Here’s the video guys! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOgyt0UnHe8
Enjoy! (:
Here’s a video demonstrating the Warrior sustainability after the patch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOgyt0UnHe8
Anyways, in the video I went against a Warrior Tarnished Coast KNIGHT, an Elementalist Fort Aspenwood GENERAL, and the Warrior Tarnished Coast KNIGHT again. So they are not by all means a newbie, and yet I still managed to fight and win all 3 fights consecutively without going out of combat.
The Elementalist was supposedly the Sustainable God yet I was able to match and almost out sustain her. This is just a small demonstration of the sustainable capability of the Warrior, and since the patch is very recent, I’m sure many other Warriors will do even better than this.
Post June 25th, 2013 patch! Enjoy. (:
Here you go! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOgyt0UnHe8 (:
I see a lot of people complaining about the lack of Warrior sustainability in the forums, but I feel like any more buff to its sustainability will make it OP.
The biggest problem Warriors had back then regarding sustainability are conditions and the Warrior’s lack of condition removals, but with the recent addition of “Cleansing Ire”, “Dogged March”, and condition removal foods, conditions aren’t really a big problem anymore.
Also, another problem Warriors had back then is the lack of viable disengage. Basically, when we get into a fight, it’s incredibly difficult to get out. But now, we have the 25% move speed increase (even while in combat) as well as reduced movement condition duration from Dogged March and condition removal food. We also have the Warhorn #4, the Greatsword #3 and #5, Sword #2, and the OP Shield #5. Also, the recent buff to Stomp (knocks enemies within a certain radius down which basically lets you get away) as well as Balanced Stance (added an 8 second Swiftness), we have more than enough to disengage in fights.
I feel like the biggest mistake a lot of Warriors make is staying in fights even though they’re losing. Disengaging, healing, then going back into the fight is important too. Elementalists do it, Thieves do it, Mesmers do it. Now, with the recent buffs, Warriors can do it too.
Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy the video and be sure to watch in HD! (:

It works only when adrenaline is spent, so you must hit target. It is pretty useless according to me.
It’s actually incredibly good. At least for my build anyways. Eviscerate has an 8 second cooldown, which means you can easily get rid of 3 conditions every 8 seconds. That’s on top of our utilities AND food.
Haha I wish I can show you guys the video already but I’m uploading the 1080p version and it’s taking awhile. It’s only at 55% atm. :T
Definitely 30-25-0-0-15 although I wonder if Empowered stacks with 4 Warriors. 150 × 4 = 600 additional damage.
Pretty sure none of that type of buff stack (assuming you meant Empower Allies because Empowered is unchanged AFAIK).
Haha yes, I meant Empower Allies.

I’m uploading a video at this very moment (21% atm) showing this build in action against a Warrior, an Elementalist, and another Warrior all in one go (without breaks in between fights).
I see a lot of people complaining about Warrior sustainability but with my build, and as you’ll see soon enough, sustainability was the least of my problem. I was healing near full health many times and conditions are basically non-existent with the new trait “Cleansing Ire”. You’ll notice that I don’t have any condition removal in my utility slots and that’s because I use food (-36% condition duration) and Eviscerate (gets rid of 3 conditions basically every 8 seconds) all the time.
“Stomp” is another utility that just recently found its way into my build, as well as the recently buffed move speed trait (25% move speed). It helps you disengage from fights very effectively.
Anyways, all this is useless without something to show it with so just stay tuned! I’ll be posting my post-patch WvW video very soon! (:

I don’t know why a lot of people are complaining about sustain. I recently made a PvP video in WvW against 3 consecutive enemies in a row and managed to beat them all (Warrior -> Elementalist -> Warrior) without a lot of trouble. I was surprised that my sustain outlasted an Elementalist. The Elementalist wasn’t a noob by any means and actually knew how to play her class, but I still managed to out sustain her. The video is uploading at this very moment and I’ll be posting it as soon as possible!
[Edit] This is a GS/A&S build by the way.
Edit: Also, does anybody else kinda like the new stomp? Not sure how useful it is, but it sure is fun.
I LOVE the new Stomp. I’m uploading a video at the moment with Stomp in my utility and let me tell you that it is incredibly useful as you’ll be seeing very soon! (:

Definitely 30-25-0-0-15 although I wonder if Empowered stacks with 4 Warriors. 150 × 4 = 600 additional damage.
Does Cleansing Ire still work even if the burst misses? For example, if I’m blinded and I used Eviscerate, will my conditions be cleansed?
Why are there very few titles available in game, especially when there are so many different achievements available?
What are the difficulties of implementing more titles in game?
Or is it just not a priority at the moment?

