+1 to all who play non “prime times” and keep upgrades going on towers, keeps, supply camps, and SMC. Also shout out to those playing off times for their “servers” who havoc, and take things, and those who fight as well.

Please Anet do not break WvW down to “set” time zones for severs. It would nix a lot of us who do play odd hours due to not working the typical “day time” jobs from being able to play with our friends. (And yes some of us play both NA prime time, and off times. )

I’m just going to say something some won’t want to hear.
What about the capping when some servers who lack NA Prime players lose what they have to servers with a large NA prime player base. To be honest most in this thread only seem to be thinking of “night capping” as happening during OCX/SEA/EU times, when in reality it varies server to server, tier to tier, and sometimes week to week.
A lot of the WvW population, does not WvW every day, certain guilds do raids on x,y,z day which might cause those days to be lopsided in wvw vs the servers they are fighting. While other times players decide that they are going to go to the mythical “outdoors” instead of playing.
I think the battle shouldn’t be “nightcapping” x,y,z time, but it should be more of “How to help players who wvw, when their server has low wvw player population during x,y,z time”
Think of it this way.
Your “night” is my “day”, and I live in NA. My Evening starts at 7-8am EST. My points, and time should mean nothing less, and be counted as nothing less, just because “you” have to go to school, sleep, work, whatever.
Now there are times when the opposing server has 50+ on 1 map, yet we only have 20-30 in total in WvW, and other days when we have the same amount in WvW as our enemies, and even the days we have more.
I do see an issue with servers having time zones they are weak during, and I think there should be more done to level the playing field, but it’s not the point system which should be changed. What should be changed is buffs the players get. (You know how they added the “out manned” buff, it’s nothing more then an indication of a golem rush/blob porting in.) They should change the buffs and benefits of placing siege, ect… if a server is greatly outnumbered on a map.
That way it not only helps during the “night” but it also helps servers who send a havoc group off to 1 map with 10 people, and are met with 30+.
Things it could include could be:
Increased magic find%
Increased Health (enough to actually make a difference)
The ability to “Not” count towards PPK
Increased movement speed, or many other buffs.
Anet could even add in where siege is buffed for the player using it so long as they have the “out manned buff” and such “on them”
(List goes on.)
Many other things could be added, and tweaked. And it could give players an incentive to play during that time, defend, or even help them havoc/siege objectives without making players who play during different time zones feel less appreciated then others who play during “Prime times”
Heck a buff that provides assistance and incentive to play while “out manned” might even help spread players out over maps, so you do not log into seeing EBG queue 30+ with having only 2-3 players in the remaining 3 maps.

Why would you get the points for achievements that you didn’t do? It’s not like you can’t go through the process to unlock another precursor.

The issue is servers are now listed as full due to WvW participation. While you may be very inactive during 1 timezone, you may have VERY high participation in another which could cause the “full” status to be on.
Or there could be a delay in a status being “full” to not from wvw participation.
I know I am interested more in knowing exactly how the server status system works, and if it’ll be broken down to specific “prime times” or not, or how delayed the status lock outs for “full” are, ect… to possibly see the individual servers balance population out a bit on their own accord.

Im curious if being in a squad will nix the option to see other commander tags on the map.
Many times I coordinate between multiple commanders who are pinned ont he same maps, and I’d like to see all of them if I choose to, not be only able to see the commander’s tag of the squad I am in.

Players who are new to or not very experienced in WvW simply do not grasp what they ask.
So you can identify with what the WvW community is saying, imagine if we (the WvW community) started asking that mega servers be taken away, that they should go back to how it was, this would probably benefit WvW as we could return to recruiting in PvE knowing that the people we get are indeed on our server. Now how many non WvW players would be unhappy with our request ? This is essentially what you are doing OP, you’re asking to change our game mode to cater to you without regard for those of us who have supported the mode from the beginning.
If you want to enjoy WvW that’s great, find a guild on your server and join them or convince your existing guild to transfer. Don’t make requests that benefit you because all of a sudden you want to go slumming and expect the WvW community to give you a thumbs up.
Look at EotM, it’s an abomination of WvW, I don’t speak for everyone but I think it’s safe to say the majority of WvW players (those of us who WvW 99% of the time) do not want anything like EotM to be integrated into the real WvW.
I’d be happier if they reverted back to the old PvE system and just got rid of Mega Servers tbh.

