Just remove it arena net, or make that the players who are brave enough to play elementalist not be able to get this map Via solo Q. It is unfair it gives the advantage to some classes while ignoring others. This concept is absolutelly disgusting and NEEEDS fixing. It forces unbalacement with the classes.

So its normal for this to happen? You’re not kidding me? Why the hell does rating exist in the first place? The top players are just allowed to constantly farm new players trying team Q?

So I wanted to get some of my friends together so we could try Team Arena and have some fun, most of our team ratings were 56% except for me who is jumping within 300-600 since I queue with different people.
We Queue up, and then I open the score board to see the classes were fighting against and I see this.
We’re fighting the players within the TOP 10! what the absolute kitten is going on?? did the MMR System crash or something?!?!

What I’d really want to know, is what are the Devs planning to do with the elementalist class. This class suffers too much, but I still DIDN’T see any red posts about what they plan to do with it. When will they buff it? Will they even buff it? What will they buff? Will the class be deleted because its so bad?

Longbow is pretty far from OP, its the same as when warrior was practically unplayable.
What I believe would need a fix and NOT a nerf is the healing signet, they should make this skill smarter, and not an automatic healing.
I jumped from warrior to Elementalist and… lemme tell you that drop was big enough to break legs. But the elementalists can fight warriors rather well if they are not using that signet which is unforgivably tolerant to bad players. Theres not a single noob-friendly ability in this game that is this OP, it allows bad players to shred appart amazing players.

^ I agree after, especially ranger that seems to be able to build quite well into Power or Traps, even if those builds have decent potential, spirit ranger will dominate because of how brainless and rewarding it is.

^ I don’t feel like elementalist is as terrible as some might say, simply because most players seem to only be good enough to pull off necros and warriors because they are easy to be effective, but when it comes to high skilled play, I feel like elementalist STILL gets the low end, and that’s the problem, they play like thief without stealth and they have a FORTY SECOND CD ride the lightning to get away, forty seconds in not just bad, its cruel. We melt when we get fired at, and can’t do much about it.
If swirling wind (#4 on focus air) would stop the enemy necro’s staff abilities, they could actually be useful for team fights.

I’ve dropped down from warrior to play Elementalist, which I’ve spend one month on (2 weeks in PvE to learn rotations like the back of my hands). And I have to say, even when getting shread apart, the D/D zerker ele is the funnest playstyle I’ve played in any MMO, if there is any plans on buffing ele, please avoid giving them the same fate as the ranger, the warrior or the necromancer.
This class is the definition of active play, combination of skills simply to have the effect of a single one, attunement dancing, combo bursting, LoS survival and timed burst! This feels like a thief without stealth but its so kitten fun to play!
Please don’t make this a spammy class or a passive healing class, just fix it the proper way, increase its base toughness and vitality just a bit, slowly, t’ill its enough to play in TPvP, because as an Elementalist, I can’t leave that berserker amulet.

We played our matches knowing we’d get low rewards, and yet we still played them, getting compensation for our decisions in the past is not Anet’s responsibility. We used to play for no gold, now in the near future we will be playing for gold. Just because they decide to give us the blessing of getting gold in the near future via matches, doesn’t mean that they should waste their precious game-mode development time on our compensation that would shatter the economy.

I disagree about the compensation for us PvP players, we used to play for a 200 rank point chest/win, not 1000. We knew when it was unannounced that our rewards would be this low, and we decided to still play team arena. I don’t see a reason why Anet should use their PvP development time for something like this. We were aware of our low rewards, and yet we still played. It is not Anet’s fault for our decisions. Getting 1k rank points a win in the future should be taken as a gift.

It as been a well discussed issue via Gem Gear, but I don’t believe its a totally bad thing for PvP, having multiple pieces of multiple sets, might show a bit more prestige in the look of your character. And the current system, even if it will be deleted, the gear earned will stay, so you can get the gear you want before they fully change the system. Unless your low rank :/

IMO, the solo Q leaderboards should be removed, and the MMR rating system should stay only to attempt fair matchups. Some people dislike the stress of being rated and some actually take it seriously, so it might allow more people into solo Q, then they could attempt finding teams to play with for an actual rating.
The name should also be changed to something more like Random Arena. So it just looks simple and then both the browser and the tournament NPC should be fused into one.

