It was an interesting idea. Hitting hills with 30 golems and seeing 20 of them melt to 5 acs in say…..5-10 seconds. Well worth it. Anyways that wasn’t 30g worth of gold that was all from badges.

Overall though it was fun even wiping. It’s been awhile since we did something that crazy as a whole server.

“T1 has been fantastic thus far, hopefully everyone is having as much fun as TW is. There really is no need for our threads to be so negative. Every guild is good and every guild plays a role for their server.

I think it’s clear, JQ is #1 without question, SoR and BG duke out for #2, but even #3 is no shame or nothing lost. Only thing that matters is that when you are out there as a guild, you are fighting hard and keep fighting no matter what.

I personally hope, this tier doesn’t change for a while, but if it does, we will welcome what looks like TC into the fray and either SoR or BG will move down, either way, T1 will stay interesting and I think the tier that most people in it are there for the competition more than anything else.

SoR has come a long way from #17 and I’m proud of our server getting to #2, we still have a long way to go and hopefully our slow building of the community with the right guilds and individuals sustains us till the game’s end.

Keep up the good fight JQ and BG, without you guys coming out there strong everyday, TW and SoR would have gotten bored long ago.

The PPT advantage when FOO is on is greater than the PPT advantage when NA is on. We seriously have to go over this people? We all know why.

The post that JQ make are about the same quality as their players. I for one am not surprised.

I always definitions and measurements of quality very interesting. I really don’t know what your definition and measurement criteria might be of course. Please feel free to share those with us so we can discuss the merits of your assertion.

I believe if I shared my view it would be taken in a negative way. Lets just say that at times I wonder if T8 players put up a better fight. : )

We have plenty of decent havoc groups. The good ones just avoid the 40 man TW blob, so you never see us.

TW does have its own havoc groups out at times, maybe not as much as we would like but when we do it seems you need at least 10+ to kill 4 of us. : )

PLEASE field your havoc groups more next week during NA PST evenings! I’ve got a good fraps of us 7v20 against Fire recently that I hope to post up in a week or two, and I’d love to get some TW footage in there! Look for the RIOT tag.

I think the most I have gotten in one night is around 4k kills.

Lets say 8 hours play, so you claim 500 kills per hour. That’s around 1 min per kill.

It’s do-able if you get enough targets. In general I meet foes at a far lower rate – several minutes per.

All my kills are on my guardian so I don’t tag nearly as much as some classes, though the 4k kills was on a really really good night where everyone was fighting open field.

We are working on adding more info to these leaderboards right now and the first area we are intending to get to is displaying WvW rank data. I would like to see us get some guild specific info as well, but the first step is the individual info. The suggestions here are also areas we’ll likely look into, if they are feasible.

We know you guys are working on alot of this stuff, but lets be honest you could be a bit more involved with the wvw community. This would be one way of doing it. Make a pinned thread asking for wvw suggestions…ideas…what we would like to see. We play wvw way more then you guys so it would only make sense to reach out to us on ideas. I mean even asking some of the major hardcore wvw guilds out there for ideas would be awesome.

If you are planning on adding more stuff to the leader boards and WvW in general this would be a great way to start out and I’m not talking just a pinned thread where you sometimes post. I mean a thread where you guys actively post and communicate with us asking us about ideas we have, explaining why you can’t do certain ideas or won’t do them.

That’s not over-communication at all tbh. Speaking just general things to keep communication rolling, even normal things, is common and healthy for good group play. If your comms are silent in a battle it’s a negative.

Just to point something out, having no or very little communication is not always a bad thing for small mans. The groups I run with we barely say a word during our fights and if we do its real quick 1-3 word phrases. It all depends on how well the players play together.

While the video itself offers something that happens daily, there is a lot of communication for how little of fighting actually happened, but that’s not a bad thing either.

I have alot of videos that I need to get rolling, but I made sure to fraps that JQ BL Bay fight as best as I could….I had alot of fun, even with the skill lag. Imagine how much more fun it would of been without the skill lag.

I would think that BG would understand that golems have feelings too, but 10+ golems later I guess not. Good fights in SoR BL.

Dude…no kidding the part where we were all on the walls was hilarious. Once we had your inner west walls down we were trebbing the outter wall so JQ would stop trying to rush us. haha good times until JQ had to be a poor sport and leave.

How was our siege attack on bay from SoR perspective? I think all the defenders should get the [Shellshocked] buff for a couple days hehe. Normally we don’t tangle to much with SoR as we are on BG BL for the most part culling the ex-sos hordes, it has been fun this week though.

Honestly that siege was probably one of the dumbest I’ve ever seen. You let us get two ticks out of that when you could of stomped us quite easily. Thanks for the free points though. We sat there talking about the most random kitten waiting for you guys to actually attack us.

Oh man, sorry but you had alot more than 15. You had a very large zerg that out numbered us initially that we wiped on the outer wall as well. But even if you had as little as 25 or 30 in the last bombardment those not suffering from your psychosis put up a good fight under the conditions.

During that wipe on the outer wall yes we did have about the same amount as you guys…sadly half died at the base of the stairs fighting the few down there. When it came to the end though we sat in the inner with only about 15 people.

I noticed that at 1:55 your health gets refilled. Is it thanks to another player doing combo fields?

One of the guardians I run with uses Tome of Courage. He uses its heals on us depending on if our heals are down or we are stacking alot of conditions. Very useful at the right times.

It’s not the size that matters it’s how you use it.

