A guildmate and myself were both just experiencing this…
As I was typing up the response I watched my bar go to half and start counting XP….
I asked in map chat and multiple ppl have full bars too with no gain…
There are a few posts on this, I recently started another thread similar to yours, but it was regarding if a Mesmer is holding an item, such as a reflection crystal vs the maw, no skill, or dodge, that would produce clones works.
This has been a problem since launch, and has not been addressed at all.
Now, it is said the upcoming patch will “make it even better!!” if you have 3 clones active, and dodge, it wont replace one with a new one… This is huge hit on Mesmer clone builds as the “death” of one is good (for some trait builds) and the fact that though I may have 3 alive, I may be dodging to loose agro on my new clone….
Seems Warriors with great swords were complaining about our clones (as broken as they are) so they will address that, and keep the Mesmer as broken as they have been for ages.
The game supports 32 bit OS, so recommending “simply upgrading” his whole computer as a fix isn’t a good recommendation.
Many users are having issues since Dec update, some have uninstalled (removed whole game) and reinstalled, others have just wiped and recreated the data file. Both can take quite a bit of time due to the size of the data file needing downloaded.
I recommend the following:
1. After every update to the game, I do the following:
2. Go into Options -> Graphic Options -> and take a screen shot.
3. Then change Settings Preset: Auto Detect or Best Performance
Then I play with those settings for a few hours, and review the screen shot and make changes as needed to return to my prior settings, if problems start during this I troubleshoot by doing small changes
Most problems with the game crashing I have found are adjustable by this method.
I still run on the “beta package” and have never installed the game because this has fixed my issues that keep coming up.

Bringing this up, cause yet again I am seeing a lot of players who are having a lot of trouble understanding why nothing for fractals matches up…
I feel like a kindergarten teacher trying to explain why the game doesn’t make any sense but it is the way it is, because it is….
Please address at least some part of this…

I assume Anet fixed the daily fractal runner glitch in here and broke the NPCs?
I have screen shots, not that anyone cares, but this is what was happening:
Player entered Lab at lvl 35-37.
Player rolled into first fractal, it reset to lvl 33…
It reset to that players personal reward lvl…
I entered the same path with my higher lvl fractal, and it let me choose and enter as desired.
Seems like some “personal reward level bug”
That is because you can still buy Dragon Coffers… I guess that would be a phase in the phases listed above…
’Dragon Coffers will be sold out on BLTC in the mix of things….

Value of those skins – in value of dollars made to ANet…
`Once the gold value of the game reaches a threshold of users no longer buying them they will fall into the “Only obtained reasonably well via BL Claim Tickets”…
`Once the claim ticket transfers to for said item slow, they will reduce the ticket per item (for example, we have seen many go from 5 tickets to 3 or even 1)…
’Normally as the claim ticket transfers go down, and the tickets per item go down, the gold asked for item will also go down… this sometimes includes players taking their item off and reposting it for a lower value (2x taxes for posting)
’If (not ever happened yet) the user base supply runs out, and no tickets are being exchanged for said item, they will then revisit the idea of letting the “account bound not used” items be transferred for tradable ones… This will refresh the availability and users seeing the skins in game, and they are in hopes the trading will recommence…

Ya I found it interesting they “fixed” it to balance it for something that has never worked correctly to start with…
Kind of like putting a speed restrictor on a car with no tires….
I think the DEV team should spend some time on the wiki to see all the bugs posted, especially since the search function still fails to work…
I am far from a “web master” but all the forums sites I have ever ran (4 or 5 guild / clan type)… had these things called “groups” and based on the “group” a member of the forums was in they had different “permissions”… some of those options, were based on “categories” of posts…
Example…

—- News and Announcements
Groups and Permissions
—- Member – Read
—- Contributor – Read / Modify (own) / Post / Delete (own)
—- Moderator – Read / Modify (all) / Post / Delete (all)
This.. would remove the “reply box” from those who couldn’t “reply”, and the “new post” option for users who didn’t have permission to post… This really reduced some confusion for the forums…
We also always had this “search” function, that wasn’t just a box you typed into that would shift the page to “No Results” it actually would search through forums and find relevant posts…
I know it sounds crazy that such things exist… but I was using free legal forums and such, nothing as high end as this site!!
They care not about our suggestions….

