I think magooomba are in the exact same position as FA. We’re going to bounce between t2/3 and mags between t3/4
And DB going to be stuck in the middle for a long time. We have enough asians to stomp tier 4 servers, not enough people in general to compete with tier 2.
Honestly i think DB is the only true tier 3 server. We’ll pretty much be stuck here until the end of time unless something major happens.

Actually the mods are been keeping it clean. i know this because a number of my reply’s have been removed because of the OP was removed.
Most of the regular kaineng posters have stated that’s all they think matters, which is true if you want to move up to tier 1 and be The Best Wvw Superserver. I imagine if they don’t stomp in tier 1/2 when they get there (the real ones, not the projected matches for next week), we might see another exodus. The whole “tier 1 is obviously better” mentality is not something I understand at all, though.
Next round BG and TC with have a go at Kaineng. while the night crew will more then likely clean up the points i have a feeling it won’t be as lopsided.
If maguma could have fielded a bit more pressure on Kaineng it would have been a better match overall.
also we had a few no show nights which was really odd.
odds are they will be planning to do a reset every “insert time period”
So it’s best to give them as much feed back so that they and better plan out the next one.
Alot of servers were complaining about always facing the same servers so maybe this is the only solution to that senario. Plus people saying they can’t get map completion….
either way if the servers keep getting tossed about tier 4 will continue to be the 3 big servers.
So if the matchups continue the way they are going all of tier 1 will end up playing against each other again in tier 4.
So lets assume that they all perform to the same lvl’s next week….
they might end up playing each other a couple weeks in a row in tier 4.
While it’s not very likely they will end up playing more then 3 weeks in a row that is the only matchup that will be the constant in the next couple weeks.
if we wanted to be in T1 we would have transferred to JQ instead… we are trying to contribute and help build what Kaineng wants to be

Some left. Most stayed, mostly due to Kaineng’s Hakuna Matata attitude. You roll with whatever comes and make the most of it. If it means jumping tiers, meh… We’ll jump tiers. Don’t really care where we end up, I’m having fun all the same.
Why would anyone have respect for a server whose entire reason for ‘success’ is mass transfers from bored tier 1/2 guilds and resultant bandwagoners?
Kaineng has showed they are able to move up to Tier 2 that is all that was all that was needed .
however i do wish our night crew could have performed a bit better on opening night. after looking at last nights PPT gains it would have been nicer to see Kaineng with 10K less and DB with 10K more.

They didn’t disappear there just not as big as Kains. They’ll fight hard and push during the week like they normally do.
I also think our DB night crew just haven’t needed to worry about any formal tactic’s so far. This week will be really good for them. toughen them up in the long run.

Not that I think that counts as proof. But it would be nice if Anet let us see our position in the queue to help know if it’s at least moving. That would go a long way towards getting rid of that sort of complaint, I think.
I think a que number would be a great idea. this would allow people to get a general idea about how long there wait would be and also pick and choose maps a bit more effectively.

