I think the core issue with ascended gear is that it’s not available through crafting professions, dungeons or WvW. I doubt there would be half the complaints if all of the ascended pieces weren’t only available from very specific PvE content and the only other option to get them was just stupid.
And since some random Joe is gonna come here and complain about non constructive whining, here’s some suggestions:
- Add Ascended to craftables NOW. Not after 5 months.
- Add Ascended accessories to dungeons. Amulet 500 tokens, Backpiece 500 tokens, rings 250 tokens/one and earrings 200 tokens/one seems like pretty fair conversion rate.
- Add Ascended accessories to WvW NOW. Not soon™. (Okay, this might be covered by March patch). Also don’t make the badge prices stupid.
- Add Ascended items to world drops.
- Make Ascended items always be account bound so I can at least use the same piece on all my characters instead of having to grind a year (yes, I acctually counted) to get all my characters ONE stat set.
- Give me the ability to do daily and earn laurel with all my lvl x+ toons. Make it so that anyone can do one daily/account. But if you have 5 lvl 80s you can earn a laurel with each of them. There’s no reason why gearing up multiple toons should take more time than gearing up one. (Do note that I’m still willing to work 5x more than a person with only one character.)
- Decide and make a very public announcement of what you want from your game. Before release you gave the impression that maxing stats was easy and progression would mainly be about pretty skins. Now you have added ascended that has higher stats than other types of gear, yet you haven’t added any MF recipe pretty skins.
Oh yes, item that would make my soulbound items account bound would fix many of my problems with the game atm. I currently have two sets of exotic accessories just sitting in my bank due to the character they’re soulbound to using another build. At the same time I have 2 other characters to whom the stats on those 2 sets are optimal.
I also wouldn’t feel so bad about spending 100g+ on ascended backpiece if I knew I could use it on any of my characters :c
I’d love to see the ascended gear become account bound instead of soulbound. I have 4 lvl 80s and will soon starts working on 5th one, and getting 3 sets of accessories and gear and whatnot per character that is all soulbound is huge waste of time and storage. Making the ascended stuff account bound would also be the easiest solution for people with multiple characters.
I see “play your way” is almost completely ditched idea now. Not only are they encouraging people to join zerg guilds but they are also making gearing characters even more slow than it previously was. I currently have 3 lvl 80 mains, 4th is going to be lvl 80 soon and I also have a lvl 80 alt. The system in place to get exotics is perfect. I can truly play my way and still get them fairly fast. I can use my multiple characters to get more badges per day than someone with only character. And that is fair since I have put in more effort. I can even afford to get multiple sets to find THE build for me for most of my toons.
Now lets see how long it will take me to dress all my 5 lv 80s in one set of accessories (that are soulbound so I can’t even share them between my characters):
Rings: Unless getting extremely lucky 20 days x 5 = 100 days
Amulet: 35 days x 5 = 175 days
Earrings: 80 × 5 = 400 days OR 70 days if you are in a zerg guild
Anet really expecting me to spend a year just to get accessories for my characters in a game that was supposed not to have gear grind? And in that year they will release even more ascended pieces so that the time to get them goes up and up.
I am disappointed.
I’d say staff users are MUCH worse off than dagger users tho, (at least untill Final Rest is found).
If we go by Anet’s words, a group of anything should be able to do anything. So I challenge Anet to make a video of 5 condi specced necros doing Arah p4
Just kidding. But for fairness sake, if they limit the amount of damage a target can take from certain condition /second, they should also limit how much direct damage a target can take /second. There’s absolutely no reason why 5 condi necros (around 3,3k dps) should do SO much less DPS than a group of 5 direct damagers (5 * (one person’s DPS) = x).
