When you apply equal buffs to all professions it’s difficult to determine because I don’t think a perfect alacrity fueled engie rotation is humanly possible, unless a korean SC2 pro decided to play gw2 pve instead

Warrior axe autoattack is extremely backloaded. You’re looking at the first autoattack. Triple chop has a 2.9 power coefficient. Evicerate has 3 at max adrenaline. Guy, please.
Revenant sword auto is also extremely backloaded, being fair. Not saying I agree with this thesis, since it should be auto attack chain total coefficients divided by time to complete as the only relevant comparison.

Flaws in your process….
1. Scorched earth is only an improvement over COmbustive shot for large hit box bosses.
2. You haven’t recorded a video of a stable DPS rotation of your build in action for evaluation. If you posted a stable 1 minute dps rotation video I would be more than happy to tell you the exact DPS of your build with typical PvE buffs and optimal gearing.
3. I’m not closed minded about condi warrior. I’ve been playing condi warrior for months or years. Also, when better practices prove themselves to be better practices, I ofcourse incorporate them. changing one’s mind when they get new data is what you should always do. The problem is you haven’t taken a single step towards validating your ideas besides posting a combat log screen shot and a suboptimal build calc from gw2skills.

Re: Frailty sigil. It’s pretty bad for raids due to easily hitting the cap AND it’s bad for dungeons on rev. Since the Rev generates so much vuln, Peril sigil will give you a greater net vuln on your target than Frailty.
tldr; frailty is great in dungeons on classes who don’t make much vuln, peril is better on classes that do. The break point for this is around 10-12.

Assuming other people are buffing you and you can go full selfish with runes of the scholar and max dps food, Strength, Arms, Berserker DPS is pretty high up the food chain. unfortunately, the concept of bringing a warrior for selfish DPS isn’t the best idea ever.

I’m curious as to how these numbers are figured. Is the dps rotation done assuming max might/vuln. How much does it factor pesonal dps to team dps buff? Does it change depending on team comp?
For warrior it’s easy. Record a rotation, calculate how many coefficients are done in that time frame. Plug the number into the damage formula with whatever buffs you want to assume for might/vuln etc and get a result. Classes with condi damage require a lot more work, but we have tools for that too.
For what its worth, when DnT says a dps number the buffs we assume are: 25 Might, 25 vuln, banners, fury, empowered allies and assassins presence since those are the buffs you would get in a meta group ideally.

It’s something to consider, for sure. But remember that Rending Strikes is worth something around 2 stacks of vuln over time. The builds are far enough apart in DPS that even giving the Arms build another 2% modifier wouldn’t matter.
FWIW, the problem with counting vuln creation as personal DPS is it would make power engie or deathshroud necro the highest two DPS builds in the game, since they would have an additional 15-20% DPS modifier. It makes sense to note how much vuln a build creates for the purposes of team building, but shouldn’t play much of a part in personal DPS.

Vipers/Sinister warrior is decent dps (better than old str/arms/tac, worse than str/tac/bers) but suffers from a lack of utility due to no EA no PS. Also, its very squishy since you don’t have WWA to give that built in evade.

I think in open world pve bezerker is fine but the numbers still come out with arms on top. That being said it’s not a huge different with the math I got and in fights where have some disconnect it might pull even with riffle

I agree that a basic damage dealt, damage received, outgoing healing etc would be very useful.
If the worry is that people will be excluded because they aren’t keeping up… I wouldn’t worry. In general, no matter what game, its obvious in a raid who is and isn’t doing their job. If the job is, as we saw in open beta vale guardian fight, for 4 people to get to the aoe and soak it and one person fails to get there 33% of the time its painfully obvious who sucks. DPS summaries will just help groups refine their play.

We aren’t going to release any videos, guides, etc for raids until multiple guilds have cleared the wing. Our goal is to preserve competition for all the guilds interested in progression and not spoil the fun of learning the fights by doing anything to taint that. We will do our best to ensure that everyone has the best experience possible in the raid, which is the whole point of having guilds invited to test these things.

- Smash Brawler really needs a total rework, almost useless because you can only use on trash mobs and if only they die really fast ( so you dont need it anyway as they are droping fast ), maybe some sinergy with Axe and GS for this GM ??

In all the complaints I’ve read as of this announcement, I haven’t seen dungeon enthusiasts calling for raids, fractals, wvw, or spvp be removed or to have their rewards lessened. Yet it’s open season now to dump on the dungeon community and label them ’cryhards?
Just FYI, I am in the “dungeon community” too. I’m not dumping on the dungeon community. I’m dumping, specifically, on the regular cast of characters that come to this forum and cry about every change in the game and wailing about how much anet hates them and ignores them and so on. The sad display has repeated itself so many times that you’ll forgive me for being unmoved by their crocodile tears.
Case in point, we don’t know how fractal rewards will work. We don’t know how raid rewards will work. We don’t even know how dungeon rewards will work. And yet the tearforce is out in strength wailing and moaning about their sad circumstances without having the faintest clue how it will actually affect them. There is simply no pleasing these misanthropes, they manage to find the dark cloud inside every silver lining without even going outside to look at the weather.
So no, I don’t have any patience for the bellyaching. I’ve suggested time and again if you’re so unhappy with the game uninstall it and stop posting on the forums but I think that making QQ posts on these forums is the sum total of social interaction for many of the individuals in question and they won’t part from it.

