I haven’t always played your game constantly, but I did play it for a long time after release, and the HoT announcement brought me crawling back. That’s because though I got bored at times I believe that the mechanics of your game are still fun and can create entertaining content, plus I can’t resist a game whose content focuses on game lore.
One of the best things I heard from HoTs announcement is new <Legendary Weapons, with questlines to get Precursors (the one reason I never obtained a Legendary in the game currently), so to make sure this feature is perfect, I appeal to you…….

PLEASE DON’T MAKE THE WEAPON MODELS GIMMICKy AGAIN

Compared to games like TERA, WOW and Wildstar, I believe that GW2s art style is definitely more “earthy”, focusing on detail and somewhat realism against stylization (hence why half of your equipment models look like plain old armor), because of this disco balls, unicorns and confetti pistols simply don’t fit.
I’m not saying there’s no humour in the game, or that you can’t have humour, I just believe the tone you yourselves have set for GW2 is better suited for action and drama first and humour second.

And I also believe this sort of style takes away from the sense of empowerment players should feel by having them, I believe that they want to show off to others how dedicated and skilled they are for taking the time to make the weapon by looking distinct and kitten, not goofy.

Please ArenaNet, leave the gimmicky styles in the Gem Store for the eccentrics who will buy them, and focus on making Legendary weapons look not only distinct, but kitten, and fitting with the tone GW2 is trying to set. I’m pretty sure that you’ll make a lot of people happy

A warrior is a warrior against all odds, strip me from my strenght, my weapons, my armor, knock my will to the ground, mock me, laught at me, nerf me, but i’ll never give ONE step back even if shivering in fear… I’ll face my oponent(s) even if certain death awaits me…. and you wont see me crying over what I chose to be.

indeed warrior seems to be the most difficult to come up with… I cant really tell or figure whats coming. Some ppl talked about torch, though its simply an off-hand and reminds more a raider (thief variant in other titles), setting enemies on fire from a distance.

I would love to dual wield pistols yeah, but I see it mostly as a personal fantasy than anything else… jungle is about survival, and nowadays whats a soldier ultimate companion for any situation (real life comparisson)?… a military knife, a short blade for desperate times… a dagger.

For me thats the most logical weapon, since spears are sadly out of the table which are probably the most survival like weapon, since it can be made from a simple wood stick… but hey! you always need a dagger to shape it right?

From Champion to Legendary lets not diminish their mysticism…. I think I’ve just set a new personal goal!

I see a lot of comparisson about whom invented what, trying to measure your strenghs. Humans invented the gas propeled ballon, but do you even realize that thanks to the pact, every nation as that knowledge already?

And all humans behave as expected, trying to wage war out of wounded pride. The world prospers with all races united and yet humans here fail to see and to accept.
This arrogance, this refusal to move forward might aswell be your undoing.

The Charr wont be alone anymore. The other races hold no grudge against us, and we are not the ones thinking of violating the pact.

The Charr have socially and economically evolved way to fast for your understanding.
Every lore master is tied to the past and fails see the present.

So… you better stick your squishy noses in your land and accept you no longer represent neither supremacy nor a war threat. The only threat you represent with all this way of thinking, is your own standing within the pact.

If there was no Charr I wouldn´t be playing GW2, period.
The only other race that I like (now that I’m playing :p) is Sylvari and Asura.

I’m not sure if this question as been posted before, but I cant find a concrete answer to my doubt.

Lets suppose I have transmuted my ascended GS into another GS skin, lets say Dhuumseal, pre 15 April patch.
When this patch goes live will both my ascended skin and Dhuumseal skin be available in the wardrobe or will I lose the original ascended look?

I strongly support this request.

I’m not a big fan of shinnies and sparkles effects, could be worse if you were using fire (I cant spot thinking what a real pain it would be to use ar armor in flames… makes no sense even in fantasy as I see it (dont get me wrong I’m a huge fan of fantasy, LOTR, Game of thrones and a lot more).

I would suggest giving it more life in the colours and I do congratulate you for not using the “easy colours” such as Abyss and celestial. Try mixing a bit, just imagine what a true armor would look like.

Even though the guardian really is a magical warrior so it hurts me less to see effects on armor.

Dont get mad at me if another player would be next, instead of me you would prob get 9/10.

They really don’t care, much was evident five months ago in the live panel where they say they pay more attention to human and norn problems cause there is more of them. So its, make it look good on the races people play the most of and kitten the other races.

Sadly this is true… even though in my opinion, its a sad statment since more and more we see ppl that love Charr and just dont play it because of this issues, sometimes it is a real pain to find the perfect armor, just the way you like… just to find out TONS of clipping issues.

And it’s also sad that a race with so much potential created by arenanet from top to bottom (something anyone would be proud of) to fall into this sidekick character. Charrs could even be Anet official mascot!!