I tweaked your build a bit: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fIAQJARUjcOJv5OCPMxBEMDNMLOPoiAkJ0HsDA-jkyAYrARWgICAJvioxWcLiGraBTVuoalLg9GwbwoVLDAzCA-w
You don’t really want to have Bull’s Charge if you’ll be using rifle and Superior Rune of the Scholar. You also want as much damage as possible since the rifle is insane with damage. Superior Rune of Generosity is wasted on a rifle damage build. If anything, you should put it on your GS (if you really want to use it).
But if you’re really adamant on those two builds, go with the first one.
As for the second build, Arms [ 25 ] is a must on your build. I’d suggest moving some points from Discipline to Arms [ 25 ] and Defense [ 25 ] to get those nice bonuses. Or at least change Discpline [ 30 ] to Discipline [XI] for Kill Shots.
[Edit]
Here’s my build which is fairly similar with traits: http://tinyurl.com/gw2-parmstick
I’m able to switch from Axe & Shield to Rifle depending on the situation. Food and Oil I chose are incredibly cheap as well and helpful with this build.

My girlfriend bought 100 also and she got 2 Dragon’s Jade Claim Ticket.
I bought 100 Dragon Coffers. (NOT RICH)
Results:
3 Dragon’s Jade Claim Ticket
2 Mini Holographic Risen Knight
1 Cold Potion
1 Charged Potion
1 Koi Cake
2 Dragonfish Candy
17 Fireworks
192 Pieces of Zhaitaffy
Oh man I love GS/Bow.
Here’s a build for you:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fIAQJARTjcOJvNPCPMRCAThiuMoiJND7qLV4MA-TEALLA
The thing with the longbow is that you attack twice every shot so on-crit effects is definitely a must. Forceful Greatsword is for lower cd on your GS skills as well as some Might stacking (the reason why I got Sigil of Accuracy although you can change this to your liking).
My usual combo with the LB is
F1 → 5 → 3 → 2 → 4
There are two ways to play this. You can either keep your distance from the enemy and use your GS to make the gap bigger, OR you can switch back and forth between the two weapons and fight with the GS as well. This is up to you!
I really like this idea.
I figured since Warriors are considered weak in PvP that we should share our knowledge with one another so all of us can be better at playing this class and actually stand a chance against other classes.
My combos:
GS + A&S
Bladetrail (with the Leg Specialist trait)
Bull’s Charge
Frenzy
Hundred Blades
Shield Bash
Eviscerate
Rifle + A&S
Throw Axe
Cyclone Axe
Shield Bash
Eviscerate
Bull’s Charge
Berserker Stance/Signet of Fury (full adrenaline)
Rifle Butt/“Fear Me!”
Frenzy
Kill Shot
My build’s a bit tankier, but this combo still works really well.
Build: http://tinyurl.com/parmstickI’ve always subscribed to the “kill them before they kill you” philosophy.
I wish this was effective in zerg fights where AOEs are thrown everywhere. :T

Unsuspecting Foe is 50% bonus damage vs. stunned foes.
Bull’s Charge is a 2s knockdown. Knockdown != Stun.
In the description, it says Critical-Hit Chance, not damage btw. I thought Knockdowns were stuns, my apologies! But it still works incredibly well with Shield Bash + Eviscerate (more important than Hundred Blades).
Unsuspecting Foe: 50% critical-hit chance against stunned foes.
Just a quick tip – This trait is incredible with HB + Axe & Shield Combo!
My HB + A&S Combo:
Bull’s Charge (stun to trigger Unsuspecting Foe)
*Frenzy (not necessary but helpful in stacking more might)
Hundred Blades (might stacks from critical hits)
Shield Bash (stun to trigger Unsuspecting Foe again)
Eviscerate (higher critical hit chance will ensure a near-100% critical hit)
Also, Superior Sigil of Impact would be really sexy with this combo since it gives you a 10% increase in damage against stunned or knocked down enemies.
I haven’t played around with Hammers and Maces yet but I’m sure there are combos there somewhere. The 50% critical chance increase is insane considering it adds on to your current critical chance (guaranteeing you an easy 100% critical chance).
I’m gonna’ playing around with Hammers soon and will make more combos regarding this trait. Hammers will destroy for sure with this trait along with the Merciless Hammer trait.
How is blowing into a Warhorn a shout?
Does the higher the level of Fractals you go into affect/increase the drop chance/rate of Vials, Gloves, and Shards of Mist Essences?
Other guy here, I was running 10/0/30/20/10 with full Zerker, but I was running Runes of Hoelbrak and reduced Condition Duration food.
I only run Berserker gear nowadays. I personally find any investment in defensive stats to be a waste of time.
But I’m dumb so don’t listen to me.
I think it’s just a matter of preference. I’m using the optimized mix of Berserker and Knights on my armor pieces but everything else is full Berserker. I have no problem dishing out high burst and auto attack damage while still maintaining a 2.8-3k+ armor. I just don’t like getting bursted down in a couple of hits from a cheesy build.
op’s traits are 10, 0, 30, 10, 20 does this make them glass cannon, hmmm
i want the backpack.
I also have the optimized Berserker’s and Knight’s gear (2.8k+ armor) so I’m not a glass cannon at all!
I don’t want to sound negative, but its just my honest feedback, alot of warriors are running gs a/sh and watching 2 going at it is like…. Watching horseshoes I guess, I’m just waiting for someone to land a hb or evis like how ill be waiting for someone to make a horseshoe for the point.
Haha, I guess it’s more enjoyable playing it than watching it!
Be sure to watch in 1080p!
Stacking HP isn’t really good with Warriors since we already have a pretty high base HP. What you want are Toughness and condition removals. You should have at least around 2.8-3k+ Armor (depending on whether you’re aggressive or defensive) in WvW.
My play style is more tactical with positioning since I like using Leg Specialist so much. I can usually land a full Hundred Blades on enemies with proper timing and positioning.
I’d suggest just playing with your Warrior a lot and tweaking your build every now and then. You get better with experience. Also, Toughness is better than Vitality for Warriors since Warriors start off with lots of HP to begin with.
Oh and the biggest advice I’d give is that don’t use and spam all your skills and utilities all at once at the beginning of fights. Practice proper timing and positioning when using your utilities and skills, as well as timing your dodges well. I guarantee that this will win you your fights the most.

