All the classes have been changed a lot. Everything is changing. And if you only watch 1v1 for the downstate I’m sorry, but it’s more about watching how someone reacts to another player from the first skill to the last skill be it upstate or downstate. Are they able to spot an animation and have the perfect counter? Are they fast? Most importantly do they display sportsman like conduct? Does the player cry and curse when they lose? Or do they say, “gg” and move on. And guess what? If you don’t like 1v1 Arena you can geeet out!
(edited by Panther Chameleon.8465)
There is no counter or skill involved with this, “skill”.
You mean like staff guardian 5? And hammer 5? Trap a Thief inside this and watch them bounce around. Caltrops isn’t a ground targetable skill. They have to be in the cap. Catch a thief and smash it.
That’d work except dodging rolls right through those abilities without issues. You know dodge right? It’s that thing they’re doing to drop caltrops in the first place. Such a well thought out counter though, perhaps you should skulk away in silence after that idiocy.
Well, if you can’t trap someone with two walls you shouldn’t be playing. Bottom line, they need to be at your feet to dodge and land caltrops. If you can’t stop one player from running through you, how can you stop 5 people running through you figuratively and literally? Perhaps you should stop being a squid. I stop that caltrop kitten all day when I play Guardian. You can, too. Plus, a concecration sanctuary directly kittens caltrop thieves in the kitten hard. And “Caltrops” have a cast time. There’s plenty of opportunity to spot it and knock the Thief about 300 away from the cap.

The only rough spot really is spvp/tpvp.
A lot of people bought the game because it was marketed as a pvp utopia. It’s more like a totalitarian state telling us," Play this one build because it works right now. And don’t be down because you got stomped in tpvp. Learn to play. We’ll fix that Trait Tree in a moment. Fixing bugs is more important than your profession right now. I’m talking too much, so we are going to keep things really quiet. You won’t hear much about class balance because we are working…shhhh.shhhh…shhhh."
edit- Oh yeah. You forgot to mention GW1 also had Heroes’ Ascent among many, many other things.
(edited by Panther Chameleon.8465)
Why? What if players knew what they’re opponents’ profession was before the match? Get to move traits and what not around if you can predict what they might throw at you. Possibly getting a look at each others utility bar before you lock in. 1v1s are fun to watch and when they both go to ‘down state’ at the same time it really makes for a great show. If something was actually at stake like precious QP points and ranks players have a reason to play hard. Maybe throw in a little gambling, idk I’m from the South. Let’s also add blackjack and hookers.

Never release stuff half baked. 1v1’s w/o 1v1 balance will never happen.
Have a nice day.
Woah, sick burn. My point was, we could be talking about 1v1 in a good light (not the moon) or keep saying “1v1 balance, wah!” (the moon), but I didn’t expect you to interpret that. Never release stuff half baked? Spvp is “At the tip of the iceberg.”-JP. So, basically the game everyone is playing is indubitably “half baked”. You don’t understand game development, I know. They aren’t going to waste time and money to balance this game in 1v1 unless it’s way farther down the road. They are still fixing tpvp. It’s not perfectly balanced. Woah. Did you just see the correlation there? No? The entire game is unfinished, so who cares if 1v1 is unfinished. We just want new game mode, eff eff sss.
If my computer wasn’t a total piece of junk, I’d gladly take video of my Ranger crushing pretty much every profession in melee combat. I have to run everything on the lowest settings to even play, so if I was running Fraps in the background too, I’d probably be getting like 5 FPS. Hehe.
Ranger is surprisingly durable in melee combat. I very rarely lose one on one fights.
All depends on the build and I should have been more specific. I prefer going glass cannon with zerkers to maximize Longbow damage. Hits for around 1900 on squishy targets. Plus, if you take Beastmaster signet and Save me you can technically have 12 seconds of invulnerability. Don’t get me wrong. You can fight melee and do very well, but I don’t think it’s worth going into every melee skirmish.
