I find it interesting that the majority (so far) didn’t buy keys for this event and have no intention of buying keys for future events either. Also it’s almost split down the middle between people who bought keys and will do so again to people who won’t be doing so again.

Yes it’s possible. Was farming with someone yesterday who got an endless from the normal ToT bags.

I’m wondering if LA is going to become the central themed area to keep everyone together and interacting… and of course, to deck out the other cities as well as LA would be a massive undertaking. I would definitely applaud them more then I have already though (which is quite a bit).

Of course that data base is horrendously small considering the amount actually opened… I opened 2 chests. Got the Ghastly Shield skin… I really don’t imagine it being quite as low as what is posted on that forum.

I too am enjoying the event. Well done and beyond what I expected (which was quite a bit coming from GW1).

Also if GW1 is any indication, the skins should be retired and replaced next year. No guarantee though ^^. (I too hope this is the case :P)

Actually the more rare and good looking the skin, the more desirable it is. Take the gun skin that comes out the chests, or the dagger skin. Is going for 1-2g on the tp right now because 1. It’s the more “common” drop and 2. it’s not as desired as the shield or the greatsword skins which are going for 22-35g respectively. So yes, there are MANY people who obtain something because it’s rare and not many have it. There’s also that satisfaction of owning something that not many others have.

I do agree that there should have been some sort of free skins given out to the casual players, and all players really for having participated. With that in mind, we have no idea what the Mad King has in store for the next 3 acts and looking at GW1 it should be good… So hold out and have faith. I’m sure anet has not abandoned the casual players to having souvenirs. It just may not be the rare drops from the BLC or the long term crafting projects.

People are going to kitten no matter what they do. It’s chance. Always has been. They said you’ll get a second chance, and that the other items associated with the Mad King chest would be Halloween related (as that was another item of contention). They did not however state that the chance of a skin would increase exponentially or become guaranteed. Really tired of seeing this. You want a skin, farm, get gold and buy one.

There won’t be “only high lvl” stuff going on. ANet has already stated that they want the event to be accessible. They also dropped the hint of “remember we’re able to upscale you as needed as well” (paraphrased). So you shouldn’t worry to much over it.

First off would like to give a big thank you to all the staff at ANet for the Halloween fun thus far.

Secondly, I was wondering if you guys would be implementing a Festival Hat Keeper similar to what was in GW1? If not, why not? It would make it a lot easier to store festival hats rather then having them sitting in your inventory or bank taking up space. Also if you happen to lose/discard/destroy your hat you could get them remade for a small fee. He could be found in LA or if had to be instanced, inside everyone home instance? Just a thought. I know I have things of more “priority” sitting in my bank and now have the release base ball cap as well as the devil horns.

Just let it keep “retrying” and it will get through. I just did.
