OS = One Shot?
Thats all I can guess. How is an ele going to do that? Aura share the p2 blast lolz?
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
I hope it’s to create a fun competitive scene worth watching and participating in. Problem of course, how do you do that with all the varying skill levels and gameplay preferences?
Its the same problem with PvP. The Abjured (or TCG/oRng on EU) win everything so how do you get second or third or fourth tier teams to enter? They solve the problem with mini llamas. Win a round, get a llama. Top teams get byes so you are assured that your first round you aren’t paired against pros. This means if you’re a second or third tier team you have a decent shot at getting a llama. That little prize is enough to get people interested.
Ofcourse, I suggested the same thing is needed for PvE to Anet… and here we are.
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
I’m having the same issue.
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
Im not talking about balance. Im talking about how easily people accept opinions without giving them any further thought. Criticize me for what i say; not for what i dont say.
It’s the oldest trick in the world. U ignore what i really say; instead u put words in my mouth that i never said and u blame me for them lol. Get real, pal.
Your example shows how much u know about ranger. Stowing pet doesnt work if u take a tick of damage, as u point out. However, as long as u have pet on inactive, it wont draw aggro. Only the ranger can draw aggro in that case. Get the facts right. That’s my whole point. And try to make a distinction between opinions that are presented as facts and facts. Of course, that implies that u really know what u are talking about. And I’m saying that just because someone thinks a certain class is inappropriate for a certain encounter, doesn’t mean they are an idiot. You seem pretty sure that if someone says anything about any class, they are an idiot.
The so-called “elitism” is just a nice word for prejudices against certain classes that are built on what idiots say and which are gladly taken over by other idiots who’d like to look competent.
Am I misinterpreting this quote? Because it seems like anyone who criticizes certain classes is an idiot according to you. Which to me implies that you believe all classes are perfectly balanced, which is why I brought up balance. There are definitely idiots who talk crap and don’t know what it means, but there is also a source for it all, inherent class imbalance in different encounters. To me, your statement was making light of this issue.
You were 100% correct about the agro thing, and I edited my post. However, there are valid criticisms of pretty much every class in certain content. I don’t think its fair to say, everyone with these criticisms is an idiot.
Phalanx Strength singlehandedly provides 25 stacks of party-wide Might – mostly from auto-attacks.
I went to pvp, and tested on undestructible golumns. So this doesn’t have the benefit of fried dumplings. But I had standard dps sigils + strength runes. But getting 25 stacks seems pretty rare on a single target, and yes I was using signet precision stacks/banner of disc. If I gave up signet of fury and replaced it with fgj I probably could get up to the full 25 at least for the group. But that’s a 20% personal dps loss on your initial burst (which happens multiple times on most fractal bosses). You could take “to the limit” over healing signet, but then you lose 5 stacks. Now, obviously ps war gets to 25 very easily on trash mobs, where you can cleave. But who really cares about the trash mobs. We literally perma blind them and don’t even dodge. In addition, on bosses which require frequent dodging like diviner, I don’t think you will really see that 25 stacks very frequently, certainly won’t see it party wide (limited range), except maybe on a deep freeze burn.
PS Warrior average Might maintained over 30 seconds…
Strength + dumplings = 23
Strength + DPS Food = 18
Scholar + dumplings = 16
Scholar + DPS food = 11
Organized groups doing casual runs can get away with strength + dps food. Guilds doing record type runs in low level dungeons can get away Scholar + DPS food. Level 80 record runs you can handle scholar + dumplings. Pugs and rather casual runs you probably want strength and dumplings.
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
Condi ranger is the second best condi build in PvE and has better sustained DPS than the berserker build, and much of it is burning. Not sure where the idea that it didn’t have good burning access is coming from.
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
If you wait for other groups to advertise on the LFG it will seem very slow. If you post your own groups they will fill instantly. Why is everyone so afraid of making their own listing on the LFG?
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
Rules look good. Changes to active voting (yes/no specific issues only not new rules) is really good.
As far as guilds who didn’t show up, were they not invited or did they just choose to not show up? I wasn’t there I have no idea. I assume qT was invited and chose not to show up.

There are only a few bosses I would be worried about moving so much that I would have to adjust how I played. And for those, it’s a matter of anticipation.