This is why I roll longbow/greatsword and I think that it’s the only viable build for pvp because you never want to be in melee with how squishy Rangers are. If they do come at you try and defend with gs and switch to longbow for a knockback, aoe cripple, and rapid fire. I did the trapper/torch cond thing for a while and it’s fun, but stopped after they patched the traps. OP you should try and defend a point with a guardian and stick to high ground. Use guard to place your pet near the cap and you can switch guard with another utility once the cd is done. Your pet will remain guarding and you can use something else like Quickening Zephyr. Also, try experimenting with Siamoth because “plasma” gives you all boons plus combine it with RaO and runes of lyssa which can be very useful in any situation.
Reddit is your friend. http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/search?q=mystic+forge+recipe&restrict_sr=on
In a team setting many of those points are invalid. Guardians aren’t unkillable in a 5v5. Perma stealth thieves aren’t really an issue in formats based around capturing points. 1v1’s are a completely different format based on killing your opponent in single combat. If 1v1’s are introduced, Balance changes for 1v1’s WILL come sooner or later.
Talking about 1v1’s and not talking about 1v1 balance is like talking about the night sky and refusing to talk about the moon. It’s kinda hard to miss, even if you squint real hard.
Talking about the moon? No wonder you’re narrow minded. You realize that we could talk more about celestial bodies, meteor showers, unexplored galaxies, planets in our solar system, and aliens? And you want to talk about the moon? What is this? 1969? I’d rather talk about the space station or mars than a big piece of dust. This game isn’t about killing. And if you honestly believe they will balance this game for 1v1, spvp, wv3, and start esport…oh my. You realize they are still making changes to spvp? That’s what the State of The Game Video was about.
(edited by Panther Chameleon.8465)
1v1 implemented —> On the lower end of the skill spectrum people whine and kitten about mesmers and thieves --> On the higher end of the skill spectrum people whine and kitten about guardians and perma stealth thieves (sittin invis forever if they can’t win which leads to rage) —>Eventually more whining-->nerfs—>wvw/spvp/tpvp suffer.
You don’t have to talk about 1v1 balance; other people will talk about 1v1 balance when it gets implemented, and they will talk a lot.
Literally everything you just said is already in the game, so wtf if your point? They’re unkillable guardians, perma stealth thieves, and mesmers in spvp. If you want to use a perma stealth thief in 1v1 be my kittening guest. If I can’t kill you and you can’t kill me bring on the kittening “Draw”. I don’t want Anet to waste their time with 1v1 balance, and they’ve already made it clear it’s not going to happen. So, why are you still bringing it up?. Let the devs balance the game with the pro’s, so they can get the esport rolling. Just because people will bltch and moan about 1v1 balance doesn’t mean we should limit game modes and options for everyone. I’m not saying, “Don’t start a thread and talk about 1v1 balance.” I’m saying, “Right here, in this kittening thread let’s stop saying the same kittening thing as the rest of the mob.”
Oh my lord, halleluiah! Thank You! Now, I have a reason to use dyes logically instead of my current rainbow gear with starter dyes!
Dueling is fine and fun. Having a 1v1 Arena not so much. Simply because the moment it’s put in people will start QQing about 1v1 balance and how that thief is waaaaay too OP because some nub got killed in 2s flat.
Wow, guys. Try and at least browse the first page before replying. We’re not talking about 1v1 balance. There’s a million ways to let players know 1v1 Arena is to test ones skills/strategy against strictly another person. It’s not about winning all the time, but about having a genuine interaction with another player without interference from a trebuchet or what have you. People complain about Thief burst and Bunker specs in tpvp, so what’s up?! Huh! What you gunna do! Remove tpvp because people qq about burst/bunkers!? That’s how the devs want it! So, the common response is, “L2P noob.” This logic also pertains to 1v1 Arena. Are you having a difficult time in 1v1 Arena? “LOL, L2P 1v1”.
dueling should be put in immediately, not just to help build a pvp community and give players something to do while in 1hour paid ques etc
but how do they expect new players to learn their class, learn how to fight other classes, learn all the different abilities in the game? new players don’t learn much getting zerged by aoe in lolconquest.
i don’t know any mmo without dueling. they don’t have to balance around it and if someone doesn’t want to duel he doesn’t have to accept the duel.
