well i was wondering mainly about Oc’ing.

As for now i don’t want any i5-2500k which cost fortune for my pockets.

So was wondering about that i3-3220 and now vs that a10-5800.

tho never had a amd cpu so im kinda worried. I still gotta buy DDR3 + motherboard to exchange full platform.

So it’s either i3 with 1155 soc moth with almost no oc,
or a10-5800k with oc
not sure which one will preform etter in GW2 and games like Tom clancys ghost recon etc

hey,
Im going to get new rig in few days and i’ve been wondering which one to take

Either i3-3220 @ 3,3GHZ Ivy brige can’t oc it much maybe max to 3,5GHZ
or
FX-4100 Bulldozer series @ 3,6GHZ easily oc’d on box coolin to 4,4-4,6GHZ

How do You think ?

Dear friend what CPU are u using ?

Cause as I remember for this card you need at least FX 4100 Oc’ed to 4,6 GHZ or 2500k oc’ed to at least 4GHZ + to not bottleneck the card.

This card is one of top end graphic cards and You won’t see it’s full potential untill You have also extreme CPU.

And as You mentioned that Your GPU usage is low it means a CPU bottleneck.

And tbh in this game it’s better to invest in one of top end CPU’s able to get 4GHZ + on 4-8 cores rather then strong GPU

@loseridoit

I was talking about Sandy vs Ivy in which case Intel themselves stated and prooved that Ivy brige processors should and are 10-15% faster.

Best example is i3-3120 ( at @3.3 ghz / sandy ) vs i3-3220 ( @3,3ghz Ivy ) which indeed is 11% faster and on same rig you get better FPS in games.

Really oh. I heard they did not really do much to the cpu side at all. Same architecture and around the same transistors. It is just a die shrink. I guess 3d transistors made a different. I usually do not trust company leak spec sheets. They usually exaggerate their improvement gains.

Here is a random benchmark that does not show a 11% gain
Although the benchmark is synthetic, the architecture is the same so it should be valid
http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/53054-intel-i7-3770k-ivy-bridge-cpu-review-6.html

That 11% I ment for specific i3 3100 vs 3220

Cause im sure that for top end CPU like you mentioned in that link it won’t make that huge difference, and kitten me i can’t find that link with official Intel information and benchmarks

Reinstall Your drivers.

Im Sure You never ( from moment you bought that pc ) installed them.

Find Exact name of your Graphic card via GPU-Z and go to ATI/Nvidia website and download latest drivers and install them.

well that makes difference

And first of all Check Your boxes in options menu – look for anystupoid options to add positioning lines or anything like that, not sure there ever was something like that but those lines are to stright to seem some kind of driver/graph problem

Anyway As i said first try to uninstalling your drivers and making new clean install.
If that doesn’t help, install older drivers.
And try to changing some setting in options menu. cause as I said sometimes low/noone setting for some graphical options may cause such problems.

Another option is that your graphic card is OC’ed to much…

I hate when players suffer because of companies race for money ( GW2 vs WoW:MoP )

I know Loserdoit thats why im not playin GW2 on my main rig but on my laptop.

Im just glad i caught myself and Asus e-machine with 540M on board, it’s not best but it handles game on playable levels 35-50 fps with low/medium graph settings

@kirito

I know what problem is. tho I have no cash at this point to get better main rig as I would need to change Motherboard to get new CPU and then there goes a new ram + SSD and new GPU which would cost me around 400-500$ which I don’t have atm

If u seriously want to compare Guild wars 2 to anything Compare it to AION.

Yes I said it, AION.

Aion on it’s best apperance graph engine ( you can chose engine from option menu ) really puts Your Rig to a test.

Problem is that PPl with medium/high rigs as i5/i7 with 560ti/660 are getting on Sieges in aion ( 100++ ppl in same spot ) steady 50-60 fps with no problem, cause game doesn’t have issues with poor design and engine.

while in guild wars 2 with 20++ ppl fighting thier fps gets to barely 30.

well I’ve seen Laptops with totaly no information about Dedicated graphic cards on board which is just dumb when it comes to informing a customer.

And as Your stating That you had Power saver graph on You must have a Ati HD on board as the graph card change look just like you stated for them.

also Give it some times to get used to Dedicated graph it may take a while until it totaly kicks in !

