This change to other classes speed capabilities will most certainly spell the end for all thieves everywhere and forever. Never again will we be able to marginally outrun out an opponent. Truly a sad day for thieves everywhere. RIP.

with 680gtx , asus or gigabyte z77 mainboard and 16gb corsair vengeance which one gimme high fps on wvwvw on crowded fights but

1.i5 3570k (not overlocked) vs i7 3770k (not overlocked) vs i7 3770
2.when i5 3570k overlocked vs5 3770k overclocked vs i7 3770 ( i wanna see what it reacts against overlocked cpus)

1.i5 is fine for gaming i7 is for video editing and photoshop

Hello one and all.

I’m a member of the Isle of Janthir server.

When the game first came out, people were very violent around the jumping puzzles in WvW, some even camping at the waterfall entrance and killing the low health opponents as they dropped in.

This seems to have faded recently, but not all the way. Often when I see enemies I will stop and wave or bow in order to show my peaceful intent. Often this is met with a similar gesture, but occassionally it is met with a greatsword to the face.

We are all in the jumping puzzles for the same reason, to challenge ourselves, collect badges, or for acheivements. If we were trying to find someone to kill, we’d approach a keep or get into a zerg group.

So can we please call an “unofficial” ceasefire in all of the WvW jumping puzzles? Especially in the Obsidian Sanctum. That is a LONG puzzle, and it really sucks to get killed by enemies when you are 80-90% done of it, especially if it’s your first time going through.

I agree with the doom and gloom needing to stop… I still check the ranger forums everyday looking for news on update but I just hit lvl 42 on my ranger which is my highest level character and I feel with my condition spec I do really well in pve….havnt tried pvp really though.

I swear the ranger is the biggest gong show I have ever visited / read. The class isn’t far behind the other classes in terms of effectiveness, the only thing the class needs is a few tweaks not a complete overwork of the class. Some people already know just how powerful the class would be if the pet hit enemies while moving, I even think that would make our damage creeping over the level of being overpowered. The ranger is in the state that any little change will make it extremely powerful or slightly underpowered, which is why it’s probably worrisome for the devs to make any drastic changes suddenly.

A dev actually admitted the ranger being the most underpowered class if that clears anything up

Underwater Fortresses/Strongholds?

I had played wvw for a while and 99.99% of the fights are on land. I am surprised that none of the forts are underwater to encourage underwater combat. In future maps, I hope they add some underwater fortresses and strongholds.

2.Invisible & invulnerable players can no longer contest capture points in WvW. WvW capture points now follow the same rules as PvP capture points.

In my opinion, portal is ruining the game

My proposed changes:

1) thieves get a new ’Detect stealthed player" ability. long cooldown, works like some of the temp powers tat just leaves a trail or somesuch, tempory map marker. helps with portal bombs and stealthed players. (gives thieves something “thievy” to do)

2) Portals are limited to twice the players going through as the AoE limit. Can be traited to increase, but increased capacity increases casting time. (trating for both AoE limit and Portal capacity)

3) Portals have easily differentiated exit and entrance colors. (you can at a glance tell if it’s an incoming portal or outgoing portal)

4) Mesmers can “traceback” other teams portals, an elite skill that lets a Mesmer switch a portal direction. Effectivly closes the portal for the bomber and lets the opossing team use the portal in he other direction for half the original portals capacity. (I’m less convinced on how to make this work in a balanced way, but welcome comments)

Yay buff thieves, why not give the detect stealth players to the kitteny ranger that needs to track and hunt things?

1) Removal of the AoE cap

2) Some sort of limitation to Mesmer portals (working for party members only?)
Good idea but not only party memebers id say a .2 second cooldown to use the portal not 40 people popping up at the same time

3) Golems ability to attack keep walls.

4) Nerf X Class (this applies to all…so just fill the X with the class you hate the most).
No nerfing until they fix culling imo

The thief is not that overpowered without the culling problem
6) No more [orange] sword flags
Not good idea how are you supposed to know if theres x amount of players hitting your base

7) Buff to supply camp guards (+2 levels isn’t a worth upgrade, but making one or two of the guards champions would be much more rewarding and detrimental to rush tactics).

Yeah it needs some buff but it really stands no chance against a big zerg no matter what
8) Faster Yaks
I’d say they are fast enough you can buff it with permaswiftness if you got a party togeth

9) Slower Yaks (really? okay…)
If this is the case make the yaks carry more supply and tougher to kill
10) A reward chest at Keep/Garrison/Stonemist lord kills.

