Yeah, I agree that time-gating is valid. At least 50 players in my guild are already done with their monthly achievement or will be done by tomorrow.

People don’t choose Char or Asuran because the general base players prefer being Human or Human-like. Look at other MMOs. You’ll notice the same trend in those games as well.

I’m trying to build an exotic Celestial set for my thief, but for some reason it is not letting me discover the recipe.

I was able to discover shoulder piece, but none of the remaining 5 pieces could be discovered. Is this a bug?

I just gave myself Arthiritis Using all my Karma Consumables, then Buying all Orian Boxes with 3 million Karma, then Opening it, then Using Karma Consumbles again, then Buying all Orian Boxes, etc etc etc.

I would greatly appreciate an ability to right click said item, and choose Use the whole stack. The same goes with Buy whole stack. It would even be better to choose the amount bought, used, sold, etc. Thank you

LOTS of people used MF in dungeons. Also I would kick any1 from my party who is running zerger gear as a zerger is some1 who omniblobs in wvw and is likely wearing something like apothecary or ptv. Would rather take a zerker.

And I would kick anyone that I was sure running MF gear instead of contributing to running the dungeons. At least Apothercary, and PTV gear characters would be able to face tank a boss for a given time. MF gear does absoluting nothing for the group and only helps the individual wearing it.

Playing this game since launce, and I steadily have watched the community go down hill. What was once a great community bent on helping one another, it seems to have turned into a troll fest of Farmer Elitism vs the Rest.

It is not only the arguments in map chat, youtube videos and on the forums that makes me believe this is on the rise. It is also noticeable in the fights themselves. I see more and more often people not rezzing people because of loss of dps time which may cause the player not to receive their “chest” reward from the given Champion they are poking at.

I feel this is a cause for worry because I don’t wish this great community to degrade into a troll infested one like the LoL community did.

The only solution I feel might resolve this involves the way chests are rewarded to a player. Not only should it be based upon a set amount damage given to a Champion, but should also factor in the amount healed to surrounding players (which includes rezzing players).

The second is based on the current Living Story. Events like the Aetherblade and Molten Alliance should only have the correct amount of events necessary to complete the given task. What that means is instead of consistently spawning new ones, if the players need to defeat 10 spawn only 10. That way all players will actually assist in the defeat of Scarlet instead of being fractured between those that wish to play the game as it was meant to be played and those that wished to farm/exploit the system.

Being that the new MF stat will become Account Bound, what is the maximum limit to MF gear you would gain from each character?

What if people decided to max out all their characters at this moment with Magic Find equipment, so that they can obtain the ABMF (Account Bound Magic Find) stat?

Will some players have substantially more ABMF then others giving some players a significant head start?

A month ago, I spent $50 to get enough for a ticket to purchase an the Aetherized weapon skin. I hope this helps you make your decision.

I agree with the OP, they need to add a WXP retrainer. Just make it cost 10g to retrait each time so we don’t have to worry about anybody abusing the system.

Also, Orr isn’t that hard to run around in unless it takes you a really long time to read a sentence.

I just ran a couple in the overflow and we completed just fine. I believe patience is a good virtue here, especially since the event lasts 4 weeks. You will be able to get the achievement done.

I totally disagree with the initial statement that this game is designed for the hardcore, because I do not consider myself a hardcore player but am still able to complete the most of the achievements. It comes down to time management since I know I won’t have all the achievements done tomorrow or event the next. One achievement a day is what I aim for, and if I can pre-plan correctly, I can possibly even knock out more in an hour.

People seem to be confused about how the event works.

The problem with zerging the events (not only the Aetherblades, but also Molten and Minions) is that it will cause the chosen events to scale (and they won’t be completed any faster) and the other ones will end up being neglected, therefore it will take longer for the bar to drop. Since there is a limited time to finish the waves and to kill the reinforcements (molten and Aetherblades), the best way to make sure that the event is completed successfully would be to form smaller groups and to cover a larger part of the map.

The problem is not killing champions. The problem is when half the map is doing the same event instead of covering everything. But hey, as long as people are not yelling at me for explaining how it works, I could care less.

You’re obviously missing the OP’s message. What he is saying is people are doing it on purpose to farm Champions. They don’t care about the end-loot because the difference between a successful defense against the invasion and a failed is moot.

There needs to be more of a significant punishment for failing the invasion then what it currently is at the moment, so that people are more willing to work together to beat these invasions back.

When Scarlet first spawns… she needs to be invulnerable for the first 3 minutes. I see too many people aren’t able to get the loot from her.

The last one, I recently attempted to be nice and did only white damage during the whole 10 seconds she was alive, so that others would get a chance to tag her. I was SOL on loot for doing that. Point being, Never again.

So for the sake of community, please boost her HP AND make her Invulnerable to attack for the first 2-3 minutes (she won’t be attacking of course, just long enough for everyone on the map has a chance to tag her and get some of that sweet sweet loot).

Well.. its changed for me now.

Now every a min I get a burst of around 50kb downloaded, and then it stops.

Even though this is progress… this seems way worse of a tease then seeing a non-downloading bar.