Guardians will stay guardians unless they wish they had rolled a ranger.
Rangers will stay Rangers unless they want to be a healer.
Thieves will stay thieves unless they… Ok who the hell knows what thieves will do.
Mesmers will not be seen…. Get it? Get it!?
Engineers will be stealth finding spam bots.
Elementalist will be wondering why they got another main hand dagger.
Necros will be going to town reaper style, since all they have ever wanted was to cut people up with over sized weaponary.

Sorry but many times guilds claim places like Garrison/Home EBG keep, and bother to not run a single buff or fight to defend, yet the structures do not change as often as others, so it’d falsely put guilds into “lead”.

Sounds affordable to me.
It may be affordable to “you” however many commanders, and players who lay the siege everyone uses don’t find it nearly as “affordable”. You would be very surprised how quickly the gold cost stacks up when commanding, or even placing siege to defend with.

I can say I spend as much time in PvE, as it takes my character to LOAD into the Map from log in screen and port to a wvw map. (Sooooo 5-10seconds worth of pve I guess.)
So what are you doing the 5 minutes WvW is closed for reset? Secret private WvW server?
I don’t get to play “reset” at the start due to sleeping for work. (I am in NA but work 3rd shift.. So I play OCX-SEA and sometimes early EU.)
Never have to worry about the 5mins wvw is down for reset.
However in that case the times I used to be on for reset, it was spent in LA, spamming f to enter the map at the portal. (Long long ago.)

I don’t want to step on any toes as I am sure many are excited to play Tempest.
I’m not sure how true that is.
Many I’ve talked to see no point at all in playing Tempest.
In fact I’ve seen so many things about tempest it does not attract my attention at all, and I have mained an Ele since Beta. (I didn’t get to test it in beta, and from what I have read/seen, I’m glad I didn’t waste my time.)
I think that Anet changed the class, and made it less versatile which is the whole reason I cared to play Ele over any other class for the past 3 years anyways.

Uh, no. Before the megaservers existed, guilds recruited people on their own server. WvW wasnt a problem then. Now, I see tons of guilds recruiting in PvE without even saying the server they are on. New players will see this long before they join WvW and think its normal… only to find out they are on another server.
Also, the OP is a horrible idea. It wouldnt work. Everyone playing on 5 different WvW servers at any time? Yeah… no. If you want a server to win, just have those 500 that repped Deso last week rep SFR this week. GG.
Most WvW guilds only recruit from the server they are based off of, since beta. In addition to that most guilds into PvX, only recruited for the server they were on for WvW, due to WvW being limited to a players server. (Many PvX guilds knew this prior to mega servers, though it seems not all did.)
What you quoted has never changed. Guilds which were cross servers have never been able to wvw together. As wvw has always been server based. (Which is something many over look.) I guess I didn’t word it very clearly in the original post. sorry :/

And then guilds can stick to recruiting from their “server” and not cross servers for wvw participation.

While PPK is fun, and I like it. Right now we do not have PPK and even with equal forces in WvW some groups just high-tail it back inside their keep/tower and sit on Siege or fight in their siege aoe’s. (Believe me I’ve poked and poked enemies with 10-15more then my force and seen it.)
Add in PPK and yeah…the enemies running happens more when equal numbers. :/
@the night capping comment, get over yourself. Not everyone’s night and day are the same. Heck I live in the NA, but my “night” is the “day” for most in NA. Should points I get against another server count less just because I work a night time job?

Let’s not stop at the weather nodes, lets go straight back to beta/launch with bringing back the orbs.
Just give them a different buff/reason to be taken/held.
Heck Anet said they’d bring them back, then never did, when a simple fix of “owning the keep the orb was in” to pick up the orb from the keeps, would have fixed the fly hacking issue.