I’d say ballista is fine it’s not overpowered because theres only certain spots you can put it for the angle to be very effective and those spots can be aoed except for the tower clifftop/cragtop/dawns I hate when they put ballista on hill

Sure why not bring more people to wvw(PvErs)

14) Another jumping puzzle like EB’s.
why? do we really need less people on the battlefield

Meh waste of time to devote devs to do this they need to prioritize better things tbh like problems first rather than adding new things(FoTM)

23) Mobile squad spawn units (A mini Asuran Matter Reposition Relay [A.M.R.R.] able to deploy and destructible, something a commander can set somewhere on the map for 30 minutes, costs 1-5 gold, and allows for everyone in that squad to spawn at that point *assuming not under attack)

Hi everybody, I don’t post in this forum often enough but I need to ask you all something:

The whole point in getting exotics and legendaries is to get cool skins, right?
If Anet introduced ascended gear, why do you think that the exotics that you acquired become obselete? Can’t you transmute them into your ascended? Isn’t that what legendaries and exotics are for?

If exotics is for looks and ascended is for stats, why can’t you just have the best of both worlds and transmute the two together?

1. Exotics are not obsolete because the new ascended tier is exorbitantly overpriced it cost alot of money for the ectos and t6 mats so not everyone is going to have it
2. Yes you will be able to transmute them
Personally ima ignore ascended items and continue working on my legendary Anet will probably pull another excuse and introduce another tier of gear eventaully

And guys, i dont know how u play our rangers, but my ranger is great. I have problem only with 2 characters: mesmer and thief (who dosnt)

U said no dm: my dm with rapid fire – 8+k …. normal hit max range: 2k+
survivel: 2,6k armor … have signet of stone (6 sec immortality), have signet of renewal (all condi down) … zephyr (great burst dm with rapid fire)

i dont play sPvP, i play only WvW

You’re hitting that stuff on 80- glass cannons probably post a video if i’m wong because i’ve never seen my rapid fire hit more than 5k

Hi Everyone, recently one of my friends challenged me to try to go from level 1-80 on one life. I liked the idea of this so I am going to broadcast it live as I play through the game.

The rules:
-Once you die, you must delete the character and start over.
-Downs are allowed
-No experience may come from crafting.
-You are not allowed to fight enemies more than 4 levels below your level.
-Falling to death is still death.
-Upon death, you am allowed to liquidate the character (this is allowed since I am putting the funds towards a legendary on my main)

Rangers trying to play like warriors are bad. Rangers trying to play like they’re any other class but rangers are bad (need t3h big numberz plox).

Rangers that play like rangers are good. My view of it is that we’re not as good at straight up tanking as other classes. guardians can do that, Necros to an extent, im sure some others- but the difference is rangers can balance excellent survivability with damage, which the other bunker classes can’t even really finish off other players.
THAT is our trademark, along with imo the most offensive condition combinations. Lots of bleeding, burning, poison, chill…while other classes get weakness, and some cripple, and some blind(wow, 1 attack. cool), etc that help them but our conditions are for killing while theirs are more to mess with you. Pets also come into play here, giving you access to things supposed to be specialties for other classes (wolf’s fear, for example) or to supplement what you already do (more chill, more bleeding, more burning).

1. trait for surviability, and traps
2. kill with conditions
3. ???
4. profit

There’s fancier ways of killing, but our simple way of killing you with traps and conditions and…well pretty much just the shortbow work just fine

the problem is that our conditions
the arrows don’t hit hard and conditions are hard to stack because of rolling and obstuctions and bleeds can be so easily cleansed

Suggestion for commanders

What happens if I’m trying to rally up a zerg and I get killed as a defenceless Commander?
And secondly, I lead the charge. I’m not a stupid range or cowardly Commander who stands near the back afraid of getting a bit of muck on my shiny armour.
Its not a bloodlust, its just good business.

Oh and on the note of Commanders shouting over each other.
It simply doesn’t happen, PvE Commanders or “noobs with com” generally talkittentle and get ignored compared to the consistent WvW Commanders who everyone knows, loves and trusts.
And every half decent WvW Commander knows all the other Commanders so if you’ve got a problem it usually boils down to your guild.
I mean, if say [OBEY] guild Commander and guildies are leading a zerg then why in hell would I step in there, say as a [LOL] guild Commander, and order them about. No one does that.
And then inside my guild, the [Os] guild, we have a hierarchy anyway. Inwhich I’ll shadow the ranking Commander and reinforce his/her wishes.