Oh, I forgot to point out the retargeting “feature” when lets say… Ranger Great Sword 3… the swoop… I cant count how many times I have a target, 400ish away, I press 3….

This also happens a lot when you are calling target I have noticed…. “Oh, Mossman is back!,” ok, Ctrl T… “WTF, Why did I call that wolf over there?”
The problem is that if you are holding an object that is not a normal weapon… A rock / reflection crystal / rake / random other item in the world you can carry, that if you try to spawn clones they do not spawn clones.
Can this please get fixed… It has been broken since launch, and really makes some builds useless at times because the lack of clones being spawned…
Attached is a screenshot of me holding a Rake… I am set to spawn clones on dodge…
still happens a lot… Here area few examples I Love about it…
Dredge Fractal… non bomb side, you come around the corner / fighting by the sonic towers, and “C” keeps targeting the yellow Door that is barely in view, while Dredge are chewing on your face.
Ascalon Fractal… coming up on door with Dulfy, ballistas, burning oil…. “C” keeps targeting the Arrow Cart on the very room of the place, that I believe you can only AOE hit.
Dredge Fractal… Boss in middle room, where vets try to push down the town folk… “C” keeps getting yellow Earth Totem even if it is on other side of room…
Dredge Fractal part 2… End “Ele Shaman” boss… many times, only when she shells, no matter how hard you try to click on her to target her, you cant… so if you don’t all target on him someone in party probably will not be directly attacking him.
Mai Trin – Randomly times in the end room, when you press “C” you will get a Vet on the wall that isn’t even in combat… Or, you will be in mid face to face combat with Mai Trin, and it will retarget a Vet or the guy with the cannon….
The list goes on and on….
Bumping to keep this topic alive…. I wouldn’t need to bump it if the search function worked but that is another story…
Please Fix the LFG and Agony and Rewards to match up to something logical
How / Why does it take 10-15 forums on this – at least (if I could search I would have an exact count) before FINALLY someone from ANET acknowledges this problem?
This has been happening since around Dec 10th, and at least 1 forum posting a day has been started on this issue…

I have no problem with the skill on my guardian. Here is a screen shots of Tanker Belle using Skill 2 causing damage to 2 different enemies.

Note the 2nd screen shot… Search of a forum for the word “search” no results, so I guess this thread is new since no one has posted about the Search Function in the Forums and Website Bugs
Search has not worked in 6+ months, I believe it is close to a year… Yet the moderator of the forums doesn’t even know this problem exists? How is this possible?
If this cannot be fixed, please remove the “search” bar and button from the forum. Also, do not close forums instructing users to use a function that is known bad for ages… If you are unaware that a major function of the communication tool recommended both in game and on your other websites is not functioning, maybe you are in the wrong line of work.
How can they tell us to use a “tool” that hasn’t worked in ages, and has been reported at least 20 times…..

I found if you can take fall damage that gets you pancaked, it will “correct” this…
I tried building siege equipment, manually changing weapons in hero panel, and other things… When your in a zerg in WvWvW and are attacking the far keep of the zone, re-logging isn’t really an option… downed is risky, I am just glad I found a tall wall.
Good find on the exploit I think those are about the only way to get anything addressed or fixed in the game is if an exploit is attached… I think we just need to get the exploit word typed in here about 100 more times so ANET may actually read this exploit thread…. and address the gave breaking issue…

A Guild mate of mine had this problem start last night when we were running fractals…
I ran 3 fractal teams last night, and now this morning, the first team I attempt to join I receive this error totally out of the blue…
Kinda hard to play the game when you cant play the game… It would be in ANETs best interest to fix such problems… if any of them played the game they may realize the problems that are true problems in the game…
This work around… if you had to do it in game would be considered an exploit!!!! How many work arounds that are required for completion were considered “exploits”????
Be careful doing this, you may get banned from the Forums!!!
Why must we work around so much with GW2 lately… They cannot even get a simple search function to function for the forums…
And it is not like it broke last night… It has been broken for at least 3 months…
They say “never choose a book by its cover” but if the basic functionality of a website cannot function correctly, how can anyone have faith in the game functioning?
How quick are any of you to “find another site” if you cannot navigate a company website? I am quick to pay more for an item if the site is navigable… this is unacceptable on more levels than I can count….
Can we get sticky posts for each class, maybe even ones for specific dungeons, runes, sigils, and such as well…