Instead of a static healing per second, why not make it percent based instead? Or percent based + healing power.
An over simplified formula would be:
Health Regenerated = (Healing Power + 1% of Total Health)/2
This way, Warriors can stack Health and Vitality without worrying about heals not scaling up. It would give Warriors some much needed sustain it needs for PvP.
Some quick points to make:
I’d suggest moving 10 points from Strength to Arms and getting Forceful Greatsword so you get the much needed Precision as well as Might stacking and lower cooldown on your GS.
I’d also suggest changing Balanced Stance for “For Great Justice!” for the buffs (since you have Empowered) which will give you some more Might as well as the much needed Fury (20% critical chance).
I’d also argue that “On My Mark!” is a better shout than “Fear Me!” because of its significantly lower cooldown as well as its Vulnerability condition which you can stack with your Rending Strike.
Since you have a fairly high Healing Power, I’d suggest going for Mending instead of Healing Surge so you have more condition removals.
Dogged March (Defense [II]) is a must for every Warrior build in my opinion. It’s just way too good to have for your 10 point investment in the Defense tree.
As for sigils, there are a TON of sigils that are way more useful than what you have right now.
If you’re adamant about your traits, then at least change your Cull The Weak with Embrace The Pain since you have 2 major traits as well as your main heal skill relying on your adrenaline.
Also, your trinkets could use some optimization for min/max.
Here’s your build but optimized: http://gw2buildcraft.com/calculator/warrior/?8.3|1.1g.h1|c.1c.h15.g.1c.h1|1c.7x.1c.7x.1c.7x.1c.7x.1c.7x.1c.7x|1n.9d.1n.9d.1n.9d.1i.9d.1i.9d.1i.9d|0.k5a.a2.u68c.a5|2m.7|5z.69.6b.6a.6m|e
Oh and something you might consider getting in your Tactics tree is Leg Specialist (a personal favourite of mine) which is an amazing set up for your Hundred Blades. Here’s a video of me utilizing this combo in WvW: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dl4cUNFFIPY

