It first appears the skyes and no ground.

After good 5 min it gets to normal.
I recently came back from a break and never had any issue.
Currently I’m playing to show the least amount of chars on screen due to zerg wars.
GW2 started being about aesthetics.
We had legendaries, we had dungeon set gear with cool appearances.
However, they decided that they needed one more tier: ascended. Fair enough.
But in order to get that new said tier, you need to grind, mindlessly. Just that.
Those items should have the current grindy way untouched, but they should also be acquired by coordination content. Maybe give an ascended weapon for a dungeon master?
Anyways, GW2 has a very sad thrend: It is a grindy game, that doesnt reward hard content.
In fact, you barely will have anywhere to use those ascended gears. They view on “hard” are just dmg scaling/one shot mechanics.
Item progression is extremly slow and if you can’t keep up as an old player, I can only feel sorry.
However, all this new tier is just a mindless grind.
So we got an intense money and grinding sink called ascended weapons.
Is there any plan to add challenging games that would reward us?
Let me clarify: Ill use that scary word: raids or ove content doable in five man that woukd make us actualky work tigether as high level fractal.
You don’t need ascended gear to play the game.
In fact, you not even need to look at your screen to play most of the game as it is mindless zerg outside FotM.
Arah p4 would be in there as well, except it isnt rewarding enough. I’d get far more running CoF1 SE1/3 AC1/3 in that same time (or even less).
Maybe if they fix boss mechanics where stacking and zerker became word of order ascended gear would be relevant.
I dont kniw about you, but I got bored on www and pvp. It is time for them to add something new, and finally some progression.
It is not likr youll complete o overpower your enemies with such small status increase.
Staying a whole year with the same gear is very bad imo…
Healing power is a waste.
Same goes for most defensive status.
Go zerker with some Knight gear (since 5% of your toughness becomes precision) and forget about anything else.
On pvp, you may want some vit.
I remember there was a way to skip it using evade, but I’m failling to reproduce it now.

I have a nice staff I got with Kharma in my main (back when Kharma was char related). If I transmute it into something else, the resulting item will not be soul bound?

Throw some skills around.

Every party that runs CoE or AC alwyas stacks on bosses.
For some reason, stacking removes or nullifies some skills that certain bosses have.
Subjetc Alpha, a true exemple of hard boss, became a walk in a park when we realized that pushing him against a wall and stacking on him makes his attacks negligible.
That only adds to the “zerker” wave on gearm after all, you barely take any dmg that way and can simply dish out as much dmg as possible.
This needs to be adressed.

1. Require coordination. Uncoordinated zerging leads to failure. This has happened.
2. Has new reward, the Twisted Shoulder skin.
3. Involves group work, which by definition zerging is.

Zerg is just running around spamming 1 or 2. Sometimes you have to move away here and there…
Group Coordination requires people to actually know when to use certain skills, when to change specc, when to use this or that, such as seen in FotM, for example.
I guess i’m just tired of so many LS and looking foward into good old content like we had on Arah or FotM.
I even miss when this game launched and we actually didnt know about stacking on every boss.

My sugestion is everyone use as a signature some sort of phrase connected to their awfull work on Charr armor.
Those that dont know how to set up their signature, just post it in the end.

Please, Aion had this feature and it was a god send.
When zerging around in pve, seeing other players and their effects is overwhelming for melee. I can’t see bosses animation and reaction accordinly.
When there are mesmer around, I not even look for too long at my screen as it starts to gives me headaches (yes, I have the decrease visual effects option on and it doesnt do much).
I believe we could have any option where we only see commanders and party mates.
Everyone else should be hidden and only their name plate show (if you enable it).

Those MAJOR ones should be announced in party and guild (World Explorer, Dungeon Master, Legendary, lvl 80, Liadris kill)…

I got one exotic and probably 2 rares from this whole week and I killed champions on that pavillion almost everyday (well, they are legendaries, but you got my point).
In DGs, I killed some champions and didnt get anything at all….
but then again, this week I mystic forged my Colossus, so is it god just compensating?

And dodge, with ocasional heals.
As food use oils for crit and ghost food. So your crits heal you.

