Oh and maybe I’m being picky but I do find half the thread being about gvgs pretty boring and unnecessary. The Invites are fine but the bragging and argueing is kind of annoying.
How about gathering names and sending private messages?
i find no problem with anyone bragging/talking about it if they also trow in a link to a recording of it, if any so others also can see it and might get ides or learn stuff from it
tho this match-up is a little strange with all the crashes so it wont show a true winner but who have been haveing most luck with not getting crashes all the time and stuff like that.
but i like the match-up so far and in general it has been one of the better i have been in for a long time
Well then they could be more entertaining convos
But they’re mostly the same.
But anyway I met a few guys from Dzag yesterday who are sort of pro n stuff :P and they just talked ** bout people from their own server. That’s what prob got me annoyed. I don’t mind the whole concept, I even find it good even if it is contrary to the idea of WvW. Just the attitudes of some are starting to develop in a questionable direction. But you get that in all games. Quite typical for PvP modes.
As for the vids I rarely watch them and if I do I skip through, must admit some are nicely made, quite some effort.
Apart from that I think the server ranks would still be the same without the dc-problem, because during Dzags sleepy time alot is turned and Surmia just has the bigger playerbase. Dzags WvW players seem to be diminishing also.
Some of us have been on GH and seen their/your gameplay, but I think we can all agree that the current GH is not whakitten used to be. For the better!
I cannot give enough credit to PRXM, you guys have come so far, so fast. Keep it up guys!
@Genotix. I think the definition of a “fact” is that you can actually confirm it.
The bugs have been mighty annoying, we crashed every time we logged into EB spawn, we couldn’t enter Dz borderland nor get anywhere close to our own Bay.
Gunnar’s Hold have pulled an amazing week. The blobs in prime are getting to the point where the game lags out, but late prime we got some great fights (especially against Hot and FURY).
All in all, its been an alright week.Thank you Mizu for the compliments about my guild (PRXM).
My guild mates have come a long road, and the few times i get to run with them at prime time, i am more and more amazed. Same goes to your guild even if i had my disagreements with some of your members about things said at the forums, i am impressed with your actual gameplay.
About the fact you mentioned, we knew about it 5 minutes after it happened
Yeah can confirm, this morning I met a PRXM mesmer, started a little fight which seemed as if it had some potential to last a while. Got drawn too close to the spawn tower and had to back off a bit. While so, saw a thief go into stealth on the mound beside and with the necessary skills on CD didn’t manage to survive both. (=> condition Nekro)
Boring story yeah .. but I’m glad the mesmer had fun jumping all over my poor dead corpse.
Thanks anyway cuz I got my daily done (condition remover + ambient killer) which was my only aim to enter WvW anyway.
Back to the matchup though, it’s been quite nice. On most days its easy to find open field fights with even numbers. On other days you get the feeling the others are always twice the amount
But that’s always an easy excuse.

…
You know if you get an invisible bag, the stuff in it won’t be put in your bank when you deposit all collectibles?
Yeah but thanks for the info. I’ve guessed that’s the reason they haven’t just given the option to not stack away pets. I’ve had invisible bags before but I found them to be annoying.
Also I would have to replace a bigger bag atm, which just isn’t worth it.
Anyway don’t see it as complaint, I was just mentioning it though probably being awkward.
…
As you wrote a long text, you obviously want people to read it, too. Just to let you know, I would probably have read it with paragraphs.
I played on Underworld the first few months and now on Dzagonur and would say it’s pretty mixed and I really don’t think there are big differences between the servers. Most people are nice, friendly and helpful.
Just gotta stay away from some “pro-small scaller gvg guys” in WvW and in PvE stay away from the “pro farmers”. Been noticing in Southsun during this event that alot of people will rather do dmg and rush to the next event than ress somebody.
But there are always people who mention where something is going on and will give useful informations if you ask.
I wouldn’t change a server in the hope to find a friendlier community. Much easier to try and find a nice guild with similar interests.
I’d recommend it personally. Dynamic events are great exp and they are constantly running and are easy to complete. It may not be the fastest exp, but it is fast, and it’s rewarding in loot as well.
I leveled from 62 to 80 on Sunday at Southsun and also got ~25 gold while doing it.
Some people get bored after an hour or two of the same 4-5 events.
Anyway, can confirm that exp is pretty fast there atm and not to be beaten. If you get your timing right you’ll level quite fast. (I’m level 80 but been getting alot of Skillspoints) Just be prepared to die pretty fast and often.
And silly me was wondering why I’ve been having to ress so many upscaled there lately. Might actually try it out myself.
