So… how many people are doing tournaments with a static in the whole game? Very few I guess, because all I see on these forums is “s/t pvp is dead blahblahblah”.
Why then… why would Anet nerf our mesmer skills AGAIN just to satisfy 3 players and a half? ( I’m exagerating on purpose) A lot more ( like A LOT) are doing pve/wvw and never complain about TW.
Just stop it, it’s getting ridiculous (and just to remind you… a month ago, TW wasn’t a problem, it was portal, then shattered strengh and the shatter bug… still, TW wasn’t a problem… But now that you got all you whinned for, you need more and more and more nerfs. It’s so childish, it’s not even funny).
Fun time @ redbriar in AR BL.
Hope you liked it as well.
a lot of more hardcore players need a “competitive” aspect to keep playing.
only grinding for looks wont keep them in.so an item grind and a “fractal difficulty level” is the only tiny bragging right they have.
wvwvw have none at all (no difference betweene somebody who killed 3000 or somebody who killed 3).
lot of hardcore players are not interested in playing for playing, they need a sense of achieving something that other players can look at and say “wow”.
These players could come in WvW and fight agains’t 2-3 times their numbers (not zerging). This is a lot more exciting and harder than doing the same old boring pve content everyday. But yes, they will probably discover there are a lot more competitive and skilled players outthere than in LA.
I understand they prefer to camp LA with their shiny backpacks instead of looking for the real challenge in this game, tho.
And cry endlessly for new gear threadmills.
Actualy, their whinning doesn’t affect wvw, but this time will come. And I don’t want to have to run any pve content anymore to stay competitive. Hopefully Anet will provide wvw players a way to get ascended while doing… wvw.
Well, Mesmers have butterflies
Mesmer shatter build is OP, lots of dmg, confusion/reflect/daze, stealth, quickness, huge stacks of might, you can destroy everything in this game with this build, and easily one shot people in pvp.
I’m actualy leveling a D/D elementalist and it’s more a melee mage, with tons of mobility and healing.
You should try them both in spvp. And take a look at Osicat thread on mesmer forum. You will be amazed by the OPness of the class.
Name 5 things to do at 80 that’s not a grind then please.
WvW
sPvP hot join
tPvP
random DE / temples in Orr (I really like these meta events with lot of fun people working together)
gathering
crafting
story dungeons
random dungeons (mostly to help guildies)
world completion
jumping puzzles
And yes, you can just farm a place or another without making it a grind ( I enjoy aggroing tons of undeads in Orr just to see how long I can survive with my glass canon set)
It’s not hard to enjoy this game if you don’t have a grind mindset.
If I have to compare with Aion or Tera, there is absolutly NO grind in GW2.
You only need to “grind” for useless skins, and because it’s not needed at all, you can just stack mats to make them later.
The grind only exists if you have to have the best of everything ASAP. The grind is all in your mind.
For normal exotic and dungeons ones, I agree that there is no grind but for anything like name exotic/corrupted/destroyer weapons and ascended items the grind is gigantic. For 1 corrupted weapon, it takes 30 corrupted lodestones, you’re lucky to get 1 per hour, usually you get 1 every 2 hours, and then there’s the DR that kicks in and makes it almost impossible to get the lodestones after it comes. I also have to state that the only place to get them are in Frostgore sound/honor of the waves. So is an estimate of 60 hours of doing the same stuff to get a weapon is not a grind?
You don’t need it. ANet doesn’t force you to do it. Your “ugly” exotic has the exact same stats as the corrupted/destroyer weapons. It’s just aesthetics. It wont change anything to your PvE/ WvW experience.
But it will keep you playing this game.
I’ve been one-shoted by these guys (lvl 13) a couple of times with my lvl 42 ele. This is really annoying.