Berserker staff ele is around 17.5k
That is without glyph of storm and without icebow, right?
That is with Glyph and Ice Bow. Human size hit box target.
Oh, then Anet, pls, nerf Ice Bow so engi can take eles place.
I’ve been saying that for a while.
They should nerf variable sized hitboxes. There is no reason an ele should do 17.5k dps vs Belka but 27kdps against Lupicus.
The size of hitboxes is likely to hamper development of challenging raids. Imagine a 10 man raid with 7x Ice bow, glyph and Meteorshower vs a Lupi sized hit box. How much HP do they plan to give to a boss to survive that? They need to figure out how to standardize hit box sizes.
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
Hell you’re not even gonna get 17k on that ele build without a ranger in the first place since you need Frost Spirit.
Have you ever seen a staff ele in an organized group? 17.5k is an understatement. It’s based on human size hit box targets, against larger targets it shoots up to 25-30k, plus there is nothing in the game that even comes close to the initial burst of an elementalist. FWIW, we don’t assume Frostspotter in our DPS calcs unless we are looking at Ranger specifically. If you add spotter and frost spirit ele would be even higher.
For any other situation where you don’t have a matching dungeon potion, don’t have an EA warrior and Spotter Ranger, aren’t downscaled, aren’t nighttime, mob isn’t 2600 armor, etc. ranger is going to be more overall DPS.
Oh please.
Which is actually what I just said, so it sorta sounds like we’re mostly in agreement on this.
Sorta except that 15.5k dps with perfect rotations in fully buffed parties is not really close to a very conservative 17.5k.
With absolutely perfect DPS rotations…
Condi http://imgur.com/e4eMOHT
Berserker http://imgur.com/GYExg1z
These are absolutely perfect optimized rotations, Condi beats berserker by about 700 DPS. Pretty nice. I don’t see much of a reason to ever use Berserker ranger unless they make some boss fights where conditions are useless, which I honestly doubt they will ever do again.

Ofcourse I want the coolest stuff for the community. It’s pretty clear to me that large scale tournaments, at least at this point, are tough to support with the playerbase and developer support we have. That’s no slight to anet either, they didn’t have to give us all those gem codes and they did which is awesome, but I was as clear as could be almost a year ago to them that “gold and gems are not enough to motivate people, we need unique rewards.” Without something exciting, and I gave them some baller ideas that would have gotten the community on fire if they approved any of them, its just ho-hum gold and gems.
I think a smaller weekly or monthly series is workable because you don’t need as large a player base to support it or big developer support to fund it.

Here comes the strawman. Let’s burn it!
Strawman would imply that I’m just making it up and there isn’t a ton of evidence behind it.
How did you pug tournament work out? Or the Ascension Project? Or any of the other initiatives that required people to, you know, want to get off their butts and do them? These things don’t die because the ideas are bad or the people coming up with the ideas are missing something, it’s just extremely hard to motivate people.

The weekly ones were stopped pretty much because of time zone issues having them on weekdays, i.e. hard to get EU guilds to stay up until 3am to run them during NA prime time and we couldn’t run them during the week during NA working time.. If they were moved to a weekend day it would be pretty easy to revive.
I think you have a good idea here. The weekly tournaments were more of a head to head grudge match previously. I think a PvE GvG concept would be cool, but I don’t know if you want to rope it off to guilds only or allow multi-guild teams to play.
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
@Nike
Speaking like you then they should demolish ESL Weekly altogether because it’s outright obvious who’s gonna win each week?
It’s pretty obvious who is going to win, but so long as people still enter each week and people still watch it seems viable to continue. So no, you’re mistaken.
Also, as far as I understand, the community you speak of seems to only evolve around a certain elite number who actually cares enough to compete and those who are interested to support the tourney as the audience don’t count as the community?
The fact is, Iris, that only 5 teams were entered. I see more than 5 guilds holding current meta restricted records. That’s who I am referring to, plus the myriad other guilds who define themselves as “dungeon guilds” and chose not to enter.
or is it the same community which was described by you as “ingrate, jealous, foolish, etc” or the community who has authority over speed run record ruling?
Take your personal grudges elsewhere. There are a lot of ingrateful jealous fools in this community, and every other one.
I have seen this word thrown around a lot to describe different groups of people but in the end it is almost always used loosely as a straw man to take any kinds of blame, insult and responsibility.
I didn’t use those words in reference to this topic. I’ll thank you to not conflate them.
Am I safe to count myself not a part of this community?
The community is open to who ever wants to be a part of it, as I said the only barrier is a team’s willingness to compete. I believe you were in the first ever tournament, so by definition you were already in it.
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
Incase people haven’t heard, the event is cancelled due to lack of interest from the community to register teams.
who represent “community” here?
Anyone was free to register a team, so the community in reference was any interested trio team.
People complain that they don’t get challenging content, that anet doesn’t pay attention etc. Then when stuff like this happens they don’t participate because the truth is practicing is hard work and time consuming and they aren’t really looking to be challenged.
Wanting a challenge and jumping into a competitive scene is a very different thing.
Literally the only barrier is how much practice you’re willing to put in. But I would agree with you that the tournaments are extremely competitive and that is likely off putting to casual teams who don’t want to practice.
PvP tournaments get around this by giving good rewards to teams that win a single round (mini llama) so you get enough casual teams who want to take a shot at beating other casual teams for a prize. We don’t have that luxury so there isn’t a strong incentive for teams who know they arent top 4 material to enter.

