III collections were for storing them in your bank simultaneously; that can’t be done at all and it’s been replaced by unlocking them for the wardrobe.
  • Similarly, certain fractal achievements no longer apply and have been replaced.
  • Similarly, certain festival achievements have also been superceded.
  • LS1 can’t be brought back without a lot of work and so none of its achievements can be resurrected.
  • Similarly, some WvW achievements applied to tournaments.
  • Similar, some PvP achievements applied to seasons.

Yup. Many of the historical achievements are there for a real reason. However, I would like to see Anet bring back all of the one time festivals (dragon bash, queens gauntlet, the zephyrite festival), and the associated achievements with those. If nothing else this will at least be good for content droughts

But you do have to stick around. When you join a game, you’re joining for the full game, not for just when you feel like playing. Trolls are the ones who gave up or go afk without the entire team agreeing. Unless everybody agrees to forfeit, everybody is supposed to keep playing normaly.

Why should I have to stick around in a 4v5 game? I applied for a 5v5 match not for 4v5 matches.

I’ve seen an idea here on the forum that i liked: Add unachievable AP to the daily cap!
Daily/Monthly cap is currently 15000.
Say there’s 2000 AP (number strictly an example) that are permanently unachievable.
Player A has all of these, and maxed daily.
Player B has 500 of these, and 14000 daily AP.
Add unachievables to the Daily cap, and we get a new cap of 17000.
A is still capped, since they already had those AP.
B is now at 14500 of 17000 and can continue to chip away at the AP total for more than 50 days.
Later, another 100 AP becomes unachievable due to changes in content. This is again added to the cap.
A hadn’t done those, and now sits at 17000 of 17100 and can get these points.
B had, so they are now at 14600 of 17100.

This is a bad suggestion. It makes historical achievements totally meaningless. Example: Getting legendary in two pvp seasons would only be worth 1 day of dailies, so 200+ hours of effort would be devalue by 5min of daily.
Why would someone ever do achievements that are going to to be retired if they take more work than dailies? Not to mention it would ruin the leaderboards because the whole top 25 would tied.
I can see Anet bringing back historical achievements where it makes sense like Super Adventure Box.

You aren’t supposed to finish it in one day.

And that’s also not the point. If it were in some way time gated, like you could only deliver one apple per day, then that’s fine (I’m aware that there are some limits to how many you can deliver). The problem is that you still have to repeat it 50 times, and that’s about 40 times too many.

Now with some quests, “you don’t have to finish it in one day” is a fine response, like if it’s “kill 5000 destroyers,” obviously you don’t have to grind them all out at once, but the thing is that destroyers are all over the place, and you don’t have to grind them all out in one place, you can just kill a few here and there as you go about your business. “kill 1000 giants,” on the other hand, there are only a handful of giant spawns in the world, and chances are you could play for decades and never get that one unless you deliberately made the effort to farm it.

The same is true here, it doesn’t matter whether you clear it in one day or a thousand days, you will never clear it unless you go back and forth from Hal at least 50 times, which may not be what you’d prefer to be doing.

I don’t understand. There are some Mastery Points that I don’t like, and some I do. And, you know what? There are players that feel just the opposite to how I feel. The ones they don’t like, I do; the ones I don’t like, they do.

True, but that doesn’t mean that none of those things could use improvement, or that the fact that they haven’t been improved is somehow justification for never improving anything else.

So, what is your solution? The Devs can hardly please every player, as players have different ideas of what is fun, and what is not. As stated before, there are more MPs than needed, so there are options for the players to pick and choose among the offerings. You don’t like this one; I prefer it to others. You can choose other MPs to earn that I don’t like. Yay! Win/win.

The problem is that there are not enough MPs out there, given how many of them are tied behind abominable goals. The easiest solution would be for them to add a LOT more MPs to the game, at least ten to fifteen more scattered around the world behind various activities. In their current state, however, every MP matters, and any MP that could be made more fun and engaging to players, rather than A. a total chore, or B. an impossible challenge, would be an improvement on the game.

