That which is dead may eternally lie, but with great aeons even death may die.
Anet doesn’t want us doing Champ trains cuz they want us to spend real world money to buy gems to exchange for gold. They have to make their money somehow. And the champ train in Queensdale sucks at drops compared to Frostgorge so it’s not a big deal there. It’s an inconvenience to those that can’t use real world money for gold but whatever.
My biggest issue is taking out the champs I used to solo to test builds or just for something to do and changing them to vets. In areas where there is no possible train. How lame.
Here is a vid of my guild DKP fighting TC in Stonemist. It was 14 of us and 40+ of TC. I was on my Altruistic Engineer. A build I created and has become increasingly popular.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=raBoRCnynvk&feature=share&list=PLLJ6gx5z7mibPmEn-Zx0kg7tr5NWchNvr&index=38
Here is the vid I made after creating the build as a test run of the build. It shows me just doing some pve content in Orr. Then during the champ farm and then some WvW stuff.
http://youtu.be/LcJpZ-QdE_Y
The test build vid has had almost 450 views since I uploaded it.
But being able to keep my team and guild alive during that fight shows the power of this build. Now the healing wasn’t all me as everyone had their own heals and boons and such but to see all the green numbers going up everywhere was super satisfying.
I created an altruistic engi build so i can add as much support as possible to my party in WvW. This also works solo but takes a lot longer cuz the damage isn’t as high.
This is a test build and a work in progress so any and all input on how I can improve this build will be appreciated.
Here is the build: http://intothemists.com/guides/2771-wvw_test_build_nocturnal_lunacys_altruistic_engineer
And here is the build in action: http://youtu.be/LcJpZ-QdE_Y
On another note, I’ve noticed that from the time it takes to drop the healing turret and the time it actually lays down a blastable field changes constantly. Sometimes I can do it immediately and at other times I have to wait 2 seconds which you may see in the video and at other times it fails completely. I thought this was lag at first but even when I am solo in PvE with no lag its the same thing.
There are also times when the turret blasts itself when I dbl click on the turret icon and not use the F1 key which is weird to me. Whats going on here? Is my keyboard messing up or the game mechanic not functioning properly?
they expect you to email them etc, as in, do their job for them.
Not really. If we could actually report somebody for hacking in game by the pull down menu, they would be flooded with reports from players that are QQing or anything that may be suspicious even when it’s not. Anet would have to weed thru all those reports for legit concerns which could take weeks and months.
By having to email them it requires work and that would stop the QQing people and you would need actual proof. In this case I recorded it happening.
So I need a link to where I can report a hacker. I recorded a player hacking and you can’t just report in game that person is hacking and I can’t find any link on any arenanet or gw2 site.
WvW is PvE in the MMO sense. You’re looking at what the actual letters stand for. PVP = Player vs. Player, PVE = Player vs Environment etc. But in the broad scope of MMO’s WvW would be PvE cuz it’s not PvP in the PvP sense of MMO’s. If you don’t understand that then sorry. If you don’t like the term then call it WvW which is what it is. Not PvE in the classic sense and not PvP in the PvP sense. It’s separate from those two terms so just call it WvW.
According to the definition of a control effect: “Control effects, also known as disables, are a set of effects that temporarily prevent actions or movement…”
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Control_effect
The definition of Immobilize: “Immobilized is a condition that prevents movement…”
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Immobilized
So Immobilized is a Control Effect by definition and ArenaNet should make it as such. Either make it a Control Effect or a Condition or both and can be removed by a condition clear or a boon like stability.

No anet no longer has asian based servers the best you’ll be able to do is a european server.
Anyway I kept having disconnects out of nowhere when I had 2 separate keyboards active. i.e. I had the english keyboard and the chinese (for Taiwan) active and for some reason it would cause the game client to crash. At least that’s what anet told me and since only having one keyboard active i have not had the crashing issue. If you are running windows and have more than one keyboard active then i’d disable one.
If that’s not the issue then try putting all your gfx settings to lowest, GW2 is gfx intense and can overload your pc. There are so many things that could be of issue.