If they want to remain in their DPS race style PvE and keep their conditions capped they should at least revamp the dungeons and fractals so that the ideal group consisted of two hybrid bleeders (condi ranger, necro…), a burner (guardian, engi, ranger…) , a poisoner DD (ranger, thief, necro…) and 2 support DDs (this is the 2 spots any class can fill). Then add tons of thoughness and blocks to bosses but lower their HP and voila, you have a game where not only 3 of 8 professions are concidered good for PvE. With these changes the PvE groups would go from 3 warriors/guardian/mesmer to necro for bleeds and epidemic + ranger/engi for burning + ranger/thief for poison + 2 of w.e dps/support builds. This would also bring some roles to PvE without bringing back trinity.
Easy playable class’s are on top ofc, but groups without necros , warriors or rangers are bad groups (zergs), these tree classes are as useful as guardian/mesmer/eles.
You’re not trying to say that warrior is hard to play are you?
As someone whose favourite classes are Ranger and Necro (and next alt to 80 will more than likely be engi) I find the current state of balancing very concerning. I do have lvl 80 ele and thief, both of which I find incredibly boring. Ever since the second week after release I’ve seen the game pushing people to roll a warrior. In fact, I don’t know many people who don’t have a warrior alt for exactly this reason.
Now about risk and reward. It’s far more risky for my ranger to go hit a mob with GS (and even more so with sword that practically roots me in place). Do either of my ranger melee weapons come even close to warrior damage when my pet is alive. No.
At the moment I feel like instead of risk = reward, it’s simple = reward. Both warrior and thief (the two concidered most unbalanced compared to everything else) only have one f-skill and tbh I don’t really see how either would get hindered too much if it was taken away. Compare to ranger*, ele and necro (maybe engi?) who would all get utterly destroyed if their f-skills were taken away.
*Now I know some ranger will come here saying his f-skills are useless. Well, all I can say to them is: " GL playing the Beast Master class without mastering the beast".
Edit:
I find the most unbalanced thing being cleave damage. Make the primary target take 100% dmg, secondary 75% and third 50% and suddenly the classes that imo were ment to be the masters of AoE (necro and ele) are perceived much better. The second unbalanced thing are the stationary bosses. An example of a better boss design are the Risen Abominations from Zo’Qafa and multiple other events. They move most of the time, are dangerous to melee BUT they do have a short duration for 100b warriors to hit them without getting killed. Another good ones are Flame Shaman from fractals, most Golem Bosses and Lieutenant Kohler.
Also, do note this post is mainly about PvE. The skills are already split between PvP and PvE and WvW is unbalanced in it’s essence so if you quote me, don’t kitten about PvP balance ty
(edited by Raege.1069)
The kitten, AC redesign? That’s the one and only dungeon that is decentish and servers it purpose (being newbie friendly). What they should be looking at is the tank and spank bosses in HoTW and CoF p1 and apparently Arah Simin path since people acctually get denied form that due to being necros or rangers >.>
There better be some kitten good fixes to the ‘lesser’ classes in this patch….
Yes, please make the mesmers clones look like the one in the art. It is a fantastic idea that would gain wide acceptance in WvWvW, at least among players who play against mesmers.
Clones should stay as clones, their point is to be identical to the player. But more nightmarish illusions would certainly be welcome.
It’s sad how these threads end up in flame wars every week…
This thread only ended up like that after IRON decided to gang on some guy who shared his experience. His experience was bad, so what? I’m sure many have had better experiences with Moorta. By ganging up on him all you achieved was worsening the image people have about your guild (ofc maybe your guild was after a bad image). There was absolutely no need to gang up on the poor guy (and afterwards Genev, who admittedly is very good at the art of forums
).
More on topic, thanks for all the fun in EB JP Elona and Viz <3
+1 OP. GW2 PvE is FAR too much about DPS. It’s so much about DPS that the more utility classes such as Ranger, Necro and Engineer often get denied from groups. Now someone may argument that getting denied from groups is problem with people not the game. Well it isn’t. You can change the game but you can’t change the people.
