There isn’t really that must new for us. DB has been slowly reemerging to what we once were. Getting a guild here or there every other week is a bit different then the 4-5 servers that picked up like 10+ guilds in a span of 3 days.
It’s really not. All servers here are recipients of a ton of transfers. Mag was fighting you the week you lost all of your NA to SoS 2.0, and you definitely gained numbers since then. Mag has embraced that we’re a zerg server and so should you.
I think you missed my point. the DB that is today is an evolution of the last 6-8 weeks or more. the maguma that is today is an evolution of last week.
As far as i can tell it looks like Maguma and kaineng have both hit a wall. look at both of there opening night point totals last week and look at were they are now. this is going to be a great week. a long one for a number of servers as well.
Looks like YB and CD are doing a good job at challenging kaineng as well.

Servers can and will rebuild. As a member of the Dragonbrand server we were one of the first to suffer from this event in such a massive level. So i wish your server well.
i think the other thing to take into consideration with the Yak’s/ maguma/IOJ match up is even thought Yaks is getting trashed they are still going up in ranking. and best of all they are actually gaining points during the 8am window which is where DB’s night crew peak.
So i’m pretty sure Magumma is going to hit a wall. kaineng is a different story.

Comparing DB vs YB and Mag vs YB doesn’t make any sense considering one of those matches had a dead server in them.
If there is a dead server in the match, the winning server will look far stronger than they actually are.

Yeah but recruiting didn’t matter too much because Dragonbrand is just an awesome server name. Almost as good as Fort Aspenwood.
My guess is that within two months we’ll be so tired of fighting the same opponents for the 4th consecutive week that the boards will be alive with (probably the same people) begging for free server transfers to make it interesting again.

I can see why you went there. To be honest, I thought that, too. But let’s take a look at it from the devs’ perspective(s):
Let’s say they do open up free transfers again; and maybe this time, they facilitate and screen the exodus (unlike was seen in the SoS fiasco [not to bring old wounds up—just making a point]). Would they really want to risk history repeating itself in that free transfers have the potential to create and perpetuate the…for lack of a better word..rise of dead servers?
I guess what I’m saying is that either: when paid transfers come into effect, servers will ‘belong’ into their tiers and level off, remaining in balance for months on end (which will inevitably bore the life out of most WvW players); or a new system needs to be in place to avoid both boredom and the perpetuation of putting a server against the same opponents, indefinitely.
I can see, now, that this thread has taken a tangental turn…alas: FA…good gracious, please go to sleep so I can play properly your presence is so voluminous that my computer lags like mad; that or I just need a new computer….. probably the latter
The other thing that could come to affect is servers abusing the guesting that they are putting into effect. just thing if everyone from SoS guesting for 1 week into a lower tier WvW . now that would really cause a kitten storm.

The thing I don’t quite understand is why are you saying we are riding WM’s momentum ? Yeah, they are good in WvW, but we as NEO Alliance have our own thing to worry about. WM worries about WM, they keep their map painted just as well as we’ve been doing. Matter of fact, all of us combined are the ones that are bringing Kaineng to the top tier. So much hate and negativity, we have a start of a new beginning as of right now it’s coming along great.
Actually Kaineng started pushing 600+ PPT when WM arrived. All i remember of RE is a guild who used to claim all the fame of the server so much that even it’s own allied guilds would have to speak up to remind them that they were there too.
And that attitude, changed and died long ago. You seriously don’t remember the 6-8 people defending your keep takeovers at 1am pst server time until 3am ish in EB? Of course not, on the other side of the fence it’s just a ‘just a matter of time battle’.
If I were troll your posts, I would add all I remember of a couple DB commanders who continually laid build site on top of build site even when we take it out with our defense siege, for an hour on end each night.
Things do change, and I personally look forward to the opportunity to play against DB with not 1, not 2, not 5 specific guilds … but everyone who is on kaineng. Each night I try to take some time to walk with some other commanders, stop and say hello to other guilds.
Server’s do change, and I look forward to fighting your EA squad again, along with DB’s new found allies.

