I do get your general premise, and I generally agree, although I think the rate of return could be smoothed out better to not be as punishing for newer players and to be more rewarding for veteran players…it was just the specific example of RL working wages that didn’t quite work because we have labor laws against that. If one of my new hourly employees put in 120 hours of work in a week, 80 hours would be paid at overtime or double time rates, and that would push their paycheck way over what my most seasoned employee earns for a normal work week. Although, I suppose the wage analogy does work for salaried veterans, as they get paid the same each week whether they are hardly working or working hard, but then where is the incentive for them without providing commissions or bonuses on top of their flat salary?

Again you are saying new/casual players are being punished. That would be a incorrect statement. Nobody is being punished. I think the time it will take to get (say the back piece) these rewards are more than fair. It is simple to me. If you do not have time to play I am sorry for you(or anyone for that matter), but do not ask for easy mode because you feel it is unfair. More play time = better rewards. Less play time = less rewards.

I mean I have nothing against minis. But using them in WvW is not the smartest thing. Especially if your group is small and is trying to sneak across the map to take towers. camps, etc, etc…

If you read the OP, I complained about a lot of other stuff too…

5 out of 8 points are about the rewards…
It just makes it look like you are here to ask for more/easier rewards, while throwing in some of the other permanent problems wvw has to make it seems otherwise.

That said, I do agree on the first two.

You are spot on. He has several threads and posts decrying the speed and amount of effort he needs to do to earn the rewards.

If you really want to throw things in a tizzy – give an AP Point for each wvw rank and watch the PVE heros go bonkers.

Now that would be a funny twist lol.

This tactic and the Siege Cap is great. Works especially well against the onslaught of PvE peoples now out in WvW.

Mmmm…can’t use real life as an example. We do have minimum wage laws, and as a result, I’ve never seen a wage scale where a new worker has to work exponentially harder than the next guy in line to make a living. Plus, it’s usually the rich that make exponentially more, so why are you even capped at 175 for all your veteran-ness? If RL worked like the total hours per pip rate below, both the poor and the rich would be furious…there’s little incentive to even start, and there’s little incentive to work beyond a certain point:

You missed the point. But that is ok. I will say it plainly so you do not get confused. You must put the work in to get the maximum amount of tickets. If you do not, then you will not get them. I could use many examples of how this works. But that should be adequate for now I hope.

I actually like the changes. They have benefited my play style very well. Sorry you do not like it.

As little use as I find in the tomes now, at one point in my gw2 career they were invaluable. Exp was removed from wvw and the tomes added because people were playing as low level toons to level and being what is known as a “rally bot.”

Adding a vendor that exchanges tomes for something else, like siege, would be nice, though.

Ya siege or something useful would be nice. As to the pips I would say no. Just my thoughts.

Well I have mixed feelings on this. Well most of the PvE players are not that great to have in WvW. There are some that are doing very well, and adapting to this part of the game very well.

I guess my take on it is the following. Eventually the majority of PvE players will dwindle vastly in WvW. However I feel we will get some very good players out of all this, and eventually WvW will go back to being good again. It just might take a bit is all.

Good idea in theory. But what would be to stop people from abusing that? I can see all kinds of people going afk across the map, just because the decay is slower on the other side of said map.

I have noticed 0 change since that patch. I am always on the move, and rarely am I just standing around. I personally feel that if you just keep capturing, killing, and other such fun things you will not notice any change to the system.

I roam most days for a hour or two when I get home, and get plenty of pips as I am always doing something that counts towards those pips. I really do not think people that are actually doing the same as me are having any issue with this change.

If you just stand around, then I guess you should expect decay. If your not consistently taking objectives and killing other players, then you will get decay. Seems fairly simple to me. Unless I missed something?

I have had really no issues roaming since the changes! I am a DH that is built for group comp, and not roaming. Yet I have had little to no issues. Yes occasionally I get killed and such. But as far as getting to an objective, I have had really no issues.

I will never give up! I love that it will take me a while. I am not in WvW Primarily for loots. I go to WvW for the fights!

No. I think if the opposite team can get their downed up there should be no penalty. Sometimes you need to rez your downed, especially if you have a smaller group.

There should be no penalty expect the opposite team should feel stupid for letting you lol.

