This one is for the devs!
In the Graphics Options, when setting Shaders to High, there seems to be some kind of light source added to the characters. However, this light source is constantly coming from the right and it moves with the camera, rather than coming from a set ambiant light source (the sun/moon).
Is this intended?
A ready button?
So, instead of allowing people to screw you over by leaving the match early (or not join at all), you’d rather let them prevent the match from starting altogether until everyone else has left?
No thanks.
Give spells a redish hue?
if(match.getTeam(spell.owner.id) != match.getTeam(player.id)) {
spell.texture.setRGBFilter(255, 128, 128);
}
Done.
Ask the people in charge if it’s alright to make that change?
Yeah, that might take six months.
Most engineers I encounter in Team Arena are all the same: since turrets are immune to conditions (for some reason), they spawn seven of them around on a capture point and build themselves against direct damage.
That way, condition damage dealers die because they can’t destroy the turrets, and direct damage dealers die because they can’t kill the engineer.
Yes.
Guild Wars 2 has a lot to offer, especially considering what it costs, and the developers are still working hard on the game and most likely will for a long time.
ArenaNet released a feature pack not too long ago, which reminded a lot of people to go complain on the forums that it wasn’t a content pack. Then again, you’ll probably find that a lot of players on these forums complaining that more dungeons aren’t being outputted faster than they can play through them.
As of right now, we’re still kind of in post-patch adjustment & bug fixing time so there might be a few issues, but those are undoubtedly being worked on, and we’ll continue seeing changes in the weeks to come.
Either way, this game is definitely worth getting into. I know I’ve been having a ton of fun playing the game for two years now, and that’s what’s important. Besides, no other MMORPG I’ve heard of has ever come close to having as much diversity as Guild Wars 2 has to offer, or at least, not for free.
Solo Arena and Team Arena both have team selection and spectating disabled, and penalize quitters. I highly recommend you try Arena out now that it is free to play.
Hotjoin, as of now, is only used for testing builds. It is unclear whether that is intended.
In hotjoin, auto-balance volunteers always get win rewards, no matter the outcome. You might want to start clicking that volunteer button.
Gather up some friends and join Team Arena. Not only will you get three times the rewards you get in hotjoin, but you’ll never have to see Spirit Watch nor Skyhammer ever again!
Playing on your own is just asking for trouble, though; friends usually are what makes it worthwhile. Besides, it’s hard for the developers to make the game experience better when the players are doing everything in their power to make it as bad as possible.
I seem to encounter a similar issue.
I have Harmonious Mantras traited, and when I charge up my mantras, I get my 3 charges. I don’t know what exactly causes it (it does not happen on downed like OP), but I very often randomly go from 3 charges to 2 charges on all my charged mantras. This makes the trait very unreliable and worthless.
I think it has something to do with entering and exiting combat, but I’m not sure yet. It only seems to happen after a few minutes of charging up the mantras. I’ll post more details if I ever figure it out, but this is definitely a bug and should be looked into.
That’s right and i want to add: do you know why female asura share the same model as male asura?
This is because of Age Limit on games (every game is monitored for content by PEGI, or ESRB (for NA)) and to make female asura with a prominent breast will make the game “for adults only” or even risking sanctions because asuras are like “kids” and there are some limitation to kids related things in videogames…
Or, simply because not every fantasy creature has to have primate breasts and be hypersexualized for it. Charr also wear unisex armor, and they do not look like human children at all (not that asura do, either).
Asura females share most of the same armor models with the males because the human/norn/sylvari female versions are usually adapted for their prominent primate breasts. Since asura do not have those, the vast majority of female armor models would look awkward on them.
The Ancestral Outfit is a good example. It uses the female model on asura females, and we get this useless, out of place “boob window” on the chest that really shouldn’t be there.
Besides, as already mentioned previously, asura do not share the same concept of “sexiness” as humans do. Larger ears are your best bets when it comes to asuran physical attraction, along with a big head for a big brain. Asura will certainly choose a smarter partner over a good-looking one anytime; in the society they live in, intellect is what matters the most.