Sometimes all it takes to boost a race popularity is a simple official video featuring a proud and fierce warrior doing something heroic or stylish. Give it a shot! why not?
Instead of giving up ans consider it a lost cause of popularity.

I for one cant imagine playing any other plane races, humans, norns, even asura and sylvari fade to the complexity, design and charisma of Charr. Charr is an out of the box race. It’s also the only race where players stay true to their Legions (Blood, Ash and Iron) from the very beginning to the very end, no Order (whispers, Vigil and Priory) is more important than our Legions! they’re sense of duty and loyalty is almost contagious

The only good outcoming from all this, is that we are not the mainstream race, giving us the differentiation factor. And pushes us to the limit of our creativity to make a good looking one

Bring Rox’s Quiver back please…

When I began playing this game the last sale of this back piece ended like a few weeks ago (fact I realise after some research on the item).

Just this! The item already exists, so just put it back in there one more time ^^

oh and another more similar to your colour pattern

Exemples:
first T2
second T3

T3, T2… being T3 a more metallic piece and very unique for charr physiognomy.
And T2 a more pale texture but fiting the charr head and neck unlike any other, giving a bulky look resembling an ancient roman gladiator helm.

T1 really depends on the chest piece your using…. imo only fits the respective T1 chest (wich tend to clip with anything on your back since it’s massive).

Other than the cultural sets… I can only find the Vigil, Ascalonian and Arah helm worth the try, thou some clipping issues might occur.

Some ppl, further in game, tend to use the colours of they’re order, Vigil, whispers or Priory…

Charr players usually stay true to they’re legion colours Blood, Iron or Ash.

This tells you a lot of Charr personal story.

For the Blood Legion btw!

From what I saw, you strive for uniqueness same as I do not for standard and easy choices, and there you have it…

To strive for uniqueness you cannot think of perfection (the perfect plain colour that matches everything).

Theres an old saying that goes something like this "we cannot love something perfect because true beauty lies in imperfection (if recall it).

My own charr have some details that I dont like… yet I cant get rid of them because at the same time, they’re the reason I like him so much! those details will never get me tired. And are those details that will be eye catching.

Lets put it with a real example… compare a child face with and old person face… who got the story? who can you tell as the most experience? Who can tell a story only by looking at you? and then… the child’s still the prettiest.

Despite what some ppl might say… is that doubt you have, that will make you love your character even more.

And the fact that ppl might even remember you, whether they like it or not, because you are not one more black charr with big teeth and giant horns… go LA and see for youself, either you remember their name or you cant really tell who the hell he/she is… because its just another pretty kitten looking Charr with no differentiating feature.

I saw your post a few hours ago and though I would give you my insight on “charr design”.
Though its seems you already did quite an awsome job gratz! now thats a true Charr!

Not the mainstream black or white… I was about to suggest precisely that set of cutted horns. I agree big teeth simply looks silly… imagine an animal with that teeth size… despite what some might say, the animal would starve to death because they were too big for the mouth, even when it’s wide open, to get any food down his throat.

I think different in that matter of horn size… (no I dont like big horns but…). horns can fit in a male status of dominance and sign of virility. Thus I favor the cutted horns, they give the “illusion” of greatness, of gigantic and imposing horns that for some reason (role play might apply here) where cutted off.

About the overall face, I see you avoided those most common templates which is also pretty cool. There are only two faces in my opinion that fit a true charr, a machine of war… the one you choose and another one from the vanilla templates.

Can someone answer me on why rytlocks holds onto this and doesnt give it to queens jenna so she can enter ascalon with it and put all those foefire ghosts to rest, its hurting my brain, is rytlock an absolute moron, not only that eir had broken the counter part Magdaer and sent it off to be reforged, so why not end it once and far all, rytlocks people are dieing and he’s sat there behind his pretty little desk holding onto his pretty sword that he doesnt even use, he doesnt deserve to be a leader in my eyes :C

I read somewhere that it was because of the ghost threat that the 3 legions are united.
They united forces to keep Ascalon from falling from “Charr claws”.

So… if Rytlock ended the curse, the reason why char are getting along will cease to be, therefore the alliance will break and every charr will again mind their own affairs.

In my point of view, that same curse is the reason of charr current success and Rytlock knows it.

Rytlock might be the new Khan-ur or is planning to be… but thats a whole new debate.

8/10 and the 2 missing points its just because I personaly dislike persistent special effects on armor and weapons (the fire in this case) the 8 points pretty much sums up what I like in your armor, simple, realistic and well matched colors

This is my warrior, and this armor’s objective, besides trying to look good, is to honor the role play around my character.

as it stands:
Mithril dye: the bones of my enemies
Blood dye: honors my warband’s death and represents my legion (blood)
Graphite: well just metal

Not sure if evil but I like his “serious” looking