I think that server loyalty is important, though it shouldn’t only be rewarded to those who stayed on their home servers for the past 3 years.
I started in beta on SBI, and at launch on SBI however at launch due to the amount of people going in WvW and 6+hr long queues my friends and I left that server so we could wvw, as a guild without waiting over 6+ hours to get friends through queues on any wvw map.
Am I on SBI currently? no, however I shouldn’t miss out on server loyalty rewards due to not being on the server I started the game on.
Maybe try to reward idea to players who stay on their server for a month or longer, and have the rewards go up each month to better items. (Think of it as how the monthly log in rewards progress each day to a different item.)

I really see nothing wrong with the downed state in WvW.
You just have to learn how to cleave downies/stomp instead of letting the enemy team get a rally off of one of your allies.

I check not only the map I am on at the time, but I also watch how the enemy movement is on the remaining maps I am not on, as well as listen to scouts for call outs on those maps at the same time.
You will notice some attacks are very predictable.

In WvW there is always some point during a match where you see 1 of the 3 servers passing by or using the 2nd, of the 3 servers in wvw to take an objective from the remaining of the 3.
Now it is not new, and does happen to and against all 3 servers.

Orbs…Culling…portal bombs (unlimited)…plus AOE’s that weren’t capped.

To the OP.
In threads like these you will get more server pride thrown at you along with servers accusing one another of doing something, and general light drama. (Rarely beyond light drama.)
The best thing I can suggest is to not look at the scores.(Servers have weeks they slack, or are in a bad match, which can throw scores off.)
I do suggest figuring out which type of community you would be looking for due to most of the wvw servers having a wvw community of sorts. Also what your preferred playstyle is like, or if you’re looking to join a guild or not, ect…

The main issue I see between wvw and pve focused players is mindset, some on each side dislikes the attitudes of those on the other side. Pve players need to understand wvw is not like pve where you cant just go in without proper gear, builds, refusing to use communications etc etc and wvw players need to understand pve players might be interested in learning wvw and will be put off by harsh and elitist reactions. Those who are willing to learn/teach are usually welcomed, but there is always that stigma of the pve’er in wvw, we all joke about it. But anyone willing to learn is always welcome, those that act like they know everything and refuse to adapt to the fact that wvw is not the same as pve are not always met with open arms.

If getting supplies was as easy as killing the enemy, PVE players would be focused non stop due to the probability of them not running builds which they can survive wvw with effectively.
Also if gathering supply was as simple as running to nodes non stop, you’d have more “node farming” then there currently is. (Though it’d be fun as a theif to wait at nodes to gank players lol.)

I play in T1 daily, and I know I barely ever run into Queues due to being one of the people who play at nights/early mornings. (Aka what is considered, OCX/SEA/Early EU times.)
I might if lucky run into 1 queue during SEA on JQ. ^.~ Generally 15 or less, or weekends the 1 queue might push 25? (Either way, they don’t last long.)

FA isn’t even close enough with rolling an additional 100 for a 1% chance. T1 comepletely locked themselves away and are worried about 2v1s as if it mattered.

Actually due to glicko, and the random +- 1-100 glicko could pop a T1 into T2, and FA into T1 for a match, though the chance is low of it actually happening. (Oh and it could hit any of the T1 servers currently.)

Why do so many on TC QQ about 2v1, when it happens to all?
I mean less BG QQ about it then TC, and less JQ QQ about 2v1 then TC. Yet BG and JQ also get 2v1’d.
Honestly I am on JQ. If my guild is hitting something, and I know we do not have the forces to take on the defenders, I would gladly let my 2nd enemy hit the primary target just to spread enemy forces out.
Will I coordinate with the enemy? Heck no.
Will I use the enemy against another enemy to an advantage? Heck yes.
Will I QQ when the enemy does the same: Nope, it’s a part of war.

Just an update:
IMPS is still accepting new members. You can be new to GW2, new to WvW, or a veteran player, all who are willing to work as a team, and learn are welcome.
Also Guild missions are going well, doing them weekly, and at times we have 2 a week. (Provided enough are online for the 2nd one.)