Now speaking as a ranger, imho my class is pretty well balanced. Sure the spirits could do with some improvement and the pets can be stupid sometimes but overall my class can do anything it’s supposed to. The problem arises when people compare my balanced class to non-balanced class such as Warrior. I remember Anet saying Warrior was the only class they’re completely happy with. That was many moons ago and yet Warrior is STILL the only class that will never get denied from a group. uhum.. Got a little sidetracked there
Back to the subject at hand. At release I was playing elementalist. Elementalist was descriped as the versatile class, so ofc when seeing hordes of mobs attack peninent and shelter (who had max 5 people, all wearing greens and yellows, doing them at the time) I used my AoE chill to help out my comrades. After that I proceed to do some supportive dmg. What happens is that by chilling the mob I saved a warriors life and then that warrior dealt so much damage to the mobs that I was not qualified for the kills. Well, at that point I thought it was just an oversight and will be fixed soon. But here I am today, reading how getting loot is STILL all about DPS race.
Since the second week after release I’ve been feeling more and more like the game is pushing me to roll warrior. It saddens me as warrior is the dullest class to play in any mmo I’ve ever played.
tl:dr
Please Anet, don’t force everyone to roll a warrior just to get groups for dungeons. Make bosses (and PvE in general) more about utility than DPS race. Also make support, control and conditions applied (as in you applied 5 stack of bleed = loot even if the mob died too fast to take much damage from them) count for loot too*.
*Necros using epidemic like this doesn’t differ much from warriors using cleave damage. But balance as you see necessary.
Edit:
This post is 100% about PvE and ofc PvP needs a completely different balancing .
(edited by Raege.1069)
Thread needs to be renamed IRON vs new guy :P
Why did you get Cleric’s set if you didn’t have build for it? ALWAYS figure out some kind of build before getting a set of gear.
Anyway, what were you planning to do in WvW? Sitting in zerg, roaming or trolling in jp? All of those have different needs and therefore slightly different builds.
I’m also having this problem. My game just randomly freezes and all I can do is ctr/alt/del. VERY annoying. Around the same time the freezes started occurring my screenshots started to get bugged too. Around 70% of time I try to take a screenshot my game goes into some kind of stutterloop that stops if I alt tab to desktop and back. All this started with the patch few days ago.
That room is an incomplete jumping puzzle. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/What-s-your-favourite-Jumping-Puzzle/page/6#post1420829
The catacombs is only one of many places where you can find gargoyles in GW1. They were also in …
Diessa Lowlands
Old Ascalon
Pockmark Flats
Regent Valley
Nolani Academy
The Great Northern Wall
The Breach
Nebo Terrace
North Kryta Province
Soundrel’s Rise
Twin Serpent Lakes
Watchtower Coast
D’Alessio Seaboard
Divinity Coast
Gates of KrytaI think the name in the PvP locker is a red herring. The PvP locker is full of things with the wrong name.
However if you are hellbent on the gargoyle + catacomb + final resting place idea. How about http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Battle_in_the_Vault ?
- takes place in an underground burial chamber which is basically what a catacomb is
- not far from one of the GW1 habitats for gargoyles
- seems to be the final resting place of 5 GW1 NPCs, 4 of which you have to fight
- last one to be fought is a crazy staff user
- spawns a chest at the end, not a dragon size chest but it could certainly be described as largeBiggest problem is that it doesn’t seem remotely close to being a rare event.
Mergoyles!
Anyway my theory of why AC and not someplace else was because
a) Gagroyles disappeared overnight. Maybe they went deep into the catacombs where no human or charr has stepped for years.
b) The other catacombs is very bland compared to the AC secret room.
c) secret room at the end of a dungeon would have made sense for a rare boss.
d) “It is said that if Magdaer or Sohothin returns to Ascalon City in the hands of an heir of King Doric , then the spirits of the Ascalonian ghosts will be put to rest.”
“It is believed that if either this sword or its twin returns to the haunted remains of Ascalon City in the hands of the rightful king of Ascalon, the ghosts there will finally be laid to rest.”
