I see nothing wrong with the current aquisition methods. Makes it worth it to go out to the less popular areas and farm some nodes.
I think the commander focus meta needs a fix.
Possible solutions:
1) Make it possible to hide your wvw rank
2) Give the commander an anti focus buff which gets stronger the more people are ALIVE in his his squad. Like 1 stack of defiance and 2% damage reduction per living player in your squad.
3) Give commander immunity to projectiles and moa if he has at least 10 people ALIVE in squad.
The pirate ship meta is boring enough, but if the opponents spend so much effort focussing your commander it makes the fights even less enjoyable (for him and the rest of your people).

Hope this puts a smile on your face OP
That’s ten hours a day…
Seeing some of the numbers in this thread, does this seriously not bother some of you guys? Because if I looked back on two years and noticed I logged 10 hours a day on a computer game I’d probably throw myself off the nearest bridge.
But then you did not only “waste” 10k hours on a video game, but also threw away the rest of your life.
The is no place for happiness during war time. It is all fine and well.
I do not see a problem with it. Its a game. Real life ethics and morals do not apply here.
Cheers sir.
Is GW2 using the Mersenne Twister for RNG?
Its not a bug, its a feature :p
You can beat the current game without armor, so no need to buff exotics or nerf ascended.
Zhaitan ate all the filthy human gods.
Queens Gauntled would be nice so I can farm myself a Lyssa backpiece recipe.
I checked back to the beginning of April, you haven’t hit DR since that time.
Thanks for posting the results (although I fear that 20 other people are also going to ask you to check for them — I would have though you would want more evidence before taking the time).
I assume you are talking about DR for drops, not event DR (which seems much easier to trigger).
I wonder how many types of DR exist?
Too many. DR even exists for killing players in WvW
I agree and this has been brought up over and over since release. But Anet always ignored it
Count retaliation effect into it, too. It makes a similar annoying effect.
How could it be an exploit (or count as unrestricted) if Wall of Reflection/Feedback does the same?
As someone with 7k+ hours on guardian it looked like a pretty boring/useless spec to me.
Blimey how many rares are you all salvaging for that to be a problem?? One of you please tell the Loot Fairy I want to be her BFF too lol
I was thinking the same thing.
As I recall, the warning was implemented at player request. Players were accidentally salvaging items that they did not intend to salvage, just as back in the day (GW) you could sell valuable items with a single click. So the devs added a confirmation process to ensure that you do exactly what you intend to do.
I don’t recall seeing a warning for green items, but I don’t mind a bit getting the message in relation to golds. But then, I’m not massively wealthy, either.
There used to be a message for greens, but it was removed when essence of luck was introduced.
I feel like the content draught is hurting the game quite a bit
I hope your RMT detection got better. I was banned wrongfully twice for RMT already. Next time I want a Mini Mystical Dragon for compensation.
can we has farm the farmers event?
It wont do much. If you leech instead of jumping in you only reduce your own kills per hour.
Yes, I saw that. But I am not willing to leave any of my guilds since that would lock me out of the guild banks for 3 days.
Making OS an overflow would help a lot.
I see this as an exploit of mechanics to artificially increase kill counts for WvW achievements. But since GM Chris allows this, it makes me want to transfer to EU so I can join this kill fest.
I would love to send you a guild invite.
Got the same problem with a guild I joined today.
Caps should be increased not lowered. I play WvW to see huge armies not small troops.
OP is a hypocrite. He was member of the OS farm guild until this evening where he suddenly left.
Be funny if after you get the title, they remove it and reset your kills to 0.
Why do you wish bad things to people who arent doing anything wrong?
We have Chinese New Year and Crown Pavillon, too. Possibly even Dragon Bash whenever Anet feels like it.
The cap got lowered several time since release. Probably around 70 now.
Eotm not included in the 3k hours. I am at over 8k hours on my account lol
Too each his own I guess. I rather get this achievement done in the most efficient way possible.
Most of the people played the game mode for 2 years to achieve this. Now when eotm ruined the ranks this title was the only thing left which showed who had put lots of dedication on the game mode. Now you made it available for everyday tequatl farmer who can’t tell which server they are playing for? It’s so idiotic of anet devs to let this happen
I had 73k kills after approximately 3k hours of WvW. So I rather speed it up now. 131.6k kills and counting.

This is just pathetic, these people should get banned for this kitten
Not going to happen: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Obsidian-Sanctum-Issues/first#post4925571
You better join us and have some fun
Not sure if this is hilarious or sad.
Its very enjoyable. I could do this farm 24/7 if I had to.
Nice way to cheapen any prestige the title had left. It is a joke Anet still hasn’t simply closed OS down.
Oh dont be like that. We only created 3 Ultimate Dominators so far. We are going for 100 before Anet reworks the obsidian sanctum.
Yes its a very worthwhile farm. Minimum 2k kills per hour, sometimes upto 6k per hour depending on how many players join. We have special builds for maximum tagging. Having a lvl 80 guard ele or necro is suggested.
Anyone from Jade, Deso or Sfr is allowed to join. Just whisper one of the people in the original post.