Berserker staff ele is around 17.5k

Berserker ranger is around 14k.
Condi ranger is a viable replacement for berserker ranger, and more fun to boot. But it doesn’t change the overall meta because ranger is still much worse overall than multiple other options, however it doesn’t really kitten your team if you do use one.

You guys in a lot of fights where the CD reduction of Haste from Trickster is relevant? Really? I think if so you have bigger issues than min/maxing your Thief DPS.

Haste isn’t really “a must” considering it doesn’t really add much DPS, and if it procs at a weird time and messes up your rotation it will cost you tons of DPS.
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
Why Geomancy? Earf is better.
Earth is a sustained 3.5 bleed stacks in this ranger build. Geomancy is 5.9ish. But yeah, I think its worth trading sub-1% overall damage for faster ramp up time so I don’t use either.
Also you know Bursting is +6% to condi damage stat, not +6% to damage per tick, right? At 2900 condition damage you will get an extra 174 condition damage, which is worth about 10 extra damage per bleed tick and 27 per burn tick. With average 20 bleeds and 8 burns that is worth about 400 extra damage. On the other hand Earf is about 4 extra bleeds which is worth about 1k.
I’m very aware. But the ramp up time on Earth is meaningful. When we look at DPS we look at 10 second, 15 second and 30 second and then repeatable if the repeatable rotation is longer than 30 seconds. Repeatable is important for solos and duos, but 10 and 15 for dungeons and 30 for some fractal fights. But I find that 10 and 15 is by far the most important.
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
Colin later clarified his comments on reddit and indicated not the dedicated anything would be required, only that it wouldn’t be useless to have full support character.
PSA: any healing you can achieve from a single dedicated healer you can surpass with 5 berserkers using coordination to blast water fields and trait/gear for perma-regeneration.
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
If you’re going to say Aristocracy because of might stacking, let me cut you off right there. Ranger barely self-stacks any might (other than on pet) and anything you’re gonan get from sigils is not going to offset the loss of Malice/Earth.
Luckily I’m not!
For everything else damage-related, I’ve already considered as alternatives 5x Nightmare, Balthazar, and Krait runes and the are all extremely close in overall DPS. If it comes down to it though having general condition duration that also buffs your vuln and weakness applications will end up being slightly more useful overall.
I’m sure you have, but I’m talking min/maxing. Technically, the absolute best is Balthazar with Agony and Geomancy but that has a ramp up time which sucks for group play. Balthazar with Malice and Bursting is less than 1% less over time and doesn’t have a ramp up time so that’s probably best overall.
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
Except Air is better than force is many, many fights. It’s like the opposite of Frailty. You get all the Air damage right up front, whereas Force takes time to equal Air. the shorter the fight the bigger Air’s advantage.
Air is especially advantaged if you in a situation like Ranger longbow or PS warrior Axe. You will only be on those sets for a small portion of the fight right at the beginning. Best dps is to do your Axe vuln skills (proccing Air) or Rapid Fire and then swap to your 10%/5% main set. This way you get the benefit of Air front loaded damage but don’t have to live with the long term consequences of Air’s ICD.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/3erhpp/what_makes_other_mmos_challenging/
Already starting to see comments like “zerk meta is the problem”. Here we go again!
Other MMOs are challenging? This is news to me.
One guy standing there screaming “hit me” while another guy heals him doesn’t strike me as “challenging”
Wildstar, SWTOR and WoW have extremely challenging raids still. The old tank and spank trinity is pretty much dead. Modern raids are all about movement/positioning, individual responsibility and coordination.
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
Hybrid builds don’t work in GW2 PvE. What happens is you end up with an inferior direct damage build and an inferior condition damage build and the sum of the two is less than if you just dedicated yourself one way or the other.