If you are stalling out by your character just running but no npc interaction or whatever you may be low on memory. Getting more RAM would solve that. Your gfx card may not be able to handle the gw2 gfx or your resolution could be either too high or set to a resolution your gfx card can’t handle. I could list about 30 things off the top of my head that could cause game client failure but those are the most common. If all that isnt the issue then try reinstalling the client and/or getting more bandwidth.

So is any dev going to respond to this or just ignore it?
I belive Zoom hack has been said to be 1 legit feature that u can obtain by just playing with some settings; I presume u are talking about godlike as some1 that cannot be finished by stomping, this is just a desync problem, u’ll have to kill him/her buy just attacking him.
Zoom hacking as in the player’s character showing up in a certain spot but not actually being there so that even tho you are directly in front of them it constantly says “Out of Range” or “Miss” or whatever but yet they can hit you all they want. I call it zoom hacking wouldn’t know the proper name if any. And zoom hacking is not a legit feature, its an exploit. And godlike is when you come across a character that you do enormous amounts of damage to but their hp bars never lose and hp. Some say this is lag but it’s not lag when you see them jump off a cliff or they are plagued with stacks of conditions or just being hammered down but yet their health never moves. And it’s actually called permanent invulnerability which the devs can put their characters into by using a dev code.
And ive never had an issue with the stomping errors, rezzing i have not stomping so I wouldnt know about that.
Here are some vids of Night Vision [NV] putting the smack down in WvW this week.

Seriously DB and SBI, try to lose with dignity. Having most your players hacking to just get and edge is just shameful. BTW when anet slams the permaban hammer and your WvW population is decimated then maybe you will all think twice next time before you think nobody is paying attention.
I have seen an influx of hacking in the last month or so of hacks being used in WvW.
When will Anet actually do something about this?
From Zoom Hacking to Godlike to the thieves now doing a teleport hack to get into keeps. It’s getting out of control and taking all the fun out of WvW.
Honestly if you don’t have the confidence to compete in WvW then just don’t do WvW. It makes no sense to just waste your money buying the game and whatever other money you’ve spent just to get an edge in WvW cuz anet will just permaban you.

So I have a character that will disconnect everyone from any chat channel I post a link in. So now I can no longer post links with this character.
And I suspect that the reason why it does this with only certain characters has to do with any special characters used in the name of the player’s character.
I think I’ve got it pinpointed down to the special character"ß".
It’s cuz it uses the alt + 225 to produce and because the Windows naming and max character limit of any line is 225 it is causing it to crash cuz it can’t read anything over the 225 limit and having a character at the 225 spot makes the client read as having 225 characters in the line. It’s far fetched but it is very sensible as to the problem. Something for the anet devs to explore.
All the life-steal food also have an internal 1s cool down which is also noted on the wiki.
That means the life-steal will happen a lot less frequently than you might expect from a 66% chance. If there was no cool down like back in the beginning you would get the life-steal at around twice every 3 hits. With the cool down it would take more work to determine and depends things like which weapon you are using.
The attack stat is pretty much meaningless. The damage formula uses Power * Weapon Power but Attack is Power + Weapon Power. The actual damage will also depend on the coefficient on each skill(you can look those up on the wiki too).
As for the visuals, see attachment. Left is a normal hit and the right is a critical. I am surprised the wiki didn’t include a similar picture.
I’m not really sure if I’m even getting critical hits if it shows that kind of icon. I think I’ve gotten the bigger kind of bold numbers but I’ve never seen red splash behind the numbers. And if I’m not getting critical hits even being over 100% critical chance then something is very wrong.
And if I am not getting an actual 66% chance at life steal cuz of the 1 second cool down then anet seriously needs to change the chance percentage listed on those. But then every hit takes around a second to activate from last hit to skill activation to hit again. Most of the time more. So the 1 second cool down really shouldn’t matter at all. When using rapid fire it shoots 10 shots in roughly 3 seconds or so so i should at least get 1 life-steal from that and most of the time i don’t. Unless what is going on is that when no life-steal is successful then the 1 second cool down is activated which would make this more like a 33% chance at life-steal even tho I don’t even see those numbers either.
In any case there is no way to know I am getting life-steal if the “Life-steal” icon doesn’t show up. So I wonder if the system is just flawed as to it won’t show the icon every time a life-steal occurs.
^Pretty much this.