Well being that we are an NA time guilds…yes we are very glad and relieved that WM/KOR/SOS/Meow, etc are here for our night time force.
The last time we fought you on DH, we struggled in NA time, due to maybe 4 NA WvW guilds leaving and RE and I think GOF/SE were the only ones remaining, we could not que maps at all. And to top that we didnt not have a night time force, at all…So we were outmanned during NA, and we woke up every single morning with everything owned by DB..
Its not the same situation at all right now, and you know it too…

When we starting being matched up against each other DB could hardly field 20 people in our BL and EBG. we built from that and will continue.

I can’t see kain or mag making it past tier 3. Once they get there it will be a close battle. Ill only do top three teirs after that to be honest I have never followed.

Our of curiosity. Is most of IOJ xfers done or are they still moving over to FA? Right now FA is big enough to handle both CD/DB. Hopefully that will balance out with the guilds xfering over to DB. I estimated we had about 1.5k+ trying to transfer to us from reset day. Either way, the match is not yet over. We still have the weekdays to see how things turn out. This match can still be taken by any server.
There are probably some players from former IoJ guilds who haven’t got the memo yet, but for the most part, I think the IoJ transfers are done. FA isn’t a full server so there are no problems getting in. That said, we are still expecting more transfers. We received a couple from DH and one from JQ. There are still more guilds interested in joining our community so we will continue to welcome them.
This thread really should be called “1/18/13 CD/FA and IoJ/DB”. I know server transfers are kosher in-game and part of everything. But I have to express extreme dissapointment with all the large WvW guilds from IoJ that transferred to FA just before their server went down a bracket.

The funniest part about this whole thing is that for the first few weeks of the last matchup, CD/FA/IoJ, their was much talk and rumors of FA and IoJ teaming up to attack CD’d map at exactly the same time every night. Rumors of friends/guilds actually splitting themselves over the two servers……and now the two servers have joined up…
I’m not saying anything you guys have done is wrong or against the rules or anything.
But when I go into WvW and see all the big IoJ guilds fighting along side FA now…glad your not on my server.

Yes actually you can look up what guilds have gone over to FA on the LOJ sight. they have it posted on the main page with each guild saying if they would leave and where they would be going.
if you notice how effective FA has gotten from friday to saturday i would guess is not all of the guilds were at full strenght. the couple guilds that DB got have not been able to fully transfer over either.

I think there is confusion over the fact that there was a guild called PRO on DR server and they transfered over. but i thought it was to DB not FA
If anyone here was on IoJ during the last few weeks, they’d know why many left. Our NA crew was comprised of a handful of guilds and only perhaps a hundred players spread across all maps. We did the best we could with what we had, but eventually internal problems started developing not only within the community but also within guilds like mine. We learned how to fight under adverse conditions and became quite tactical and tenacious, and because of that we were able to field the highest PPT many nights, despite having three outmanned maps.
What other competitive server can do that? Only one that I can think of, and that’s why we’re there now. Despite what’s been said here, Fort Aspenwood is still Fort Aspenwood. The playstyle hasn’t changed, only the numbers have. In the end, it gave everyone a fighting chance (to say the least) and it brought our spirit back into the game.
There are many people out there unhappy with where they are and trying their best to improve their situation, as we had been doing over the last two months. To those who are there for the sake of your server and not for the sake of the win, I applaud you. Week after week of server loss and guild departure after departure takes its toll. I’m sure we can all relate to that.

Dragonbrand can do that! and we did it for a month when during our NA prime time we could only field maybe 30 players between all the Bl’s and EB. We fought with honour and integrity the same that our night crew did.
And it payed off because here we are back up to tier 3 again.
Price of Legendary weapons will drop, since offer will constantly increase.
The completation has never been the main issue on crafting a LW, beside more and more people is getting it now.
PS Isaac, if you are pondering to sell yours (if you have one) accept this piece of advice, sell it sooner than later and do not wait for price to drop

CD dropping by to say hi to our new opponent, DB. Next week is gonna be a blast now that all 3 servers in T3 will probably have similar numbers of Oceanics/Asians. If you didn’t know, FA just got massive reinforcements in the form of 9 guilds from IOJ.