Dude. Exactly. They even said in the state of the game video it’s very hard for new players to l2p spvp because of the burst. Well, I think if they were serious about helping new players in spvp the game would have been loaded with information and tools to help you fight other classes. Devs need to be honest with their customers by letting them know,
“Hey, (new player) watch out for this Thief/Mesmer profession because it will stomp you in 3 seconds. Make sure you have a team mate with plenty of knock back to stay alive. If you find yourself in a 1v1 situation, don’t panic. Just counter his high burst with high defense skills and unload on him after his first burst fails. Also, try to dodge CnD to leave him hanging. Remember, (noobie) this game is balanced around tpvp, and it’s not against the rules to make a good burst class and use it.”
Having useful bits of information pertaining to spvp in-game would do loads for the people who just want to try spvp without researching builds and watching things on youtube. They should be given the tools to be successful, not thrown into free tournaments, hot join zerg fest, or roflstomp paids.
Why don’t Thieves just put a shadow (or ambush i forgot) trap next their Lord or along the path? Thief skips over the door, runs through the trap, and now you can teleport right behind him and be stealthed for 5 seconds.
This game is not balanced for 1v1, however a 5v5 arena would be awesome.
Hi, welcome to this thread. Let me help you read it. OP and I both said that 1v1 balance is meaningless. Tpvp isn’t balanced yet, and JS spoke with many professionals about what they think needs to be changed to make their meta more acceptable for an esport. They talked about rezzing vs. aoe, ele downed state, etc. So, let’s make things clear. We aren’t talking about 1v1 balance, so everyone can stop regurgitating the same sentence.
Apparently you didn’t watch that State of the game Video either. He clearly said that custom arenas can be used for scrimming or dueling etc. They have actually been saying that for awhile, and still you are complaining.
And I typed that because he acts like 1vs1 is being ignored. Dueling is 1vs1 take it or leave it. Get a custom arena or don’t 1vs1.
Yeah, I don’t think the dwindling population of casual spvp players will be forking out cash for custom arenas anytime soon. New players are turned off by the burst in this game when they step into spvp and they talked about that in the interview. It’s hard for beginners because of the lack of knowledge and learning materials. If they had a kitten spectator mode and 1v1 people could watch how different classes react when fighting each other. Are you stuck in a 20 minute queue? Here, hop in spectate mode and watch some quick fights.
(edited by Panther Chameleon.8465)
id like to see team deathmatch (like WoW’s arenas) over 1v1 arenas. team DM should have been the mode of choice, and they should have introduced control points after.
Hotjoin is tdm with “capture points” that you don’t really need to capture to get top score and glory. 1v1 is a unique experience regardless of what class is best for dueling. Some people take pride in at least getting FOTM builds close to downed with irregular theorycrafting.
Something else I wanted to add, they are balancing the game towards 5vs5 conquest play, not 1vs1 deathmatch.
I think OP and myself have both stated we don’t give a flying flamingo about balance when it comes to 1v1. Stop acting like we are going to destroy the tpvp meta because two people would have the option to fight each other without interference. I don’t give a flamingo if it’s the last thing on their list, but it would be a kitten good idea to add a few basic option for casual spvp goers. Get people from pve who want to duel and let them both join a server and have fun. Isn’t that what’s about? Flamingo, I don’t want to hear anything about 1v1 balance. They haven’t balanced tpvp perfectly, and JS did say they will be slowly tweaking the game based off what the pros want because apparently they are the only ones that know anything about the meta for one single game mode.