Also, in the “Combat” chat tab, you can see the damage differences between crit and non crit strikes.
The damage in the chat log shows only numbers not whether or not they are critical or whatever. And if the critical damage is as low as it is showing then how in the heck are people saying they are getting 10k crit hits. I’ve had a thief do over 15k crit hit on me and it didn’t show those numbers in my combat log. It showed the base damage. Anet just need to revamp the whole thing.
How do you get 113% critical chance ? even with rampager (max prec) you shouldn’t reach that high.
Your thread topic says “critical damage”, you didn’t add chance and damage, did you ?
First if you would’ve read the line below wanting a dev to answer then you’d see that I put that I get over 100% crit chance and this post is about the damage aspect and not the crit chance aspect.
Here is my ranger build. It will explain it all. I frequently get over 113% crit chance. It’s not hard. Keep in mind that when I made this build there still was no assassin’s armor available so all the berz armor should be changed with assassin’s.

(edited by Nocturnal Lunacy.8563)
First off I have a ranger that is constantly over 100% critical chance. Usually landing around 113% chance. Please remember this during the rest of this topic.
I use Omnomberry Ghosts http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Omnomberry_Ghost which are 66% chance at life steal per critical hit. Please remember that too.
If I hit a critical hit (which should be 100% of the time) does that mean that every 6 out of 10 times will steal health?
Or is it 66 out of 100 times? What is the scaling and how does it work?
While in combat I only see the lifesteal notice about 2 times out of 10 hits. So does this mean it’s actually only working 20% of the time?
Another thing: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Critical
“Critical hit damage is displayed in larger text than ordinary damage and highlighted with a red splash.”
That quote from wiki. I have never seen the hit damage larger or any red splash. The only way I ever do know I’m making a critical hit is when it says “lifesteal”.
So what is up with that? Is My critical hit or chance broken? I don’t even see critical hit damage on screen all I see is the basic damage plus the additional damage done by upgrades or whatever. The most damage I’ve seen on screen is around 2k damage which is way less then what it should be since I have over 100% critical hit chance and 66% critical hit damage and attack is almost 3k. I should be way higher numbers. It’s the same no matter what I use for a weapon.
Please I would like a dev to address this.
I would like to know what the fix is for this if any at all. It seems it only happens on one of my characters: Yôg Zöthöth Ñßaï
As far as I know it does not happen with any other characters of mine. I can link anything with other characters without and disconnects.
This character is the only character I have that’s under level 80 but I think what’s going on is that I hadn’t played this character for almost a month and after the whole code fiasco where morons were linking code in chat to make the whole map or server or whatever to disconnect. And I believe Anet sent out a fix for this but I hadn’t played this character til after that fix and I believe that maybe this fix didn’t get applied to this character.
Our server has disconnected completely several times in the last hour. our whole guild goes offline then back on. guild members on other servers at the time are just fine.
?!
Yeah im in the same guild as Roachsrealm and we got disconnected when I tried to link first a weapon and the second time when i tried to link a black dye using the Control + left mouse click. So I don’t know why this is causing the guild to crash. Oh I was trying to link in the guild chat. Haven’t done it in map chat or any other chat.

same happened to me aswell cant log in at all to any characters. Anet really needs to stop adding new things and focus on balancing. instead this is getting rediculous and i better not be dishonored out of pvp because this b.s happened while loading the map aswell. -_-
IT’s not the new content that Anet is adding. It’s the morons that like to play with code. Basically the children that should be in school right now having a good laugh.
Seriously Anet needs to permaban everyone using this. It’s obviously an exploit to be used esp in wvw.
i dont give a …. if they have to ban entire servers for using this. its wrong. it is completely disrupting everyones enjoyment. and it will send a message to all the other morons out there that should be in school right now anyway.

Um AMD is far from weak. I have a quad core AMD PHenom II and it’s fast as …. with everything but when it comes to GW2 there is latency and lag and low fps. So there may be something to the thought of it being the compiler.
