Well you have one thing right, JQ had to compete agianst BG and SoR- You guys just had to compete against JQ Had to 2v1 to force us into third huh?

It seems that this achievement won’t pop for me… I’ve been in WvW since the season started, have been to all the BL and EB and still nothing…. is this a bug or is this awarded later? The achievement simply states that you need to visit a WvW map in order to obtain it.

Alright, I rescind my statement, was made in the moment and I agree, everyone does double team, and the zerging is just part of it… but please enough of the hacking/sabotage. THAT is just pure unsportsmanlike for anyone to do, and is plain irritating and counterproductive to an enjoyable match up. No one enjoys hacking and disruptions and trolls, even though we all have to deal with them (this is at ALL servers).

I love how many are saying JQ should be in here kittening about the schedule, and I have to say I think we would be if we hadn’t been double fisted this entire week- If you guys had put on an actual fight instead of 2v1 the whole time, JQ probably wouldn’t be irked half as much at the current match up, and be more willing to come in and say hey, let’s change this. As it stands, I think we just want to watch you bash heads against one another for a bit.

Hey is Mesmer screwed on Beaten Bloody achievement? My phantasms don’t deal damage to the Bloody Prince because they are not on the candy coat. Of course, I could lure the Prince to the slop, but that takes time, and there’s a 1 minute limit. Which leaves me ranging with the auto-attack…

Because it’s become a server wide, raid style boss. Gotta motivate your server to do him, and get people organized before hand. JQ beats him twice a day, once right after server reset, and the second one is the second time he spawns, so 2h30min later or whatever his spawn time is. We have our groups made and ready as soon as his spawn window comes up, we know where everyone is going, what everyone is doing, and people from each group on TS with one leader directing everyone. It’s a highly coordinated fight that requires time and dedication but it’s doable.

This is kinda of the problem… you kill him twice a day straight after reset, if you cant be there at that time then there is little hope of getting this done since no matter the server, this area seems empty after that time.

Silly thing is, that other day I was in a overflow (yep just after reset), no ts/rc/vent just alot of randoms that decided we would give it a go since everyone should know what to do by now, and we made it with 3mins on clock. Ofc we had the nayslayers that wanted to do just flawless.. or try for hidden but in the end this the map won because we tried, unfortunately its the people attitude failing this now, “Omg Overflow this is gonna fail”. It took one small group to change the maps opinion, wasnt the smoothest kill id been on, but in a way a lot more fun

Well then that’s just proving it even more, if a group in overflow is able to rally the server to do it, then get out there and rally… I understand what you’re saying but I don’t think the world bosses were MEANT to be farmed over and over again every time they’re up.

Teq gives a reason for the server to join together and actually CARE about what they’re doing instead of mindlessly zerging and knowing that throwing themselves at the boss like lemmings off a cliff will eventually kill it.

Dailies are in part there to encourage people to do things.
You are more likely to find people for a dungeon story when it’s story daily.

But I doubt they will work for Tequatl, as people prepare themselves or it in their own schedules, and players joining impromptu will never, ever be able to beat it.

And for the other world bosses, there’s always people already.

I have never once had a problem doing world bosses when it’s the daily world boss thing. You actually have to prepare slightly and be in the map a little before it spawns, instead of trying to join when the pre/event actually comes up.

Is it intended that the limited Mad King and Scarecrow finishers don’t store in the Finishers tab? And if it is, why not? The Christmas limited finishers stored there, as of now they’re taking up space and I’m much more likely to delete them then keep them hanging around in inventory or bank space knowing there’s a tab especially for them

I have to disagree. I enjoy this series of full map invasions, and considering this is the first time they’ve attempted something like this, having a reward win OR fail gives me incentive to get in there and try anyways. The amount of coordination needed to try and get the whole map organized is a little ridiculous. Never mind you have the first timers who don’t know what they’re doing period or the greedy/just in it for the farm ones who insist on sticking around instead of trying to get the portals down, if I wasn’t guaranteed something if we failed to summon and beat Scarlet, I’d almost never show up for the invasion in the first place.

I don’t hear growling, or even the sound of metal stressing. To me it sounds like a gong being hit every so often.

