Bluxgore speaks the truth. Also keep in mind – there are MANY opinions on the forums about what we should be working on. It’s hard to say “the players want X”, because normally, there’s very little consensus on what players actually want. We try to make as many people happy as we can with each update, but it’s nearly impossible to please everyone all the time. This is true in life as well.
Simple solution: implement new type of topics beside normal and Q&A: the poll.
So a user can start a poll called “What feature in SPVP are you waiting most?” and player will vote. That willbe an easy, quick and polite way to know what players want.
Isn’t it?Another problem is that the poll will not be seen by everyone since the majority does not use the forums :P
As Darwin said: natural selection. Don’t you use the forum? Then you won’t be updated about incoming news. Forum is free, open and easy-to-use.
No point in justifying the forum non-users.

You should put ALL SPvP matters as top priority, because if you want GW2 to have a feature, you must do it. Otherwise it will die very soon. Everyone is saying that, because it is sooooo obvious.
I do not doubt you’re working, but you are working slow with wrong priorities. Wake up.Working on every PvP feature we want concurrently is obviously not feasible. Everything must have a different priority. Dueling is a feature that could happen anywhere in the game, and could be picked up by a team other than the sPvP team. As far as our team’s priorities go, dueling is certainly not above custom arenas, spectators, shout casting, split queues, etc. I know everyone may want a specific feature first like dueling, and it sucks we can’t please everybody at once, but that’s the priority we’re working with.
Sorry, I mistyped. That phrase should be “if you want GW2 to have a FUTURE”. And about priority I was not talking about duels.
I was talking about SPvP in general. Custom arenas should had been avaiable since launch… 8 months passed…
MMR and leaderboard took 7 months…
Split queues should be integrated together with ranked matches…
High priority to SPvP means a higher “top player” base that will stream their matches, have interviews etc.
And the consequence for this will be a higher visibility of GW2 in esport community.
And the consequence of this means more new players.
Which obviously means more fun for players and more money for you.
So,I’m wondering why SPvP was ignored till now… :/
It’s like saying “sometime in the future when we balance the game balance won’t be a problem so don’t worry about it now”
…well ok…
I respect you as a dev because I know you’ve personally handled some important quickfixes (really quickly too) but your solution is just silly.
Your game is dying right now, you have to do something right now.We have been working on things
However, we’re nearing the end of a development cycle, so there is literally nothing more I can do right now to help with the dueling “problem” for this patch. When custom arenas are out, you’ll have a much easier time finding the kind of server you like to play on.

When the % rank rises there is a red arrow showing that your rank lowered but instead it rised.
As opposite, when the % rank lowers, there is a green arrow.
Login and check the leaderboard to see your rating.
I guess the % means the % of your rating to enter the leaderboard, so 90% means your rating is 90% of the last one in leaderboard, the 1000th player.
that is not true.
being it a percentile distribution, it means if you’re at 90%, 10% of total population will be higher ranked than you. From a rough numerical standpoint, 1000th on the leaderboards could be only 2 rank points above you if you’re at 90%, you wouldn’t know
percentile distributions are related to the WHOLE population, not only the leaderboards.
You may be right That is why I used the words “I guess” :P Anyway your idea may be the correct one but I personally hope not, because people need a reference of “how much I need to enter LB”, otherwise people will keep asking for a visible rating.
Login and check the leaderboard to see your rating.

Thank you!! I was waiting for it This topic should be sticky ^^ Keep it going
Kheops, Psybunny is trolling you, that build is useless in Pve, WvW and SPvP.

If I’m not wrong, the vertical FOV was activated by default some patches ago… Am I right?
100% agree. It is way too small, kinda pointless in my opinion.
Answer to your last question:
Both sigils will work.
As Hsulf explained the cooldown is shared between sigils that HAVE cooldown. +5 damage has no cooldown, it is a permanent effect so it will not be blocked,
By the way, GW2 Wiki is your best friend:

Totally agree. Using the warhorn right now makes you sad…
Google is your friend.
And GW2 Wiki is your best friend.
“Dictates how much memory the sound engine will use, from a large amount of memory and lower latency to a smaller amount of memory but more stability.”
Same problem here too. I also noticed that sometimes the reset happens between matches which is a BIG problem.
I’m still 100%, but no title, star, or reward, no recognition I got it.
Oh, and for the guy above asking for numbers: 173, 59, 165, 170, 178.
Go to the Chantry of Secrets. Even if I had been there before, I had to go back there to receive my reward.
I’m just wondering what is missing for the achievment. Being unable to claim the title is quite disappointing :/
I found the cause (maybe).
In the Nvidia control panel 3D settings, there is an option called “Antialiasing – Transparency”. Yesterday I choosed “Multisample” and today I got the problem.
I closed the game, setted it back to “Supersample x8” and the problem disappeared.
So this is a new GW2 bug which forces the user to use highest quality settings.
There is no problem for me but you should fix ASAP bugs like those.