I am unsure how many people are aware of how many problems with skills and traits there are. I recently retrained my Mesmer and realized based on the forums that well over 1/2 of the things related to the Mesmer have bugs and other issues. If players could go to 1 location, instead of 20 different wiki pages to see all the problems and bugs a lot of time and effort can be saved.
Also, with the search function not functioning on the forums, it is nearly impossible to know if others have reported a problem…. many problems have been reported10-30 times because no one knows about the prior posts…
bumping to spread awareness… seems many others still don’t realize how confusing all of this is…
If the search function worked in the forums (another whole topic) you could have searched and found this forum I started (and will bump now) some time ago… I started the same forum right after the update in the “Fractured / Broken” update posting but it was removed due to lack of kitten kissing to the Dev team in it…

I thought mine was working fine, and just tested it and it is displaying 70% correctly (I checked this right after spirit was introduced to game cause I really thought it would be bugged)
When they “fixed” the fact that you could farm silk (no clue why it was so important to fix within 2 weeks, while other “bugs and glitches” have been ingame for over a year), they broke many, many zones…
Don’t worry, I am sure it is on their 4 year plan….
Volcanus and Firebringer both have the default icon as well….
If the search function worked in the forums we may be able to identify all these posts at the same time…
In their list of priorities, I assume these skins are on the anchor page…
Yes this is happening a lot… I as many have and still are, submit the in game ticket about this….
Prior to the update it mainly happened at 1-9 fractals, since the “Fractured / Broken Update” it is happening randomly through all levels…
The only real “acknowledgement” we have gotten that acknowledges this problem by the ANET staff is the closed / merged / disappearing forum posts on this issue.
I believe I have submitted over 100 in game tickets on this, and have not even gotten a “Thanks for stopping by…”
Do you have the condition showing, or could you be “walking”?

You could always buy a name change contract and change your character to “Timmy… Timmy Timmy Timmy”…

Some forums on exploits and bugs really need to be acknowledged publicly to the player base.
There have been multiple posts, about major exploits that are discussed at length on the forums, that have real impact to the players and the gameplay.
I am not going to call out the post by name and detail, but it had to do with daily achievement points.
I think it would be much more in the interest of informing the player base, and letting others know that may discover this now, that it is being addressed.
The title for the Post should remain the same, all posts by players removed, to maintain the integrity of the game as much as possible.
And a post of “There is an exploit that has to deal with the daily achievement points exploit that is being investigated and will be fixed as soon as possible.”
If ANET doesn’t think their dedicated players deserve some type okittennowledgement for our reporting and acknowledging problems we discover, why would we wish to report them in the future?

Same problem here, I find that sometimes with the right zoom it wont rubber band as much as fully zoomed… but that may just be me getting lucky….
As for “no word from ANET on when this will be resolved” how about some acknowledgement that they acknowledge the bug? Gotta start somewhere…
Based on the “lets change everything about fractals a year after they came out”…
The reward tier is lvl 41-50…
Some, not all, players are confused because they ran a 41-49, and expect the lvl 50 to be a separate tier…

Bumping this… Some teams I am joining… it is taking longer to explain to players what rewards / ar / difficulty is involved in a run because of these setting being all over the place…
The total confusion is turning a lot of players away from fractals because they don’t understand what is what… You know how many people run lvl 10 and lvl 20 thinking “oh its the first in the next group of rewards”….
I shall keep bumping this until it is acknowledged and tested by others…
This is a huge impeding my fun factor…. I run a lvl 47 and lvl 21 character through fractals… I know others do similar….
Just wanted to make sure everyone is aware of a few bugs I have noticed….
1. The search function on the forums, isn’t working…
2. The Howler still sticks Howling… this is causing hearing loss…
3. Mesmers still cannot spawn clones while holding world items, such as torches, this makes running / skipping content difficult at times…
4. Pets seem to be pulling agro again.. this was “fixed” a few patches ago, but seems to be happening.
5. There seems to be a bug in the QA department, that some bugs are slipping through and not noticed…
5. There seems to be a few bugs in the Development department, where bugs are not being addressed.
6. There seems to be a few bugs in the ANet Customer Care department, where bugs we are reporting are not being addressed…..

