My guild and I ran our first dungeon together after we all got past lvl 30. The catacombs, which I read is a pain in the butt for a first dungeon. We did it tho, defeated all the bosses and got …. Nothing useful? No tokens, no influence for our guild, and a crappy rare from the end boss that luckily matched our respective armor types but with stats. we did not want.
So few questions I need answered please.
Does story mode not drop tokens? Would seem like a waste of time imo.
I thought I remembered ANet stating that players would all get something they want as a reward for completing the dungeon? After 3 hours I got nothing I want.
Furthermore I think story mode is broken. Everyone got the initial story cutscene but after that the only one getting the cutscenes was me. So I skipped the cutscenes since no one else was seeing them. Therefore I have no clue what the story was about.
How much influence are you suppose to get for a full guild run?
You get the same amount of guild influence as completely any other dungeon. Remember influence is given in chunks. I am not sure how often because in my guild I’ve seen it given every 15/30/60 min as well as some random amounts of time.
Sometimes the cut scenes bug. Just bug report it.
Story mode is intended for just that story. To see the story between Destiny’s Edge’s members.
I love how arena net keeps coming on here and telling us that their test team has no problems clearing their dungeons and finds it a fun experience. I happen to agree with you OP, they did not test these dungeons at all. What released was a product with a solid PvP experience, solid leveling experience and half finished dungeons in a alpha state. I would have rather they only released with 4 dungeons and waited 3 months till the rest rolled out as long as they were quality. I normally would be the kind of player to really enjoy these instances, but my experience usually is summed up by the OP.
Then there be even more complaining about nothing to do at 80. Since you know people CHOOSE to speed farm and complain about grindyness after there 20th speed run of the day.

I don’t know if anyone here ever played Eq2 back before it was free and level cap was 85.
Some of those dungeons where hard and required effort and coordination. I would once in a blue moon pug one of the harder ones.
The loot wasn’t better then raid gear. I did it because they were hard and I enjoyed them because they were hard.
It will take me months to get an of my “skin” armor. I do not run 100 dungeons runs a day, I do Story modes with guildies that need it and a few Explorer runs and that’s about it.
This game is as “Grindy” as you make it.
I love the dungeons especially with the dodge aspect that many current MMO’s lack. it adds another element to the game.
As for being expensive? Hardly. I have yet to be negative coin in take from a dungeon.
Your just not used to having to actually move and coordinate in a dungeon versus standing in one spot spamming your attacks.
Does Anet have one of these?
It seems like they do no prior testing before releasing patches. fix one thing break another.
As I never have completed an Arah explorer I can’t tell you. No one wanted to every do an entire path.
If your quest log says you need to keep going or kill someone else then I’d say you aren’t done.
Did you read the patch notes?
You only get tokens at the end after your complete the entire explorer path.
Yes any word on this? I did a few runs and felt skipping most everything and farming 2 mobs and resetting the zone is an exploit. I stopped after 3 different parties did it.
They need to fix it so you can’t jump over the wall at all and need to actually do thekittendungeon.

Just finished my entire story. I love how you help him complete his Wyld Hunt and your there with him and usually doing all the work for him the entire time. Then it’s time to complete yours and he’s nowhere to be found.
You dashed my hopes. I was hoping for a bunch of posted videos of your experience playing the game while drunk on wine.
The way it was before was broken in my opinion. lets run through a zone in 20 minutes and gain half a level off it.
The only thing that is somewhat annoying on it now is the knockback. It seems the Cutpurse/Warriors can knock back and down every 3 seconds.
Other then that me and my guild group never really wipe. There is an occasional death due to a crit from a Sniper.

I am looking for a formula that can tell you how much dmg is being added to your conditions with each point of condition damage.
Example: My Necro has 876 condition dmg.
Now my bleeds are definitely not doing 876 a tick. There a way to convert that number into the actual amount of damage added to my conditions?
The same goes for Healing Power.