Never belive in stories about 60 steady FPS on rigs like that.

it’s just lie with no screen shots or that person looked on FPS when nothing was going on and staring to wall.

Theres no way that rig would run this game on HIGH graph with this rig. Untill You somehow turned resolution to under 1024×700

To be more clear todays low end Laptop i3s/i5s will handle this game better then your Old quad due to technological process.

As i recall this is DX9 game ? or so. anyway it’s uses only 2 cores. doesn’t matter if u have 8 core high end i7 or i3 or i5. Your GHZ and CPU technology ( in which were they made for example ivy brige at same GHZ will handle this game better then sandy brige ) etc.

ALeksandar It’s not ram.

This game won’t use more then 2gb of ram, I daubt it even reaches 1 gb as most.

As I posted Try looking for Dedicated graphic card on your laptop menu control panel, if u can’t find it Go download GPU-Z program, and install it.

After running it will detect all graphic cards on board ( youll have small switch at the bottong of window program ) and when you notice that card just look for option to turn it on

On board of that platform you should have

GeForce 9600M GT or Familly of 400/500M series.

Try to enable it from your descopt > Right click > Nvidia control panel > Set default GPU to Max Performance GPU or just pick your Better performance card for GW2 only.

Should help

On the other hand depending how much u Paid for it ( some specs cost 1500$ some 1900 as i checked 4 minutes ago ) You should kill person who sold You that crap if it doesn’t have dedicated Graph card.

Never go for HP latopr for gaming.

Every year theres ASUS/ACER race for laptops called E-machines which offer amazing spec for half price if ya would like to get same spec from other company

Mrowqa.3861

Well it’s good data, but it’s not much of diff from 2500K which will get same fps on 4 Cores ( 8 threads) this game is just not optimized for multi core CPU ( 2++ ).

Even I3 will outpreform sometimes in this game an FX 4100 oc’ed while it shouldn’t and it gets it kitten kicked in other games where FX shines.

This game got poor engine design, on my i5 2410M at 2,3-2.9 GHZ i get 20-25 FPS in WvWvW. while my grap card 540M is bottleneck.

SolarNova Stop Comparing a CPU ( 3930K ) which cost roughly 500-800$ depending on country to AMD CPU’s which cost 100-250$.

Ofcourse youll get better performance on 4,5GHZ CPU which costed 600$ rather then FX 8150 which costs like 170$ ? it’s amazing CPU for it’s price. And Im happy for You that you got that much money to spend it for a CPU only but some ppl have that 600-700$ buget for whole PC.

So before U post anything. start comparing CPUs by thier price.
While FX 4100/8150 are great in 120-170$ buget they beat i3 3100/3220 by mile and are 10-15 fps behind I5 2500k which costs around 250$. for that 80$ some ppl can get AMD 3 MB or more memory or add it to a GPU.

Also seriously Everytime I see post “Your 70 FPS is kitten I got 120” I wanna take knife out of my pocket and stabb myself.

Your eyes See maximum difference at 55-60 FPS You won’t notice more untill your some kind of freak with super eye sight.

But Hey I get You. You always have to brag about your pc and fps you get. we will put u onto rig witch gets 50 steady FPS and it will be torture for ya.

Man.

Intel Core 2 duo is just butt hurt to GTX 650.

Seriously You could just put in there old celeron 1,4GHZ and it’d make same effect.
Those CPU’s were bad for Graph cards like GTX260/280 in the day of thier release untill u oc’ed to the edge.

now You took GPU trough the roof when you compare to old GTX 260/280 with no CPU change.

Also I have no idea what idiot told you to get GTX650 for gaming cause it’s kitten almost like GTX 640/630 which are top-end Entertainment cards ( for movies/ web browsing etc. ) not gaming.

For same price you could get reselled GTX 460/480 cause seriously theres no reason to pay full price for new kitten graph card when you can get top end card from a bit older generation which handles games perfectly.

I’ll give You a tip. My main “rig” Had e4600 on board with gtx 260 and i get on it 15-20 fps all the time. While my laptop got i5 2nd gen with GTX540M on borad ( which apart from dx11 and a bit never technology is a bit worse then GTX 260 ) and on my laptop i get 40-70 FPS ( don’t ask me how I have no kittening clue ) while in WvWvW it drops to 19-20

Also try to lower graphics, most of options you have on high/medium aren’t needed to take pleasure fro the game. Remember mmo is about it’s pve/pvp experience about gameplay with other ppl it’s not mainly about graphics.

