Okay Questions:
1) Does life steal from Necro traits scale with Healing Power?
2) Does life steal from weapon skill and signets scale with Healing Power?
3) If life steal scales with Healing Power, will it steal more life or will it just heal for more?
I’ve been told many different things by many different people and I need to know if Healing Power will heal for more or steal more hp from enemy. If so then I am going to make a bomb necro life steal build.
The chaos weapons in gw1 looked way better. The chaos weapons in gw2 are just the generic weapons with a shiny skin.
The thing with all the defensive stats is that they scale well, but only when you increase two of them. Let me give an example.
Lets say you’re a necromancer. You have 1846 armor, and 18472 health. You have 1000 points to spend. If you put all 1000 into vitality, you’ll end up with 28472 health, which is a 54.1% increase in how much damage you can take. Put that into toughness, and you gt 2846 armor which is a 54.2% increase. But, if you 500 into both vitality and toughness, you’d get 2346 armor and 23472 health. That is 27% reduction from toughness, but that also applies to all of the extra health, so you would, to scale, have 29830 HP (a 61.4% increase overall).
It’s a concept called effective health. Because the two stats multiply each other, the best way to invest stats is so that health is roughly 10x higher than armor, then increase them at the same rate. This is where toughness kind of gets the shaft. For you see, the necro is already at the golden ratio of 1:10. Every other class… not so much. They all need a certain amount of vitality to reach the golden ratio.
Warrior: 290 Vit
Guardian: 1046 Vit
Ranger: 472 Vit
Engineer: 472 Vit
Thief: 899 Vit
Elementalist: 756 Vit
Mesmer: 328 VitOverall, players will end up getting more from Vitality from sheer statistical efficiency alone.

It’s just amazing how I could have over 2k toughness being over 3k armor and still take as much critical damage as if I had low toughness.
Seriously, I don’t see how anyone would consider this fun when npc’s can down you with retaliation or just take all your damage and be able to down you so easily. I don’t like being forced to wear ptv or the horrid nomad armor and/or do the living story in parties. If we are meant to do this with parties then maybe it should be labeled kitten.
Either way looks like its frustration I’m not going to be doing. So yet GW2 stays boring as usual.

As you have admitted, certain servers and you yourself have encouraged guilds to transfer by offering to pay for transfers or even paying them extra gold once they had moved. This isn’t new, another example of this would be the sudden arrival of ZD’s onto a T1 NA server for season 1 and then their sudden departure as soon as season had finished…. blah blah blah
The problem is that the players will not fix them for themselves. All those on t1 servers are there for the easy wins. Simple as that. They will not leave for servers that are not blobbing over everything and getting crap loads of karma and loot.
After talking to other rangers it seems this is an issue with Norn. I’ve experienced it on my Sylvari ranger but not as oftern. It only fails about 2x out of 10 on my sylvari.
This is an issue due to the @#$% megaservers. With no so many people in one place you have to do a percentage of damage in order to get loot and when you get 100 people you have to be in a group in order to get loot. I don’t like being in groups but am forced to if I want credit or loot.
Megaservers are the worst thing to happen to GW2.

Not going to read 20+ pages of thread…been drinking…a little frustrated with my cable provider – Suddenlink – and now with WvW… PLEASE MERGE THE SERVERS!!!! Anet… you gotta see that the servers are already low population on the majority… low pop servers don’t stand a chance against the T1 servers…. WHY HAVE TIERS TO BEGIN WITH!!!? if you are having population issues merge the servers…. Mega servers is nice and all but its useless when it comes down to WvW…. I am on Magumma…and we are getting wrecked! AND I MEAN WRECKED!!! each week…..it is impossible for us to get first cause nobody does WvW on our server….and being in T1 does not help our cause…in the end the rewards for doing WvW SUCK….for the average player….for those that do play WvW…there is no one on to actually do WvW….merge the low pop servers!!!!! make new servers if populations become too high amongst all the servers!!! give incentive for players that move from a HIGH Pop to a medium and low pop! give more incentives period!!! lol i second everything he said even tho im on fa. and mag isnt t1 mag is t2 but should be t3 or t4. mag got f’d worse than fa this season. I actually feel bad for mag, mag has no chance unless fa and sos and t1 suddenly lose every player.
I think it’s fair to say that the only people happy with this season so far are the t1 servers. After all they get to blob everyone over and get the bags.
Wouldn’t it be easier to just tally the population of only WvW population for a week and then average it out instead of the entire server population where on some servers it’s mostly pve but being counted higher for wvw. Seriously the current match up is just akittento t2. Having to be matched up with t1 servers ever match? How does anet not know that the numbers of t1 are going to blow out t2 easily? t1 will always win and t2 will always lose. Really nice match up anet. Really nice. Since you seem to cater to the t1 servers and everybody else can just go get bent.
Needless to say I’ve given up on WvW completely when it was the only thing I did in GW2. So many players from my server had just quit GW2 completely cuz WvW was the only enjoyment they had in GW2. I rarely even show up in WvW at all anymore somehow I find the super boring grinding in PvE much more enjoyable then banging my head against the wall in WvW where its no longer fun due to being constantly blobbed over. So I now I go the route of almost everyone else on my server and get my 5 acheevos done for the week and then be gone.