Sounds great to me. A 3 minute jumping puzzle done 100 times to get an awesome Legendary instead of spending 1000s of gold and spending hours doing map completion in either the HoT maps or core Tyria and spending hours in WvW? Sign me up!

So you would rather spend 15 hours playing through a deliberately tedious jumping puzzle than to actually play the entire rest of the game? That’s pretty depressing. Ok, what if it took 40 hours to complete? Or 100? Or 300? Or 1000 hours? At what point would you say “you know, there could be a better way to do this, maybe.”

There are plenty of mastery points. If you got all mastery points unlocked you have 35 HoT and 18 Tyria mastery points to spare.

I absolutely do not want new recipes for breathers.

I want breathers to be converted to skins, which use the same stats as our helms. There is no reason for us to have to add a 7th piece of armor and a 7th rune for the tiny fraction of the game that is underwater, especially since huge numbers of skills and traits don’t function there.

I agree. The breather is completly useless at the moment. You do not even drown if you completly unequip it.

I actually like this idea. But make it a forfeit option instead. Some players like sticking around, even in an outnumbered situation, for the sake of a challenge.

I dont want to have to stick around just because 1 or more of the rest of the team wants to stick around. There will always be trolls who will never use forfeit.
Its bad enough that currently in unranked there are always trolls voting for other maps and then making fun in map chat that the people trying to get the achievements got screwed again.

You don’t need to play WvW much to make a legendary weapon, and you never need to set foot in PvP at all. The shards of glory and memories of battle are tradeable, so you can get them by farming PvE if you want.

The only thing that makes you step out of PvE is the gift of battle, and you can get that by just doing some of the simpler dailies for a few weeks and using the potions from them to advance the reward track – ones like Big Spender or Master of Monuments that can be completed in a minute or two.

You do need to do WvW to get a gift of battle, no way around it. Several weeks of WvW dailies to get one gift of battle is utterly ridiculous.

Nowhere near as ridiculous as wanting a reward for holistic gameplay without wanting to actually play the game holistically.

seriously why do u care if others got it w/o reaching legend, its just a title. just look at those players who use those title with doubt if they earn it and move along. u might say it removes the value of the title but that value is base on others perception. i still rock my primordial legend title, or legendary champion because those sound better for me. but your right anet cant keep making same mistakes like this because if so why even bother pvping to get to legend.

I care because it is the exclusive reward for reaching legend in season 3. It took me a lot of effort to get it. Why should people who didnt put in the effort to reach legend get it.

that pustule bomb achievement was probably balanced around an earlier version of the instance with more enemies. I assume it was dumbed down (such as the shield cant drop to 0) to appease casual players more.

It never needed all achievements to complete, as there are more than 26. I think there are 31, all told.

But, now one need only complete 23 out of the 31.

Yay!

Its not much of a “Rising Flames mastery” if you can leave out all the hard ones.
Maybe Anet should at least find a more appropriate name for these achievements if they make it casual like this.

Are "New Builds" Bothersome?

I cannot remember the last time a new build interrupted my playing WvW. I’m not sure that it’ ever happened to me, to be frank. I’m also not sure that “interrupting” WvW play is that big of a deal. Assuming the usual “Your game will close in one hour.” happens, this should be more than enough time to finish any ongoing fight or objective cap. I’d want to know what the perceived negatives — other than “I don’t want to be bothered.” — are before thinking this is an issue that needs to be fixed.

In WvW you have 3 minutes. Then everyone gets booted because obviously only 1 instance of each wvw map can exist at the same time for WvW to work.

How did it need at all achievements to complete? I got it done before buying the patronage or finishing the mursaat tokens.
The achievement is called “Rising Flames Mastery”. To be honest an achievement called mastery should include every last achievement to finish.

1-2 hours is indeed reasonable for a title. But one to 2 hours of running the same path back and forth over and over is not in any way fun. They could have come up with something INTERESTING for us to do for 1-2 hours, instead of this junk.

They could have place 50 unique apple trees on the island, each of them only useable once per account. But then people would find other reasons to complain