Time for a lesson.
Enrages timers are thought of by dummies a “dps checks.” Well that’s true, to an extent. But everything is a give an take. If you can’t pass the “dps check” initially, you have to pull resources from support to bring additional DPS.
But that change could/should result in your team being under greater pressure to play perfectly mechanically and may put too much strain on the capabilities of your remaining support classes. Since that can easily cascade into your support failing and causing a wipe, the enrage timer essentially becomes a support-gate.
The entire dynamic of raiding is based around the push-pull of DPS vs Support. Bring enough dps to beat the enrage timer but also bring enough support to actually get to use that DPS. When the enrage timer is tuned properly, it’s a beautiful challenge and your margin of victory or defeat should be a razor’s edge.

Discipline: Required
Power build? Go strength, no room for berserker there. Condi build? berserker is pretty good, but Berserker and Arms together would be genuinely great; but you can’t have both. Only having one or other other leads to a build that isn’t quite on the level of other professions’ condition damage builds.

PvE Dungeon/Fractal/Raid overview…
Torch Skills: Fine, I suppose. the PvE condi build will have pretty decent DPS, but suffers from less utility and less dps than the Power build. Some people just enjoy condi for the sake of condi and this is at least a big upgrade over what we have now.
Traits: the condi traits are fine for the same reason as detailed above for torch skills. One issue with the condi build is that Smash Brawler is so good now that it feels like a “must take” trait. This means you really can’t take the “rage skills inflict burning” trait ina condi build because Smash Brawler is vastly better. the rest of the traits are OK for their intended purpose.
One big flaw for me is that the GM traits feel weak. None of them feel as powerful or build defining as we have come to expect from GM traits, especially in PvE. King of Fires is OK, but its not even nearly as good as engineer’s Incendiary Powder. The other two traits for a PvE power build are either unusable (Taunt) or weak (stability).
Additionally, the most powerful trait in the entire spec, Smash Brawler is at adept. I’m not sure how to move these things around, without ruining the condi spec but Smash brawler is to Berserker what Fast Hands is to Discpline. It should either be baseline or a minor trait, because there is no other option nearly as close.
Rage skills: not so great for PvE, but I don’t think it is intended or needed for them to compare to banners or signets for warrior.
Primal Bursts: buff to arc divider is great and exactly what was needed.

The raid content we got to play during this beta makes me believe it was designed in 1 afternoon.
Bosses barely have any mechanics, just constantly ticking damage to force you to run tank gear or take a healer, and stupid immunity against a certain type of damage.
It all felt very cheap to me, and not enjoyable at all.I was really hyped for the so called “challenging group content”, this is not challenging, this is just forcing people to run certain types of gear to be able to faceroll.
On top of this the design of the bosses we faced today looked really lazy, and not at all like epic raid bosses
If they wanted “challenging group content” to be easier than the current dungeons, I guess they succeeded, but being able to duo said “challenging group content” on the first day of release kinda shows its not that challenging at all
I guess this is only a beta, and doesn’t show the full potential of the raids, but it kinda makes me wonder why they would use this dull set of mobs/bosses for a first impression.

Heaven forbids you use a cash shop booster to maximize your damage. It’s not like you can easily obtain it by converting the plethora of useless boosters with enchantment powder – and that’s some 10 silvers there. But, gosh, what are we gonna do without our Experience booster in our upcoming Mastery grind? Besides, I strongly think that it’s lame to post your own solo videos when you use gemstore boosters (tear-watering expensive food and infusions are fine, tho!). In that light, we also need to train our newbies a good habit of not using the boosters at all for their upright future.

Rygg while you’re right about vuln and blind being important, you’re doing yourself a disservice to claim that “stacking might is irrelevant if you do not keep an eye on also stacking vuln.”
Those two are different totally different things that just increase output. Both of them are relevant, and neither of them require one another to make proper use of.

Vulnerability is far more important than might. I don’t know the exact math bu I’d bet that 10-15 vuln is equal to 25 stacks of might on the whole party.
25 Might and 25 vuln are roughly equal. 300 power is roughly 10% damage. 300 Power = 10 Might. 10 vuln = 10% damage.
Vuln is only worth putting more thought into because its harder to achieve than Might. If BOTH your Might and your Vuln suck, fixing either is an equal priority to the other.
