Whatever the reason, its a shame not to see Red Guard amongst our enemies, though perhaps its for the best. Piken is difficult enough already :-)

Vitas is the same Vitas Odium Parit from War but without Imperial Pact,

Vitas dropped the ‘Odium Parit’ as it didnt seem appropriate, we went with Vitas as w working title but never truelly find a name we felt was fitting so we went with tradition :-)

Well, crushing victory eh? We will have to see about that, but we WILL make you fight for it, you can have your victory if you pry if from our cold, dead hands :-D

You are right, absolutely nothing can be done against this and the mesmer that is hugging the wall below where you stand is just another illusion that can safely be ignored, in fact, just to be sure, tell your allies to leave that mesmer alone.

Now for something more serious, when I get hit by one of those pesky Meteor Swarms you ellies like tossing about I cant attack the meteors, they just hit. Same with lava font, but people have no problem attacking my berserker, whats up with that?

I got a mesmer and an elementalist, if I get attacked by a berserker illusion while Im on the walls I just stroll over to the edge(those berserkers only attack once every few seconds) look down into the face of a mesmer hugging the wall and praying that no one up there sees him.

I then rain down fiery death on the mesmer, there are many classes I find a nuisance when Im defending a wall but mesmers are not one of those.

This is a call to remove zergstopping siege to protect the ‘smaller side’?

Arrowcarts are cheap, whether you buy them with tokens, silver or get them from chests. Its one of the cheapest siege and great to stop a large group of people.

As has been pointed out above, catapults and ballistae have greater range(and are also not that expensive) so you can counter what that.

Vanz, as Mushy stated we will mostly be on Piken Square Borderlands this week. Our guild tag is [VS].

My compliments on your guild warband, it moves as a single creature. Very nice maneauvering. We’ve already seen what happens if I throw a zerg at you in Warhammer so forgive me if I dont try that again :-p

Lucky for us on Gunnars that Red Guard left though it seems, your fighting hard enough allready.

Since Blacktide also holds some Warhammer veterans it might be that Red Guard will find likeminded spirits in Syndics CIR and Snorths Unnamed on Blacktide. Reading the posts Red Guard is definatly getting noticed favorably over on Blacktide.

Is Red Guard still being led by that grumpy warrior priest Sacrx? would love to fight him next week if Piken hasnt moved up a bracket then, there are some puggies I’d like him to meet :-p

But some misconceptions seem to have creeped into the thread somehow, Ill reinstate below.

I, personally, will mostly be gunning for Piken Square. Not out of any hatred towards them but rather the opposite. I know other WvW leaders share my opinion(dont worry AB, some of us are quite keen to go gunning for you). Gunnars Hold will not ally against AB and certainly not against Piken. Im not a representative of the server but Ive heard most of the guildleaders views about alliance and I agree with them, wont do that here.

The meeting at the end of the week would be more a convivial meeting and discussing of the week, I will not try to coerce Piken guilds to move to Gunnars, they dont need an invite from their old comrade/enemy to know they would be very welcome and Im not going to suggest they give up their organisation on Piken.

Ill view any invite from Piken as the compliment it is but as long as there is still life and community in Gunnars this is my home. Piken would however be my first choice for moving, followed closely by the honorable people of Kodash.

Gunnars Hold has delivered for me, little drama any more, awesome people to fight besides and challenging enemies in front. Even should we lose this week we have proven in previous weeks that Gunnars morale doesnt break easily, not while we can still pick up a sword!

Piken Square holds many familair guilds and names for us Gunnars Hold fighters. People we have fought besides and against, it is good to see you again.

Lets get the obvious out of the way first, Yes we would definatly like you to join us, no, Im not asking you to move. You have a very solid server and cooperation going on in Piken. So do we, but why should you consider moving to us?

Every week Gunnars Hold has a WvW meeting in which the week is discussed. Tactics are formed and reformed and ideas exchanged. I’d like to invite Piken Square WvW-ers to a similar meeting at the end of the week. Not just the old war veterans like Dreddz, Vzirel and others but all of you that want to come.

It should be an interesting meeting, and nice to hear how the other side experiences Gunnars. Im sure we can find a voicecomm server to use, I doubt the Gunnars Hold Server Mumble would be suitable since not all would be happy to share that with off-server people.