I voted, but unfortunately this is going to be extremely biased towards people that feel most strongly about the topic. This means that it’ll be impossible to draw any conclusions from this poll, which is disappointing.

working nicely as intended. it was too weak previously, but it is fine now.
note, if someone cannot deal enough damage to a healing signet warrior, then they do not deserve to defeat the warrior.
Was I asking for a nerf? I was asking for a timing requirement and to make it possible for interrupts like most other healing skills. Even though I believe warriors current damage/survive ratio is currently the highest in the game, I’d at least want it to require some for of skill.
I’m also wondering why the devs still allow you to reply to anything on these forums, you make a lot of noise by yourself.

-Warriors, has a signet that gives massive healing despite having such high defense, no need to think about using it… it uses itself.
-Spirit rangers, one of the strongest duelling classes in which spamming one is viable.
-Necromancers(condi & MM), spam conditions, all you need to worry about is timing fears and CC available to you.
-Engineer(condi), make sure you use every single condition ability while its off-CD and make sure to keep vigor up with kits, timing is within blinds and shield abilities + ultimate only.
Now for more active builds:
-Rangers(power), requires immense skill in order to simply function, being overshadowed by probably the easiest build in the game(spirits) and is much less viable.
-Engineer(Power), this is on a whole different skill level than condition engineer, and requires much more timing, often STILL overshadowed by the condition engineer.
-Thief(Classic D/P), requires immense skill simply to function, probably the highest skill-cap build that can still be viable, but lacks so much performance in standard to other classes/builds.
-Elementalists, this is just sad… this class is probably the most active in this game, utilising almost every skill in every attunment, this class’s performance is most likely the worse and the risk/reward is just terrible. I believe it’s performance is worse than the old warrior.
(As for Mesmer and Guardian, I was never interested in, and know very little about, but they seem well balanced to play.)

- if rank 1-20 for 30 consecutive days you get acces to a gold trimmed cape for 1 month.
- if rank 21-50 for 30 consecutive days you get acces to a silver trimmed cape for 1 month.
- if rank 50-100 for 30 consecutive days you get acces to a bronze trimmed cape for 1 month.
- each cape would be unique per profession(some kind of COOL image representing the profession). You have acces to your cape on every character.
Its a good idea, but if you do play PvP for 30 days, your kinda guaranteed to jump up and down in the leaderboards as they are unstable, I would raise the ranks for the rewards, but then… too many people would have it.

I agree with most of your points although I believe that making Hotjoins 5v5 as opposed to 8v8 would fix a lot. It would give players (especially new ones) a better idea on how to actually fight and retain a base as opposed to looking for the biggest group to zerg with. Also, I believe that the introduction of new game modes in sPvP would bring more players in due to the increased selection. Larger maps (20-24 players total) with dedicated mechanics or even defense-style games (2-rounds, teams switch) would definitely be interesting – at least for hotjoins.
The reason I’m not asking to force hotjoin for 5v5 is because loosing someone in 5v5 would make a 5v4 which is a HUGE difference from 7v8, and not only that but the teams in 5v5 only get filled at the mid-game which is a turn-off.

I’m not being selfish here buddy, I’m just giving my 2 cents. Its Anet’s game and not mine, if they think its better for the game to have a normal Queue replace hotjoin then that will be their decision and NOT mine.
And I don’t quite understand why that would kill the game for casual players, Normal Queue wouldn’t be as serious… you’d just get a few more points if you win… just like hotjoin. You could play with your friends and just do w/e you want, you’d still have fun since there’s no rating (No one would really care as much, and for those who DO care alot about winning would be matched with other serious players, because of the hidden MMR). The only thing Hotjoin has more than normal Queue is 8v8 (They should just make maps better balanced for 8v8 and then allow you to Queue for 8v8).

we need to focus on suggestions that brings in more players from the PvE / WvW and not further drive people from sPvP.
These are only suggestions for hotjoin and solo Queue, and why would casuals be punished by the removal of Hotjoin servers? They get a normal Queue which matches them up against players of similar skill so they always improve. Hotjoin servers are just a bad learning experience overall, I don’t think your point stands much buddy.
But I do agree that PvE/WvW players need to be brought in pronto, and this might only be accomplished by adding PvE rewards which I heard devs bring up multiple times.

Solo arena is the stain of PvP
It forces the remaining of the programers to waste a lot of time in this useless mode and fix its problems (4v5 – matchmaking – rewards – leavers – ppl that dont want to change classes – afk ) rather than perfecting faster the WvWvW and PvP , before the release in Asia and orginizing the Pax 2

Are you assuming everyone has time to make a team to Q with?
Are you assuming that players have the time for practice schedules?
Solo Q supports a wide amount of players interested into competitive play. The more populated a game is, usually is a function on how well its going to do. Even if those players don’t have teams. They spread the news and create statistics.
Everyone has opinions, Its good to express them, but attempt doing so in a way that less people could be offended.