I personally hope that ANET doesn’t do an event like this again. Who really won through all of this? No one. What they managed to do was kitten off 48% of the player base that was supporting Evon while the ones supporting Kiel now get to hear about it. People are more mad at the fractals and the fact that this vote decided the Living Story for the next little while then anything else. Putting a decision like that into the hands of a blind vote just left a bad taste in a lot of peoples mouths.

Also the whole thing with the Heralds announcing the win of Evon Gnashblade, to then get mail 4min later announcing Kiel as the winner, was poor taste, whether intentional or a bug. Like a kick in the balls to everyone who supported Evon.

Eh, I just find it weird that the percentage never changed. It was always 48/52 which I just find odd tbh. Also, I feel like no matter what, Kiel would have won. It takes months to produce content that we’ll be seeing shortly. So, unless the pre-produced content for BOTH eventualities, Kiel was destined to win.

I am here asking you to kindly increase the spawn times on the holographic projectors out in the world. Sitting in Gendarren Fields and there is only ever one (1) that seems to be active and any given time ( if that! Often there is none active). Was just wondering if it would be possible to increase the amount open at a time, more like the Halloween doors or Christmas event.

Also, would be nice if you could increase the difficulty of the monsters… they die in .5s as they are now. You’re very lucky to get a hit in if there is more then two of you at the location when it pops.

Good catch. I will do so, and encourage everyone to do as well- luckily this email isn’t associated with my game account, and is my “sign up for this site blah blah” email, which is probably why I got these phishing attempts in the first place :P

So I got an email stating that there was an account security issue and they had to verify that this account truly belonged to me and to please click on inconspicuous link hereinclosed. What Gaile was saying by looking at the source is this I’m assuming

Now look at the true “Received From” line… What also tipped me off (and it’s late so scared me at first xD) is the email I was receiving this in, was my junk email, the one I use to sign up on sites and what not. Luckily for me, 2 things cued in, I remembered reading about phishing attempts and then realized “Wait a tick, this ain’t the right email for my account xD”. Always view the source of where your emails are coming from.

Edit: Just looked on the email my account is registered with, which is never registered with anything outside of business and GW2 and no suspicious emails.

I have my dodge bound to my scroll wheel. Just click it down and voila… I find it to be a suitable place. Maybe just play around with where you have the jump bound too and see what works best for you. Seems everyone is different and what might seem “natural” for one person may seem very out of place for another.

I’ve heard people grumbling about this issue, but I have not as of yet experienced this… anytime I want to do any of the meta events (Jormag included) I have never once been thrown into an overflow server. So maybe just unlucky? Or perhaps just the server you’re on… I’m on JQ and often times we just, JUST have enough people to even beat Jormag without having our kitten handed to us xD

I’m still here and lurking about (as is the balance team), gathering information to bring to meetings. For the first couple days after a patch, people are still figuring things out and getting used to changes. We didn’t kill rangers (I was doing some PvP last night, and have done a couple dungeon runs). It’s just that there’s a predictable reaction to when we change something, that we have killed classes and destroyed builds, and there’s nothing I can say or do to help in those situations. Sometimes you have to sit back and let the community sort themselves out… people depend on something (quickness) and then when that gets changed, there’s an initial period of confusion, but its always followed by “look what I can do” because people are being forced to try new things, and they do a bit of experimenting they may have not have done before.
Sure things need more attention. LB, pets, spirits.. they all need some love on our part, and they will get it. I may not be the best PvP’r out there, but I was first/second place on my team in the three games I played as a ranger (deer rank!), and I was still effective against other classes. the new quickness speed will take some getting used to, but it by no means destroyed rangers.

But me going into every thread about someone claiming bad things and giving expressions isn’t going to help (there are also a lot of those threads that I just wouldn’t be able to keep track of due to time constraints). So I sit back, watch, take notes for meetings, and try to find a good time to post to help guide the conversation.

Also Robert, I’m wondering why you do not have two separate skill systems as it were like in GW1. When you enter into the mists or PvP you are given the “PvP” version of a skill (if the skill varies from the PvE version) .It would be a lot easier to balance around as what works in PvE doesn’t necessarily work in PvP and vice-versa. You also wouldn’t be killing PvE exclusive players by implementing nerfs or changes that are targeted solely at PvP game play.

