I cant recall it exactly, but I’ll paraphrase:
“I almost joined Destiny’s Edge once, but in stead of saying “Kill a dragon” I thought they said “Fill a wagon” so I slipped out the back door."
There’s a chance to get skins from the Black Lion Chests and you can use the items form the ToT bags to craft things.
The weapons from the vendor are just rentals so you can play around and see how you like it. After 4 hours they all go byebye.
And keep an eye open for mail!
In all of the major cities there’s a gate to Lion’s Arc. head through that and run to the person with the pumpkin over their head and they’ll set you on the right path. Along the way, find trick or treat bags, pumpkins to carve and haunted doors to knock on.
From what I’d read it didn’t count towards that achievement, only the title.
I tried rezzing someone from outside one of the traps, but the spikes kept popping out every few moments and bringing them back down to 0. I made no progress so the poor guy had to head to the nearest waypoint.
My tiny Asura butt is parked just outside Divinity’s Reach, right now, so I’m heading right there when I get home!
Nope, just like everything else in this game you gotta farm ‘em. Doing it in Gendarran Fields in the morning is probably your best bet. I’m thinking they’ll start popping up more and more as the event goes on so you could wait? That’s what I’m doing because it’s super boring to farm.
Curses! Well, at least it lasts for a while. I’ll have more time to run around tonight tomorrow and the weekend. My past strategy was to run off in random directions and cross my fingers, but I suppose patience is my friend.
Which ones are those? I only tried the ToT locations in LA (which are gone, now, unfortunately) but I was going to move to the others when I got off work, today.
Horns should obviously be a 2H weapon with pushback and lozenge summon.
This makes me sad. The LA ToT bags were a fun diversion. Who doesn’t like jumping through flaming hoops from thousands of feet up.?
Thanks, guys. I had been running around Gendarran Fields rather haphazardly to get to the last part of the scavenger hunt. I’m slightly squishy for the area, being in the low 20s, but maybe if a group forms I can try and mix in with them.
And I very much hope I’ll be able to go into the Mad King’s Realm to fight beasties, at some point. I’d stay in there until I had my achievement.
I’m doing less than impressive on ToT bags and pumpkins, but you can pretty much do nodes/explore and have some luck. The haunted doors are what’s killing me. I have maybe 16 kills and it’s not from lack of trying. I just keep finding bugged doors or things get killed before I can even tag them, and that’s when I get lucky enough to find a door to begin with.
Do you guys have any particular strategies or places you go for this?
I’ll have to look it up. Guess that’s no go on the manwitch.
Lions Arch is the epicenter of all of the Mad King goodness. You’ll see someone with a pumpkin marker over their head and you can begin your hunt.
I like the TP. I wish the rotten eggs were as amusing.
Wow, even more great stuff in this post! Gracias, Sabin!
I have the costume, but I didn’t realize it did anything to folks not involved in brawls. I’ll definitely need to make sure that table stays away from the cauldron.
Well I’m sick of the people complaining about the people complaining about the people complaining! Everyone knows that a typical pack of toilet paper has 6 rolls. Why won’t anet listen to the fans and fix this bug?!
I was so out of it I didn’t even notice these spots. I’ll have to go back tonight and collect the candy that is rightfully mine!
I have a thing or two that I wish were a little different, but I’m enjoying myself. I got home from work, logged on, stayed up way too late looking for pumpkins and candy corn nodes before getting to LA then got all but the last step of the scavenger hunt before realizing I had to be back up in 4 hours. Rinse, repeat today!
I even bought the Mad King costume because it just amused me so much.
This would be nice. I have a lot of random boosters, tonics, gathering tools, etc but not a single Halloween item. And I loves me some spooky.
I don’t know of any, unfortunately. We may just have to rely on that swiftness and a cripple for runners and be SOL or switch to Bulls’s Charge to close ground.
Level 80s, Haunted Door Campings, Lower-level farming, and problems with level scaling

I think Shifted has a good solution, there. If the normal doors are like nodes, the event/champion ones could stay as is (since they’re meant for multiples anyway) and the farming issue becomes, well, less of an issue.
I would totally buy a skin in the gem shop if I liked the look of it. I prefer gory looking things, anyway. Not that you could tell on my tiny Asura.
I loved that the spiders and skeles are basically cheap plastic toys. With glow in the dark variations. Its the kind of stuff you always get bombarded with this time of year. Alas, my jump into the cauldron turned me into a mummy. =/
I’ve had varying success with the haunted doors. I only encountered about 9 of them, last night. One spawned a skele/spider, one spawned something that got killed by someone else before I could even click it and then dropped a ToT Bag. One spawned an invasion of Candy Corn Elementals. One was bugged (opened, stayed open and did nothing). The rest were completely wiped out by others before I even got close.
I wish these doors were more like mini events (like the candy corn invasion one) and less of a sprint/AoE tag fest.
I do love that sword leap. Embrace the Pain is definitely there on a trial basis. There are so many traits that get improved by adrenaline that I wanted something to keep it up, but if that ends up not being as much of an issue I’m heading back to TD.
Seems like your choices are a bit better suited to being more offensive, so I’ll give them a try.
I’m just starting out, but I’m looking for something to aim for. It helps me focus. This would be mostly for leveling and PvE, but I might stray into some PvP for jollies.
Am I spacing myself out too much? I’ve been using a modified version of the Yojack build, but it felt like it was time to personalize things a bit and head towards more damage. Thanks for any input!