I’d gather some minis, too if they wouldn’t constanly be removed when cleaning my inventar. So I wouldn’t care for a Pet.
Alot of the free stuff are usually pretty useless anyway (not being unthankful), such as the town cloths (cap and witch hat).
The Precursor idea isn’t that bad. 10 Treasurechests with the chance for one would be fine for me. If nothing comes out of it, then fine. But that won’t happen. Most likely something like
- a massive cake-jumping puzzle
- presents scattered around in Tyria … open them and Mobs with the heads of the developers team attack you
- an art competition I can’t participate in cuz I suck at art and the prizes are for americans only anyway
- all castles in WvW turn into cake-castles for a week, and the trebs are big candles and shoot cakes
Well in the end I don’t care, as long as it’s fun ^^
Ermm .. there is also the possibility to buy half the gems with real money (as you say a lower price would be acceptable) and that way need lees gold for the transfer.
These days with the buffs in Southcove it’s pretty easy to make money. Imho that’s the better solution, than deleting your chars.
Yeah, that sounds like one of those warriors who always jump ahead in events to kill half the mobs before others get there
Probably the most effective char for PvE as you kill fast and can take the dmg. Out of my point of view a con is, that a warrior is boring to play.
Just level them all for a couple of levels to find out yourself. Best way to find out about a class + jump into the specific section of the forum and read or watch vids.
After VoTF, xxx leave Surmia too.
The next ???
Yeah I wonder which guild will leave next.
[…]
Tbh, VcY would of never moved to another server if it wasn’t for the problem of SFR after the free transfers and pugs started to ruin SFR. It’s rebuilding now what is great to see and got some of the guilds back. VcY scouted many servers, and decided upon RoS for many reasons, but sadly Anet scoring system is a bit silly, but we will push to move up another tier as i know it must be as boring and lame as it is for us right now.
Blaming Anets scoring system is kinda lame though, as it hasn’t changed since start meaning this problem had been around long enough before you changed server. You just clearly underestimated our tier or overestimated your own capabilities. Also you’re not the first this happens to.
And saying another guild left due to another game is also not really valid, as you apprently didn’t join after communicating .. it was just coincidence.
What is actually boring and lame is to see guilds coming down and bragging about their skills while trying to act modest. You’re the ones who chose your playstyle. Usually I try not to get offensive, but it sure is quite annoying that guilds from every high winning server (and we’ve been having them for ages) have been saying how bored they are and we should help them pass.
Nothing would change for us lul.
I actually leveled from 0-80 with D/D – Staff. Did less damage than others (had a couple of self made bad builds
) but still good with also pretty good survivability.
Meanwhile I’m using scepter/dagger – staff, due to the chill factor in W3 .. cuz I slowly want more challenge I’m seriously thinking about making a d/d power build again. Might test it a bit in PvP first though
Epidemic is kind of a waste with d/d as they do nearly no conditions by themself. Planning on trying out Spectral Wall, Blood is Power and Well of Darkness or Suffering. Though haven’t tried it out yet, so no rely on me
Where is your nightcrew at, had to fight doors all night?
Wow you’re good
When it comes to small-medium patches I prefere live-updates with quickfixes over public testservers, maybe only because I see them as a waste of time. I’ve experienced quite a few times that things went well on the testserver but caused enough problems when going live.
The real problem is that some quickfixes aren’t quick, even if I can’t imagine the solution to be that hard. Then again I’m no pro at programming and bla. I imagine they are doing their best. Some people on forum have probably never had a job.
I’ve got about 40 Unidentified Dyes on my Bank atm, started to gather before Laurels were introduced. I’ve opened many too though as my original plan was to have all colours .. which I realized to be pretty pointless as I use the same 4 or 5 meanwhile and loads just look the same. But they are so temptating when in the inventory :/
When I get U.Dye I usually get 3-5 in short time and then none for an even longer time.
I was gonna suggest to buy then with Laurels, too. I’ve been thinking about doing that with my (to this moment) 100 Laurels. Problem is I’m slowly aiming for the Bifrost .. if bought now I’m sure one frustrated day I’d open ’em all.
Yeah, but why buy a new Computer for one game?
.Build your own, much cheaper.
Pre built ones are garbage.
That’s still buying it and still costs enough if the purchase is meant to be worth it.
Or, while we’re constructing great ideas, how about just one massive server, in which people get forced to play in one of three teams during a weeks match.
But to be serious I’d rather see an improvement of the weekly tier system, than go to daily or even 1/3 daily matches.
A 2-3 hour fight, which can be loads of fun atm, just wouldn’t be worth the time anymore (which it often already isn’t). Upgrades would have to cost less and finish faster to be worth it. And I don’t think Anet is after a lower penyasink, as their current course seems to towards more money spent in W3.