So some hidden stuffs to put a rare boss to his Final Rest could have made sense
PS. Anet, if you someday decide to finish that jumping puzzle please do make an interesting boss fight with dodgeable knockbacks there.
Anyway, I guess that room has been ruled out now :c
BUT
was it ever said it’s from a chest from an event chain? Maybe there’s a rare non-event boss somewhere who has a small chance of dropping a key to some hidden chest that… ok maybe a bit too complicated
I just remembered this old thread http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/69796-strange-occurrence-in-divinitys-reach-graveyard/
It happens in a graveyard and is a very mysterious rarish occurrence. While it basically has nothing to do with gargoyles it’s been said there’s some odd noises coming from te great collapse
(edited by Raege.1069)
Could this item be somehow related to the Scepter of Orr and Vizier Khilbron?
You know…there IS a boss at the top of the Vizier’s tower…
Any idea/source on what triggers this boss? Does he leave a chest?
I was planning to go back to that tower this evening, it has always puzzled me. Lots of lore on top and nothing to do with it…
I wouldn’t call that a large boss tho. And the chest typical tiny Orr one.
I just did the barradin chain and it has a splendid chest and other smaller chest. But it was soloable as a lvl 80 so I doubt that’s it.
However I just saw this thread on reddit and I’m guessing the staff is from a hidden boss like this (somewhere in Ascalon as it IS called Gargoyle Staff in the PvP locker).
The post he’s referring to is in this thread (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Final-Rest-Current-Theories/page/2#post1368055), but it’s not a direct quote of a dev. It’s some guy claiming that he talked to a dev. He failed to provide screenshots however.
I am going to be severely disappointed if the dropping place of this staff has nothing to do with gargoyles :<
(edited by Raege.1069)
If it’s been stated it’s in open world, why is that not in the “Official responses” section, I’d like to see a source. All I’ve ever seen mentioned is that it’s from a rare large boss chest.
PS. This thread is better
Edit: Okay read closer and the AC theory has been proposed a couple of times. Still don’t see a proper source for open world only tho. If I was after this staff I’d start checking the secret room after them AC money runs :P
(edited by Raege.1069)
Posting this here too since I’m not sure which thread is the “main” one.
This might have been suggested before (and sorry if it is but I didn’t see any mentions of anything but Orr when I quick-read all the threads I found), but it might a rare boss that spawns in the secret room near Rumblus etc in AC. It would make sense* and since barely anyone ever checks that room it would also explain why it’s still not known.
*Why it would make sense:
- Gargoyles were habitants of Ascalon untill they mysteriously disappeared in 1185 AE. The staff is called Gargoyle staff in PvP locker and has a statue of a gargoyle in it.
- AC = Ascalonian CATACOMBS. And what was the favourite place of Gargoyles in pre-searing (which is the state ascalon has returned in for GW2), well, the Catacombs ofcourse.
- There’s tons of secret rooms in GW2 BUT afaik every other room has something like kittens or turkeys in it, This one is empty.
- The room looks like it’s designed for a boss fight. So unless Anet suddenly decided to cut a boss from the dungeon, it’s quite likely there could be a rare spawn there.
Has anyone concidered that it might a rare boss that spawns in the secret room near Rumblus etc in AC. It would make sense* and since barely anyone ever checks that room it would also explain why it’s still not known.

Because it’s not a seasonal recipe. It’s just an added stat-set to the old recipes, and since all the other common crafted exotics use pearl skin, ofcourse the Giver’s ones do too.
Seems like this week’s WvW will be even more boring than the last 4-5 weeks. With Arb and Viz we at least had some nice smaller scale fights. SFR seems to be all about blobs. Then again, it seems WvW was designed to be boring in the long run. Oh well guess we’ll see if it acctually gets improved in February and how many WvWrs there are left in the game at that point.