Agreed with the OP, this is definitely a life improvement for the game. I don’t understand why people continue to complain when things are getting better.

Same. I restarted my computer and now it won’t go past 28kb.

Anyone else stuck downloading the hotfix? I can’t seem to go past 1260kb.

I’ve tried opening and closing the program a few times, but no help there.

Also, check your hardware. I suggest getting HWmonitor program and checking your vid card and CPU temp. For me, it turns out that whoever put the thermal paste on my CPU did a poor job, and I had to redo it. Worked like a charm and my FPS skyrocketed!

THIS. I rarely set foot outside of WvW but when I do and show up at an event and there are 5 tags up……GRRRR. PvE is faceroll there is no reason to tag up unless you are running a guild bounty.

Normally I would agree with you, but with today’s release of events I have to disagree. If the Commanders don’t spread out and hit the events across a whole map then the event will fail. What that means is less loot for the mass.

I was in an overflow map where the commanders ran together and we ended up failing the event miserably. People are going to follow those Doritos no matter what we say in these forums, so its up to the commanders to spread out the zerg effectively.

This is a short term event… I am not sure what the issue here is. We aren’t even sure what is going to happen in 4 weeks from now when this event ends.

This update may be a festival… but I think we are trying to save the world from the Aetherblades.

half SPvP? You know you can make dyes and other stuff in SPvP and sell it on the BLT to make decent money.

No offense to Anet, but their TP is complete garbage. In fact, the entire game economy is garbage. How hard could it possibly have been to balance the economy and get it ready for the players before they released the game and then tweaked it a bit afterward? All they had to do was keep saying “soon” to keep stalling the players. God knows they did that anyway. Honestly, how difficult is it to think about the repercussions of adding new loot, taking it away, or making tier 6 mats easier to get? Anet needs to hire an economist apparently, because they’re really not doing too well by themselves and they just keep digging a deeper grave each time they cater to the casuals and make loot easier to get.

I completely agree, and that is why I said ANet needs a resolution before the inflation gets out of hand. Nothing is predictable, ESPECIALLY the market. Economists paid by the government still have trouble predicting the future and we are suppose to be in some magical technological age.

What needs to be done is some form of incentive gold sink, and I am not talking about Legendaries. (If everyone got Legendaries then it definitely should not be called Legendaries anymore) Personally, I believe the gold sink should only affect those that farm 24/7, and not those that play the game in other fashions (wvw, spvp, explorers, etc.)

If anyone has some good ideas of gold sinks, or a fix to this farming/inflation issue, please present it.

Does anyone else notice the slow rise in prices?

For example, I noticed how certain items I am watching slowly and steadily started rising in prices (I am working on my first legendary).

If you notice, everything slowly starts to rise in price starting on Aug 7th.

Its obvious this trend is caused by the massive farming these last two weeks from the majority of the player base.

So the real question here is whether its caused by everyone being too busy farming to post up items they acquire or is it cause by the influx of gold players are attaining from said farming?

Personally, I think its the latter and can not wait for this event to be over. Its really nice to actually have gold (instead of being broke), but it makes little difference if I have more gold only to find out that everything I wish to buy has raised in price.

I was wondering what everyone does with their white, blue, green and yellow gear? With the current Pavilion farming, my system doesn’t seem to be working as well as I hope. I’m just curious what everyone else does, and maybe I can find someone that has a better working idea then the one I currently use.

Whites- salvage
Blues- vend
Green- mystic toilet
Yellow- TP any items above 25 silvers, otherwise I salvage for Ectos

Currently, I am making maybe 1g every hour in the pavilion without TPing any of the crafting materials using this method. (From vending blues, and opening the bags)

World Completion!! Woot!!

Oh, and I have all the Explorer achievements for each major zone (i.e. shiverpeak, ascalon, etc.)

I have 722/723 POIs found, so no World Completion. When I scroll over each zone it shows 100% map completion (per zone) with all the POIs found.

I backed out and went to the character select screen. That particular character shows that it is at 100% world completion, while the top right corner of the screen shows that I only have a 99% world completion.

Is this a bug? Can someone help me?

I fell over the side and it didn’t kill me. I can’t get back up and I am holding an orb thing.

I wasn’t asking for a precursor; only for something unique as you get into the higher bracket of achievement points.

But you’re right, data mine is data mine but I think others might fall into the same idea as I just did and start trolling the forums once they see it.

I, like many others, have started the achievement grind to unlock many of the rewards ANet has provided for us and for the last week and a half it has been great! Finally, something to aim for while I did what little pve I do already on a regular basis…. Until just now.

I recently saw the updated list of upcoming rewards from now until 25k achievement points later. I gotta say I am disappointed. Personally, I think if ANet had never released this list they would have been better off. The list itself should be updated by the players as they come across it. Even if it is a mediocre rewards later down the line, at least we would only find out when the time came instead of seeing it now and losing excitement because we dont see something unique and satisfying.

So the question here is, am I alone in this or do others feel the same once they see the list?

Does jumping puzzles count as part of Map completion?