Yeah, but why buy a new Computer for one game?
I’ve been thinking about it though tbh as I still have a 2,3 ghz quad core, 4mb ram and a ATI Radeon 7800. But like said, buying a new PC just for W3 isn’t really worth it .. and upgrading wouldn’t make sense neither. Apart from that W3 is quite playable 80% of the time (calling 15-20 fps playable) so it’s not worth it for me yet.
Yeah been really mixed weather here. Look out the windows n it’s all sunny, as soon as you reach the door to go out it’s all rainy …
Anyway nice to see we got some points but ashame I have no time for GW this weekend. Just to this point it has no impact on anything anyway …
Too bad … I overwrote Karma Set Runes worth 4-6g each with cheap 30s runes the other day xD And yeah I got enough spare transmutation thingies lying around.
Ah well ..things happen.
What I find most annoying is having to do a dungeon over and over again. As was suggested above I would also prefer to have to run each Dungeon Story and each path once.
Getting dungeon badges is probably the easiest part.
It may be easy, maybe only for some but not for all. And apart from maybe being easy, I just don’t really want to do a dungeon over and over again. And rushing Dungeons is something I just don’t do, due to my personality.
But the thread once again shows that in a group of many, people have different goals and preferences. It’s not possible to satisfy everybody to the same level.
Though the majority does seem to agree that the RNG part isn’t good, it’s not such a big part of the path towards the legendary. Using the Mystic Forge is a choice made by players to RNG. Often it would cost less to simply save up and buy the Precursor.
About W3 .. in all previous MMOs I’ve played PvP got me so worked up that I didn’t enjoy that part of the game and ended up not playing it. So at the beginning I avoided but later grew fond of W3. So I can understand people who prefere to do a JP than kill other players and there are quite a few reasons to avoid W3, may it be lag, annoying, missing skills, lack of interest. It may not be most efficient time wise but if no stalker is around and you don’t fall all the time (some days just suck :P ) then BL JPs are much calmer. The nice thing about badges is that you can choose which way you prefer to gather them.
Summed up, it isn’t easy for the majority to obtain a legendary, it’s just boring/annoying, which it shouldn’t be. There are plenty of ways to adjust things on Anets side, but somebody will always be unhappy with the results. Then there’s the player who can decide to take things slow and as they come. That’s what I’ve been doing since I’ve seen the objectives for a legendary.
(edited by Mike.5091)
Report them. . . . . . .
Actually that has annoyed me on my twinks, when downscaled jump to each mob in an event and I can be happy to kill a few myself. But I have that on my 80s chars to, that there’s always a race for the mobs in events or for Dolyaks in W3. People often just don’t care about the others. But I’m drifting off topic.
Downscaled player’s should have a harder life in lower areas, though still having an advantage. People including myself often just rush through the maps to complete eventhough there is alot to see.
The lower Worldevents are finished way too fast also, I guess just because of the downscaled. Jormag can takes 15~30 Minutes and Behemoth only 5.
A content made too easy and hardly rewarding just leads to fairly empty areas. Anet wanted all areas to stay populated afaik. So making it harder for downscaled and a low % for T6 mats could be nice solution. (But I have heard of people who are toplevel and actually enjoy running in low-level areas and one-hitting mobs)
What I find most annoying is having to do a dungeon over and over again. As was suggested above I would also prefer to have to run each Dungeon Story and each path once.
The world completion is fine as it is on my behalf. It’s not really that hard to get it done if you keep your eyes open. The Badges can be obtained fairly easy, too, though I do understand some might find W3 as frustrating as dungeons are for me.
I haven’t yet started to concentrate on gathering/farming/buying materials as I don’t even see myself owning a precursor any time soon (the prices for Precursors seem to rise faster than my income). Though I don’t like this fact, I find it acceptable, as a Legendary should be extremely rare. If Anet doesn’t want people to obtain a Legendary as fast as they have, they shouldn’t really introduce a quest to obtain one.
And I don’t think Legendaries should be sellable. Account bound would be nice once crafted as I’m still not even sure I want to make a Legendary, because
1. Who knows if my necro will stay my main.
2. I might find other weapons/builds to be more fun as the game continues.
3. Many of the effects are just too colourful and/or annoying. A few more legendary skins (and sound effects) would be nice.
4. I hate wasting hard earned money on RNG. I rather hold something in my hand for the money I spent
At the very least change it so that the cast for stomping is guaranteed to be shorter than the time it takes to res a downed player.
Fighting hard, doing everything right, just to see two people res someone faster than your stomp can cast is frankly pathetic.
