I’ve noticed this bug:
When combined with the 5 Point BM Trait that gives you and your pet quickness on swap:
-Melee Range
-Swap Pet
-Immediately press F2The F2 for pets will activate immediately in the direction they are facing and NOT at the target you want them to focus.
E.g. Swap then use a drake’s F2. They will shoot their cone at nothing to the right of the target.
This also happened with my cat/bird pets
Dude, the only pets you should be using is the leopard and the jaguar. They are the least bugged and put out nice damage. As far as I’m concerned, the ranger certainly got the short stick when it came to pet options. There’s literally not one impressive or interesting pet in the list. But, there’s a million cool and scary creeps in the world. Why the kitten do we not have raptors? Nightmare hounds? Etc. Etc.
I’ve been using sword dagger and while it is fun and mobile…holy hell the AA is god awful. You literally can’t hit the broad side of a trebuchet with it. Try and attack a gate and just watch how many “misses” show up. And that’s just a kittening wall. Using it against a foe is another story…It can be nice for chasing someone low on hp, but the hit detection is just garbage. I only use it as an evasive tool. Now, if the Sword dagger combo had hit detection and fluidity of the thief D/D it would be a lot more viable.
@Haya: Well, for Spvp I believe the commands need to change. Right now we have 1. Attack everything and run into AOE no mans land (Guard) and 2. Sit there and look pretty (Avoid combat). How about guard means the pet stays next to you like “avoid combat” but attacks your targeted foe as a priority. This would be nice for S/D Rangers…I know there aren’t a lot in spvp, but I’ve found the evade mechanism adds a lot of survivability and you can kite the kitten out of backstab thieves while your pet eats them. Keep or remove “avoid combat”, but add another choice, “Attack” which would be like “Guard” is now.
How is it thiefs can steal fear from necro and it lasts 4sec but the necro fear doesn’t even last as long…. Same for when they steal from warriors… Seriously? 4 sec fear come on Anet really…..
Amen. There’s always that one blatantly op class in every game, though. Devs just say they’re looking into it and the bads defend it.
I’ve never understood this either. The only logical conclusion I’ve come up with is that there is an inside joke at Anet. Other than that…yeah…it’s pretty kittening stupid to name a skill “retreat” when you can and will be using it to engage and just get to places fast.
Jaguar’s stealth ensures a almost guaranteed crit….its good for burst damage..its actually quite good.
I would say the pigs and their F2
4 second fears and 2 second stun initiations are bad?
Disappointing huh? No nightmare hounds, griffons, or raptors available as pets in a fantasy mmo, but hey! You can have that pig, pigeon, and dog. There’s some aspects of this game that really make you wonder sometimes.
Ugh…I don’t like the pets at all for spvp. It just doesn’t make sense for the “guard” command to make your pet zerg rush into people. It would be better if the pet would just attack people within a ten foot radius of you. Sometimes I wish you could just play without a pet for a % increase in damage and toughness. There’s just too many critters, clones, demons, and kitten floating around sometimes.
I think the Fire Trait: “20% recharge rate on fire skills” should apply to the Axe and Greatsword. Afterall, the trait does say “all fire skills”. The trait should apply to the cooldown of conjuring, but it most certainly needs to apply the skills of each weapon, because right now it doesn’t. Furthermore, if you transform into mist or fall into water you lose your conjured weapon which is a major pain in the kitten if your build focuses around these weapons. I’ve been using the axe and gs in spvp for kicks, and it’s been fun but they seem pretty unreliable. Sure, it’s nice to conjure two axes but can’t we just conjure one with twice as many charges and time? They aren’t so powerful that it would be gamebreaking for them to get a small buff.
Yeah the high skill cap and low damage were a major turn off for me. I don’t like the fact that Anet forces you to only one weapon, and I wish you could focus more on a single attunement. I really like Air with S/D, but using only one attunement is just silly because you’re only using one forth of the weak kit.
I know gw2 "doesn’t have an auto attack ", but it does >.<. There seems to be two different ranges to spell one on aa (first spell auto attack). The first range is where you tab or click your opponent and either press one or double click. As long as you are in this distance you with continue to auto attack, however, there is a second range to the auto attack. If you back up until your character stops AA’ing, then spam spell one your attacks will still land, but you have to cast spell one and I’m surprised at how much range some of the professions have, but they can’t take full advantage of it. Idk if this was intended, but it happens to all ranged attackers like staff necro and longbow ranger. Is this supposed to happen?
I can upload a video if what I wrote makes zero kittening sense to you.