I am confused why none of the 3 options matchup at all…. I think all criteria should fall together…
It is hard enough to understand why the reward levels were changed a year after they came out, to not match the difficulty levels… but now with new players trying to do them… it is rather hard to understand why the following –
Level 20 fractal, requires 25 AR, rewards the same as a level 11, and is on the 3rd drop down of LFG that goes all the way to level 39 postings that include Mistlock Instabilities…
Just a random though from left field here…
LFG / Rewards / Agony could all match something like…

11-20
21-30
31-40
41-50
Could even go so far as the LFG interface could reflect “Scale 11-20 / AR 10”

So… you were trying random codes and found an armor “of Testing” and deemed it “not appropriate” prior to it existing…
With all the problems in the game, that already exist, how can you even conceive complaining about a bug, for something that doesn’t even exist in game, other than in code, that by name gives the impression of… I don’t know… Testing…
The naked characters have no specific parts other than a butt crack…
I that what is not appropriate is you data mining the game trying to discover items that have not been introduced.
Are you attempting to take advantage of future updates by guessing what materials may be needed to craft things, and stocking up on those to control the market upon their release?
My lvl 20 doesn’t even have an amulet.
My lvl 80 runs all zerker equipment (no special boosts)
No special foods or anything else in use….
Problem:
Account wide fractal level is 40s
Character lvl 80 does lvl 4 fractal, gets 8k karma
Character lvl 20 does lvl 4 fractal, gets 1.7k karma
Both while doing lvl 4 fractal get same coin reward
Why is the Karma not equal
J Season, people have complained about that since launch… Seems the math is to hard for them to implement, or they enjoy the extra off the top they don’t advertise to the players…
My “Personal Reward Level” for fractals is lvl 40… My account is still doing the work of the lower level fractal… Yes they upscale my character, but why would the extra rewards not be scaled up? I receive the same gold on my lvl 80 as I do my lvl 20…
Long Story Short…
My personal reward lvl for fractals is 40
I run a lvl 4 on my lvl 80 character, I get 8k karma
I run a lvl 4 on my lvl 20 character, I get 1.7 k karma
Patch notes state that if you run a lower lvl fractal, with a higher reward level, you receive more Karma… Why is my lower level character not receiving it correctly.
Please fix this… on top of the many many other problems in fractals (such as daily chest randomly not appearing, and yes, the reward brackets were separated)
Sure this has been suggested before, but thought I would throw the idea at the wall again…
I know Relics and Pristine Relics are tradable for some things, such as rings, back armor, 20 slot bags and such…
What about when you have over a stack of Pristine Relics… 20 slot bags on all your characters… 14k regular relics…. and are dying to just that that 2nd Fractal Sword Drop so their Mesmer can dual wield them?
Currently, other than getting a ring and selling it for 4 silver to the merchant, we can do nothing with the bulk of extra items we are receiving… 90+ rings that cannot be salvaged (expecting some options in the future for this) and the like…
All other “dungeon tokens” can be traded for armor, weapons, and such that can be salvaged, thrown into the mystic toilet, in the situation that you are trying for a precursor.
My Suggestion:
Add another Trader in the Outpost / Entrance to fractals
Trader will change 75 Relics to 1 Pristine or vice versa
Trader will exchange 1,000 Relics, or 20 Pristine for a Fractal Weapon Skin
This should take a brand new player 1 week to over a month to accumulate this many, depending on their playing style and dedication. Said player starting at lvl 1, will then be lvl 20+… They will have had multiple opportunities for the skins to drop as well…
I am unsure how many relics a player gets if they are farming them or if there is any reduction for multiple runs or such… But 1,000 felt like a nice number.
