Throughout my time playing thief in SPvP (Were not only our Zerker dmg is nerfed but also most of our skills) I’ve learned there is a very messed up thief learning curve. But thieves are still quite strong and I still think they are the strongest class when mastered.
Low skilled thief vs low skilled other class (Performance is Tied, anyone can win)
Medium skilled thief vs medium skilled other class (Thief is very likely to loose)
Mastered skilled thief vs Mastered skilled other class (Thief should RARELY loose)
Thieves defend themselves via use to broken mechanics, Stealth causes un-targeting which is very useful, great placements of blinds will allow you to take way less damage from an exchange than your opponent. Even though I’ve never seen a good evasion S/D thief in WvW, there is a very powerful evasion build in SPvP, but it requires knowledge of what to dodge for EVERY class/build to avoid getting 2 shotted, takes lots of game knowledge to master, but you are likely to win almost every duel.

All existing restrictions will likely remain unless otherwise noted.
There is not a restriction of wearing armor according to your order, just on buying it. Cultural armor is different because it has “Requires Race” and persists even after being transmuted onto another item and made account bound.

You can see your total amount of rank points on the logging screen if you click the arrows left and right of your achievement board and drag your cursor on your PvP medal. Then you can compare it to these values. Hope this helps

Right now you can in PvE, by transmuting onto white items then onto the desired stat item on the new alt. The question is whether the skin will now auto-detect your Order and deny you the mix and match.
Since they are perfectly willing to reduce mix and match options, it seems, this is a valid fear.

In PvE both skins cannot be attained at the same time on one character, but in PvP we can, and its been like this since launch. Now with gear unification both skins might not be used at the same time, and the thought of this is ruining my exitement over the patch.

As a PvPer I have a question about the new Wardrobe system that is going to be implemented, will I still be able to equip gear from different orders like I am doing now?

I would avoid trying to reason with Mr Static, he his a prime candidate of an individual that seals his mind in order to not have to understand your side of the story. He blinds himself so he can keep arguing, only to result in a negative influence to those who are negatively influenced by the changes stated in the OP.

Do you think writing lots of whiney posts about “Oh we’re all going to quit because of this” as if you’re speaking for everyone is going to get anything other than dismissed when it has absolutely nothing constructive added with it? It’s a childish ultimatum stemmed from elitism in a game where there’s a larger playerbase outside of yourself.
Reading this, I feel like if you’re digging in my toilet for a piece of crap I kitten from a meal 2 months ago, and using it to JUDGE my DIET. Has it ever occur to you that English was not my native language or that I wasn’t always sober when browsing the forums?
How are they treated badly exactly? Are they abused on a regular basis and not fed by Anet and forced to go to bed early? No they’re not getting some kind of reward that they feel they are entitled to and they have to deal with rank changes that will benefit more than them. Grow up, the game isn’t about the individual, if you don’t like it, find another game.
To explain this briefly they are being robbed of their hard-earned prestige, As I can see from reading this, rank points don’t matter to you, does that mean that it should’nt matter to anyone?
Heres a situation, these players were playing for a prestige via earning huge amounts of rank points by investing very high amounts of time. Now immagine you in such position (replace rank points by something you’d like, for example a 3 months resort vacation). Now immagine investing around 6000hours playing GW2 for that resort, but at the end, you instead get a 2week vacation along with everyone who only invested 1000hours.
Don’t brush the situation off by saying its not the same thing, some people see lots of value in prestige that you don’t, theres no reason to argue if you close your eyes to stop yourself from understanding anything thrown at you. I will no longer be sharing this childish arguing with you and I will no longer be replying to any of your posts.

I believe that the rank point rewards should be 300 for winning and 250 for losing in hotjoin, because of how terrible it is for this game’s pvp. The low rank points per game played would encourage players to Queue up for Tpvp instead, which is the intended way to PvP in this game.
I am utterly disgusted that such a mess of a game mode is even rewarded to be honest, but 300 for winning and 250 for losing would at least minimize the team switching issue, while promoting Qeuing for increased rewards.

