How are you supposed to dodge if you can’t see the person attacking you?
Mesmer’s can’t “eated” bunker classes. Moa is an elite skill with a large cooldown and the only people who get owned by moa are dummies who stand there and think they’ve been sheeped in WoW. Oh and here’s a hint for you about moa. It has a cast time and can be avoided!! It’s only OP against morons, and honestly they could take the skill away and I wouldn’t care. All a thief has to do is hit his F & 1-5 keys and it’s GG.
Yes…everyone else in the game is bad and just picking on poor thieves and no other class. No one knows how to play yet oddly the only class everyone is kittening about are theives. Why aren’t they complaining about Necros? Why not Rangers?…..and why not (gasp) Warriors with their one ability they can bug out. Keep telling yourselves that you’re skilled and everyone else is bad. You guys are so FoTM it’s not even funny. Just about every sPvP game in the Mists has at least 5 thieves. On more than one occasion I’ve been on servers with 7 +. Now why do you think that happens?
Thieves are ridiculous. They can take you from 100 to 0 in LESS than 3 seconds. There have been times where I just look away from the monitor for like a second and then I hear that “clink” sound. Before I can even react I’m dead. However OP people might think Mesmers are, multiply it by 3 and that’s a thief. Can a mesmer beat a thief? Yes, but there is like ZERO room for error, and when you do survive his cooldowns and begin whipping his kitten he’ll stealth and run away until his cooldowns are back up.
Hmm you might be the first Mesmer to create one. If so, let us know. BTW, have they fixed the map completion issue yet? I’m thinking of leveling a different toon to make a legendary just because map completion would screw my mesmer with the star that doesn’t appear on my clones.
Moa is only OP against idiots who stand there and eat up attacks like Pringles. Maybe I’m a super noob, but I like the group invisibility the most. I love having an extra stealth ability, and the cooldown on it isn’t that bad.
For leveling that will work. You have a lot of survivability tools as a mesmer. If you’re going full on dps and use power/prec/crit dmg gear then you’ll need things like decoy, blink, and null field to help you survive. I had a hard time doing stories at first until I could beef up my traits some…so it might be a little rough starting out.
Later if you’re having issues with survivability in dungeons maybe take 15 points out of illusions and put them into chaos. That way you’ll get reduced dmg for each illusion and also receive protection from the 15 point trait.
See I was originally phantasm spec’d, but I was running with guildies last night and felt pretty worthless because my phantasms where always instantly killed from all the aoe of zergs and arrow carts. I was looking at this spec because with focus you can pull people off the top of the towers and also reflect projectiles with temporal curtain and warden (when traited).
BTW I thought feedback was target based…so if you had an arrow cart targeted it would place the feedback bubble on top.
The other option I was thinking was maybe doing a glamour build that would give my glamours blindness/confusion. Like this:

With that build though I think I would have to go heavy into condition damage which every time I’ve tried a heavy condition build I felt like I wasn’t killing anything…just adding irritation haha.
Oh one more thing. Two of my guildies I group with are support build. One is a shout warrior and other is a support guardian, so I was looking to add some dps to the group. Like I said phantasm build was just getting annihilated by the aoe, so I was thinking of an anti-aoe. I know it’s kind of supporty too, but…I don’t know…I can’t figure out what to do haha

I felt like in WvWvW all you do is avoid arrow carts and ranged so I was thinking of going with a build like this:

I was thinking of going with berserker gear. Any thoughts on what stats would supplement this build well?