Please send me a message if you are on Pikens Square and want to come to this meeting, I suggest meeting at 21:00 British time on a friday.

Good start to the new WvW week, Piken Square holds many old friends and enemies of Gunnars Hold(often the same people). Friendly tells were exchanged from both sides which was promptly followed by cheerfull attempts to stamp each others fighters into the ground.

Going to get some sleep, at this time Gunnars is leading but we have been losing ground. Can go all ways. Abbandons and Piken, see you on the battlefield.

Shout out to Gunnars new Commanders, you’ll be baptised by fire this week it seems. Slaughtererer, Im glad you saw sense and embraced the blue tag now. Please dont hold my contribution in that against me :-p

I have no problem with you guys doing whatever you want (though your pretentious attitude lately makes me glad i’ve left), but it’s kinda hypocritical to call us “quitters”, claim we’ve chickened out, and then try to recruit guilds from servers which are lower in ranking than you.

With your attitude towards us, how can you possibly claim to respect people who move from lower ranks to you considering the rank difference between Blacktide and Gunnar’s was rather small at the time of us leaving?

Different servers, different playstyles, GH’s didn’t suit ours, we left and you claim you like it. Try to be a bit more convincing and stop bringing it up, stop playing the downtrodden server. You are nowhere near down enough in rankings to excuse the stuff i’ve seen on the forums from GH.

Not accusing you mate, I did state people didnt leave because of losing, sorry if it came across like that. Lets leave this be now so this thread can continue, Gunnars Hold truelly has a lot of respect for CIR’s decision to move. Lets leave it at that,same goes for us that stayed, lets not start arguments here. Blacktide was a good server and no one blames you for moving.

Please do not react to the ‘pretentious attitude’ remark for I can see this thread spiralling out of control if that happens, remarks flying back and forth etc. nasty business.

Give my regards to Sacrx btw, Ive been told he recently moved to Blacktide.

Loyalty to your server is a good thing, as is your organising the guilds that are there. My compliments for digging in your heels. Aurora Glade is giving us hell in these last few hours of the match up and Gunnars wishes you well in the next weeks.

Doubtless we will face each other again when you once again rise in rank, the quality of your fighters seems good.

Gunnars Hold had a few people move when we started losing, though Id not want to imply that they left because of that. They left for better fights. As a result, the remaining people pulled together and more guilds came to join our server. Im sure the same will happen with Aurora.

Good luck in future fights, most servers out there, including heavily populated onces, send invites to large guilds to join them. Gunnars is always looking for like minded guilds, unfortunatly that means we would want server-loyal guilds and they are not exactly likely to move :-p

every Friday there is also a WvW meeting on Gunnars Hold where the past week is discussed and plans are made for the coming week. All players from Gunnars Hold are welcome.

It says a lot about our community that despite the large numbers that attend, the meetings are pleasant and informative.

As for the late night crew: the Gunnars Hold mumble has people active till late at night, since I dont stay on till early morning I dont know how active our mumble is then, but there definatly is a strong presence at night.

Frequent server wide WvW events also help boost numbers during nights. Our lack of queus has taught us to pay more attention to the distribution of numbers when we face more populous servers.

Gunnars Hold has never had the population some other servers have. Often outnumbered, the Gunnars Hold fighters found themselves running with the outmanned buff more often then not.

Ever optimistic most of us responded with ‘great, more loot and no queues!’ it also led our server to draw closer together, outmanned but never outgunned. The server wide mumble drew in guilds wishing to cooperate.

From the largest guilds down to individual players Gunnars Hold Mumble gives all a place to tune in and be a part of server wide WvW, apart from giving a sound strategical advantage its a great place to socialise with our comrades in arms on the server.

Our server has attracted several guilds over the past weeks, there are still hours in which we are outmanned but the fight never truelly dies. The people currently fighting on Gunnars Hold have proven to carry on the fight despite the odds.

If your guild shares our mentallity we will welcome you to Gunnars Hold with open arms, we will not promise easy fights or a fast rise through the rank, we promise hard but fun fights alongside a great community!

Rise to the challenge and come seek us out!

See you on the battlefield tomorrow for the final evening of fun. Even outmanned and losing there have been some outstanding fights. Especially enjoyed the 3 way, 40minute, garrison lord room fight on Tuesday.