@Same. I get the image you didn’t quite get what the scenario others were talking about was. Afaik no one said 10 vs 30 was a definite win if the 10 attacked head on and the 30 a) paid attention b) had +50% non pugs. Acctually, no one said 10 vs 30 was ever a definite win. But arguing that it NEVER happens is just ridiculous. Also yeah, sure, maybe some of the 10 vs 30 scenarios are acctually 27 vs 11 or w.e but that’s not such a huge difference is it.
Let’s say There’s 30 pugs attacking a keep gate. 10 organized people see them. Approx half of the 30 pugs are dead or downed by the time all of them have realized they’re under attack. At that point lets’ say there’s 17 pugs left. Now of those 17 pugs 7 are undergeared/underlvld and die in the next few seconds. There’s 10 left. Surprised pug of 10 vs 8-10 organized players who are heavily buffed (maybe some at 50% HP), who do you think wins? I’ve been in a plenty of fights like this, sometimes you win and sometimes you die. But it is NOT impossible.
Your math is flawed because you forget human thoughts ‘lag’, reaction speeds vary, the amount of CC in both teams vary and there’s always those zombie PUs who don’t pay too much attention to what’s happening around them.
We need account bound lodestones availble for 5k Karma each…PLEASE.
Yes please. Would finally give something to use the huge amounts of karma on for those who are more interested in the non-legendary skins than the legendary ones
To be fair, those monkeys would likely end up taking each other out by accident, in GW2 that isn’t really possible :p
Friendly fire in GW2. Now that would be… interesting
The funny thing is that the Nov 15th fix acctually made WvW give loads more loot, esspecially rares and exotics. It’s almost as if they made the old WvW loot code work in PvE and vice versa. If they do something to adjust the drops more, I seriously hope they wont take away the new amazing WvW loot.
I’d seriously suggest you take a break from the game, your current lifestyle doesn’t sound healthy at all :o
But yes, over the weeks I’ve seen more and more WvWrs quitting, taking breaks and playing less because there’s really no long term point or goal in WvWing. Then there’s the culling issues, unfixed bugs, limited builds each class can run and disparity in gear, achievements and currency (altho the last one has been somewhat fixed since Nov 15th patch) acquirable in WvW and PvE. I’m afraid February patch will quite likely be too little too late.
Pets do die a lot in WvW, not so much in PvE, and they are hard to maintain when there is a lot going on around you. Last night playing WvW I kept on having to stop doing what I was doing to call my pet back because he would insist, let me repeat that, he would INSIST CONSTANTLY, into running towards ALL of the area effects in front of him. It really sucks that 40% of my damage want’s to kill itself and leave me defenseless. Yea, I think until they fix all the issues with pets, they need to introduce something like this to help.
In WvW, I usually have my pet on passive so he wont zerg of to the AoEs, and only order him to attack if I need to keep someone from ressing themselves or there’s a target I know I’ll be attacking for a while. I don’t think they can really make pet’s work better in large scale WvW, which is why I think rangers should get buffed when the pet is dead.
Technically they DO have to trait into attunement swap. Ele is trash without attunement swap boons and the lower cooldown on swaps.
Yeah well, elementalist attunements don’t have trouble with moving targets and bad AI either
Everytime this comes up, I can never quite figure out how “My pet dies alot in dungeons” leads to “I should get a buff when it dies” as opposed to “We should make it die less often in dungeons”.
Most likely because giving us a new buff is much easier than fixing the AI which they have tried to fix since BWE1. If it was just dungeons they could go and make pets invulnerable to boss damage but they can’t really do that for sPvP and WvW
Pets are pretty tough to kill if you trait into them to be honest. With natural regen and the regen signet, even my birds basically never die.
Well, I haven’t really tried a pet focused build as the traits in that tree aren’t to my liking. But it’s not really right for our mechanic to only be working when traited. I raise Ele as an example again as that is what my main was untill I rolled a ranger. An ele doesn’t have to put 30 points in Arcana to have their attunement switches work. Not to mention I doubt Anet intented every ranger to have to trait in pets to make it usefull. Esspecially since they made us rely on them so much damagewise. That is not to say pet’s aren’t usefull. I acctually enjoy mine quite a lot despite it’s flaws, but they aren’t quite where they should be.