I run at least one trap plus scopion wire all day. Pulling someone into a trip wire then steal/bs spam hs is so funny. I completely forgot about my Ranger trap build. Yes, they have problems but they are so much fun.
A Ranger uses all of his tools to be effective. It’s not wise to rely on a single weapon/off hand to do all the damage. I’ve found that GS/LB is the best weapon combo for spvp and I think that’s why you start with it when you first enter the mist. You get 3 knockbacks if you use a canine or porcine, too.
It’s a tad different in a 1v1 setting sorry. The mesmer will catch up to you and will most likely kill you as 10 seconds is a huge amount of time in a fight.
It’d probably take a Mesmer ten seconds to even reach someone if they used a good escape path even if he did use a gap closer. Most classes have invulnerability utility, so they could just pop that and heal after. Regardless, if Moa was popular in 1v1 good for it! It’s hardly used in spvp because of how much the patch changed it.
I can’t wait to hear all the people who get Moa’d in a duel go on the forums and ask for a huge mesmer nerf.
I like getting Moa’d now, actually. Just turn around a press 5. Thank you Anet for making Moa not so bad. It’s also such a great dodge, too. In fights, I don’t normally have that much mobility but kitten can you fly with that Moa. Sorta reminds me of Chocobo racing!
(edited by Panther Chameleon.8465)
Adding 1v1 would bring about more crying and whining about balance then there already is now.
Ay, fo getta bout it. That’s what we tell ‘em. But, they’ll label 1v1 “Enter At Your Own Risk” or “1v1 beta” or “1v1 .001”. I want to see the best Thief in the game fight the best Mesmer in the game. If it got popular, you could have a queue with 1v1 Open Division or 1v1 Class Restricted. Maps could be walled in sections of every spvp map making it up close and personal or an open field from wv3 all with random weather cycles.
The question is….would you be satisfied if dueling/1v1 is introduced without any sort of balancing towards it? Because it would require a complete rework of every single class, not to mention that it will pigeonhole builds even more.
And why not other objective based game modes? Pvp is not solely about killing your opponents.
Yup! Forget balancing. More game modes. Nobody will ever be 100% satisfied. Might as well just add 1v1 for kitten and gigs. Just give it a label like, “Enter at your own risk” instead of “1v1 tournament”. Oh man, just the idea of having spectator mode and 1v1 is awesome. I always enjoy watching other peoplefight 1v1 in every game. Especially in Chivalry: Medieval Warfare. The dueling is just amazing, and it’s not just about killing people. It’s more about fighting someone 1v1 without outside interferences. Maybe people will find the best 1v1 build one week and every uses it. Then, some other guy rolls along with something else that just blows it out of the water.
Simple fix. Turn that option off and switch to greatsword when a melee attacker comes at you. Now, dodge roll directly into them when they cast whatever gap closer or close range skill and turn around. Use your greatsword as a defense tool because it’s the best thing besides evading with 1h sword. Your not going to be very successful with a longbow at close range, so if you don’t want to fight in close quarters you can always use RaO and try to run away to a better position until they find you again.
No.
Making a class counter a class’ unique mechanic is stupid and a quick bandage way of balance. The ranger needs buffs but not this crap that keeps getting rehashed
It’s not a unique mechanic. Thieves do not own stealth. They have the opportunity to capitalize and spam it through their traits and utilities. Is Poison a direct counter to healing? Pretty much. Does cc directly counter Necros/Warriors and anyone else without stability? Yup. I play Thief without a single stealth ability and do quite well, so the only people complaining are Backstab thieves afraid that stealth reveal will destroy thier perma stealth backstab builds. I’m fine with instagibbing, and do agree that Rangers need to have a good burst by buffing, fixing, re-imagining traits and utility.