The Elite “wear zerk and nothing else or you are useless” people are a minority. Yes they play well, yes they are obsessed about saving a few minutes on a run, yes they are narrow minded and arrogant and no amount of discussion and debate will ever change their mindset. So why bother even trying to have an intelligent conversation with them? We suck, play bad, and are completely selfish cause we choose not to be like them, end of story. Just ignore their party requests on LFG, block them in Game chat when you meet them, kick them from your party when they joi, pretend they don’t exist and disregard whatever they say when you see them on the forums. ThenTyria becomes world of tolerance and acceptance towards all races and professions where everyone can have fun without being judged by arrogant narrow minded intolerant people.
A good chunk of people are just lying about running in a group full of zerkers.
Even though I hardly believe they are actually doing that, after all, many bosses on the few hard content we have has dots and aoe dmg that would chew them alive (I’m thinking on higher fractals, or the late Aetherblade Retreat final boss or event, to some extent, Arah).
Most arent even dungeon masters and run to an extention the same paths… or run dificult without knowing one of their team mates are support builds.
However, all this discussion does bring up something really important: Game is being dumbed down.
ok, we have some expectional hard content, but most became zerg and win.
Not only that, a zerker has the same support skills as a support build, wich makes it even more important to buff scalling from other stats.
Healing scaling, for example, is so bad that it is close to irrelevant.
Vit/Toughness while it does help, it doesnt make you a real tank, since most bosses will 3 shot you (instead of 2 shot you in zerker).
Other stats needs to be viable and bosses mechanics needs to punish a group that chooses to go all dps. Bosses should hit weaker, but more constantly, for example.
Zerker for trash or to some dps race boss is ok as a design. But currently, it’s zerker for the vast majority of content. And this shouldnt happen.
I remember back during launch when devs were saying that there are no trinity, but there would be CC/Support/Control roles.
My main is a lvl80 charr warrior.
After playing human and seeing how human can look good in “anything”, I demand a race change license.
Seriously human can look better in lvl5 armor compare to charr in any level80 armor.

Still RNG for precussors is a flawed design.
They said they gonna fix it.
But anything with RNG or long repetitive grinds is almost as bad.
Precurssor shouldnt be easy to get, I give you that, but it should be based on skill, even if it is a long chain of skill tests.

People without internet.

Just allow us to get a big chance on champion loot (at least rares should always drop) and let DR kicks in as it always did.
Right now, I dont really get anything special from champion loot.

Champion purses were giving rares in a good ratio.
Now it is just one more trash bag, like treasure chests.
They have a sad habit of nerfing everything. Inclunding farm spots.
We need more pve content that makes support roles actually needed and everyone on full zerker not an option.
Gaunlet is fine, but liadris was over the top due to some classes not being abke to dps from range properly.
If those visions werent in phase two it wod be much more doable than lucky crits.
Mosts people I know that completed it are eng and mesmers for a reason.
People are complainning that other builds are not as good.
Everyone is going zerker on most of the game because it is possible, better and all the other builds arent as good.
They need to bring other roles such as support into play.
It is our fault for believing on support roles.
This game is just about zerg and dps.
No need for support on 99% of the game.
So go zerker or waste your time.

How about you make some suggestions rather than just complain on the current system?
Do you want suggestions? ok, here are a few:
Make bosses hit faster but weaker. You cant dodge forever, so having someone being able to soak up dmg can do wonder. In a plus note, that player, for not having a dedicated healer, he will have to survive with party buffs, combo fields (blast on water, for example) that a dps can make.
Dont have a tanky character? That’s fine. We have a support build with healing on hand, whose healing would suffice to make the gap so a zerker can survive during that fight.
Dont have that? Chain CC, coordinate CC, coordinate line of warding, kites. Zerker could still do it, but they wouldnt dare to just sit there and dps with an ocasional dodging.
You can use support skills and still use berserker gear.
And that’s exactly my point.
You can use support skills as a zerker.
All the other gear sets are just a waste outside some expcetional, yet lovely, content.
I agree that some entrance level instances could be just zerker run.
But if the vast majority of dungeon/pve content is done in zerker gear, maybe it is time to revaluate the need of other combinations.
Make healing scale to a relevant standard? (you wont dmg, but hell, you gonna heal).
Make toughness, outside it’s aggro drawing capacity, be able to actually soak up dmg.
Sadly, go zerker or hold back your team.
As for getting friends to run with you, I have an active guild and good friends that ALWAYS run with me. They don’t mind if I run naked or just wearing a small leather Thong (I’m a charr, so you can get the image for your whole life now).
But I do mind knowing I’m holding them back. That’s why I have a support gear in my bags for those excepctional moments (Aetherblade retreat, FotM 30+) but mostly, I see myself running zerker (either because mobs 2 shots you anyways, where they otherwise would 3 shot you or because of dmg being irrelevant).
If there is such thread for so long, perhaps it is time to bring support roles into play?
Remember when game released? There wont be holy trinity, but there will be support/control roles.
@Vayne. Yes, I play like I want, but I dont want to feel gympsed. Right now we are forced into blindly dps. I have 2 sets and switch them back and forth. But sadly, I go far more zerker than I feel I should mostly because I know my support is useless.
@Esplen: High level fractals, Arah (to some extent at p4) and Aetherblade Retreat are the only places I can THINK of being support is important.
The problem is the rest of the game, and every single new event they add.
Champions? Zerk Zerg.
Dragons? Zerk Zerg
99% of the dungeons? Zerk Zerg.