Perhaps the seed are influenced by those who plant them. If the are good then the tree born and Sylvari are inherently good. ( Tho that doesn’t explain the Nightmare Court very well)

What says the Pale tree has to be the first one. As stated there is a lot of area not discovered or that has yet to be discovered.
Who says there aren’t Sylvari on different continents. Perhaps there are many pale trees there just seems to be one on Tyria (tho story says there are 2 possibly even more).
What if the Pale Tree is Mother Nature herself or all the good in the world and her offspring are destined to slay the Dragons and rid the world of evil?
I mean we can throw theory after theory but I’d personally rather wait for more expansion and find out that way.

Seen him do warrior skills but yes 90% of the time he just derps around.
He is classified as a necro. I don’t think I have ever seen him do a Single necro skill. Correct me if I’m wrong though.
Doesn’t the Pale tree say the only weapon she has ever made was Caladbolg? And it took a lot of energy to make.
In that sense I don’t think Sylvari weapons come from the pale tree. I could be wrong though. They could be made from dead branches maybe?

jute is ungettable. I’ve got a level 30+ toon who can’t go outside of level 10 areas or kill anything ut a humanoid because if it doesn;t drop jute it isn’t worth fighting. Spent an entire afternoo, got 2 jute.

Try making a level 1 and going to the same area. Worked for me for Jute better then killing in that are on my 80.
My druid has done 3 things:
A) Stood there
B) Despawned by the time it reached a mob (stood there for awhile as I fought face to face)
C) Stood there did nothing and died
So I am not sure if it does anything.

I never had any issue with this. I was annoyed Trahearne didn’t help me and stood outside but it worked perfectly fine for me.
Aggro is very sparatic. But yes it could be because they just fine you horrible to look at.
Everyone always seem to forgot. A good MAJORITY of RPG’s and some MMO’s Dwarves are either extinct, dying or have very few left.
I think it’s a female bug? I played with my sylvari’s iris size and his eyes aren’t bugged.
Well in the description of the Sylvari they are more tree like then plant like. Leaves for hair wood for bones, chlorophyll for blood (even tho thats more plant).
Have more flower parts doesn’t seem right to me since they literally are born of a tree.
It’s called “lazy” eye. Hit your self on the side of a face with a shovel. Should pop it back into place, or at least make it so you might have 2 lazy eyes.
I see tons of Post about whiny people complaining about how hard the dungeons are.
I Love that they are a challenge. That they require teamwork strategy. I love how I don’t just stand there and shoot or attack a mob and have to constantly be moving.
Please post here is you love or like the dungeons and think they are fine just how they are
(Yes I’m 80 no I don’t have 100% exotic and yes I’ve done them all even explorable)
The first time I did AC was at 35. It was everyone first time. We died many times, but in the process learned how to do the mobs. We completed it.
I took my guildies in the day and still died a bunch but a lot less.
Anyone that says dodging is pointless is wrong. I have been saved many times by dodging out of AOE attacks.
Explorable is harder but still fun. I don’t mind dieing.
The BIG difference between GW2 and lets say WoW is if you die more then once your likely to be booted on the spot.
There is a challenge to these dungeons, you have to constantly move, you have to dodge, you have to actually use a strategy and just not stand there and spam damage as one person tanks.
I mainly use them when out in a zone exploring but I rarely use them in dungeons. If I use one it either one of my other elite minions (sylvari) or the Flesh golem.
To the guy who said about power build: Necro can’t run power build, since they lack of damage also when you are fully specced in Power/Critical damage compared to the other professions. So, who needs trait useful to a build that anyway you won’t use?
Have you tried Power/Precision wells? It makes them hurt a LOT more than you would think.
I use a power condition damage necro. I do tons of damage. POWER also adds to healing, so 5% power add to heals is great. Many of our spells combo themselves. Yes I agree some traits are not as greatas others but they aren’t worthless just have to know how to take advantage of them.
Has any else had this issue of your minions either not attacking at all, attacking and then stopping mid fight, or running off and aggroing mobs you don’t even have targeted let alone attacked?
It only seems to be an issue in zones and not in dungeons.
I have issue with the flesh golem deciding to just go attack things without my consent. But I think this is an issue with necro minions.