30/30/10/0/0 with beserkers greatsword/longbow. Start with Longbow and knockback anyone who starts a fight with you. Tac on Hunters Shot for 10 stacks of vulnerability, use a fast Barrage on them for cripple, do a short volley, and switch to gs. Pop Troll Unguent and Beast Masters. Fly at them with 3 and daze with 5. Counter anything they throw at you with 4 and finish with 2. Or switch back to Longbow for another knockdown if they try to run.
blinding light :
900 radius,
4 secs that the whole screen of the player will turn white
60 sec cooldownNO. Guardians and Thieves do the blinding. I don’t think we need more blinds. WE NEED TO SEE!
Its not the blinding that this game has, what im suggesting is blinding as flashbang like what FPS games has, where the enemy screen will turn completely white,
its not a specific counter to thieves, but a utility to rangers to use against different enemies in pvp, whether what class rangers face
So, we want to give the Ranger an ability to turn everyones screen white. I play fps and flashbangs are the most annoying thing for everyone. Firstly, flashbangs shouldn’t turn your screen into a disco party. Flashbangs in css and whatever should turn your screen black because anyone who plays for hours knows a fast flashing bright white screen will really strain your eyes. I don’t agree with this utility, but there could be a way to make it work.
Ranger throws the device or “flashbang” and it slowly starts to affect players who are looking directly at it. The screen starts to turn black from the edges and works its way to the center. However, anyone can turn their back to it and slowly reverse the effects. The flashbang also acts like an AOE combo field fire/poison. Sounds more like an engineer skills, so I think the Ranger needs more utility and traits to build a dependable burst build that can compete with Thieves and Warriors i.e some skill combo that’s as easy and powerful as a hundred blades or CnD/backstab.
Only five seconds, but if you used plasma a few times and needed a quick recharge before a fight it will stack. Plus you gain a random boon when using a healing skill. So, if you use Troll Unguent before going into a fight you’ll stack some random boon a bit longer.
Plasma is 10 seconds though, no idea on Lyssa, but if that’s 5 then you’d be at 15, it’d be pretty good, but not that great.
Yeah, but plasma is easy to stack. I can make a vid explaining how simple it is to take advantage of it. I use Lyssa as a last second steroid to re stack all boons if they happen to be wearing off before I get to a fight. I think it works best with RaO because now you just stacked another 20 seconds of stability and might on top of whatever you already had. It’s better than great.
I’d sooner it be a thief raining on me than a necromancer, no doubt.
Unblockable, instant, massive aoe marks from 1200 range troIoIoI.
Three bleeds low damage…. remove conditions, good thief with a shortbow softening me up for a burst is much much more of a danger.
Yeah, if your class has the utility to remove all conditions. If not, dat chill and poison not to mention epidemic will instantly put everything right back on you. Leaving you even more vulnerable since you just blew a cond removal for a mark.
I’d sooner it be a thief raining on me than a necromancer, no doubt.
Unblockable, instant, massive aoe marks from 1200 range troIoIoI.
Well, most people don’t have the time to wait in queue for 20 mins to play 3 games back to back to hopefully save up enough tickets for paid only to be roflstomped by pro teams that farm pugs for gems. Not everyone can devote 40 hours a week to organize their friends to compete in the comp scene.
Great video and good points. Who knows why they released early, but it was probably because they were in production for so long and desperate for their reward.
Dude, there’s more “grind” in spvp than pve. You have to fight the same burst builds over and over and over capturing the same kittening points. Nobody communicates in hotjoin and it’s just who can get the most “kill credit” for the most glory. Then, you get to play the lotto with your glory with chests and salvage all that kitten in hopes you get something that isn’t a kittening wolf finisher or another kittening arcane orb. My advice? Stay in pve if you like it more.
