Character: Telvaelyn
Quest: Trouble at the Roots, Dead of Winter
My friend and I have been playing together since level 1 without any issues until now. When it came to choose an order to permanently join, we agreed on the Priory and so I chose that. After doing so, it turns out that his character, Ayathoriel, was placed in the Vigil. Since we can no longer play the story together, we have to put progressing that on hold until this can be fixed. Although my story hasn’t split, I’m posting in the hopes that more information will speed along a fix.
Maybe, but what about the instances when they’re out of combat or trying to get somewhere quickly? Plenty of times I’ve seen non-player characters out of combat and rushing during an event while hopping along on two legs. I’d like to see the non-player charr run on all fours like I do, because consistency is never a bad thing. Excuse it however you want, but it just seems like an oversight and quirk to me.
Just a few things to make the character creator a little better.
- Add a “Reset” button that neutralizes all sliders back to the middle. This would especially be useful in the cases where a profession starts off with sliders being all over the place.
- Add numbers to the sliders, to allow people to share their creations with each other.
- Allow us to chat from within character creation. You can hear chat indicators and pings, but not actually chat. A little frustrating when someone keeps whispering you but you’re in the middle of customizing a face to your liking.
- Give us the missing character options. There are a few skin and eye colors missing from the creator for one reason or another. For charr, it’s the range of pinkish furs, and for asura there seem to be some eye colors that are unavailable to players. Whatever other things were left out for players should be investigated and added.
If anyone has any other ideas, post them here! Remember, easy, small things that would make a big difference are fit for this thread.
Largos, please! Especially if their models get a makeover and become more like the amazing concept piece. I would main a largos so fast.
There’s a keybind to sheathe/unsheathe weapons, but they still get put away after some time even if they’re drawn using this key. Can we have it so that when drawn using this key, they’re not put away until the key is pressed again?
This is an outstanding idea, and so I stand behind it all the way.
I think it’s a bug, because it makes no sense otherwise. Take a screen and bug report it in-game!
Here’s a picture for those who haven’t seen any these pink charr (she seemed to be a mesmer, too, so I’m even more jealous). The colors aren’t at all garish, so I’m not sure why they weren’t included in the character creation.
Random fact: During the BWE’s, the female’s underwear changed colour as well. No idea why it doesn’t anymore.
If that’s the case, then the male’s should either be a fixed color or the female’s should again change. I don’t care which one, as long as it’s consistent.
I think the tengu are an inevitability, given all the setup for them around the world already. Beyond them, though? I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m really hoping that we’ll get to play a largos. I think the setup is there for them already, what with having a house-divided society and even a few individuals working with players.
I’m excited to see what the future holds in store for new player races, but I do hope that all the additions won’t just be various spins on bestial figures. Birds, cats, bears… Largos seem both new and interesting, and something that would be a great addition for those of us who like the seers and even mursaat.

Four-legging running is great, but it’s kind of odd that Charr NPCs never run that way.
I agree, and I wish they would. Seems like a lot of work for a little payoff, but it’d be a nice touch if anyone ever finds the time to figure it out.
Playing through the personal story has shown me a number of non-player characters that have pinkish fur, and a few others that have green manes (see: some Flame Legion).
Why aren’t these an option for player characters? I’m sure adding these could open up some atrocious color combinations, but surely nothing any worse than what’s already available.
If someone wants to make an ugly character, they’ll also have countless dyes to do so with already anyway. So, let us have the fun furs? Please?

Earlier today we queued up Politics Level 2. When I logged in again quite a few hours later, I found the upgrade was no longer researching and the influence that had been used to queue it missing. We can see where it was activated on the guild log, yet there is no indication why it decided to stop and cancel itself.
EDIT: Seems the upgrade is actually still going, but sometimes it just disappears in the panel and gives the illusion of being canceled.
