Thief Sword/Dagger viable?

All weapons and builds are viable and excel in areas others dont. Why dont you post your build so we can see what sort of synergy you’ve got going on.

Sword/dagger is pretty much the stealth master so you should be aiming to focus how effective you are at that.

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Asura_gate

Wiki is full of alot of useful info, If your ingame and want to know something you can type “/wiki asura gate locations” etc. It will minimize the game for you and carry out the search. All you have to do is read, it does the rest

Why does the BLTC take the listing fee twice?

The economy will take time to balance out. Also alot of big guilds out there will and have been trying to take control of the economy for their server. Its what happens, you just gotta find a gap for yourself…which also might take time

Low FPS and FPS drop

Great news

Glad to help, If you get some time out of game id give the monitor and gameboost a try. Both will help you out.

Even with several fans eventually at some point down the line they could become blocked with dirt etc and your thermalpaste on the CPU will start to dry. You wont notice when your CPU isn’t getting stressed but when it does you will experience FPS drop and system lag. Helps the lifespan too because you will notice it early if or when it happens.

Gameboost will also probably give you another FPS boost by simply closing things you dont need use or need when gaming. I use it all the time now for every game. I’d even use it for pong

It is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE that the BLTC takes a 15% cut from all your sales. Selling an exotic staff that I crafted for 3 gold gives me 2 gold 55 silver. That’s ridiculous. No other MMO that I know of takes that much of a cut from trade transactions.

Why would you sell it for the same price it cost to make?…

It doesnt matter what other MMO’s trading post’s charge, they aint run by the blacklion

Those are updates/fixes that are applied and are often outlined here:

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Game_status_updates

They usually update it daily with any changes made. These patches improve your gaming experience and are needed to connect.

Yup, i think the map is brilliant. The whole game actually lol

I came from swtor where you have to endure loading screens going to “planets” which is actually just one, barren, quiet, empty, lifeless map. Most of the locations became stale and there was no point visiting it again.

Also no need for farms when you’ve got asura gates

sorry for double post

Can you also look at your Nvidia control pannel and post your settings. You might wanna do the same for dxdiag and check the settings.

Well you shouldn’t have to play on low. I had issues during the headstart and found that changing most of the settings doesn’t really effect much (even with map change).

I did notice your CPU but what i forgot to post was that you should get hold of a Temperature monitor. GW2 along with background instances you’ve got running could be running the CPU so high that it is throttling itself…effectively not being an i& 3770k.

If its only today your noticing a drastic change with no game update, driver update etc then something has changed on your computer. I would try:

Temperature monitor – monitors CPU/GPU/SSD etc temps and voltages.
Different Drivers – worth a try with a fresh clean install, physx and cp too
Gameboost – This will close down as much as your like or all unneeded services etc running on your computer while you game, even if your rig is awesome you should give this a go.

Gamebooster – http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html

Worth a try

I played on Europa, those were the days lol.

Not much input to this post but i did find it a bit ODD that there were no RP servers when the game went live. Not an “RP’er” myself but most games these days tend to have dedicated ones.

Those steps that MadGelo posted are more for people who have constant low FPS i.e they have lower end graphics cards. With your graphics card changing settings to prefer performance mode should not be needed for GW2.

Firstly, games like GW2 and MMO’s in general are more CPU heavy, where as games like BF3 are all pretty and GPU intensive. People always tend to use BF3 as an example of having a gagillion FPS…

You should try different drivers, the beta ones do have a substantial improvement for most people. If you dont wanna try those though you could roll back to previous WHQL ones. Also, always do a clean driver install…sloppy driver installs can cause all sorts of problems.

Also, id highly recommend using Vsync in GW2. I tend to steer clear of it but in GW2 it runs things alot smoother, one min your screen could be empty with 120fps you turn a corner and all of a sudden theres a 40 man zerg event kicking off. This will help as your card isnt constantly maxing for no reason. Using Vsync will also keep your card temp cooler.