its got alot to do with how alot of classes lack independence in pvp
pvp based on class roles is lazy design, its no different from the trinity system arenanet constantly said they would do away with
the current way domination works is also very poorly done, nodes should be replaced with targetable points that you capture
there should not even be roamers/support/bunkers, the focus of the game should be based around reading your opponents skills and using your skills and utility appropriately
i would like to present the monkey analogy
http://i47.tinypic.com/sfjcq9.jpg
we need to avoid a situation like this, its horrifyingly already begun
Agreed. Let’s see…Anet uses LoL as an example. However, how many viable builds are used in spvp? 20-30? Most using the same weapon sets; therefore, seeing the same skill combos every day. Does GW2 plan on adding new weapons, skills, armors, new trait trees, and professions to keep the meta from going stale and continually allowing it to evolve? Or do they want to live in the stone age and play with the same bunker/burst specs in there niche tpvp community? LoL and other MOBAs add new champions/gods to their growing list of skills and player options. Some are great and other can totally fail, but the fact that they are updating the game with useful pvp content and new abilities might be a factor in their success strategy. But, two months after hyped release GW2 is sloowing tweaking a beta and talking about how amazing GW2 will be further down the road.
I’ll use Red Orchestra 2 as an example. The first game was extremely immersive and it was unlike any other WWII fps because it still uses gun physics and historical accuracy. You can hold your gun against walls and cover to decrease kick and blind fire. I bought RO1 a year back, stopped playing BF2 and 3 and all COD because it was so much fun. RO1 is also very old, but the gameplay is phenomenal. Then, Red Orchestra 2 comes along with updated graphics, new features, 64 player servers and really hyping the kitten out of the game. It’s truly a beautiful game and the amount of time and energy an inde company put in to building Stalingrad to scale is kittening kick kitten However, the game started with a relatively good pop. of 10,000 and a month later the game was down to about 900 hardcore fans and devs. Why? They made the game for hardcore players, and totally screwed the entire new player base. Nobody wants to install a new 9 gig update every day. On top of the constant updates to their early release was a plethora of performance bugs that were never fixed (similar to loading screen bug) and new bugs came with every update. They tried their best to look and system reports and crashes, but couldn’t keep up. A month after release, they gave everyone another build of the game called RO2 beta because the game was so broken and that build failed, too. I feel like it’s RO2 all over again. New mmo players, vet mmo players, and every day joes are leaving because of the terribad tourney system and poor pvp rewards. Hey, Gw2. We don’t want to get 25 wolf finishers after farming glory for 3 hours in hotjoin. Screw the Mystic Forge, too. The spvp gear and unlocks are just like a COD shooter. You need to be a certain level for this, and you can paint your toon/weapon with this kitten. Where’s the mysticism and glory in spvp? We can’t even enjoy our dyes in game because we have to play like it’s Red vs. Blue kittening bringing back memories of Rooster Teeth.
Try vitality instead. That’s how you have to counter ap burst in LoL. Stack a lot of hp. Toughness isn’t worth it unless your going to be purposefully taking a lot of damage. It’s funny, though. Try playing other classes that need to build survivability and still get stomped fast by glass thieves. They don’t have stealth and can’t match the burst.
I think there is a problem with stability in general. Daggerstorm is easy to shutdown, and it’s only effective if there’s a large group. Chances are one person in that group will just cc you even though you have stability. Too bad they made it an elite. I would rather have a kick kitten ability similar to that than CnD on 5.
Oh, okay that’s how it works. So, you can make a general statement in regards to pet mechanics claiming everything is working as intended and nobody can disagree with you. Then, make a bold statement for “most” of the Ranger players and end it with an insult. That’s really helpful. So, you don’t think a Ranger should be in complete control of his kit?
You’re definitely right about balance.
(edited by Panther Chameleon.8465)
im sure they are being looked at, in case of stomps it does seem abit weird, as far as im aware deathshroud stomp no longer works, stealth stomp does work, mist form stomp? im pretty sure that still works, engis have that elixr that gives them either stealth or stability for stomps, i suggest using “quickness on pet swap” for stomps if finishing it quickly is an issue.
