Just a random guess. It may be you joined server with completely different time zone than yours.
Here is list of guilds across servers. http://gw2.guildex.org/
Location is shown so it may help you figure out where would be best for you to play if this was the case.
Day 3
This is terrible. No Norn deserves this kind of torture. If near water, dense vegetation protects you from heat of the sun, but mosquitoes do not give you peace. Cursed bloodsuckers. And if you try that run away from them, you are exposed to the harsh heat. To make matters worse, we ran into branded creatures. They just crawled out of the sand. And in such numbers that joined with four other groups we barely managed to destroy them. Ten of our men died. Many are injured. 200 people took part in the battle. And we barely stepped into the crystal desert.
I should have applied for a naval expedition. I heard that half of the members of the guildĀ that remained in Lion’s Arch finishes collecting the materials necessary to build galley. So far, they have already built several small merchant ships. That’s life. You sail on a beautiful ship, fight against pirates and sea monsters, enjoy it in the summer breeze away from these.. these… mosquitoes.

This belongs in the fan generated content area of the forums
It was planed to be a mix of suggestions and storytelling. But yes. It could be placed there too.
Day 2
Oasis is beautiful. Nothing like the shore where we landed. I’d like to stay here for a while. Unfortunately, we have to leave it. I do not look forward to the heat and sand.
Two days ago, scouts noticed another guild to raise the foundations of the fortress near Hero’s Audience. We proposed the guild leader to build our fortress next to the oasis, but he’s got his eye on the ruins of Thirsty River. Ships with the material for the construction should have already sailed from Lion’s Arc. How much material we have gathered, the chances are that he plans to build a city, rather than usual fortifications. Crazy man. I just hope that we will get there before the others. If at all we get there.

Day 1
We arrived at the coast of Amnoon oasis. The leader of the guild was in a hurry to get us here before the others. All around us is sand. I do not like this climate. And this map we have is outdated. We’ll wait until dark, and then continue to the oasis.
Hello everyone.
This thread represents my suggestion for the game content. I think that a game called Guild Wars should promote the content in which the players would have worked as members of the guild, as well as individual progress. Regardless of the origin of this name.
Combating elder dragons has united the nation and the war between guilds, which would imply a territorial fight is impossible. However, guilds can, and should, compete about prestige, glory and honor.
Further, it is my wish that this game is evolving into a game of the third generation. In third generation games, the player’s actions affect the world around them. I believe that this way of introducing new content more interesting than the traditional one.
I realize that the chances are minimal that the ideas is implemented. I hope that at least someone like them. In order avoid the walls of text, I will introduce those ideas through passages from the diary. I also hope, this way it would be more interesting to read.
Suggestion sub forum has been moved to Archive and can’t be posted on. Where can we post suggestions related to game mechanics, new concept ideas, solutions to problems etc.
spoiler alert
No, no not really. All of them have flaws which have consequences. Logan’s got a crush on the Queen he’s supposed to be protecting.
Reading the book, i got the feeling Logan’s crush on Queen is very reason why he become Seraph and why he is protecting her right now. But, Logan is… well Logan… and there is separate thread about our great and noble hero Logan…
Can we let go of Marjory and Kasmeer. I don’t care if they are gay, straight or lamps, as long they are interesting as a characters. (I find Marjory’s detective theme pretty cool tho)
For me, problem is the game feels like a fable for kids.
The Fox and The Crow
A Fox once saw a Crow fly off with a piece of cheese in its beak and settle on a branch of a tree.
“That’s for me, as I am a Fox,” said Master Reynard, and he walked up to the foot of the tree.
“Good day, Mistress Crow,” he cried. “How well you are looking today: how glossy your feathers; how bright your eye. I feel sure your voice must surpass that of other birds, just as your figure does; let me hear but one song from you that I may greet you as the Queen of Birds.”
The Crow lifted up her head and began to caw her best, but the moment she opened her mouth the piece of cheese fell to the ground, only to be snapped up by Master Fox.
“That will do,” said he. "That was all I wanted. In exchange for your cheese I will give you a piece of advice for the future: “Do not trust flatterers.”
Same as when Charr wants to kill an Asura, there is 15 minutes long talk how he is big and strong and Asura is small and puny. Then Asura says the he is 2^C times smarter then him. Then after long and boring dialog heard millions of times before, they finally start to fight. And then in the middle of the fight they start arguing again. And all of that because they are both in love with Scarlet.
I understand some people find this style of storytelling interesting. But some of us find it boring and repetitive. We don’t want game to be changed entirely. Just that they add some character that are different then those and we can connect to.
Edited: Added some space between paragraphs.

How about new tab in social panel called “Not worthy commanders”? Markers of players labeled as such wouldn’t be be displayed on map.
Really hope that we get in future something like Skill Skins with that we can make the Skills look more impressive, otherwise I’ve to say that there exist even tons of offline rpgs with better Skill Effects, than GW2.
On the other hand, I (and a lot more players) hope we get “turn all this crazy light off” check box in options menu so we can see at what are we actually swinging swords, axes, maces…
I agree with Rym. I’m really tired of gentlemen pirates, caring assassins and empathetic murderers.
Just out of curiosity, can you do video on 100 vs 100 fight in WvW and show FPS?
“… but we absolutely are going to do sweeping new features that you would traditionally only get in expansions – large regions, content and progression additions to your characters in the form of growth and professions and races. Those are all things that you will see in the lifespan of Guild Wars 2.”
As i haven’t played GW (1), does anyone has idea what they mean by character growth? Does it stands for increased level cap or something else?
They also mention new large regions. If we get new level cap, what are the chances they would be 80+. Personally, i would prefer them to be for all levels. Some 1-15, others 20-30, 70-80, etc. Also, i think there should be something better and more fun than rising level cap.
So, you start new profession with a new race on new map. Maybe even using new weapon.
Any thoughts on this considering previous expansions ( in GW )?
Well, it started with asking about lore that could be used if this feat ever becomes available. But we strayed a bit from topic there.
(also, i think suggestion sub forum is closed for posting)
Idea for this didn’t came from ArcheAge. To be honest i learned of that game just days ago. It came from Allods Online, an mmorpg game that had ship fights since 2009. Since i’m not sure how much we can talk about other games on forum, if you want to hear how they put it together, i’ll gladly send you PM.
It is my belief that we have enough lore to justify having ship fights in game. Also, i am sure they are capable enough to make this happen if they decide to. Will they do it? I don’t know. Surely they have their assessment team for ideas like this one.
What we can talk about is if we would like to see it in game, and how it could be connected to the current story.
Difficult? – Yes.
Impossible? – No.
Would we bear with their mistakes while they improve this feat? – Yes.
Would players like it? – Probably. I would.
Could ANet earn some extra money with this? – Yes. On style.
Where on the map would we sail? What would quests look like? What would be story behind this? How many types of ship would exist, how many could be owned by single player? How many players could sail on a small trade ship? How many on war galley? Will they finally give us raid group? Will there be contested areas for pvp/gvg pvp? – This, my fellow gamers, i ask you.
I have just finished reading “Sea of Sorrows”. Great part of the story tells us how they fought on the sea. Firing cannons, boarding enemy ships, using magic to defend, attack or push sails….
It would be really great if they would implement that in game. The Pact also created submarines and air vessels. Imagine the fun of fighting in mid air, or under the sea.

While i have ideas how it could be made technically, i was wondering what is the story it could follow. And what region of Tyria would be best for such game play? Do we chase Bubbles? Sail to Cantha?
So, what do you think? Will we be able to fight pirates and sea monsters from the deck of our galleys? Maybe even pvp on them? And what story could follow that?