I, for one, think asura should continue wearing unisex armor. They just look better, and I really don’t want to see my mesmer in an ugly froo-froo skirt.
balticdragon, there’s been absolutely no improvement whatsoever since April. Megaservers are still absolutely broken, confusing and unfriendly, and a severe nuisance to not only roleplayers, but anyone who wants to organize a large-scale event (including guilds). We have yet to hear word from ArenaNet on the matter.
When trying to play a musical instrument around a fair amount of players, some notes cannot be heard.
I assume it is caused by the audience’s idle animation sounds, and the client’s seemingly low limit of sounds that can be played at one time.
While this makes listening to other players’ songs merely awkward, it can make playing a musical instrument very confusing and difficult (since you can’t even hear your own notes), and playing a duet with a friend virtually impossible.
The issue is client side, as for one song, the notes heard and unheard by different players are not the same.
Would it be possible to have an audio option to select the number of sounds that can be played at one time?
Thanks in advance, and keep up to the good work!
Megaservers are extremely confusing, the algorithm is obviously broken, and the whole system is seriously damaging my gameplay experience as a whole.
Players require to be able to view and select on which instance of the map they play on.
Please, for the sake of keeping this game enjoyable, put this issue on highest priority.
That’s the only explanation I could come up with. What else could it be?
From what I understand, megaservers use an algorithm to determine on which “channel” (let’s call them that) players best fit, depending on their home world, guild, friends, and other variables, so that they can play with people they know. However, I keep getting thrown on channels at complete random!
It simply doesn’t matter on which channel my friends, my guild or even my own party members are, since nearly four time out of five, I am on the wrong channel. It’s even happened more than once that my party members were spread out on three different channels after a single map transition! What’s up with that?
I sometimes try relogging to join friends and guild members who are all on the same channel (instead of creating a party with one of them and using the “Join in…” option), and I sometimes go through three or four other different channels before landing on theirs, and even then, it takes umpteen tries to get there. The pattern seems to be completely random, too (e.g. 1, 2, 3, 2, 3, 3, 3, 1, 2, 1, 3, 2, 2, 4).
As of right now, megaservers are extremely confusing. The game tells you on which map your friends and guild mates are, but chances are you’ll never find them there because the game does not indicate when they are on a different channel in any way. I even sometimes forget about it and wonder why I can’t see my party members when I seem to be standing on top of them on my minimap!
The solution? Simple! Take example on the original Guild Wars and let us see on which channel we currently are, and let us select on which channel we want to play. No more confusion, no more restriction, and no more complaints!
Oh, and add an extra channel for roleplayers, and everyone couldn’t be happier!
This issue has been resolved. Thanks a lot and stay awesome!
Boop!
As of April 10th 2014, this issue remains unresolved. I like the drum, though!
Keep up the good work!
Lunacy Solacio, that’s been the case before the March 18th patch. It’s unrelated to the current bug, so I’d say it needs its own post. It happens a lot to me and can be rather confusing at times!
While I’m at it, I’d like to clarify a little detail to help reproduce the bug: it only occur after an approximately 1 second pause between two notes. If you try playing the same note repeatedly slower and slower, it is bound to eventually happen.
On a side note, there’s been an issue with the Flute for as long as I can remember. If you play the flute continuously for a while, the playing animation will eventually end and shift into the combat stance animation, even if you keep playing. I think it’s related to the auto-sheathe weapons feature, which I really wish was optional! I’d really appreciate the flute more if the animation didn’t end prematurely!
Thanks a lot and keep up the good work, I can’t wait for more musical instruments to hit the Black Lion market! (Maybe a cheap percussion instrument for people to play along?)
There’s always been some kind of short delay on the first note you play with the Musical Harp. For convenience’s sake, I’m going to call this the FND (First Note Delay).
Since last patch (March 18th 2014), I’ve been having issues with the Musical Harp. When I’m in the middle of playing a song, I suddenly get an FND.
From what I understand, any time there’s a pause in one of my songs, the next note I play will “break the stream” and put me back in combat animation (instead of the harp playing animation), and the next note will have an FND.
Usually, when I stop playing for two seconds or so, the character smoothly leaves the playing animation and enters the combat animation. When the bug occurs, the character suddenly jerks into combat animation without the transition animation.
It’s been impossible for me to play any slow-paced songs, or any song with pauses in them at all since last patch.
Thanks in advance!