But that being said, C++ compiler via VC shouldn’t be affected by the processor. It’s probably more go to do with how the CPU reads the code and processes it and it so happens that VC is the one it’s using so the fault would naturally fall on VC where the actual prob may lie with the code itself. If the code is optimized for intel processors then yes AMD may have some latency issues. But Anet should have informed users of such. And if that is truly the case then the Anet devs need to go back into the code and revise it for all processors or have a separate client for AMD users as they do with Apple users. This may seem like gobblety kitten to everyone but the devs know what I’m talking about.

Just happened to me a second ago while do HotW. On Ft. Aspenwood
So I have a mini Yaotl The Fierce and was curious as to the history of this character like where did it come from, what is the history?
GW2 Wiki had nothing on Yaotl so I did some research and found that Yaotl is a character in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise featured in the TMNT film. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TMNT_%28film%29
And is also a children’s book written by Stephen Murphy, published by Simon & Schuster but is also based on the TMNT franchise story. http://turtlepedia.wikia.com/wiki/The_Legend_of_Yaotl
But Yaotl is also a Nahuatl (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nahuatl) word meaning adversary or enemy or bringer of war. http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/yaotl
So I was wondering what this mini is based off of. Is it for future characters in the gw2 lore or just a mini based on the tmnt franchise or whatever just for the heck of it?
I realized the issue was the AMD Catalyst. I don’t know why this was causing a problem but it was.
Whenever I try to start GW2 it says it’s downloading, and then it just gets stuck. It starts to download and then it when it gets to whatever kb it goes to it stops and says “Downloading 0 kb (0kb/sec)” and shows the icon in right hand corner and the Guild Wars 2 logo and that’s it. I can’t click on the “X” to shut it down, I have to use the Task Manager to close it out.
I downloaded the client to see if I needed to reinstall GW2 in case it became corrupt but the same exact thing happens.
Last time I was on it was fine and now all of a sudden nothing.
Wtf is going on?
Win7 Pro x64
AMD Phenom II x4 Black Edition
I don’t know if I’m missing something, but my ranger does a lot of critical damage and has very high critical chance but I don’t see the critical damage. It seems all I see is the base damage and not the critical damage. Unless having 70+% crit chance with 63% crit damage only nets around 1.5k damage. I don’t know but that’s all i really see. And there’s no way I can be doing so low damage that the 1.5k is the critical damage, that would mean im only doing around 600 or so damage per hit. Being level 80 the 600 is less than the base damage. So am I missing something in the setting on seeing the critical damage?
If not then please make all critical damage show or at least big letters saying CRITICAL.
Normally I would be with you. However, in pvp and wvw, it can be a huge advantage to run around with different armors (light/medium/heavy) than what your class really is.
Think about it, would you suspect that sweet little raggedy clad human of being a warrior dealing massive dmg?Again, I would normally be with you, but for many obvious reasons, I would never back this up. Fighting players need to have some indicators of whom to target. Maybe if it was a PVE only change, then I’d be fine with it.
When I’m in PvP or anywhere for that matter I rarely even take notice if the armor is light/medium/heavy. Heck I don’t even know what all the armors look like nor do I care. I look at my target and see what prof they are and can tell by their skills.
I have a female warrior and unless you saw her using a hammer you’d think she was wearing light armor if not paying attention. Some of the karma armor you get in Orr is very scantly clad to humans so at times it would be difficult to know what armor it is. And since I don ‘t show the Helm, it makes it even harder to detect. Besides, you can’t even see that armor on Asura characters unless you have the resolution on your screen so low that all you see is their armor.
What kind of ‘crimes’ could they do that wouldn’t see them smashed with the banhammer?
Not sure, i’m sure Anet can come up with something. Something that would be made so that it doesn’t actually cause any bans but maybe like the individual could “rob” an npc or something like that.
Like the wandering merchants you see in Queensdale or around, an individual could rob that npc or maybe join the bandits in a raid on a town or something like that.
Title.
I really like some of the medium skins, but I prefer playing a warrior. I’m pretty sure Anet might net more cash in the skin department if they made skins able to apply to all armor. It is a fantasy realm after all.
I am with you on this 100% on this for the armor skins to be made for all armor types. There are some awesome light armor skins that would be perfect for my medium armor wearers.
