Maybe for red, and blue it would be a buff based on your number in the squad. It also doesn’t have to be a +50%, it could be a mere 1% wich would turn the tide in a large battle

If they put a limit to one each on the other hand …(except maybe green) it might work because it would force you to go into the squad( but they would also have to also put a distance buff limit on)

The buff goes for the whole squad, but yes, in the wrong hands, it would hurt. But that’s the same with most things, including the time when they colored them. People made tags everywhere, but in time it worked out. Same here, but maybe they could make it to where you can only have a certain amount of a color tag at once in each map

I have a good commander tag idea that shouldn’t be hard at all.
Each tag gives a specific buff that would correspond with the ideal color objective. This would encourage using specific tags for specific duties.
Red- +x% power (or what ever is attack)
Green- +25% speed and x% damage vs siege weapons ( or whatever scouting is)
Purple- + x% siege weapon efficiency (or what ever siege group would be)
Blue- +x% power, defense, and siege damage in a controlled tower of keep( or whatever defense is)
Gold- +x% drop rate ( or whatever wanderer is)
These are just ideas, and I’m welcome for more. Anet, I hope you consider this.

I’ve always thought that ballista was a little un needed, so if we add all (reasonable) these siege weapons , the ballista will become a powerful defensive and offensive weapon again.

A manllet would work. High life, let’s you and allies shoot out, but enemies can’t shoot in. About double width and single height of a norn. 20 supplies
Also barbed wire, which would damage enemies that pass though with cripple and pulsing immobilization(if high quality) with major bleed and poison (and torment if high quality). Can’t be damaged by ranged with a very low width of range, but invisible till triggered.Depending on length x# of supplies(but quite a bit coastly)

Think about it for a bit. Let’s say it’s 8v8. Doesn’t matter how many secondary objectives will make the teams split, in the end most matches will end with both teams in a lord room (unless occassionally a split push of 1-2 players steal the show).

So there you are, 16 players in a room, plus the lord and the NPCs defending the lord, plus the NPCs hired by capturing objectives. And no healers. Do you really want a chaotic spam fest of ~30? That’s everything just not decent PvP, rather PvE/WvW.

Don’t forget if they make it 6v6 or 8v8 and the guild decides to go Conquest for a bit – who will you leave out? In GW1 team formats for pvp were 8v8 and 4v4 so it was perfect. And before someone says ‘then make it 10v10’ read my 2nd paragraph again.

I see revenent as either an ultimate buffer, a quick killer or an evasive pest. I thinks it’s mechanics would be a mixture between attunements and virtues. By this I mean you have a single, ultra buff, that can be switched like attunements. This in my opinion is the Revenant

I would like to make this thread to suggest me weapons to Anet, and put it in this theme because, it won’t come in HoT.
Starting off, I would like to suggest claws: they would be the closest range and quickest attack. If made, they should be for: Ranger, Necro, Thief and possibly Ele

If you want all support, go for (I think this is my build) 0/0/4/6/4 w/ staff and mace/shield. The heal is the healing breeze and utility is sanctuary, hold the line, signet of mercy, and tome of courage for elite. This works REALY well in pvp, but haven’t tried it in pve

I don’t understand this discussion:

Stronghold == GW1 GvG

So, GvG/Stronghold is not Zerg vs Zerg.

Teams of the discussion:

  • WvW players who call their 20v20 zergfests ‘GvG’ and demand a gamemode for it and are disappointed that they won’t be able to zerg in the official GvG gamemode of gw2.
  • GW1 players who remember what GvG actually means and welcome the gamemode.
  • GW2 PvP players who understand that 5v5 is a good size for PvP.

Pretty good summary

(Although I think Stronghold could easily go up to 6. If they do 8 as in GW1, it might be a bit too spammy in team fights unless it’s a huge map with lots of meaningful objectives to force teams to split.)

From what I heard, it will most likely be bigger and it’s not just go after the points, so 8v8 is possible.

No about towers. As you said, towers can be easily taken so it isn’t REALY a refuge. Also, if you haven’t noticed, in the expansion, it said it was ENCOURAGING small groups and defense. That brings me to my next point, I thing towers need more worth. Either they need
A) to be harder to take
or
A) to be extremely hard to bypass

For stronghold, should be 8v8, but anything else should be 5v5 (treb, troops, etc…)

I don’t know where everyone gets GvG from. From what official stuff I’ve seen, it is that GvG will be coming up, but no hints about it in HoT. Also, I’ve heard it might be a bigger map and that since you recruit troops, it is probably going to be a 8v8 set up, and would work better that way.

HoT has doomed us all!

I think what Anet is after, yet to kind to say, is WvW that requires skills in battle, and not only a follow your zerg. Since there are troops, I suspect a 8v8 set up.

I don’t mean to offend you really, but as far your suggestions go, it really isn’t relevant with what I wish to discuss. Its not about potential or other demanded colors for the future. Its supposed to be relevant with what colors we got with the new update and how we can take advantage out of it. What role we can give them to better improve ho we organize and play WvW.

Destroying defensive siege weapons is what I meant like if 2 zergs were either side of bridges, the purple would take his squad, go around and attack from side with balistas then run after arrow carats are dead