IIRC you can throw any 3 of the festive minis in with the 50 stuffing and still get the 4th mini. So duplicates are useable.

Yes but some people are getting 9-10-11 of these minis (lucky kittens) and what are they going to do with them? Destroy them, because there is nothing else to do with them. Honestly, if they wanted to make it a gamble, they could have at least made it so that they could be traded and obtainable that way.

What I was saying is if they really REALLY want to have the rng element added for these minis, was why didn’t they wait until the festival started and then add the toy minis into these chests? At least this way people are already going to be able to build at least 2 of the ones they really want and then would be able to just buy the actual festive mini’s straight out of the store. For hardcore collectors they would be able to gamble a bit for the minis while still at least having gotten their 2 favourite ones while the rest of the population has equal and guaranteed access to the festive ones. I would gladly buy 2 trio packs to get all 4 mini’s like it was for halloween, but the way it is now, I’m not spending a dime.

I don’t want everything, I just want the minis. They have no purpose except as collectables, so yes of course the people who are interested are going to want to try and get all of them. No one sets out to collect odd bits and pieces of a set, they might not succeed in completing the collection but that’s always the goal.

I, honestly, felt I got lucky. I bought 40 chests and received 3 minis (2 of the same, missing the snowman unfortunately) and a ticket to get a wooden skin (which is the one thing I was really excited for). I’m sure if more people complained about it then ArenaNet might compromise but I wouldn’t get my hopes up for it. At least, they are making the toy minis purchasable through the gemstore. The other 4 are probably there just for an incentive to buy the chests. You have to look through it as a business model: if you have a 1/1 chance of getting something from buying it then you’re going to have a roof to how much you’ll make; or if you decrease the chance to maybe 1/15 (just guessing here, I have no idea of the drop rate) then you are bound to make more than the first option.

They will continue to change throughout the week as Tixx produces the different toys. There’s also a random chance to see a toy (or skritt) from an earlier day. I’m sorry that these are currently too difficult, have you tried tackling them with an extra person or two?

So we can all get one shotted? No offense but I think you need to tone down the difficulty on these guys…. In his workshop they were all right because we were scaled up, this feels like you took them directly from the work shop, plopped them into the mysterious present and so screwed anyone in low lvl areas.

So let me get this straight…..

The Christmas toys are minis, but were only going to be able to get 2 out of the 5 by doing the dungeon, and the rest are going to be on the TP for gems… Meanwhile we also have the FESTIVE mini’s that are completely rng in those chests. Is there any reason why we wouldn’t have been able to just buy the festive minis and stick the Tixx mini’s in the boxes? That, to me would make MUCH more sense and most likely would stop some of the kittening that’s going on.

Well I was planning on buying gems for the event, specifically for the minipets because I was under the impression that it was going to be like Halloween. However, now I am not, for the simple fact of; I don’t think it’s ok to gamble for something account bound. Not fun, not fair…..

You guys have made the perma-bankers and what have you non account bound, I would assume you’ve learnt that people are getting lots of these and destroying them. Same thing is going to happen with the people that are buying the chests to get these minis. Some are going to be very lucky and have a surplus that’s just going to be destroyed because they’re account bound.

I, personally, would rather have these minis tradeable at high cost then not have a chance whatsoever after opening chests. In this way it gives me something to work toward. From what I’ve seen of the Lost Shores minis, their prices are high, but not unmanageable. Or if you must make them account bound, make it so you’re able to buy them right out of the gem store, requiring the double purchase in order to get the baby quaggan.

I hope you reconsider how these minis are being handled.

I actually think they were going to make it free…. then people started kittening about new players buying brand new accounts were getting a wizards hat, so they made it so the vocal minority crying about a hat now got their hat, consequentially putting a price on all the holiday hats -_-

As someone said… why is everyone rushing and panicking about when it will go live? There is absolutely nothing that is happening that is “one time” or you must log on when it goes live to see. Wintersday will be waiting and for when you have the time to log on. ANet has never really given ETA’s because if something goes wrong or there’s something in the patch that needs fixing and causes a delay it saves a lot of grumbling about “well they said it was going live at insert time”.