The armor would still be light, medium or heavy depending on the profession but the look of it will be the only change. I don’t see why we couldn’t use our transmutation stones, whatever to transmute like a light skin armor to a medium skin. It’s just the style not the stats that will change.
fantasy or not, it would kinda ruin what realism there is.
on the other hand, they could make more armour skins that sort of look like the other two types but still remain firmly in one of them.
what they should do, is make skins bought from the gemstore unlocked in the character tab like some reward skins are
I don’t see how it would ruin anything.
The p l a y e r cap is the way it is to alleviate skill lag, and just lag in general. It’s already hard enuf when you’re in an area with a lot of players and you can’t even see what is attacking you cuz well you can’t see them due to the lag. Remember that since the creatures are ai they are going to target and attack even before their character has appeared on the map. If the cap were higher and the servers and the servers’ cpu’s are strained, it will be longer for those creatures to show and more damage without something to target.
(edited by Nocturnal Lunacy.8563)
I was thinking, that maybe if an individual were to do something anet were to consider as a gw2 crime. Whatever Anet would come up with. That could cause an individual to get a bounty on them that other players can act on and would land that individual in jail. And if that individual was in a guild then the guild or maybe friends or anyone for that matter could break that person out of jail which would create a bounty for those individual(s). And if it’s a guild that broke the individual out then it could become a guild bounty where one guild would be able to act on that bounty. But only one guild and only once. And if that guild failed then the bounty would still be active until the guild is brought to justice.
I’m sure there would have to be something in place where the individuals that had the bounty would have to be online during certain times or whatever. Anet can iron all that out. But I’m sure something can be implemented to this effect. I think it would provide more exciting content to gw2. And then it would truly be “Guild Wars”.
Any crit chance over 100% is still 100% crit chance.
If you have 63% Crit damage and 100%+ crit chance, you will deal 213% damage on every hit.
That’s what I figured. I use consumables where I have 66% chance at lifesteal per crit hit. Altho, I only see it say lifesteal every so often. Certainly less than what a 66% chance would be. At 100% Crit chance, that means I should get 66 lifesteal hits out of 100 hits yet it seems I get more like maybe 20 at the most per crit hit.
Does another players armor affect whether or not a crit hit is had?
I’ve been working extensively on my ranger to get high crit chance and high crit damage and still have survivability and not be a glass cannon. Without any consumables or anything my Crit Chance is at 67% and Crit Damage is at 63%. And with consumables and buffs like might etc. My crit chance goes up to 113% and of course crit damage stays at 63%.
My question is this. With the crit chance being at 113% does that mean that every hit is a crit hit? And if not, they why? shouldn’t 100% chance mean a crit hit every single hit?
And with crit chance at 113% exactly how much damage am I doing with 63% crit damage. I think the highest I’ve seen is about 8k damage. But it doesn’t show when a crit hit has happened or when a life-steal has happened. (I use a 66% chance at life-steal per crit hit consumable).
I’ve gotta bump this. I need +1’s on this and responses so anet will consider it.
OKay, um…a crit necro? to tell the truth I almost couldn’t stop laughing. It’s a good build, but seriously, if you want crit with d/d go with an ele or a thief. I’ve been playing necros since the beginning of gw1 and it is by far my fav class. A necro is horrible at crit and straight out attacks. They’re not made for it. Just cuz it has precision and crit crap in the build doesn’t mean it should be used for every class. Necros have and always will concentrate on CONDITIONS and raising the nasty looking minions (which i rarely use) You can get a high hp necro with high tough and good cond damage and straight out raw damage. I will have to post a link to my build(s) at some other time as the links don’t seem to be working correctly when I try to post them.
But I too use a d/d necro with staff, But a d/d necro is more the exp necro and have to know what they are doing. If not exp with necro then stick with staff/scepter/focus or staff/axe/focus or staff/axe/dagger etc but not d/d. altho my build is more for spvp, it would work wonders in tpvp. It’s actually an adaption of my d/d build for wvw. I can take on a cpl attackers at a time and do great. Only issues are guardians with the constant cond removals. But will take down the crappy thieves in seconds whether or not they are hiding.
I can’t think of a better place to put this and I’m sure it will be moved or deleted, but basically everyone should report serious bugs first!
When it comes to clipping or graphics or non-essential game play bugs then use the bug option in-game and then let it go.