To be honest i actually think CD has the larger Asian population. At least it was like that when we fought them last time. So I hope were all ready for a real fight.
On another Note i’m sorry to see EB not performing like they did last week. IF you didn’t like DB’s night crew your not going to like dealing with Kaineng.
Zergs don’t stick around towers for more than 30 seconds after capture very often.
Zergs tend to stick around about as long as their commanders do.
I’m not sure if this is a quip at me or just a statement, I’ll assume the latter.
Zergs are not mindless.
Every character in a zerg is a fully independent human being with a brain that can go “Maybe I should stick around and check out hiding spots in this tower while the rest of the zerg moves on”
It’s a waste of time for everyone to mesmer sweep one tower for 5 minutes, but any one of the people in the zerg could opt to stay behind and verify the tower is safe themselves.
I know I stay behind and mesmer sweep all the time when I have my Commander tag off.
Saying the Commander leaves too soon is a huge copout.
Not that i want to side with him but there is science that does lend to the idea of MoB mentality. But there are steps the commander can take to make sure such actions are delegated and taken care of.
We don’t. I don’t know where and DB player has ever said that we don’t have an outstanding Asian Presence. We just take offense to the claim that NA prime is awful and we are just being carried when the scores don’t show that at all. Go look at the scores again. EB and YB keep acting like DB is ticking 50 all of NA primetime every day and in the morning we are ticking 500+. It just isn’t true.
Well heres a crazy idea:
Why don`t all of your NA prime time players pick a lower tier server with players that hardly WvWvW transfer there and prove us all wrong and let us know how it turns out.
accept the fact DB has superior coverage. Further, your server will have much more difficulty keeping up with DB as our NA group grows and builds on our solid foundation.
Yea but you have to ask yourself these simple questions:
*How many of our new people will stay if we start to fall in rank?
*Are they fair weather players only here as long as we win?(most important question)
*Do we have what it takes to get to a higher tier and stay?
We have gone as high as Tier 2 before. Honestly we have the Coverage to move up one more rank safely. As for fair weather players if they go worse case scenario is we will fall down to tier 5. we might be able to maintain teir 4 but we would be the 3 man down.
currently we would need something big to happen in tier 3 for us to move up. they seem to have flattened out in the score. Kaineng will be the only thing that could shake up the tiers.
It’s obvious why a server would complain that they lose when they are asleep. Can’t get mad at us for doing it, but oh we’ll. gotta take the good with the bad

So Yak’s bend had the stronger non NA presence? i was wondering why they were always winning against eb and mag but when up against DB they scored poorly.
well this match is still fresh so lets see how the chips fall.
To be fair, DB’s NA primetime force certainly does need work. We need to cross-talk more effectively, and coordinate our forces better. Also, we need to educate more people on using key siege. Last night for example we lost NE tower in YB bl due to the defenders in the tower not using an already built treb to take out the YB cata line.
But it is easy to pick out and criticize crucial mistakes like that, and miss the bigger structural picture. DB’s primetime force would have been neck and neck with EBay and YB scores throughout the night, had we held DB garrison. Which to my understanding we only lost because YB and Ebay hit it at nearly the same time.
We can easily fix that mistake with a bit more defensive siege.
Lol none of this matters because your prime time crew will cap 80% of the map for a much longer period than Yak’s and EB will grab 40% while fighting each other with a little DB on the side to get in the way. So you really don’t need to explain whether or not DB is competitive during the NA prime time in this tier, what you could discuss is stealing a few more NA guilds and moving to tier 3.
We didn’t steal any guilds. those people who chose to come to DB did so on their own.
as for NA presence i beleive he have the highest ticker atm and it’s 5:51 pm pst. DB is going to give you a run for your guys money during the NA primetime. we know how to fight outnumbered….

I think the problem with BP is they are a server with a high number of transfers and fair weather players. If they get blown out on friday, their morale is destroyed for the rest of the week.
You guys gonna finally admit population is the biggest factor? Because i thought you were destroying all the lower tiers simply on tactics alone?
Hopefully you guys have now been humbled.

but at the same time BP did come in and say they were only gonna be here for the 1 round and actually did post a seperate thread calling out yaks and said they were coming for them. so at this point in time i do feel it’s appropriate.

I check different WvWvW post all the time. I just like to know what’s going on. Since it is a competitive atmosphere, I would say its his business who is winning or losing etc.