That’s actually not a bad idea for a grandmaster trait or something. 50% damage increase when pet is deceased.
I think it should be default. Elementalist who doesn’t use their class mechanic (switch their attunements) is bad. So I find it unfair that we rangers are unable to use our mechanic in many situations and there’s nothing we can really do about it because we can’t really stop the pet from dying.
I highly doubt they let us get rid of our unique class mechanic. But as I suggested in my suggestion thread I do think we should get a buff when our pet is dead. No other class has their unique mechanic die and become useless after all. Our pet dying is like Necro Death Shroud having 30 min CD or Elementalist attunements 5 min CD.
As a ranger from GW1 I’ve been highly disappointed at the lack of utility of the GW2 version. Instead of the wanderer of the wilds with many tricks in their pockets we have become novice boyscouts. It also saddens me that you seem to have given many of our GW1 tools (such as preparations) to the Thief (and iirc you also said somethign like that in the ‘Making Of’ book).
Pets
- Now I know that the ranger him/herself is somewhat nerfed due to having a pet doing damage but let’s face the truth. With a moving target the pet rarely hits and most of the pets die incredibly fast in AoE filled environment such as WvW. No other class has their special class mechanic just die in random AoE. What I suggest is to have the ranger get a buff while their pet is dead. The buff should provide some extra power and thoughness, the ranger lost their beloved pet after all and are now determined to kill the murderer of their best friend.
- Make the pet attacks work like 1h sword #1 chain. As in, the skills are excellent for chasing down a target as they move the pet with the target doing damage at the same time. Easy way to fix one of the biggest problems with pets
- If the ranger is stealthed, the pet should automatically be stealthed too (if you concider ‘pet backstab’ unbalanced make the pet lose stealth when it’s commanded to attack) OR make the pet stay hidden unless I push the ‘hide pet’ button again, not auto-appear in combat.
- Make pet swapping auto-castable. Warriors can auto-spam their ‘For Great Justice!’, why can’t we autocast our petswap. It may not be significant but it’s something I personally would greatly appreciate.
- Make me able to assign a key for ‘stow pet’, and make the pet stay stowed untill I press the button again.
Greatsword
- Slightly increase the base damage of #1 combo. But only slightly as it is quite fine as it is imo.
- Remove the self-rooting of Crippling Throw. Since the purpose of using that skill would most likely be to cripple the foe to catch him I find rooting youself highly counterproductive. Or alternatively make it knockdown the foe, would make sense as the foe gets a huge sword in his/her back
Longbow
- Skill #1: Remove the 0-500 range damage and make the 500-1000 damage work on 0-500 range too. Also buff the base damage.
Axe – Mainhand
- Slightly buff the base damage of all the skills.
Axe – Offhand
- Whirling Defence usable when moving. Getting self-rooted is annoying and as far as I know this is the ONLY whirling skill in the game that roots the user. Not to mention this is one of the few high damage skills a ranger has.
Shouts
- Remove them and instead give us some usefull skills. For example:
1. Smoke Trap: trap Blinds foes in pulses and creates a smoke field.
2. Throw Dirt: survival Blind and Daze foes around you.
3. Call of Protection: survival You and your pet receive stability and protection for x seconds.
(other cools skills that I’d love to see in GW2 version fo ranger in one way or another: Tranquility, Edge of Extinction, Pestilence)
Spirits
- Remove the internal CD and buff the health of spirits a little. Since the spirits are squishy as kitten, they should be pretty powerfull
OR
keep a short internal CD (2-3 s) but make the spirits work like Guardian’s Spirit Weapons. As in, they die if you use the active skill (unless traited) but cannot be attacked by enemies.