The way I am spec’d revolves around mass condition removal and maintaining constant retal throughout a fight. I don’t really build into any damage nor do I use any equips for damage. I’m almost pure tank, but can still hit hard with the help of retal and some of the other traits that increase damage based on boons/endurance. Shout Guardian basically so you are laying down support for your allies as well as yourself.

Overall it works out really well in wvw not only for small mans but also larger fights.

It might seem a bit weird….compared to other builds. I was going to get around to putting up a video of my build on my channel this week, but I run 0/0/20/25/25. All your shouts give retal or two of them do. One of the major traits increasing retal by 25% you can constantly keep about 30+seconds of retal up through a fight.

Alot more to my build, but thats the majority of the retal part.

Cool, can’t wait to see it. Do you know the impact of +cnd dmg on retal?

Not off the top of my head…. I know feedback mesmers kitten themselves on retal.

This is actually sorta how I run my guardian, but alot tankier. I also use hammer instead of sword/focus. This video is one of the first ones I made for my channel and my only small man one that I have uploaded atm but it shows my build in action.

You can actually wreck pretty heavily using a hammer/gs combo. When I run with my guild I demolish groups of players quite easily, being able to pull 5 people in then enclose in a circle of warding is sick and can crush whole zergs in seconds. Works best if you have more then 1 guardian doing it. I however do usually run gs/1h and focus when I’m roaming. Alot of it can depend on the situation at hand just remember that.

As for guardian escapes you can escape just…it takes some work and certain skills so that you stand a better chance.

This screen was less about the fight and more about the loot bags (30ish from that one spot) i didn’t even know i had because they weren’t rendered. I got quite a shock when I spammed F and got invisible loot.

All I read was you accusing us of whining and how you dislike our server just because your server was getting stomped on 11 weeks in a row and even now. You guys are being really SoR on the issue and should just drop it and move on. Ever since our server entered T1 you’ve been gunning for us; and tbh we’re fine with it because that’s how Blackgate has grown stronger, it’s been noticed by many guilds and servers which is what makes our server so appealing. If you want those transfers that Indo talked about in his hate speech towards JQ and BG, then you’ll have to go through a similar situation. The way you guys in SoR go about it right now is just childish.

I remember seeing quite a few SoR running back to that fight through the water. I was working on picking off stragglers at the time. But yeah the BG zerg was probably graveyard zerging you. Kinda lame but it’s how the map is designed unfortunately. Happens to us all.

It appears to have been a well played zerg fight on your part. Hard to tell what’s going on most of the time though.

You can try watching again, I uploaded a brand new one that hopefully has far better quality, I had to re-convert some of the files. Yeah I mean I imagine some of us ran back, but no where near the numbers BG was putting into that.

K I watched it. Even in 1080p I’m having a hard time making out name tags and/or guild tags and with the culling it’s hard to count exactly how many people were there on either side. I really can’t tell how many SoR there were just from this one video but it’s clear there were quite a lot.

I was there!

Amazing fight. SoR side was a large force but only half of what we were fighting, and the BG force had constant incoming reinforcements from their nearby spawn. There were also JQ outliers on all the flanks that, like jackals, we’re ready to pick off anyone who felt the need to flee to reset, or escape if you got seperated from the main force. There was death everywhere.

Shame you hardly render anybody. I could see at least twice as many people than the video at all times.

Video quality went to kitten on me somewhere. I’ll be working on it and reuploading a better one either tonight or tomorrow. Sorry about that, haha.

What I said was that I happened upon an enormous zerg of SoR versus and enormous zerg of BG at the southern supply camp of which TW and TWL were a part. There appeared to me to be at least 60 SoR possibly 70-80. I did not say that you guys constituted the entirety of SoR’s force. There were several other guilds present. If anyone has a video of the fight I’m sure we can confirm what I’ve said.

I do think that running around with anything more than a group is zerging. The thing is that a lot of people in this game zerg. I do it too. Sometimes I run around with our zerg guilds and try to help them as much as I can. I see what they do as a necessary evil because it gets things done quickly. I don’t really take any pride in it. I don’t think I improve as a player from doing it. I like Blackgate and the people here so I do whatever I think I can to try and help the server succeed. But you will never see me mention a victory or post a video of a zerg fight or comment on how many lootbags I got or whatever because to me it’s all shameful business and not deserving of special mention or praise.

I know AGG and FoE were in T1 until last week but I only ran into them a few times and I really didn’t get a good feeling on them. I liked AGG’s Video about BG not being prepared when they got into t1 but honestly when we ran into AGG I was not very impressed with the 30-40 of them 20 of us ran into and wiped up pretty easily. But we did catch them off guard and that was the only real engagement I had with them.

Actually…I have recorded several fights with AGG when you guys were on SoS still and being wiped by lesser numbers….(maybe not too less such as 20 vs 40) There are some fights of course when we did have about even, but if I was you I wouldn’t say you guys never had 30-40….you forget people still add in pugs/other guilds when they do the math and just stick it to the guild tag they see the most which was probably AGG.

All this talk about Red Guard. Never had the chance to fight them and would REALLY love to get the chance as I have very high confidence in being able to beat them on their terms.

However Red Guard is a completely worthless guild as for as I can tell, when they came to my server Jade Quarry all they did was take up valuable WvW slots they do nothing for the PPT and in general I would rather have PuGs on my map than them.

As far as best guild/server I wonder who would win between Vizunah Square and Jade Quarry right now I bet it would be an awesome week of WvW. Both server have been T1 forever.

Pretty sure SF has wiped vs guilds running numbers far less their number multiple times….like 15-40 differences.