First of all Turn reflections off totaly, it’s GPU waste cuz u lose around 30-40% fps on that.
also turn off best texture filtering, get shadows to low, post-processing to low/medium, you don’t need it that high, set enviroment to medium/ low cause theres not much of different untill u turn your shader to High/ultra. animation on medium, no need to go max cause on max you see better movement of hair styles only tbh. and anti-aliasing off – imagine how bad u hurt your GPU by that when there are 40+ ppl in sight.

The bigest problem for you Is Your Requirement to see almost MAX details of game for such poor PC.

Also SolarNova You have to understand that some ppl don’t want to change whole platform ( Intel for 1155/1156 ) or AMD.

AMD got the + for making AM2 MB’s compat with new am3 CPU’s in most cases which means you can push more cash into GPU/CPU instead of taking for same price kitten intel CPU with bad GPU.

Also Ppl go for AMD because of price, it’s almost 30-45% cheaper if u compare new AMD CPU’s to intel ones when it comes to cores/Speed. ofcourse Intel CPU will be faster in single thread work etc by 10-15% but seriously if someone doesn’t have big pocket sometimes spending 120$ for CPU is for that person better then payin 250-300$ to gain that 10-15% in fps.

Tbh. most ppl have problem with Phenoms x4/x6 etc. I never saw anyone complaining on New FX bulldozer versions of AMD CPU’s and thier are very good.

New fx-4100 can o’c to 4,6 with no cooling change with 4 cores which is better then > I3-3220 ( ivy ) or i3-3100/3120 ( sandy ) which on the matter can’t oc almost at all.

So Taking phenom was totaly bad idea, old generation CPU for 2012 year game.

To graphic card. 7750 is crap it’s worse then 7770 which u can get for fair price OC’d.
Tho if i’d be you and have cash for upgrade ( as my pc is so kitten old – using laptop for now from ASUS ) i’d go with :

GTX 560Ti
GTX 560
GTX 650 ti
GTX 660
From Ati’s You can try grab old 68** series ( they are cheap if someone resells they are at pair with GTX 460 mentioned below )
Ati : 7770 ( which isn’t best at this point i’d say go find Reseller of GTX 460/480 or try to grab one of best GTX 480 Lightnin version )
HD 7850/7870 should do the work they are at pair with GTX 560/ti // 660 ( tho GF goes about 6-10 fps better in some cases )

of’c if u got the buget – theres no reason to go for serious 680/690 untill you got some super powerfull eyes that see diff from 60-70 fps to 140+.

Im plannin to get my pc renewed and im aiming for

FX 4100/ FX 8150 oc’ed to 4,6-4,9 ghz with GTX 660 on board, tho may take a while

Hi Everyone, I got Gw 2 like 2 days ago.
And as far as stupid it might sound game like Aion ( which tbh got more advanced graphics with this new “enigine” ) I get around 50-60 fps, going down to 30 in Sieges.

Now I Gw 2 with my spec ( which is kinda bad ) I get from 10-19 steady fps while leveling ( sometimes 30+ ) in zergs in WvW i get5 fps.

Both running on Vindows 7 64

So My stationary computer : 10-19 fps same settings ( tbh it doesn’t matter low/mid/high/ultra. still same fps with a bit fall at ultra )at resolution (1366 × 768 ).
Spec is :
DualCore Intel Core 2 Duo E4600, 2.4GHZ ( Pathetic )
4gb ram
GF GTX 260 1 GB Gigabyte OC

While On my Asus e-machine laptop ( which i bought last year ) i get :
41-45 FPS in this Lions arch or so ( this town near pvp portals ) and 50-60 Fps during lvling ( even more sometimes ) while in WvW zerg it falls to 18-20 FPS.
Laptop spec is :
Core i5-2410M, 2,3GHZ with HyperBoost to 2,9GHZ ( usualy run at around 2,7GHZ )
4gb ram
GF GT 540M 1 GB – which accordin to GPU-Z program Is much worse then GTX 260

I Know that My stationary computer CPU is very weak but im not sure does
bad cpu / good graph card = bad FPS
medicore CPU / bad graph card = good fps

Anyone got any Idea Why this runs like this ?
In my experience laptops shouldn’t handle games better…