Simple. Social. Understanding.

I’m not suggesting like a regular commander with just a flag and buffs
He could be like a juggernaut with lots of health and plenty of knockbacks like the guardian elite or a really loud shout that fears alot of people

As for switching from commander to non commander make the buffs attached the commander himself if he goes down or switchs out buffs go away

The cooldown on a fear skill that would mimic a normal attack skill would be lethal in WvW. And I’m a Guardian anyway, I passively heal my zerg and add might etc as I run about. I couldn’t see the benefits unless they are extreme. I can just picture people now constantly being scattered about by fear and running back and forth.. Snoooooore. Theres not fun in that.
Don’t get me wrong, its a good idea even though I’d dislike it personally. But anything Anet came up with would either ruin WvW because it would be too Overpowered or ruin the Commander rank, to which the Commanders would probably disappear and WvW would descend back into its less organised and boring state.

Well what I would do with this new “commander”
40k hp
not sure about armor/toughness
Maybe special Aura that gives special boons within range
Maybe be able to switch Aura
Red-might few stacks maybe 5?
Blue-healing 15 sec regen
Yellow-Swiftness 10 sec swiftness
Green-Idk not sure
Keep in mind these Auras aren’t going to be game changing miniscule
I’m not sure about these numbers so i’m just throwing them out there
As for the flag

  1. Smack with giant flag doesn’t do much dmg but it’s something autoattack
    #2Paint a target like target for everyone to see who to take out/what seige no cooldown
    #3Grant some swiftness for commander idk how much
    #4Loud shout that fears enemies like 3 second fear for like 30 sec cooldown idk
    #5Remove the flag/tag/boons everything he is normal player

Give commander more ultilities such as different color name in chat so it can be easier seen and Priority queue for commander and other stuff

Commander should also be changed so it is earned with like badges of honor or capturing a certain amount of objectives

Commander role should be a risk and honor to hold.

I am just rambling now and that’s why I’m putting up random sentences

If you are willing to take the role you should risk you life

Give commander more tools like maybe a seige pouch just for holding seige

Lastly if your guild knows you and will follow you and you want to fight you can do so without a commander tag. The tag is like a beacon for other people to follow

*note i’m speaking from a suggestion stance so don’t take my words literally
And i very much doubt Anet is going to impletment any of these tools anytime soon because of other issues

Suggestion for commanders

Hello Predator.

That works if the idea is for players to stay with their commanders. However when I run commander I am more traditional and fundamental in their operation. I do not accept twenty to thirty players as a zerg following me unless its a keep-strike or zone-defense.

There are a lot of things I can say about commanders as suggestions. However, I believe that if I open my mouth, every commander is going to point the finger and say “I am not guilty of X” rather than actually think about what is being said.

I rather help and support those who need and want help.

What I DO want as the commander tag itself is to be able to have four colors:

Red = Assault
Blue = Defense
Green = Cover (Floating) // Support
Yellow = Economy

Have me choose one when I activate the tag to send a message to everyone on what kind of an operation I am running. It would help greatly since it would have people follow the correct commander outside the VOIPs and other chat stuff.

That’s a great idea, but I have yet to see that many commanders on the same server often. I think it’s a great concept, but people get bored if Red commander out there kicking kitten and taking everything most if not all people will be with him while the Yellow,blue, Green commanders will be ignored. If they raised the player cap for amount of players i could see this happening but with the culling and lag I don’t see this happening

As for switching from commander to non commander make the buffs attached the commander himself if he goes down or switchs out buffs go away

If you are willing to pay 100g to get into WvW quicker, you are hardcore and probably deserve to be in there.

Well don’t you notice less people since the beginning of the game
Plus a free teleport via HoM—> LA saves you a few silver from teleporting to other cities
I would suggest a free teleport system to your home city

Although it’s unlikely to happen, but make commander not be able to fight
They should carry a giant warbanner or something and give them more ultilies such as painting targets and special “buffs” that would give people incentive to stay with their commanders

This makes commanders vulnerable and makes it a risk for them to “command”
The enemy can target the commander to kill their extra buffs
This would also solve the excessive amount of commanders that don’t really command

Extra thoughts: The warbanner can represent your guild
And personally there should be no such thing as a guildless commander