I’ve never lost bloodlust going into the water but I also have bloodlust on my uw weapons as well. If you do not have bloodlust sigils on your uw weapons then you will lose the bloodlust. If you have major bloodlust on your uw weapons but superior on your land weapons you will lose bloodlust. A weapon swap is a weapon swap no matter if you swapped or it was forced. You can’t use land weapons uw therefore it’s your choice to enter the water. You’re not forced to go into the water.

my ranger keeps getting heavy armor drops and some light armor. rarely gets medium armor drops. i think ive only gotten medium armor from pers story rewards and some champ bags in eotm.
Going to bump this until anet responds. At least with saying they’ve seen it. This has been a very annoying bug and it’s been going on for too long and hasn’t been fixed through so many bug patches.
I’ve been irritated with the targeting myself. I’d have a foe right in front of me but my character wants to target a foe to the side or way off in the distance that is out of range.
When is this event not bugged?
So this has been going on for quite a long time. When trying to use the ranger sword #3 Serpent’s Strike it will do the animation but not hit the poison. It seems like it goes too far away to actually hit. After to multiple tests it fails 7 times out of 10 tries. Other players have expressed that this is not an issue with them while others say it is so either some aren’t noticing it or its only affecting certain players. I made a video of what it is doing and it is on YouTube, I will link the video.
By the way you may want to turn the volume down. YouTube felt the need to overwrite the music that was on there with different music and it is too loud.

Also, at times no matter what the terrain is character will shoot past the intended target and not do damage. At other times it will get to be face to face with the target but do no damage.
Yeah I know it’s not game breaking but this was on a beginner’s map. So the healing with nourishment is going to be very low. Altho in WvW and it heals an enemy player the healing would be substantial. I’ve since stopped using the Omnomberry Ghosts anyway after watching just how often it procs when I’ve got over 75% crit chance its about 3 times per 20 hits cuz of internal cool down or it’s just bugged but it’s not worth it unless a player has very high crit chance and very high healing power.
so is anet going to do anything about this or just ignore it?
Yeah targeting definitely needs an overhaul. Especially when I’m trying to target the guy right in front of me and my character targets the guy behind him that’s out of range. It’s caused multiple deaths in WvW and very annoying. I have to use precious seconds to manually click on my targets.
Update. There seems to be another bug associated with this. My Omnomberry Ghost buff has ended almost 10 minutes ago but I am still stealing health on crit hits. So the buff is not going away it seems or it is lingering.

So I am using Omnomberry Ghost nourishment buff and while using the new combat log system I noticed that it said on two attacks that I healed the creature for 5 using my nourishment.
Is that supposed to read that I healed for 5?
or is the creature being healed for 5?
I’m hoping it’s just a typo.

LMAO I do understand your frustration with them focusing on PvP a lot or at least it seems that way since it’s mostly all they talk about on their Twitter and Twitch streams but there have been loads of new PvE stuff and not much new PvP stuff implemented. I could care less about PvP and PvE in GW2 I mainly focus on WvW and I have to say that almost everybody that does WvW does PvP also cuz well PvE is boring. So to say PvP isn’t strong in GW2 is not a viable observation.

My mesmer who has barely any toughness only takes damage in the 1k range. Seems the less toughness the lower the crit damage.
What. On. Earth? Your glassy ranger never took more than 2k damage from a full glass thief? Your Mes only takes 1K damage? LOL stop making random stuff up, its really transparent to anybody who has played the game for more than 10 seconds.

Those numbers were meant per attack or hit not overall. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that those aren’t overall numbers.
And yes toughness does impact the amount of crit damage done to you.
So the NPC merchant Cinea in Divinity’s Reach is wearing armor I haven’t seen in game or at least don’t recognize it. What armor is she wearing? If you don’t know how I am talking about, here is a link to her wiki page Cinea Wiki

First of all those warriors you’re talking about are probably using clerics armor with healing sig. and rangers thieves mesmers etc that are glassy have very low hp so its not going to take much anyway to take them out. Seriously, having almost 2,300 toughness making armor somewhere around 4k I can’t remember the numbers exactly but still being crit for over 3k. That’s ridiculous. No sense in having toughness if it does nothing for you at all. Might as well go glassy and be critted for the same amount.