- I’m not completely sure how the internal cd works atm but it should only affect the person who got the buff. As in, if player A got the buff, he should now be unable to gain it for next x seconds but Player B, C, D and E should still be able to gain it untill their personal CD.
Signets
- Buff the passive effects and make the active ones work on the rangers automatically. Having to use trait for such thing is just weird.
Downed Skills
- Make #4 work. As it is it doesn’t do anything most of the time.
PS. Please give us a Hammer in future
(edited by Raege.1069)
I was really optimistic about this patch despite really disliking the new ascented gear. I was hoping this would finally be THE patch to fix at least some of my problem with the game. But now seeing the patch notes I’m just disappointed.
- Removing another viable build from ele.
- ‘significant’ ranger fixes… just lol
- Culling didn’t get fixed.
- Orbs and dolyak rewards didn’t get fixed.
- I still feel like the game is forcing me to roll a warrior.
- WvW still remains as the only part of the game that has received zero new content.
Edit: Also, whatever happened to ‘when it’s ready’. I was expecting a high quality game with the major bugs and problems fixed by now.
(edited by Raege.1069)
You know, it goes both ways. Personally I’ve seen nothing but more or less passive agressive behaviour towards the ex-GH guilds. Also, CIR, ThUn and DkR were part of the core of GH even before release through The Initiative. Sure, now you have new core (part of which originates from the old core), but that doesn’t mean the old one never existed
On topic: Did this really need two threads lol
Well I am from BT and if you have as bad culling issues as I had Friday night I think it may hinder you a little:
http://i.minus.com/iMeLvrdRSgusF.jpg
http://i.minus.com/i1Qdra4M3h2W4.jpg
That’s right I couldn’t see the 6-7 allies in front of me, enemies or MYSELF!
Everybody knew WvW was a 24/7 battle but A.Net announced two ladders, EU and NA. We’re not talking about nightcaping but about full NA guilds moving to EU servers and unbalancing forces.
I guess EU guilds should transfer to NA servers, do some PvDoors and farm karma there. I wonder how NA guilds would react seeing all their efforts reduced to zero by a bunch of europeans in only one hour
We (BT) have no Americans tho, and yet I see whining about 24/7 battles in this thread too ^^
It’s not like Anet forced every German to roll on a [DE] server. Those who rolled on a language specific server did so knowing WvW is a 24/7 battle, so I don’t really get why you keep whining about it. Don’t like it? Well, free transfers are still on.
My question is. Has Anet thought about how this is affecting WvWrs? WvW, in my experience, almost never drops any of T6 mats (or anything else that is needed for Legendary), which are now rising in price rapidly. I’m in a WvW guild and I already see some of our members farming Orr instead of WvWing because it’s simply impossible to afford a legendary as a WvW player if you want it in less than a year. How about making us able to buy ectos and t6 mats with Badges of Honor or something?
Banning bots is good, making people who don’t PvE farm 24/7 be in huge economical disadvantage is not.
Far Shiverpeaks have some of the top WvW guilds in EU
This made me laugh. Last night, EU prime time, Blacktide was averaging between 90/110 points and STILL these “top EU guilds” on FS were being slapped around by what little players we had online (No queues for any WvW maps was crazy!)
I don’t know if you all had a bad day, at once, at the same time, but the only server causing us real problems is Elona, and in my honest opinion, FS is completely overrated and the above quote proves it.
Sorry … I must play an other match this week.
In EU-Primetime (CET between 6 pm to 11 pm) Blacktide fall back to 100 – 150 points per tick.
Far Shiverpeak and Elona Reach lead the points per tick table. And yes in EU primetime Far Shiverpeak has some awesome WvW-guilds like the guilds with the alliance-tag GF.
Because points are everything, esspecially when the other server is severely outnumbered (do note that I’m not agreeing with Steb either) ^^
Anyway nice fights from both servers, had a blast. T2 is definitely completely different league than T3