OS: Windows 7 Professional SP1
CPU: Intel i5 3570K
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 Ti
Graphic driver: 306.02 Certified (only for 660 Ti)GW2 graphic settings: All set to maximum value apart from “render sample: native”, “shadows: high”, “LOD distance: high”. V-sync enabled.
Nvidia 3D Settings: All set to maximum quality, “application-controlled” where possible.Ok, let’s come to the issue.
After installing latest drivers I solved many problems caused be render sampling setted to “native” (transparent objects and FPS drops).
But now a new problem has come. If I open the World Map and zoom in or out, my FPS drops to around 3 and it becomes impossible to use. FPS drop only when zooming the map or moving it fast. When I stop moving or zooming, FPS go back to 60 (note: V-sync enabled).Screenshots:

I also defragmented the partition where GW2 is installed. Now I’m wondering if any update or any defragmentation may cause this issue.

It seems like the problem got fixed with today’s update. I don’t know if it was fixed by the update or for another reason. Currently the map is working perfectly.
With today’s update I got again this problem. With this update also the bug of “New event nearby” black background appeared again.
After today’s update it happened again. Problem not solved.
Today I logged in and the problem seems solved. I don’t know if it is thanks to update or what.

There is no need to downgrade drivers. Just disable ambient occlusion when GW 2 is NOT running and the run it again. Problem solved ^^
Better Framerate when using in-game SuperSampling

I’m wondering how much is the quality loss if you switch from High Quality to Quality. Anyway I can leave it to HQ and still use Supersample with 50 FPS in some packed areas but I’m a bit scared about WvW. I guess that SS would kill FPS in WvW that’s why I’m just leaving it to native.
Did you do any test in WvW?
I guess there is no arrow. I didn’t see any since first beta :/ Pretty lame imho, air doesn’t deal so much damage.
PS: I reported this bug in my own topic, next time use “search” before open a new topic because the “Tech support” section is already full XD
I had the SAME issue. Close GW2, disable ambient occlusion in Nvidia control panel and open GW2 again. I solved like this.
Render sample set on "native" causes transparency

@Rena Windor
This is funny XD I already tried to switch off ambient occlusion in past but nothing happened. But now I wondered “what if I have to turn it off and restart GW2?”
Turned off ambient occlusion, restarted the client and… solved. I’m still laughing XD
Thanks for letting me try this again ^^
Now I’m wondering when ArenaNet will fix ambient occlusion.
Any idea why it doesn’t make any trouble with render sample set to supersample?? It is a wierd behaviour.
I’m wondering what is gonna happen when new maps will be added. Obviously the world completition will suddenly become lower than 100% so just by complete the new map will you take again the world completition reward?
Probably it resets on the same day when it started. So probably you’ll have to wait 28th September.
It is a “monthly” achievement, not “one-month-time” achievement or “achievement of the month”.
I guess it works like this.
After the update from some days ago the background of “New event nearby” sentence (which appears in the middle of the screen) is no more transparent. Now it is black.
Same thing happened to the background of the buff given from Sigil of Bloodlust. The buff icon which says how many stack you have now has a black background, no more transparent.

Render sample set on "native" causes transparency
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: Oni Link.4621
I already wrote many ingame tickets about “render sample” setting problem but it isn’t fixed yet. I wrote on support website too, but still no asnwer. The problem was bigger with previous Nvidia drivers.
This is the current problem with latest Nvidia drivers 306.02.
In some areas (not all) if you move the camera to a certain angle, everything becomes transparent. It happened in Heart of The Mist, Eternal Battlegrounds, Lornar’s Pass and other areas.
It happens when render sample is set to “native” and reflections are set to “all” or “terrain & sky”.
It does NOT happen if render sample is set to supersample (reflections setting does not affect it in this case).
Screenshots:
First: Render sample = native, reflections = all. At a certain angle (usually looking from ground up) everything is transparent.
Second: Render sample = native, reflections = none. Same angle, no transparency BUT it is transparent in the screenshot (ingame it looks normally), can’t understand why.
Third: Render sample = supersample, reflections = doesn’t matter. Same angle, no transparency at all.
I guess this is an inherit behaviour from previous Nvidia drivers. With 305.xx everything was transparent with render sample set to “native”, always, any camera angle.
It is partially fixed with new drivers but as you can see, new form of transparency came out.