I’d like to see your take on it and how it could be as optimal as possible, it’s in the build thread in my sig under PvE world events and farming. Sinister Trapper.
Lose the Sword. Use Honed Axes. Viper Nest isn’t really worth it, better with Frost Spirit/QZ/movespeed sig for open world.
I like this a bit better… http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vNAQRAnf3fjMqQ7K2tCOrAXLGSEq+C21nmXgy9A+AIZn5UeSJkaF-TxxCABNqEEgDCAzq/cy+DOr874HAAynAQvApAgZZF-e
The big thing is going harder on burning than Might stacking. I think your DPS results will be superior if you focus on hitting the 100% burn cap than might stacking. The plus side is you will be better if you want to use the build in a dungeon.
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
But that guy posting is a ranger. I can’t really blame a ranger for hating melee/stacking. sword is such a pile of kitten.
He will like it a lot better when he switched to Axe/Torch.
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
kitten y is correct, Frailty takes 7 seconds to “ramp up” which is just about when Glyph Vuln starts going away. The real question is, when do you use Sigil of Air over Sigil of Force?
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
I have a pretty good idea. Since they asked me the same questions before each tournament and when DnT was hosting the records. Each time my answer was “Ask Cookie” or “Ask Ravi” or “Ask Weth.” So yeah, I have a pretty good idea of how many questions you got.
If you know people have been confused about the rules then why are we having this discussion?
[/quote]
FWIW, I, and presumably you, could have easily answered all the questions for them based on the rules as they existed as a permissive ruleset but I didn’t feel it was appropriate since I wasn’t a rules admin or record approver. So I just sent them along.
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
Until we see the math of sinister mainhand axe/torch vs sword/torch I’m not sure its correct.
Surprisingly, they are equal. Like within 150 DPS of each other.
Second surprising fact: for any fight lasting over 10 seconds, Sun Spirit is better than QZ even for berserker ranger.
Third (un)suprising fact, Guang’s build is good, but suboptimal. There are higher DPS Runes and Sigils to use. Stay tuned.

Your point was that Nike had “nothing” to do with record hosting. Now we all know that such statement is absurdly absurd.
Actually, it’s not absurd because indeed I had nothing to do with it. If you think you know differently, please explain what I had to do with it in specifics. FWIW, I had as much to do with it as the leader of the Final Fantasy branch of DnT had to do with it, which is to say, none.
You had nothing to do with it yet you posted about it on reddit, you defended it against the community, and you insulted people once they found a better alternative?
Yeah…
I am not sure what is worse about a leader: lying, or not being responsible for what goes on under his leadership.
Edit: by the way, would you care to explain that insulting record page? Your own guild mates seem to be not “aware” of it.
Any argument that occurred on reddit was the result of the typical teenage drama I have to defuse when dealing with children.
Insulting record page I have no memory of. I don’t edit the pages on our website and I didn’t see it if there was because I don’t think I ever navigated to that page once. I’ll take you at your word and assume there was some negative salty comment there and I’ll assume it was Brazil who made it since he usually updated the pages. Direct all hate mail to him, I’m sure that will be fun for everyone.
edit: I posted it on reddit because I have the highest reddit karma of anyone in the guild so when I posts they don’t get immediately buried.

Also I would like to hear why would I create pointless polls on purpose when it just wastes my time?
What’s pointless or meaningful to different people is different. For all I know you enjoy the work and having something to tinker with entertains you.
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
Condi warrior is fairly useless in group play. The DPS is rather low even with Sinister gear and fully party buffs. Dire would be a good deal worse.
Condi Engie is quite strong, however.