So I like to solo champions. It’s really the only fun I have left in gw2. Since the megaservers became active I can no longer solo champs cuz there’s always somebody that interferes even after I ask them not to.
And when I ask players not to interfere they do it anyway just to troll.
I never had this issue before the megaservers.
I’m not trying to hog open world events or saying nobody else can fight the champ, but it’s only one spawn of the champ. It will spawn again.
For Example: I’ve been trying to solo the Mark II YF-Gold golem that spawns in Malchor’s Leap since the megaservers. I have yet to be able to cuz somebody interferes. I’ve spent hours camping there waiting for the event and the champ to spawn and get to fighting it and then somebody interferes. Every time. Some actually stop attacking and just watch when I ask them not to interfere which is awesome. But those that are respectful like that are very rare.
What I am saying is can Anet create a place that has champs in it for players to solo where they won’t be interfered with?
Kind of like the Queen’s Gauntlet but with champs from the open world and without timers. As if the player was soloing in open world.
I know this thread will be deleted but hopefully an Anet dev will become aware of it.
Sorry, Nocturnal, but I have to agree with cNcHell……..this isn’t meant to be a solo game, even though a lot of people like to try to do it that way.
Soloing champs doesn’t make it a solo game. The only fun I have in the game anymore is now gone. And I will probably be moving on cuz this game has just gotten boring and super repetitive.
Just because you made an assumption doesnt mean it’s actually going to happen. A lot of sigils that USED to be on crit (water sigils for example) were changed to on hit. Not all of them are even a 100% chance either.
I didn’t make an assumption. Anet said it themselves in the stream so thanx for making the assumption that I made the assumption.
They said “all” items that were proc on crit hit will be 100%proc on crit hit and instead they changed it to a %proc on hit and then maybe a few of them are now 100 on hit.
They shouldn’t have said to start buying these items in the stream and give false hope.
Don’t expect a response from the ANet devs. They ignore most threads… even the ones related to bigger problems. As cynical as this may sound, if the problem is not related to Gems, the chances that they will reply to you are extremely slim.

@Lagg I know about that one I do that one all the time and it’s always been there. Altho they changed the champ spider that was by the vista to an elite. How lame.
I like to solo champs. I do it to test builds and just for something to do as being level 80 and have done just about everything there is to do without mindlessly grinding to the point of total boredom that I fall asleep at the keyboard.
Anyway, with the megaservers I can no longer do this. I try to solo a champ and some yahoo comes up and starts attacking it even when I ask them to stop. I ask in map chat for no interference and of coarse some players respect it and then you get the trolls that come just to interfere. This is really pi**ing me off. I have only been able to do 3 champs solo and it’s only cuz 90% of the gw2 population don’t know where they are. But if I try to do one like say the Champion Mark II YF-Gold in Malchor’s Leap somebody always interferes.
And for those of you that are going to troll this thread by saying stuff about loot or whatever: 1. I don’t care and 2. most these champs spawn within a few minutes of dieing. Yet I have not been able to solo any cuz of interference. If somebody interferes I disengage and watch them die and then laugh about it. I’m not going to rez them or help them at all.
These megaservers are causing all kings of lag and guilds have been split up during guild missions and constant dc’s etc.

So when we were told in the Twitch vid that items in game that have a percent to activate on critical hit was going to be changed to 100% on critical hit but yet I do not see this anywhere. They made it sound like everything was going to be changed to 100% and even hinted to start buying up things before the patch. So wtf? were we lied to? Is it still coming in a different patch? Whats going on?
can you guys fix this or what? sometimes you’re unable to switch weapons in combat and your forced to manually click weapon swap on the character sheet. how is this not fixed yet?
I’ve been having same issue but not having to go into the char sheet. I would press the key for weapon swap and nothing would happen sometimes or its really slow to do it. It’s gotten me killed afew times in wvw. Does the same thing for swapping kits on the engi. Sometimes i have to click the swap for it to work. So maybe an issue with the key binding. I haven’t checked but change the key bind and see if that fixes it. If it does then tell anet the keybinding for key ` is broke.
I noticed you changed the Champ Ram in Dredgehaunt and the Champ Risen Sea Turtles to vets. (the sea turtles in the jumping puzzle in Sparkfly Fen. Can’t remember the name of it.) Seriously? Those were my favorite champs to solo to test builds and just for something to do. C’mon anet bring them back. It’s already hard enuf to find champs to solo. If you want to take out champs then introduce new ones at least.