Dangit! Hmm… I spend most of my time in PvE although sometimes I find myself in WvW a lot more than expected! It there a build that is so-so for both? Gosh, I’d like a dual spec type of thing…… respecting every time between both zones sucks!
Well, this build is perfectly okay in PvE! I’m talking mostly about dungeons (Citadel of Flame) in general since I’m sure you as well as a lot of people want fast clears of dungeons where a full DPS build is much better than a balanced build. But I’d suggest going for this build if you’re still new to the Warrior since a living warrior puts out more dps than a dead one. Also, for traits you wouldn’t want DotE in PvE since enemy mobs don’t really use buffs as much as enemy players do.
First of all, the video clip is great! But your second set you have on is it axe/shield? And would this build work outside of WvW? Like Pve?
It only works in WvW haha. In PvE, I prefer 20-30-0-0-20 with same gear just because you’d want as much DPS in PvE as you can have since mobs are significantly easier to kill than enemy players.
I have a completely different build in tPvP!
Loaves of Saffron Bread
- 20% condition duration
+ 20% reduced incoming damage when stunned/knocked down/knocked back
Quality Maintenance Oil
Gain power equal to 5% of your toughness
Gain power equal to 3% of your vitality
These two are a MUCH better and SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper alternative to the Bowl of Lemongrass Poultry Soup and Master Maintenance Oil for price/effect.
I will be posting a gameplay video showing this new build in action in WvW really soon. I have tried it in WvW already and I can honestly say that it’s a significant change for the better. I can now take on multiple enemies (2-3) because of a MUCH higher dps from DotE, SoM, Maintenance Oil, and Bloodlust. I can also stay in fights much longer because of the full 30 points in the Defense tree, Loaves of Saffron Bread, and Dogged March. Overall, this is a huge buff for Warriors that I enjoy very much!
Honestly I’m happier with Burst Mastery than Boon Hate
I love how they did that also for the Rifle Warriors haha. Burst Master + Signet of Might (unblockable) + Kill Shot = Rifle Warriors!
Dogged March and Destruction of the Empowered are godlike. Add to that the +180 Power and Unblockable status from Signet of Might and the Warrior is back where it belongs. It made this class feel like a WARRIOR again.
A simple question about the runes:
why don’t you go for the classic 2 Krait 2 Centaur 2 Afflicted for 45% additional bleed duration instead of pumping up condition damage, so you can invest some Deadly Arts points into something more useful?
Because that only gives you bleed duration whereas 30 points in Deadly Arts gives 30% condition duration to ALL your conditions – Vulnerability, Weakness, Cripple, Immobilize, Bleed, and Poison.
The Deadly Arts tree gives you access to another condition besides bleed. It gives you access to poison. Poison doesn’t stack damage with each other, only their duration stacks so that’s why I went with Superior Runes of the Undead instead to increase condition damage so both my damage dealing conditions will deal a good amount of damage.
Superior Runes of the Undead gives you 50 toughness which isn’t too bad, but Rabid trinkets will also provide a lot of toughness, enough to make a decent effect on your overall condition damage (from Superior Rune of the Undead’s 6th effect).
Deadly Arts is an incredibly useful trait line for condition thieves because all of its minor traits are based on dealing condition. Steal poisons foes. Poison (from both Stealing AND Spider Venom) inflicts Weakness everytime you poison them.
And the point of using agony sigils is? 25% condition duration from DA will give you one extra second (tick) of bleed. Any more is completely worthless until 50%.
Also no corruption sigils… but instead, poison?
Also, adding on to what I said earlier. I initially chose Superior Sigil of Agony because of the Lotus Poison minor trait in Deadly Arts [ 15 ] which inflicts Weakness on poisoned enemies. Weakness – “Endurance regeneration decreased by 50%; 50% of Non Critical hits are glancing blows (50% damage); stacks duration.”
(edited by Oreoginal.1580)

Also no corruption sigils… but instead, poison?
I’m still playing around with sigils since there’s not really much I can use because of the incredibly low critical chance.
I added Superior Sigil of Minor Corruption on my dagger. As for the pistol’s sigil, I decided to use Superior Sigil of Force instead to add to the damage modifiers from Deadly Arts [ 30 ] and Trickery [ 25 ].
I edited it and added Superior Sigil of Force and Superior Sigil of Minor Corruption instead just to add a bit more towards the damage modifier and increase it by 5%.
Why did you take Last Refuge over Residual Venom?
I wanted some extra defense since I wasn’t used to not having Shadow Refuge in my utilities. I edited it though and moved those 5 points from Shadow Arts to Deadly Arts. Thanks!

Around how much Toughness/Armor do you guys have in Solo Roaming?
My record was 7 ppl at once (2 upscaled) but they were…soo bad. Using a mix of zerk and knight stuff
What were your weapons, traits, and how did you do it? o.o
I’d assume whichever build allows for perma-swiftness…so it lasts long enough to float your kitten back to friendly skies.
Otherwise I don’t think there’s a build that exists like that.
Even against two people?
If you know for a fact that these 2 or 3 enemies are gonna’ catch up to you, and you have a couple seconds to prepare, what are you gonna’ do? What’s the most viable build I can use to achieve this? Obviously, for balance purposes these 2 or 3 are mostly lowbies with only 1 actual level 80, and that guy’s that’s not even really well geared or is a bunker.
I have all possible weapons as well as 6 Ascended pieces and full Divinity Runes on my optimized Berserker and Knight mixed armor.
What’s the best set up and mix of damage and survivability would YOU use/utilize when faced with a situation like this?
Like Plushies! DEFINITELY PLUSHIES! I think this would be the equivalent of Skins to League of Legends. I, as well as tons of my friends (who now play GW2) spent 10s and 100s of dollars on skins on that game. Nowadays, all you see are Arah gear or T3 Cultural gear on most people. There’s not enough armor pieces to truly make the vast majority of GW2’s population look genuinely unique. I guarantee that this will increase Anet’s sale by A LOT!