Same here, got most of that fight on fraps, awesome stuff. All sides seconds away from capping for nearly an hour.

Thanks for the sportsmanship Kodash, though never easy, its been a pleasure fighting you.

Nexus, your side won the garrison fair and square, no need to return it.

Gunnars has shown that we will not stand for cheaters, regardless of which side they are on. Lets carry on the fight.

for some reason aurora is pretty dead at the moment so have fun:) largest group i seen all week from our server was 30, sucks to be us.

and most have walked from the game due to not being able to see this week…makes wvw fun fighting the invisible armies xd.

The invisible armies are annoying, but they do encourage people to just charge in. One group member charged 30 people to get to the orb because he could only see the orb carrier. Turns out he could only see those things I targetted for him.

Compliments to the guilds Xaoc and War Inc from Blacktide, been some very nice fighting.

As for any night or morning capping: its 24/7 warfare, I doubt all of us would agree to only fight at designated times. Both Aurora and Blacktide however fight during our primetime.

Might be nice to face opponents who appear to need sleep. Though I have nothing against nightcapping, Gunnar’s Hold has done our fair share of nightcapping, Elona is just better at it. Coffee must be really strong in Germany :-)

During the day they are good fighters as well so still having fun. Same with Kodash, they keep attacking Elona and us fervently, the current war is practically over, the scores differ to much to be changed overnight.

Epic battles again tonight,

Fighting in Elona’s Borderlands. Kodash was laying siege to the Garrison controlled by Elona. While any keep is a tempting prize this keep contained an orb. Both Kodash and Gunnars Hold felt that Elona didnt really need all three orbs.

Admittedly, it was Kodash who did the first hard bit of exhausting supplies, when the supplies where judged sufficiently low by warleaders of both KISS and Initiative alliance a surprise golem attack was launched on an uncontested gate.

The golems quickittenook us to the inner gate, but when it was nearly down Kodash jumped us in the back. Understandable, they had just spend a lot of effort wearing down the Garrison and werent about to let us take off with their prize.

After wiping us out handidly Kodash, ever pragmatic, continued our work on the gate. To be wiped by Elona, I was there and could see all, sharing a ledge with an Elona defender untill the bugger started taking potshots at me.

Our forces quickly returned to the keep to find Kodash had beaten us to the gate, this time it was their turn to be the meat in a three server sandwich, after which we started work on the now-repaired inner gate. We managed to get it halfway down before angry Kodashians turned the tables on us. I wonder if Elona did anything but laugh and repair gates during that time, their invaders were too busy killing themselves for the privelege of beating down their door.

In the end, Gunnars Hold took the keep, but Elona made off with the orb, fortifying the only objective left to them at that time: titanspaw.

We did get the orb, but lost it later to Kodash. These three pronged wars are very entertaining. It was also good to see the two separate alliances ,KISS and Initiative, team up succesfully.

Respect to our enemies, KISS, Initiative and the countless of other guilds that were present during this fighting. Good cooperation and communication guys!

Yes, never seen so much siege, and taking it down only encourages our enemies to build twice as many, with three times the amount of guards.

But we also managed to counter, couldn’t move for ballista’s, catapults, arrowcarts and trebs. To the Elona Reach Mesmers: you really are very annoying, which is the best compliment you can give those one-man-armies.

Kodash, well done in fighting on yesterday on your borderlands. Gunnar’s had been wiped off the map, leaving just Elona and you, despite them having three orbs there was a fierce tug of war between Briar and Bay. I used the distraction to kill some caravans with a small group.

A salute to both these servers, you have so far proven to be excellent and tough opponents.

When some of us in Gunnars Hold first saw the new match up we groaned in agony, two servers with the same nationality? after just having fought two other servers who allied against us we thought ‘here we go again’.

As we expected both servers put up a hell of a fight over the weekend, despite Gunnars Hold taking the lead initially you clawed and fought your way back, unexpected, you also fought each other viciously.

I heard that one of our previous opponents now finds itself in the same situation we were in, fighting against two allied servers. If I were a better man I probably wouldnt take such amusement and satisfaction from that.

The fights so far have been very entertaining. Morale in Gunnars Hold WvW is high, even when you managed to take an orb keep, we fought you for every inch. The battle is just starting and we will fight you till the end.