Who exactly are you fighting that is making it the “best” you’ve ever played?
I’m thinking you must be one of those people who look at the score and evaluate the match that way, armchair quarterback style, because you obviously haven’t been part of our matchup. You should probably read the matchup thread – we’ve been fighting YB and CD, and we collectively have had a ton of great fights this week. I’ve seen plenty of posts from all three servers saying the same.
YB and CD aren’t helpless, nor have they failed to bring the fight this week. They just don’t have the coverage to show points on the scoreboard.
So, yes, it was a good week in WvW.
I also think morale and the fact that YB and CD are both fighting a fully entrenched server is also playing against them.
What i find interesting is that the other night when they posted the 3 minute warning . my guild was in a dungeon or fractal and they got a 3 hour warning.
Now what the hell was that about?!?!
If they can set up different zones with different timers then they really should do this for WvW
Maybe they are not using alt f4 to close the client. maybe taskmanager or a third party program ment to safely close a program is bypassing the programming the game has in place.
The problem with predicting how next week is going to be is that both us (Dragonbrand) and Kaineng were reaching +695 during Asian primetime. So it’s hard to tell which one actually has the stronger Asians (I think we all expect it’s Kaineng, though I’d be really happy to be proven wrong).
While our NA primetime is stronger now than it’s been since early September, it is still not a time of day that DB tends to dominate.
I think Mags will be able to make a much stronger showing next week, and scores will be even tighter. Right now we seem to be able to manage DB most of the day, but we get railed during Asian primetime. We could survive that, though, by regaining during Europe and holding during NA. I think we have a relatively strong even coverage. The problem with this match up is that we also aren’t able to dominate FAs NA enough to make up the point differential. I don’t think Kain has both DB and FAs strong times, so I would expect to see DB and Kain struggle with each other during Kain prime time (but basically wipe Mags out), but then Mags will come back during Europe prime time and be able to hold out long enough to even out or even take over.
In either event, I expect to see constant score updates, since I’ll be out of town travelling, and probably won’t be able to log. :-(
This is 100% correct. Maguma has a very strong early morning crew. which comes on right after the asians go to bed. the real test for next week is who actually has the stronger NA coverage between the 3 of us.
Who every can fill FA’s coverage the best should come out on top. with kaineng and DB fighting during the late night shift maguma should have a big advantage.
You’ll notice that FA has the strongest NA evening coverage. DB has the strongest late night coverage. and Maguma has the strongest morning coverage.
With FA leaving the tier it could actually put up a huge window of opportunity for all the servers to cash in. With kaineng and DB each having to fight over the same Time frame and Maguma still being uncontested during there’s
Kinda funny. I transferred from t1 to play with friends when Kain was in dead last in rankings. To be honest the zerg v zerg really isn’t all that different from T1 to T9 or whatever it was. It’s just more of it. Kain has so far zerged our way up to T4. I think t3 really won’t be much different. I highly doubt T2 will be that much harder. Kain win because of coverage , we have very very good guilds at off peak hrs. You can’t beat that. In t2 the servers will have better coverage in off peak hrs than lower tiers but I highly doubt any server has the zerg Kain has between 2 and 8 am est.
In the end it will be Kaineng’s asian Hordes VS. Dragonbrands Asian Hordes. Dragonbrands actually weak after 10am pst till around 3 pm pst. we have bolstered our NA coverage which is why we went down in the ranks.
Maguma has a strong early morning NA team. So if they can strike fast. they might be able to pick up the pieces quickly after all the Off hour players go to bed.
Welp with the announcement of the reset and maguuma not having a strong night time, we’re currently outmanned in our bl. This kinda sucks.
after next weeks match up change it’ll be interesting to see how Dragonbrands and Kainengs Asian hordes handle each other. either way maguma will be waking up to a fully occupated BL i think.

Going to be honest. I have almost no interest on what happens outside my own server and the servers we play. Its likely YB and SBI will be facing each other very soon and that is something I am looking forward as I am sick to death of fighting bandwagon servers
My suggestion is to play guildless for a week or so. When you get into fights with others that you enjoy ask if you can join their guild. I don’t think size is as important to style. Worst case you leave and join someone else.
Also you can be in more then 1 guild so just put yourself in more then one guild and just see what one fits your play style. You never know maybe you might like a larger guild because of it’s large mix of players.

What? Maguuma always does terrible over the weekends. We have the same population during the week that we do during the weekends, while everyone else tapirs off… so we’ll see.
Thats funny because everyone else always says DB does horrible on the weekend and picks it up over the weekdays.

Except that when most people moved they were unhappy with their current servers and saw a new home within Sea of Sorrows, togethor we have made it the most organized community within the game and have the statistics to prove it. That’s why we’re here for each other because we know it works.

Bad night for FA it seems. All borderlands and eb are full and no progress is being made. Interborderland liquidity is locked. People must be loitering or bag farming or something. Without direction old protocols will be followed. Ebb and flow that won’t be relieved in a full borderland. I think one of the other servers people is running a long term strategy rather than just being in the moment. Or maybe the match-up and destiny made the future undesirable and inescapable. Usually our best time because of the times it would seem is our worse time and the future times will hopefully be a time of rallying and tempo for FA.

Both Kaineng and Maguma have hit a wall. so in the end all the matters is how far SBI will fall. thats the only wild card left.

it does appear to be right in regards to kaineng they are back to steam rolling again. Maguma though is in 3rd place after the first night which has not been the case the 2 previous weeks.
FA is moving up and SBI is dropping and going to miss tier3 completely. with kaineng moving up.
For what it’s worth, we made huge strides over the last couple weeks because we dominated dead servers. Tonight we’re up against two strong servers, and holding our own. At least in EBG we’ve been handed a “warm” welcome to tier 3 and clearly ganged up on, pinballing back and forth from North to Southeast fighting off DB zerg after FA zerg and I don’t recall seeing either of those servers taking land from each other for the 4 or 5 hours I was in tonight.
This is more fun. This is far better than what we’d had for a while now, enjoy it.
The fights in the Lord room of SM were a lot of fun.
We were overhyped, but that doesn’t mean we don’t belong here. I don’t know all this about so many transfers over the last few weeks, the same commanders I’m used to seeing were leading and the people that are used to following them were doing so. Enough with the troll posts. Lift your heads up Maguuma, you belong at this level among good competition and who knows where the week will end.
I think maguuma has creted a bad rep for themselves. Some are humble, others blatantly kitteny, others hide their arrogance by “trying” to be polite to those server it just steamrolled, but letting them know they are clearly better.
I don’t think there’s any question about this. There’s also the fact that many of the person we’ve faced are crying babies and take the first chance they get to sling mud at us. Jesse Cox ring a bell? Yeah, lots of people are like that. Entire guilds of servers are like that. We simply don’t make an effort to correct them.
In regards to the post you quoted, no, we don’t belong here. We didn’t fight our way here, and climb by aiming to be the best and winning. We faced dead servers, and got bandwagoned to T3. We also have a heap of commanders and pubs that are clueless. Saying anything otherwise is foolish.
I think the score at the end of the week may speak otherwise. No, I don’t want to be a Tier 1 server either, but I sure don’t want to fall back to steamroll mode like we were the last couple weeks. Good competition makes for a more entertaining WvW experience. Yes, I do still believe we deserve to be here, or at least a solid tier 4 team, let’s just see how the week progresses before you tell me I’m foolish.