But I have waited weeks for someone to explain me what is so horrible with the current situation. The voting pace has already slowed since the backlog was dealt with. Current rules are mostly the same as before. What exactly is so different than before?
That’s just it: there was no backlog. All the stupid pointless votes to end up at the same place we could have been without the stupid votes. And you would have avoided all the trap votes that had trick question type results, which really kittened people off. I’m sure you are probably not great aware of how upset basically everyone was when an innocuous vote on a typical non-issue had the result of unbanning of lupi wall. People were extremely angry, I’m sorry I have to be the one voicing it to you and explaining it when I have people from every guild whispering me every day about the situation. I know English isn’t everyone’s first language so they dont post here but don’t think it’s just me.
Secondly, I was not the least bit involved with the records when they were on our site. I didn’t touch the rules, I didn’t approve records, I didn’t create the subforum and I didn’t create the leaderboard. It wasn’t my idea to host it, it wasn’t anything I concerned myself with. The only thing I did was post about it on reddit, because a post I make is more likely to be seen and not buried immediately. I hope that clarifies it for you #dntspiracies
Lastly, we aren’t trying to take over anything. We don’t want to. This ingrate community, as you now know first hand Weth, isn’t super thankful of the hardwork people put in to organize things. I’ve said from the start of your administration that you’ve done an awesome job with the site and the functionality of it. Better than anyone could have hoped. The criticism I have, and very many others share, is how you took it upon yourself to revamp/revise/clarify the rules, which I don’t think people were too interested in. I’ll be extra clear; there are two jobs here. One is hosting the records and leaderboard. The other is making sure the rules are posted and the records adhere to them. You did a perfect job with the former. You took the latter job as a chance to innovate and revise when that is NOT what most people expected of your or wanted you to do. FWIW, I still think the voting mechanism could work but only if it isn’t abused with trick questions and useless clarifications and is reserved for matters of serious importance.
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
I have no doubt that the criticisms are valid. But I still contend that most of them could be said about any American business.
Long hours, incompetent mid-level managers, erratic executives, etc etc.
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
Every poll easily takes me 30 minutes to set up (including planning, writing and so on). Do you think I would add stuff just for my amusement?
Don’t martyr yourself for us. If it troubles you don’t do it.
Obviously it would be the easiest and fastest for everyone if I made the decisions by myself but so far people have wanted to do them by themselves.
It would be easiest and fastest for everyone if ANYONE was allowed to make decisions by fiat. Benevolent dictatorship is the most efficient form of government, but has a lot of potential pitfalls around the interpretation of benevolence.
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
After all these discussions and people’s opinions going from left to right, would it be too much to ask that you guys could consider that perhaps things you find pointless are important for someone else? Sure, there have been pointless votes but comments like “most polls were pointless” just shows how out of touch you are.
I think it’s just as fair to turn the question around and ask what you (or anyone else) thought was important?
By my count, the molten facility out of bounds and the chain Immob are the only two things that have genuinely needed community clarification and the second of those was questionable at that since most people seem to have not had a problem with it. FWIW, if those two topics had been the only thing we voted on since this started we wouldn’t be having this discussion in the first place since people would have been satisfied.
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
Not trying to defend Anet since when the reviews are consistently saying the same thing smoke = fire.
However, pretty much every company operates the same way. “OMG they asked us to ship a product by the deadline HEAVEN HELP US!” “OMG they made us work extra hours during CRUNCH TIME.” “OMG UPPER MANAGEMENT CARES ABOUT MONEY?! WHY!?!?!?”
These are kittened criticisms since they apply to virtually every company in existence ever. Companies that don’t meet shipping deadlines and don’t care about money are out of business.
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
You should have the courage to give names, even if everyone know who you’re talking about, it’s a completly childish attitude you have here.
Btw, the simple fact than people vote for different things, show that there is a divergence of opinions in the community. Rules aren’t that clear (there would be NO discussions if that was the case), and i can understand that weekly voting is annoying, so a final meeting would be a good compromise to fix it once and for all. But no voting AND no meeting, even when some divergences arises ? Seriously ?
In the last 4 months there have been lot’s of votes, but no actual divergence, which is why the voting is a problem. Very few of the votes have been contentious, very few of the issues have been contentious. That’s the issue. We have voted on votes to voting on clarifications no one needed with eventualities no one wanted. That has bred a lot of discontent. A meeting isn’t necessary to resolve that all that’s needed is there to be no votes until there are real issues.
and no one said no future meeting or voting when there are actual contentious issues. Right now the voting is pointless and a meeting would be equally pointless. If and when there is a need for it, we can have votes and/or meetings.
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
I like axe mastery. Having the 20% reduced CD is pretty much awesome. But thats just me. Personally I like the CD reduction over the 20% increase in burst damage.
But to each their own I suppose. Why? Axe’s main ability is F1 anyway.
Fixed for you
Eviscerate’s CD isnt affected by Axe Mastery though…
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
So again, why are we having a meeting? We don’t need a meeting to stop the weekly voting madness. We don’t need a meeting to reword the existing rules that we have now. I just don’t get it.
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
You can use your own ruleset on tournaments.
I already am.
This has nothing to do with tournaments, my concern is people (myself included) have their time wasted by trivial nonsense.