The fact that they take a “ridiculously long time” to get is what makes them special.
Making items that only a handful of people will ever get in a MMO with a 7 digit player population is the kind of special we really, really don’t need. Especially when the cutoff makes them literally impossible to get for everyone that started playing later (well, assuming that they will even become someday possible to get for anyone – because as you know currently they aren’t and it’s not likely to change anytime soon).
Its exactly what we need. It keeps thousands of people achievement hunting just to get the skins one day. And if you start playing now there are other things to worry about than achievement point unlocks.
I don’t want to be impacted by all the Gold-seller mail/map chat/whispers/etc. Should my needs be brushed aside because a small amount of people will hit the cap? It would impact by quality of experience playing this game if measures were not taken to help curb RMTs.
Is my experience in-game as a paying customer worth less than those will large amounts of in-game Gold?
Food for thought…
Those gold sellers only impact you for a few seconds at a time. You block, report and move on. Certainly much less incovenience than having artifical limits on transfering gold.
The problem isn’t that gold sellers are an inconvenience, the problem is people are actually buying gold from gold sellers. Which encourages them to hack more accounts to do more business. Stopping the gold sellers by the limitation, which severely hampers their ability to conduct business, you limit the amount of gold sellers wanting to do business in game. If the buyer can only recieve a limited amount of gold per week, why would they want to do business with them if it takes 2+weeks to receive their goods? At that point is not worth it to buy gold from third party sites. Plus it greatly increases the chances of buyers getting caught if they have to wait longer.
I think you’re vastly underestimating the ability of ingame gold/commodity sellers to adapt. If they can’t send gold, they will use something else. Again, just look back on GW1.
Yes, whats next. Will I be only able to take out 1-5 stacks of T6 mats out of my guild bank per week?
The fact that they take a “ridiculously long time” to get is what makes them special. Making them available in gemshop is like the worst idea ever.
This is why Anet makes RNG boxes.
Camp defenses are quite terrible, too. At least 4 out of 5 times the event reward does not even trigger even though I killed at least one attack and/or rezzed NPCs.
Also in light of the obsidian sanctum farm, Anet has one more reason to find realistic numbers for the achievements, otherwise people will find ways to get them in a way that is not in the spirit of the game.

At 500G, it is not only functionally effective, but also it will only impact 0.175% of our players during an entire month’s worth of mails (if an account would hit the restriction once per month/30 days).
Like I said, maybe Anet should start posting the gold transfer data of some of the grumblers here. Maybe edit their names to save them from being humiliated too much.
[/quote]
You dont get it. People have all right to be “grumblers”. Just because they rarely or never hit the cap so far doesnt mean they wont do in the future. And as soon as that happens you reduced that person’s freedom.
And I am not even sure if Anet even got their 0.175% right considering I have been innocently banned two times for gold selling already and had to ask to customer support for help.
It is a good thing I don’t work for Anet and have access to the gold transfer data of players. If I did I’d look up some of the people grumbling in this thread and post how much gold they receive via mail or transfer via guild bank a week. Kind of like what the devs sometimes do in the PvP forum when someone complains about their ranking. I’d be willing to bet for most people in this thread it would be far below the 500 gold cap.
Uh. Just because a person complaining rarely hits the 500g cap doesnt mean he has no right about complaining about it. Even if it just hits him once per year he got negatively affected by it and has all right to complain about it.
You are basically taking peoples freedom away to do with their gold whatever they want (as long as they dont break the ToS) by limitting their weekly transfers.
or just plan ahead
I never have that much gold at the same time (I love spending my gold all the time xD). Spreading 6720g on the accounts way ahead of time just so I have them ready for the envelopes? You must be kidding me.
This year I only managed to do this by sending each account16g every day, sending the envelopes back, selling them on TP and sending 16g again next day.I dont care if these measures only affect less than 1% of the players. If it affects just 1 legitimate player its a terrible measure.
You only need about 480G plus enough to cover the first day’s TP fees to purchase 16 across your 30 accounts. After that, you can continually sell them each day and make profit which I’m assuming is your goal. You don’t need to keep sending each account gold everyday as you will make more than enough profit to not need gold influxes to that account.
That still means I wont be able to do anything else with my gold for 14 days.

I need the limit to be at least 3360g per week.
Why? So I can buy 16 Divine Envelopes per day on each of my account next time the chinese new year starts.
16 envelopes * 7 days * 30 accounts = 3360g.
500g = barely enough to buy envelopes on one out of the 7 days.
There are plenty of legitimate reasons why someone would need more than 500g limit per week. At least make the limit cummultative. Eg. if you transfer nothing for 4 weeks you have 2000g limit.

No it’s not. April Fools.
:D
April first is over for quite some time already if you use server clock.
If you get on a map which is being closed via a taxi (lfg or invite), you do not see the timer when it will close.
So you might get teleported away from the map without any knowledge that the map will be closed soon. Just happened to me while doing the dwayna pre events
The timer when a map closes must be visible even if you enter the map after the timer started.
I am glad they are not tradeable. I would hate if people could buy the minis for 3g on the trading post.
I like that they are some what rare to get, and people HAVE to invest in keys to get them, nice way for ANet to make some money out of it. At least I won’t have to worry about everyone and their grandma having the mini’s.
It also drives down the black lion weapon skin prices if more people buy the keys. Which is positive for me since I am trying to collect them all for the achievement points.