Don’t even get me started on Mist Form. They were talking about how kittening broken it is on the live discussion or whatever the kitten. Even if I were to try and quickness stomp I guarantee she could have just popped stealth. I was crippled, and if I used my signet for stability means I can’t stomp the Thief so I was downed and melted since Rangers don’t get +50% damage when downed…they get to “throw dirt” and pets can lick us, yay!
Anyways, there’s a thread suggesting we give Thieves the greatsword and I’m all for it. It’s the only reason why I’m still using ranger with gs… I hate using a pet, but don’t want to hundred blades anymore. I love the skill set the ranger has for gs, but the god awful pets and forced into defense tree for better cool downs just wrecks it.
Then some people should play a Warrior using a rifle or a bow, an Engineer, or a Thief with a shortbow. There’s your choice to use a pet or not. Rangers are designed as a pet class, that’s how ANet intends for them to be played.
We (the players) should decide when to withdraw our ‘special’ pets. After all, there is a “stow pet” option that was clearly under developed for when we want to put something away that doesn’t mean we want it to randomly appear whenever the game feels like it’s necessary. If I’m trying to escape from a bad situation players can easily follow my trail if my pet is downed. Honestly, I’d rather have one pet and the option to use it when I see fit. I wouldn’t be surprised if the reason we lack godly burst because we can have 2 pets. Do other professions have low burst damge and long cooldowns because they have npcs? Absolutely not.
I guess it’s just the “art style”, but you can say that for just about anything and get away with it. Not saying they didn’t spend as much time with the Medium armor as they did with the heavies, but at the same time it’s kinda easy to spot where money was spent and where it wasn’t. But, for the sheer amount of kitten trench coats it makes you wonder why someone didn’t say, “Hey let’s make a t-shirt.” or “kitten, me that’s got to be enough trench coats!” Who is the guy that was responsible for Medium armor? Morpheus?
Yeah, mud prolly kittening up your necro because you don’t have stability. Then, he just may have healed if you were using wells to remove conditions. Then, sounds like he just kicked and slashed to victory.
If Thieves could have Greatswords there would be even more of a reason not to play Ranger. The gs is a lot of fun, and it’s too bad Thieves can’t use them because let’s face it dd and shortbow get old after a while. Then, let’s give Thieves the longbow, too. Now, we can erase the Ranger class and pretend like that never even happened. Finally, we can get some good looking ninja turtle armor and call it a day.
L2p Ranger. Hey, who knows if they did they would need to let Ele’s and Engineers use GS, too. I want the Greatsword on my Engineer to shoot poison rockets and aoe stun for 3 seconds.
edit- nevermind you said 1h sword. Prolly just running straight Power and crit with quickening zephyr. I much perfer GS>
(edited by Panther Chameleon.8465)
Guard takes you off point, too. This whole game is ridiculous. Oh, you’re not allowed to stomp players when you use Signet of the Wild. That’s fair, right? But, it’s fine for players to be stealth stomped. I’m in a raging mood because I downed a Thief after blocking and evading the burst…couldn’t stomp her because I was perma crippled, but I can’t use Signet of Wild either. Teamate rezzed her and BOOM! Hide in Shadows/Steal/Cnd/Backstab burst ready to go again.
I support the thought of either a canine having their f2 skill detect stealth for a certain amount of time. 6 seconds? Or having the pet skill “guard” reveal stealth for however long that lasts. (How long is that?/what is the area of effect)
I’m against all npc tracking abilities because pets already “track” players that aren’t in stealth and having an npc that basically knows where everyone is would be sorta unfair. It should be up to the players themselves to find stealthed opponents via a new signet, trait, or weapon skill. I know in other games like LoL players can’t stealth when they take damage or if they have a condition damage like bleed. Well, most everyone has conditions so maybe that would be the best route. Also, wards. Maybe implementing a new utility skill that allows you to place a ward that reveals stealth and is ground targetable like an Engineer Turret. Hello, Spirit of Vision.