I like the way it is now. Stop giving bad ideas to anet. They have enough to handle without terrible suggestions such as this. Thank you.

lol, WvW is about the large scale fights. Even a roamer does at least 1 thing in a 10 minute time span.

They had to do something folks. I always participate and never do I go AFK to farm pips. For anyone that did do that, you are the reason this change was instituted. Stop abusing the system and participate. Now even more so you will have to participate. I played for 4 hours last night and it was fantastic. Thank you ANET for making it so people can not be lazy kitten, and making things seem a bit more fair for everyone that was being honest about it.

I am not sure what server your from. And I mean this in the most polite way I know how to say it, but your wrong. 100% wrong! I am loving WvW and there are plenty of people to play with and against.

No. That is part of the strategy of the game. Some guilds and groups actually like defense, and I like breaking that defense. There are ways to get around that siege. You just have to think outside the box.

I am a veteran. Playing since launch. I think the reward system is meant to be difficult. Anyways I do not play WvW for rewards, nor have I asked for any. I just want better fights. The rewards are secondary for me at best.

I honestly think no matter how it worked there would be a lot of abusers. That is just how it is. People figure out the system then abuse said system. Not sure anet can really do much about it.

Best way to deal with thieves is to let them use all their burst while blocking. As soon as they are done you can normally one shot them or they run away with their tails tucked between their legs.

Water combat is my favorite. As a DH I am almost unstoppable underwater lol.

I really enjoyed the tournaments. But WvW needs a lot of work before we can have another tournament. Mostly we need balances for all classes(if ever possible) and to wait for the PvE folks to go back the whence they came.

Once those things happen I am all for a tournament.

I mean if your paying attention to the commander and he suddenly disappears , all you need to do is look at his/her name in the squad and it will tell you where they went.

This all depends on what content you want to play. PvE. PvP, Raids, or WvW.

You people just want something for nothing. 100 of either are so easy to come by. Just stop with your crying and get your tickets the way Anet has laid the ticket rewards out.

Doesn’t matter Anet doesn’t update anything in wvw anyways good suggestions or otherwise so who cares. Not to mention I have no idea why wvwers would object to an update to auto loot that would result in getting more loot. Especially when all wvwers complained about for years was no loot/rewards…. but whatever lol.

This is one of those suggestions, where if Anet just changed it so you got loot no matter what every wvw would say, “we like this” or “good job Anet more loot” but because I’m suggesting it, it’s an absolutely horrible idea, for some reason which nobody can figure out.

I mean at best it’s more loot, at worst it’s irrelevant, but you know keep up the good fight.

People object because it encourages people to lay dead on the ground instead of releasing and running back to the fight.

right….. so loot auto going into your inventory = you are encouraged to stay dead? Im not seeing the connection. Seems completely unrelated to me.

I can’t recall ever playing a game where, when you died (essentially when you failed in some way), you still automatically were given every bit of the loot you would have acquired if you stayed alive, contributed to the fight, got ressed by a comrade, or used other mechanics (like WP) to rejoin the battle. Maybe I’m misunderstanding, but shouldn’t death have a death penalty of some sort? It’s modest enough, with the mechanics in place, but should it be zero?

Yes, I do believe that such functionality would discourage active play. “I’m dead. I’ll just lie here and gather all my goodies while I go order a pizza. Doesn’t cost me a thing to be inactive — I’ll still get 100% of the loot either way.” Does that even make sense? Or am I misunderstanding the suggestion?

TBH I am not pressed. It is a game. It is meant to be fun. Why do you need this back piece at the same time as others? I for one would love to go through Diamond each week. But RL must come first for me.

So eventually I will get mine. But I am in no rush. I am just enjoying killing all the new n00bs out in WvW.

Over all or just some features? If I had to pick someone it would be fellow I know named Gorn. Best warrior to date.

As for commanders, since launch I have mainly played WvW. By far the best commander for me has been BlaiseMcBaine.

All I can say at this point is WoW!! You need to rethink your posts before you post them. It is ok now that you brought a actual server into this it will probably get erased.

I have never had that issue! I always find something to keep my tick going. There are 3 ways out of spawn. And if your running by yourself you must have your head on a swivel. Otherwise you will die and get no pips lol