This is a baby when it comes to MMO game age. It will still take a while before all bugs are worked out in the game. And there will always be bugs, if everyone is reporting the non-essential bugs then anet gets flooded with these and has to sift thru the trash bugs for the major bugs and that takes a lot more time to fix the bugs. Faster to find major bugs to fix=faster bug fixing=faster to fix the non-essential bugs as clipping.
Just trying to make is easier for the bugs to be fixed.
… The only response i saw from a Dev in regards to this was that “mails are being sent out in waves so the server doesn’t crash”. I would think that it wouldn’t take this long to complete the “waves”. I’d rather get a response sooner than later that we will get them soon.
I don’t know if anyone has responded to this yet and I’m not reading every single comment to check. But basically, they are sending out in waves so no server crashes is exactly the smart thing to do.
I’m not sure if you are aware the amount of players there are on GW2. If they were going to send them all out at once there would be serious lag disconnects and crashes. Have patience and that’s for everyone. Some of theses things take time. If you haven’t received anything within a week then let anet know.
I don’t know if this is a bug or a nerf. But I’ve noticed after the most current patch, I can no longer use a Utility Consumable and a Regular Consumable as one will replace the other. Like when using a potion with a meal. Whats going on?
I was trying to use Bowl of Salsa
-and-
Bowl of Candy Corn Custard
The Salsa is listed as a utility with the wrench icon and the CandyCorn is listed as a food with the apple icon.
Also, when I used the Candy Corn it turned me into a plastic spider as if i was in the costume brawl, but after leaving the form the effects remained and it has only happened that once.
You guys screwed up and slipped in a nerf I believe thats coming in a future patch…Which by the way isn’t cool.
Dagger 4 is normally 1 and 1/4 second Evade…..
If I equip Offhand training (which is suppose to improve the ability) it becomes a 1/2 second evade..
A pretty substantial nerf..
You didn’t put this in the patch notes, so I take it this nerf wasn’t planned to go in yet.
Pretty shady
LMAO “You Guys Screwed Up..” wow they are doing they’re best. It’s funny how many players are unaware of how much work it takes to find bugs, fix them and make sure the fix doesn’t create other bugs. The Anet dev team aren’t gods. They can’t just snap their fingers and everything would be perfect.
All that being said, if this is an expected nerf for rangers then kitten that. I guess my use of the dagger will no longer be worth while. It’s not like rangers need a nerf anyway. If anything, they need a buff esp with the use of the sword, gs and dagger.
I agree with Deahman mainly cuz when I’ve been in fights with thieves on my ranger who is very high crit chance and very high crit damage and very high power along with life steal consumables etc etc. where the thief’s regen was faster than the damage I could inflict with the longbow skill 2 rapid shot. And that’s 10 shots of accumulating damage tied with crit and life steal, and to have the thief’s regen surpass that, it’s just plain ridiculous. I’ve had the accumulating numbers top out well over 9-10k by the 10th shot and still the thief is at half to 3/4 hp. And at that point I say mofo bullkitten and let the thief kill me. Obviously if I couldn’t down the thief with the same skill and damage I can drop warriors and guardians with by the 7th or 8th shot then the regen is way too high.
Edit: And this is without the thief going into stealth or when going into stealth brought immediately out from the rapid shot and thief not being able to dodge quick enuf. Now whether or not rapid shot is supposed to bring a thief out of stealth is not my prob. if it does then it does. It doesn’t happen all the time tho. And when it doesn’t happen is when the thief backstabs and essentially one-shots me even having 19k hp. Now that is op.
(edited by Nocturnal Lunacy.8563)
AND MAKE IT SO IT DOESN’T REQUIRE SO MUCH CRAP TO CRAFT. Anet said it wanted to get away from grinding yet that’s exactly what players have to do to get the materials to craft a legendary.
I mean c’mon the amount of stuff you have to get is almost insane. It’s ridiculous.
Please read the rest of my post before replying, so you don’t reply on something that I’ve covered.
I understand that there will be some who disagrees and some who do agrees. But there are lots of fully clothed armour types for those who don’t like the skimpy stuff but it would be really nice if there was more skimpy stuff for those who do like it. After all, this is an MMO and we should be able to dress our characters the way we want it to be. You shouldn’t hate someone for wanting to look like this, it isn’t your character.
