I know we can purchase a weapon with the token, and then salvage it for Glob of Ectoplasm.. but somehow that seems like a waste of a Token you spent your whole character career building up to.

Is there any reason not to spend the token? Anyone know if there will be new options/traits for weapons in the future?

A guild is your best bet, which you might find on your server’s website. Also, you can use gw2lfg.com for dungeons.

I haven’t been to Orr in many many months, but I can’t imagine it being that dead.

Incentivise guard duty. Added mini-events like building structures, or very very slow WXP gain for staying and protecting a tower. Or even the Asuran chessboard, so that you have at least something to do while you are being a dedicated guard/scout

I’m on T1… There’s plenty of small group action. Just jump on your server’s team speak and don’t go near where the scouts tell you where the enemy zerg is. Or be the scouting party with you and your group fighting on the outskirts avoiding both yours and the enemies zerg. There’s no culling now so they won’t magically appear on top of you.

I had always been under the assumption the server resets were late. Not early. Can’t really tell since most MMOs reset at midnight not midday.

Yeah. I didn’t know before today. Otherwise I wouldn’t have posted this thread. An game timer or some sort of notification would be helpful, especially to new players.

So, I ran out and bought the Razer Hex yesterday… so far. I have never been so unhappier with a purchase. Its not the mouse itself, its the Razer Synapse 2.0 that I have register too. I got some major issues with and its not letting my update my firmware for the mouse.

Anyways, I’ll probably just return it on Monday seeing as how Razer’s support hasn’t contacted me back yet.

-boggles- I have to be online to use my HEX? That’s news to me. It certainly works before I open any browsers. Now, I don’t swap its settings around, so maybe that needs a connection to the RAZER site, I have no idea. The only issue I have with it is that I have to manually correct mouse scroll from 30 lines to 3 lines every time I boot my machine, though that might be from my old ABYSSUS driver as I still have the latter mouse hooked in as well.

I love the HEX for GW2. It’s a little clunky for more precise movement (hence my keeping the lighter weight mouse ready to hand). For instance, there’s a minesweeper like game I like to play, and I cannot speedily move to and click the tiny squares with the HEX. For GW2 it’s awesome. I couldn’t effectively dodge without it — I bought it after BWE1 because of that issue.

To clarify: you haven’t seen any lag issues, but you also don’t switch profiles/swap dpi settings. Also, the Hex feels clunky for you, so FPS would be out of the question.

From what you are saying, this mouse just isn’t designed for FPS, but would work well for GW2 or any other similar MMOs?

A trackball? People game with those things? Hell. I haven’t even seen one in 10 years!

I use a Razer Hex. I have dodge and skills 6-10 mapped to the six thumb buttons. My TS push to talk is the button just behind the mouse wheel. The second middle button there isn’t mapped, because I have to contort my hand to reach it, so I prefer to not use it, but I’m not even sure what I would use it for. I suspect that people with smaller hands wouldn’t have as much problem reaching it easily.

It’s one of the simpler gaming mice, but I love it.

sorry to bring up old news, but I am also looking for a gaming mouse designed for GW2.

How is the Razer Hex? I have been reading articles about the issues where it is always required to be online to use. Do you have any lag problems when you are switching settings? Also, does your mouse not work properly if you aren’t online?

Imagine two people having a conversation in LA, or WvW. Just standing around and talking about the game (in /say) and what not, then BAM one person goes silent. That person is me because I got suppressed.

I’m just wondering if that is intended. A system where we can only speak in short conversations with one another, like to ask for each other’s skype info or something.

Example:
Engineer’s Explosive V trait is 33% chance to burn on crits
Engineer’s Firearm Sharpshooter trait is 30% chance to bleed on crits
+
Sigil of Superior Air is 30% chance to cause Lightning Strike on crits

I have never seen them all go off at the same time. Only 1. Can someone confirm or deny this?

Same, I did the clean update for my Nvidia driver and I still get the black screen flicker + lag afterwards.

Another side issue, is the fact that my keyboard and mouse USB would shut down from time to time now. Only if I was playing GW2. Not from other games or regular pc usage.

I’ve been getting the same issues, but only now its getting worse.

Before, I would get a screen reset and my graphics quality would drop. As in the shadows, the textures, and other details would disappear and the game would lag hard.

Cleaning, and testing my game on other high quality graphics games yielded no results. Game works fine everywhere else.

What I did instead was lower my shadows, shader and reduced water reflection to terrain only. This was a good temporary fix for about a week.

Now, for the last two days its back. And after every freeze and lag it gets a little worse. I am now getting the black screen, then now its completely crashing the game or freezing my computer. Also, the sound quality is starting to bug out as well as any component that is plugged in via USB would fail from time to time while I play. Once again, I have zero issues outside of the game. Only happens when GW2 is playing.

Please, a fix or update of the status of this fix would be extremely helpful.

side note: I just bought this computer pre-built from a company called Origin back in May 2012

No, it won’t. And I could write a nice long post on all the reasons why it isn’t so, but explaining something so obvious to people who refuse to understand, would be like trying to explain what blue is to a blind person.

I agree with Yukishiro. Once you completely understand your play style and couple it up with how you build your character, you will be a good player. In PvE dungeons and sPvP I get invites consistently because other online players know the benefits I can bring to the table.

The only thing wrong about our profession is the fact that some traits don’t function as stated in the tool tips. Which can be easily rectified.

churning earth inside a ring of fire gives you and your party +3 stacks of might.

So, let’s say you swap to fire, do ring of fire, swap to earth, do the earth stomp followed by a churning earth in there, you will give you and your party 6 stacks of might (if you don’t have attunement swap bonus from arcane) 7 stacks if you do

I solo’d the whole story mode at the minimum levels required for pve just fine. In dungeons I do just as well as the next profession. Spvp I have zero issues against other skilled players except for Guardians which I think are way too OP.

We aren’t broken, people just need to change their builds around until they find one that suits them. Otherwise maybe this profession isn’t their gameplay style and they need to switch to something a little less complex…. like Warriors or Guardians.

I’m not sure I fully understand your rant. I turned off my auto-targeting system, and my game works fine. If I do not have a character targeted for a target required skill, my character will just waste the skill which is my fault.

If you are saying you click most of the time, why the issue with the targeting skill anyways?

I have the same issue. Though mine only shuts off for a second, especially during a fight. It shuts off, screen goes black, then comes back on but the game is frame rate is terrible for 20 minutes.

only thing I could add is possibly Ride the Lightning has a pathing issue sometimes. If its not working properly, it’ll randomly get stuck on a hidden rock or path into a spot that it is predicting where the target is going.