So what are the odds of Mag dropping down soon? This wvw is literally unplayable for me. Aside from hating the playstyle, there’s such a kitten amount of people everywhere that I’m lagging hardcore no matter where I am.
If you look at the current ratings SBI is on route for jumping down to tier 4 and missing teir 3 completely.

After TC, I would recommend Yak’s Bend any day of the week.
Oh no, yak’s bend is full. The queue times are redonkulous and everyone is there only to get the jumping puzzle done anyways.
Mags is definitely the place to be.
Haven’t played Mag, but on the servers I have played against/been on I would rank favor-ability as:
1. TC (Tarnished Coast is BEST COAST!)
2. Yak’s Bend (Great small scale fighters, top notch)
3. CD (Another set of great guys.)
Least favorite servers:
1. JQ (Great PvE, horrible WvW que’s and a lot of people with bad attitudes when I was there.)
2. FA (Some good guilds, but some tin-foil hat forum warriors that tend to kill some of the fun.)
3. BG (Seems like guilds are always coming and going on the server, didn’t like the WvW atmosphere.)
I love how dragonbrand always get’s forgotten about.
Yak’s Bend – despite being crushed by Maguuma the previous match-up since they clearly do not belong in T4, we still have several organized WvW guilds that have not jumped ship. In fact, we used the entire week to organize karma trains to encourage the lower levels and other folks who only PvE to join for some easy, stress free farm. Also serves well to train others.
We have a ton of people in the mumble channel and on prime times can field over 100 in the channel.
You can also join in on our mumble (details on website as listed above) and just ask around in any of the borderland channels.
On a side note,
The one thing that amazes me is that despite having several fairly large guilds on the server, there is no hostility or competition. Everyone works together as if we were one huge guild.
I want to bump this comment. If you look at the last 2 weeks Yak’s bend has managed to continue to go up in rating even though they were getting steam rolled. That is a very hard thing to do.
They are a very good fit for the tier they are in.
Also it’s reset night everyone is logged on ATM it calms down during the week
Been few weeks of too many people, even during the weeks. Far to many transfers, just looking for a new server where there are less giant zerg vs giant zerg. I miss smaller fights where a zerg was 15-20 people and smaller groups were more common.
Take a whole 20 seconds, look at the top of this forum. Click on the server rankings, choose server a couple tiers below Maguuma. Profit.
Maguma doesn’t have a oceanic presence. no profit at all. look at the score now.

Was it really overhyped? For two weeks Maguuma posters were in t3 threads saying we weren’t as big as people think, and for two weeks people kept believing yak’s bend posters (big mistake) that we were some sos 2.0 megaserver.
I think this is a case where people need to pick their sources better.
Dude you haven’t been paying atention to all the dialogue going between TC and maguma players about when they will be seeing each other. You really have no idea why maguma is rated tier 1 for forum warriors.

As far as i can tell it looks like Maguma and kaineng have both hit a wall. look at both of there opening night point totals last week and look at were they are now. this is going to be a great week. a long one for a number of servers as well.
Looks like YB and CD are doing a good job at challenging kaineng.
Too early to call on Kaineng, we are just coming into their prime off peak times for the next 6-8 hours or so. If they can balloon leads up then it will eventually produce a huge gap by the end of the week.
Even if it stays manageable tonight, the NA contingent won’t be able to overnight it the same on the weekdays.
True but Kaineng for the last 4 weeks has had a 600+ PPT after the first 2 hours after reset. So the fact CD and YB are holding there own is a good sign. Plus a large amount of oceanic presence didn’t leave CD so Kaineng isn’t going to be able to just walk in and take all of CD’s BL’s