So i’d like to see it changed so that players can only rally off players, and players in a downed state take longer to res. Watching 5 people pick up a downed player in less than a second is the perfect example of how broken this is. Compare time to kill to time to res.
Literally every mechanic in this game favours zerging at the moment.
This isa solution I can accept most aren’t good but this one would work because yes the res time is to quick and is annoyung when some1 resses off a moa or something
Actually half the people get downed pretty fast and there are quite a few mechanics that protect while ressing etc.
Some classes can already use stomp effectivly already. Making stomp even faster would be quite annoying to both parties.
I think it would be easier to lower the max number of people able to ress a downed player (even though I’m against changing anything).
I like downed state and rally both. Just forces you think a bit more/pay more attention and yes, it can turn a fight. But it’s a system everybody can use.
In a 1vs1 not long ago, I had this Engi downed and had low hp myself. In belief of myy victory I didn’t pay attention. He rallied due to a yellow dolyak and downed-killed me
I learned the hard way. I see it more as a strategic option.
The downed state is imo extra-hp, which everbody (except us Necros) have in an equal manner. Nobody generally benefits more from it than others.
I also like happy feeling when you’re nearly dead, have given up inside to suddenly pop back up and be able to reenter the fight (or escape :P)
In my experience, the last man standing is the coward one, the one that left before the rest wipe and even before it was clear that there would be a wipe.
So technically (and still in my experience), it’s the worst player because he doesn’t know his strength and how much he adds to the group.
If he continues fighting with the group, then I have nothing to add, he’s good, but in all other case (and in my experience, yes again), he is not.
That doesn’t make sense. Somebody who knows his strength and runs because he cba to die isn’t a bad player.
In various occasions in a Dungeon where only me and another guy are still alive, ofc I’ll try to back off. What’s the point in trying 50% of the mobs by myself. If I see a reasonable chance though I will try.
You seem to be one of those who jump right into a fight without coordination. To die after 10 seconds. Well done, according to your definition it makes you a good player.
Best solution anyway is to have a fixed team or a guild team and at least one experienced player.
Just yesterday I tried to do the Eternal JP, ran past an enemy without attacking, failed a jump, he and his 3 mates came and jumped all over me. Got me a little annoyed as JP are annoying enough already, I only wanna get it done once.
I personally don’t want to fight in JP in W3 and don’t start a fight. If it’s a 1vs1 I’m alright with it though. Just the groups “camping” a JP are kinda lame. And I cba to call a group of players to do a JP .. I got better things to do. So I just left .. I’ll get it done oneday.
A single person camping BL JP when people do the first jump is also kinda lame also, though I’ve never met somebody do that myself. At least it would somehow go against my pride waiting for people with low health after a jump to kill. Dunno why some people are so proud of it.
Still, as long as JP are in W3, killing others in there is totally legit. Why have a JP in W3 if you can’t kill each other there. So it’s either leave things as they are or just remove them (which I actually think is planned).
Easy solution is to make the squadcap larger, introduce Guildtags, as somebody said grouptag the com (though I find it annoying) and have the commanders communicate with each other better and nicer.
Most of them do this pretty well. But often enough the language I see from various people in W3 can be quite horrible and elite (like I saw yesterday “ur lvl 43? then u’re wrong here”). I bet the other com wasn’t asked very nicely, rather than spammed/yelled at to turn his tag off. But that’s just an assumption.
I’m 95% in TS when I’m in W3 and still first thing I’ll do is join the squad (somehow I’ve never tripped over a full one) and I personally don’t want to leave the squad for somebody who cba to go on TS :P
Anyway it’s a generell problem that people often don’t push with the commander. If you say 80% were in TS and 50% didn’t push, that leaves 30% who didn’t push eventhough being in TS. That means either the commander didn’t give clear instructions, people weren’t able to follow for whatever reasons or they were too scared to follow.
It’s too easy to blame somebody else for your own death. I don’t believe people should be able to vote somebodies Tag away and a greater squad is more useful than being able to turn another tag off.
I think a problem with that solution is that powerbuilds also have conditions on their auto attacks and would also deal more dmg.
From a wvw point of viewconditions on gates would mean that these go down much faster, especially with stacking conditions and +% more dmg.
It would mean gates would have to have higher “health” to stay as defensive, which would mean a condition build still doesn’t really do more dmg.
I do like the Idea in generell though.
Guess I gotta get started doing dungeons
Been too lazy sofar …
The rest is np.
Daily always resets at 1pm our time, too (Germany here). And you did have a whole month after all.
The events your referring to are .. yeah events. That’s something else than a daily/monthly count.