No one is forcing casuals to aim for titles. They can peacefully continue playing the game. There are some PvE players with 1000s of gold that can never be matched by casuals. Does anyone complain? No. There are players with 3-5 legendaries which will never be reached by casuals. Does anyone complain? No. There are PvE titles which 95% of people can never reach. Does anyone complain? No.
PvP is no different.

Casuals = No grind
Hardcore = Grind

Woot, someone else agrees w/ 8.2m being the amount of rank you need to reach 80… wiki and anet say 8.9m, but I can’t get that number to work unless getting dragon is different, and you need to fill your r80 bar before you unlock it.
Also, nice work on the maths.
It can’t be 8.9mil, if rank 78-79 would be 1’200 000 Instead of 450 000, or for 79-80 to be 1’500 000 instead of 750 000 then it would be 8.9mil. But that doesn’t make sense so Ill go with 8.2mill

I’m still waiting on my Ransacker title… and my Marauder.
The titles are so de-synced with actual rank points – I have earned 3,820,000 rank points, but don’t even have the 2,973,500 Reaper Title. I should’ve gotten that a million rank points ago .. It’s bad.

I don’t believe that any ‘’hardcore player’’ would prefer such a flawed and terrible rank system over actual (working) leaderboards, theres no reason to have a max rank so hard to achieve, it will only ward off new players.
Special finishers should be rewarded for ladderposition, when the functional pvp ladders release.
These changes might stop some people to actually judge ranks as a representation of skill! The fact that the maximum rank point requirements aren’t absolutelly insane as what they used to be will give new players a good moral.

I agree with this idea, I find it terrible to treat the high-ranked players like this. I don’t want to be screwed like that in the future of PvP, but you neverknow, the current pvp team is quite merciless.

The Lyssa nerf is fair. Personally, I’ll be glad to drop Lyssa for Traveler runes on my thief. As much as I liked the utility of Lyssa, it was imbalanced and I’m happy that there’s a good alternative to switch to.

That’s not a bad nerf. It’s probably the least they could do to balance the OP rune. Also it’s conditions to boons lol, boons to conditions would be a huge O_O.
^ Yes you’re right, its not that bad, but now fighting warriors are going to require like a freaking D/P or one of those disgusting Pistolwhip builds and these builds feels so static its painful! Unless I absolutely outplay them.

After watching ready up episode 9 on the official gw2 twitch channel, and I noticed around 53mins in, when they were comparing runes, the lyssa rune’s effect was greatly nerfed from loosing all conditions and gaining all boons for 5seconds, to ‘’convert up to five boons into conditions’’.
This is quite bad for me, as a S/D thief I don’t have access to the blind field, thus the stability and the protection of the runes helped me cause serious damage to hammer warriors. It also helped me actually survive signet of spite. Now the S/D build might loose whatever viability it had left.
Note: this is an internal version of the feature pack, so this is surely to happen in the public version

This and a lot of posts are just different angles to attack the injustice of autoleveling r55+ to r80.
I have empathy with the outrage and simply put as you get a small rank increase for losing every match you play, an unemployed monkey trained to join up a character will eventually reach r80.
Hard Fact : rank = time. Bad players more time and good players less time. Therefore if you have more time, say you dont earn a living or at school you will have a higher rank than the best pvper who can only play 1 hour a week.
So by all means get upset at the amount of time those players have:
Pessimistic view : Given away to their competitors
Optimistic View : Gifted to their fellow players.Its depressing I know but it really is a measure of how much time you can play in the current system. I would let it go and save yourself some high blood pressure.
EDIT: reading around the initial point of would you take a r70 over an r40 is the pvp equivalent of the pve filter of 5K AP only groups. Its gambling but limited your losses. In my experience the people who advertise such groups/restrictions are poor players that need better players to help them through.

No the r50+ = skyhammer farmer (Not all to be clear).Rank don’t mean anything nowdays if u wanted to achiev r 50+ now is to late .The only thing i can think as an achiev for the ppl who have 60+ is that Anet has also reworked the titole such as ‘’Marrauder etc’’^^.