I hesitate to ask knowing what the answer will likely be, but which axe skill is so useful and good that the cool down of it is a big deal and in which game mode?
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
The ruleset is working as implemented right now, new records are being posted, reviewed and approved every day. We don’t currently have a pressing need to tweak it, nor do we have any need to totally revamp it. Voting each week on pointless topics is as big a waste of time as a community meeting to talk about this proposed revamp. Can we just stop both of these things until there is actual reasons for them to be done?
Stop the ruleslawyering maddness. Stop talking about rules. Go run records. Roleplaying as a bureaucrat isn’t as fun as all of you seem to act like it is.
www.twitch.tv/nike_dnt
Please give 1 example where it’s actually faster and more efficient to stack a boss in a corner. The stacking in a corner meta was fixed when we stopped taking 3 warriors and FGS was nerfed.
Golems in SE P1 and CoE all paths. Subject Alpha otherwise he moves around (backs up until pinned against something). Also easier to dodge forward into the wall to prevent him from moving.
Litearlly no group worth their salt stacks in the corner for the SE1 golems.
And same goes for Alpha.
Alpha fun fact – Did you know he’s actually more dangerous to stack in the corner for alpha? His stone tooth skill is a targetted cone, when you all cuddle in front of him you all can tank the damage.
And if you can dodge through alpha to keep him more or less locked into the spot where he spawns.
Both just really, really poor examples of where it’s better, becasue it isn’t.
It’s more efficient to cleave/burst them all at once that one by one. It’s been awhile since I’ve run dungeons but I vaguely remember at least one of the golems being ranged. You corner stack to ball them up.
I’ve been in groups which have someone who dodges backwards and occasionally messes things up with an ill-timed crystal prison thing or he moves after them. I’ve also fought Subject Alpha with everyone stacked on him in melee but he keeps moving around. The cone earth attack if his really isn’t an issue.
Also keep in mind that I’m not saying it’s the best thing to do blindly for every single encounter in the dungeons.
You can mesmer pull or have a guard pull them all together and burst them on the spot so easily there is no real excuse for the corner stack what so ever.
And Alpha, you can burst him almost to 0 so easily him running around like a chicken should almost never happen at all.
When you mention these stack spots are you talking about pugging or running with people who, to be blunt, aren’t bad? Because I guess I can see these being a bit useful for really badly optimised groups with pitiful dps or for low skill players.
But yeah in general real no excuse what so ever. Like pretty much every stack spot is a remnent of a time long ago, and the sad thing is I willing to bet 99% of pug players or guilds who use the pug stack spots have literally no idea why they do it.
I know that they can. And if your group doesn’t have either of the two or they don’t know how? I know Mesmer it’s much easier to mess up the pull to group them.
In high DPS groups you can burst down Alpha in a matter of seconds but those are very rare to find in pugs. I’m referring to things in pug groups as they’re very different than high coordinated speed clear groups. i’ve found the few spots to be very effective rather than relying on someone to pull them together and have them mess it up.
I probably should have been more specific in my posts.
Oh, so the game should be balanced around what strats ignorant pugs who barely know how to play and don’t have a clue what they are doing use.
Makes sense.