All
we are asking is for more choices for those who do like them. And I’m sure, that there are way more people who prefer and don’t mind them then there are people who dislike them.Guess whats the most popular human armor within the game? You guess it, the human cultural tier 3. Here it is

Doesn’t that prove anything?Where did somewhat immature and whimsical, but also absolutely essential staples of fantasy fashion go?
This game is lacking Skimpy Armor and we need more. I’m not saying every single piece of gear should be skimpy, I’m saying there should be at least a few more.
I’m not saying that skimpy armor should just be for females, in fact there is a lot of males characters in which their armor is revealing. Such as, Kratos from God of Wars and Leonidas from Spartan total warriors.
I’d like to remind you that this game and other MMOs alike, where people carry a zoo in their pockets and fling fire from their fingertips, 200 foot tall boss being destroyed, wrecked and somehow held back by a single 3 foot tall Asura and all evil in the world mysteriously revives itself after time even when proclaimed defeated. There is enough applied magic and game-mechanic-elements that are more an offense to logic and immersion than presumably enchanted jockstrap providing the same protection as slightly less enchanted spiky armored greaves with skulls on their kneecaps.
One point I agree with is various Asian allegedly-free-games using skimpy armor to an atrocious extent as a marketing gimmick, but I’m not asking for that. I ask for choice in the matter.
Please remember to stay on topic and keep up a constructive and positive discussion on these forums.
Um…aren’t they skimpy enuf? Any skimpier and it would be on the verge of perversion. You know what? While we’re at it, let’s just make them completely nude, how’s that?
Make all in coming damage disable one of your strongest skills, cut your armour in half and remove all defensive and healing effects.
First of all, the armor and healing effects need not be removed if brought out of stealth by incoming damage.
Seriously, the reason stealth doesn’t have a statistical counter is because it isn’t a statistical defense. It’s a magic trick, and like all magic tricks, it’s significantly less amazing when one figures the trick out. If it were anything more then a trick, thieves likely wouldn’t be considered terrible at PvE.
As it stands, a stealth counter skill is literally a thief shutdown skill. No class has a shutdown skill against them, so neither should thieves.
Secondly, a stealth counter is not a thief shutdown skill. It’s just a way to reveal the thief. After all, if you read what Anet had said about the thieves to the magazines and press etc. “The Thief stealthing is meant for the thief to get away and heal”, not to inflict crap loads of damage. Oh, but I guess that statement was completely forgot about. If every other profession can fight and survive without stealthing then I guess a thief can too unless the player’s skills are lacking. Rangers use medium armor and engineers use medium armor just like the thief, if the thief can’t figure out how to survive without stealth or being revealed, then it is the fault of the thief and not a thief shutdown skill or any other excuse a thief would use to being able to keep stealthing. I do not have a thief character and will not make one as other players over using stealth and the egos that go along with it have really got me to hate the thief profession, besides, I’m not scared enuf to hide in order to attack.
Stealth um there is just no real counter except the hope of landing aoe damage which usually there using stealth to get out of the area.
Why is there no counter to this?
I have no clue not even a skill from maybe even one profession that can counter this.
Players say that stealth is not a problem but really they are just stealth users themselves.
I have seen certain stealth users that are really good able to fight 2-3 opponents alone.
Im not saying there opponents are bad or anything but stealth with a good player makes even another good player without stealth have real trouble in a duel even lose most of the time.
Why is stealth not considered a boon? I bet if it was a removable boon it would make sense.
Telling me stealth is required for the profession? I feel that they feel that way cause of the fact their using berserkers. You might even tell me you expect me to fight without stealth as a thief or mesmer? I have been in and seen fights with thieves that have actually fought and won without stealth. There wasnt spectate at the time so I could never check their build out.
Mesmers they already got a truckload of mechanics that makes them one of the most dominate professions. I have already had my share of mesmers that are ridiculously powerful with stealth and a whole lot of other stuff their capable of depending on their build.