As for the issue at hand; congratulations. What about you do it 3 more times in a row with me in front of you? Because I can guarantee you that you, like many others who beat Irongut or liadri with “less conventional methods” will say that was “skills” and not luck.
I have seen plenty of people doing it, only guardian I saw succeeding was one using GS/Staff, and even he admitted that he got lucky.
Admit it, certain classes cant do it very well, I have been running around the dome and most people “bragging” around with their mini are mesmers (a solid 8/10 times).
Im not meleeing the thing, but I have little options as to what to do when as an Ele I cant switch weapons to kill the orb and cant heal myself without COMPLETELY crippling my damage.
I can do one or the other; do damage or heal.
If I do damage, I die to constant autoattacks and the leaps, if I heal I run out of time. If I do a middle ground i still run out of time since it. is. not. enough.
My ele friend did this by going full condition dmg, condition duration and went earth scepter/dagger.
He kept making her bleeding to death.
But I wouldnt change my expensive sigils/runes for one encounter.
Camera is awfull and classes with no real ranged skills can’t really do much.
As a guardian, I go to second phase easily. But my best so far was 50% of her HP, and only because I respecc’d to full condition + burn dmg.
My spirit weapons get devasted in aoe.
It’s doable but would be FAR more doable if I had dots (or real dmg when ranged).

It is pretty obvious that this game mostly does not require support for anything.
It is mostly zerg and dodge till the end of time.
When they dealed with the holy trinity I was lead to believe that there would be still support roles, wich became a lie.
It is our fault for believing on support roles.
This game is just about zerg and dps.
No need for support on 99% of the game.
So go zerker or waste your time.
Edit. Editted to mention I had pve in mind, specially dungeons and zergs (World Bosses).
Edit 2. I have both specc and I’ve been and completed every single instance in this game, multiple times. And I know that I can support just fine as a zerker. Aside here and there, we barely needed support roles.

Guild Missions are fun, they always need to get expanded, but how about Missions for groups (regardless of guild)?
I know we have that, it is called instances, but it could be an extra element added daily to dungeons, that could change a certain mechanics or opening a bonus event (optional for those that just want to clear the dungeon).
On top of that, they could add “gambits” to normal dungeon, increasing it’s rewards.
Another thing I’d love to see would be those FFVIII style missions. Remember right in the start when GUARDEN sends you to a town to take over some TV or something like that? We all started in a boat rushing to it, with events and bosses.
It could be “adapted” to an open world version: It would be long chains of events that we know where it starts and most importantly when.
Now, how to prevent those events to be our current zergfest, I have no idea.
I believe Kiel was introduced to us in a more personal touch through living stories, while Gnashblade only made his appearance (and a small one) during Zephir Sanctum.
So yes. Kiel has a headstart.
I keep changing between Zerker and support depending on what I’m going to do.
While my spec doesnt change (it is still 0/0/30/30/10), I do change all my utilities and those numbered traits around.
Can we please add some way to “save” 2 or more armor/specc/skillset preset to make this transition faster?
While I dont agree that other builds are useless under the lights of hard content, I do agree that zerker has the upper hand because most content is just too silly.
And when they buff pve content, they make “Two shot” mechanics, mobs that hit so hard that even tanks cant survive.
It is simple, we need content where CC will matter, where tatical play will matter.
And how do we that?

Bringing in support builds into play.
Aetherblade Retreat was a heaven for support builds. We did it with a “tank” and a “healer” and it became a breeze, but still challenging.
Tank and healers in this game doesnt need to be the same concept than other games. There are no way to artificially generate aggro and everyone needs to dodge and use skills.
Healers can’t just stay back and heal, but the synergy of the party, with a support specced can overcome gaps.
Those two roles (healers and tanks) to our reality must be called “supports”.