I agree with you 100%. Everyone says to use aoe or melee around or whatever. But why should we have to do this. And a stealth’d thief does not always come out of stealth when attacking. I can’t count the times I’ve been downed from damage from a stealth’d thief that spammed the number 1 skill while still in stealth. And the Ranger “Entangle” has absolutely no effect on a stealth’d thief. I know I’ve tried it almost every time a thief has stealth’d near me. And the damage output while stealth’d IS OP!!!! period. Backstab causing enuf damage to down a player who HAS NOT COUNTER TO DAMAGE DONE BY STEALTH’D PLAYER is ridiculous. And one thing that absolutely needs to be taken out is the thieves ability to “finish them” while stealth’d. After all, if they can’t claim sentry points or any area while stealth’d, then why can they finish off a player while stealth’d. I don’t care if a player stealth’s to hide. But there has to be a counter to the damage output from that stealth.
This isn’t nerfing a thief it’s making it balanced for other professions that can’t stealth. I’ve been saying that a stealthing profession is unbalanced as long as there is NO SPECIFIC COUNTER to that stealth by other professions.
And I don’t want to see any comments about running from the area cuz I don’t run from fights or using aoe or whatever BECAUSE IT DOESN’T WORK. I’ve only seen it work maybe a maximum of 20-25 times since Guild Wars 2 began. And this is not counting the um…(at risk of having this comment deleted)…hackers that seem to stay in stealth for very long periods of time only to attack you when you believe them to be gone. Once I stood there for almost 5 min with a few other players watching for a stealth-ed player who never came out of stealth until we began leaving and the thief started attacking again.
I just got the most awesome idea ever. I would like to see some kind of brawling arena set up just like a boxing arena with spectators and all.
Where players will wield brass knuckles in order to participate.
A lot like Kilroy Stoneskin’s Punchout from Guild Wars 1.
But not like PvP. When players enter this match or ring or whatever, their armor and stats will be exactly the same. And traits have no effect. That way it is perfectly on equal grounds.
This can be placed in cities or wherever.
It will be PvP but not the traditional PvP.
I’m sure we all have wanted to just knock other players around that have irritated us or just for fun. And it would be a great addition to WvW in the sense that players from opposing servers can duel.
This can be 1v1 or tag team but NOT whole groups like in Zerg vs. Zerg. I mean WvW. And some kind of emote or right click kind of implementation can be put into an opposing players name tag where the “report” is that sends an invite to that person for a boxing match and each match can be set up according to the player that initiates the bout. i.e. 1 round 5 min. etc and then agreed upon by the opponent or it can be random. And just like boxing there can be a 3 knockdown rule for technical knock out and just straight up knockouts. And this can even be given an achievement and title.
And, I’d like to see it implemented in WvW where if a player equips his/her brass knuckles, he/she can actually battle the enemy with them using the boxing skills regardless of class. And the armor and traits will be the same as if using any other weapon in WvW.
I do believe most if not all players would love to see this happen especially when an enemy player uses a laugh emote after downing an enemy or dances on their dead body or whatever.
I know one thing, if this is implemented I will be going after all thieves. (Further comments made by me pertaining to thieves removed.)
Okay, so what you’re saying is that using a tuning crystal which has a wrench icon and using a consumable that has an apple icon won’t replace each other. But only if I use 2 consumables with an apple icon or wrench icon, the consumable with the same icon will replace each other?
So I can assume that using a consumable with a wrench icon will not override a consumable with an apple icon and vice versa?
I was looking at the wiki here GW2 Wiki Potion Page and I saw at the bottom of the page this statement:
“Potion bonuses stack with bonuses from foods and other sources. They do not stack with other potions or Tuning Crystals.”
Q: So what exactly is meant by bonuses?
I generally use Master’s Tuning Crystals and Bowls of Orrian Truffle Soup on my Necro.
Q: Does this mean that I’m not getting the damage addition from the crystals or does bonuses only mean the +10 exp per kill?
There are players I’d like to remove from my block list. I’ve noticed a few players that shouldn’t be there and I also put someone there by mistake.
So I am wondering how exactly I would do this. There is no option to remove anyone from the list.
Sorry I haven’t been on to respond to anything. I’ve been quite busy, but I am still looking for GW2 and GW1 players living in Lincoln, NE or just anywhere in Nebraska. If you do not want to show your name in the thread you can send me a pm on the forum or send me an in game mail to Nocturnal Lunacy.8563
