Now here is the suggestion. Add the ability to jump right to their response to the OP.
Why: So I ( and others) may go right for the golden response instead of sifting through garbage.
If precursors were easy to come by everyone would have a legendary. It’s nobody’s fault but yours if you started with the easy parts of the legendary grind and then get discouraged when you don’t want to do the hard parts. Get your world completion, clovers, and precursor first. The rest are the easy parts.
Don’t give me that load about any idiot being able to buy a legendary, if it were so easy to do you and I would have one by now. Thousands of gold to buy a legendary translates into thousands of dollars if you buy gems from Anet. I say if some idiot is willing to spend thousands of real dollars for a stupid legendary, they can have it. That’s a legendary waste of money.

The people complaining about how the legendary isn’t legendary to get are the ones who want it handed to them.Spot on what; you’re probably one of those gold farmers if you honestly agree with the current method. It’s a LEGENDARY item; Since when has FARMING…EVER equated to legendary? Legendary has always, and should always mean it’s difficult to obtain, but still is possible WITHOUT rng. As someone has already said; as it stands now, you could NEVER see a precursor drop if your rng is terrible. This forces you to do what a lot of people do NOT enjoy…farming. You have so save up an estimated 400-600 gold (which ANet has already said was far too high) to buy an item from some one who has better rng; making them not only lucky, but now wealthy.

It’s not like in real life the grandest swords had any rare materials like gold or jewels on them. Come on, get real. IF legendary armor comes out, that should be expansive too, just as rich knights in the medieval time spent a lot of money on ceremonial armor.

After mulling it over a bit I came to the conclusion that legendary weapons exist for the sole purpose of enticing people to gamble at the Mystic Forge, so that when someone loses all of their ingame gold they are more likely to cash back in through the gem store.
Solution? Save your gold.
Treat it like your token idea, and every day put 1-5 gold in your bank and never take it out. It will take a while but maybe in that time spent patiently farming you’ll randomly grab it from a dungeon or world boss chest. Or at least one you can sell to put towards the precursor you really want.
what’s the point of having gold if you are never going to use it?
hahaha i feel no sympathy for anyone who speculated on the “nerf.” It didn’t take much thought to figure out that most people DONT farm multiple world bosses on multiple alts per day by switching to alternate servers.

I see where you are going with this suggestion. Granted the number of tokens is a bit high, however my personal feelings on the precursor drop rate is that it’s all backwards.
The only thing stopping a lot of people getting a Legendary is the fact that prec’s drop so rarely. With that being the case most people just don’t bother at all. I feel that if Anet switched the drop rate for Prec. and made the gifts harder to obtain, for exmple: 1,000 tokens for Gift of battle instead of 500, and decrease the drop rate of T6 Mats and what not. Then people would still have to work hard to get a legendary but at least would have a better chance at getting a the Prec. they need. They shouldn’t leave things to chance at all really as it just annoys people.
I don’t know if this is even worth mentioning, but my guild have suggested a Precursor Pyramid scheme which will get 70 people in my guild a precursor within 7-weeks.
The idea is: 70 members all sign up to the Precursor pyramid and each day they farm and deposit 10g into the guild bank. at the end of each day the guild bank will have 700g in it, which is enough to buy 1 precursor. So you just do that rinse and repeat until all 70 people have a precursor.
Probably not what Anet would like to see people doing, but hey Tough kitten, they have left us no other choice!

I realy try to understand game dev. but i can’t.
With such easy PvE where only hard thing is to get party with at least gramm of brains for dungeon and WvW that ist realy my thing ,as i see it as Zerg vs Zerg, only option for me where PvP. You know what?! They kill’d it aswell, after they diable Paid TPvP [actualy for me they kill’d it after they change paid reward system].
They are destroing Warrior and Necro in PvP. It became almost impossibe to be effective this classes.
I understand that making more skills and sec. profession wont balance the game, but at least it will make game a lot interesting.
And they should redesing PvE as it is realy to easy. I run it without even selecting a single trait.
They should at least add to PvE HardMode like in gw1 .

Anet should:
Check OP account to see if the “missing” item was ever on the account. If so, they should then see if it was ever sold/salvaged/dropped between that time period and today. People do lie about game items to get them for free believe it or not. If it was not sold/ salvaged/dropped and is not on the account, Anet should give the said item back to the player.

I did a post about this and there are lots of post about it, but I think this would be a good way to help in all manors.
Dungeons right now are tailored to more of a end game content, and honestly dungeons need to be, but also they need to be some new player friendly dungeons too.
The idea is very simple.
Make all lower than level 70 dungeons very “noob” friendly, instead of 30 tokens each run just give us 1 token and that 1 token can buy you 1 piece of gear, so 6 runs will give you 6 pieces of gear. The story mode would be for the lower level gear only (equal to the dungeon level, AC would be level 30) this will keep all players do all dungeons all the time.
For the high levels and end game content, do the same thing explore mode (scaled the same) but gets 1 token for a level (lets use AC again) a level 35 item per path, so you do all 3 paths you get 3 pieces of gear, but make each patch give a different token, so a level 70+ can use all the paths tokens to turn in to get a level 70+ exotic.
So the level 80 will have to do all 3 paths to get 1 piece of gear, that means that level 80 will have to do all 3 paths 6 times for a armor set, as of right now that is the same amount of gameplay needed to farm that 1200 tokens.
IMO this is a much better way to do dungeons and I feel all players will benefit from this.

People have been suggesting this for that long? I see….I guess that means this is one of those issues Arena Net is going to completely ignore.
To be fair, the gates do show you where they are going but you need to be very close and be holding control down.

It’s almost completely useless and it is completely inconvenient / wasted effort. If you are going to take the time to do a job, do it right. Make the signs bigger and not so we have to hold ctrl down.
I assume you’re talking about world events. They are not “once per character” but once per account.
And they don’t limit how you play. If you want to kill Tequatl 50 times as day you can. You just don’t get the guaranteed rare. Play however you want, but stop complaining about not being able to farm.

His information is not wrong (except for the 50 times teq thing, that’s obviously an exaggeration, get over it reaver). You(reaver) failed to tell us exactly what you are talking about and instead chose to give a generalization which forces us to guess as to what you are talking about.

are you talking about the sky? the ocean? the water? your hair? your emotions? What are you trying to convey to us?
I doubt they will do implement this. Why: The devs already stated they want it to take a while to get ascended gear ( aka you have something to do, aka keep you logging on and spending money). The “gear treadmill” in wow was for this reason IMO, anet just didn’t discover it until now…. (not saying they’re doing worse, just a different way to approach the goal of keeping people logging on)

Oh I don’t doubt it, the lack of professionalism / common courtesy among anet employees is stunning. Just because they are behind a computer screen they think they can be rude or unprofessional ( there are exceptions of course).

What the heck is the OP so concerned about, anyway? Ectos are “too low”..? Too low for what?
Everyone needs ectos, either for exotics or for some of the ascended craftables. Anyone concerned with a Legendary weapon literally needs hundreds of them, in addition to a kitten-ton of everything else. How does it make the game better to make ectos nefariously hard to come by? And if you no longer get a guaranteed rare from any world boss events, then you will have far less people doing them or even visiting those zones.
Frankly, it just seems like you have some ectos to spare, and want to make more gold off of your sales.
Ectos are far too easy to get. That’s the point. The market is going to get even more flooded with them. The devs have stated they like ecto as a currency. It’s not going to be a currency of value, if it keeps getting inflated.
As title says, stop closing threads without leaving a reason. Let’s all try to be mature adults / professionals.
Stop the guaranteed rares, the price of Ecto is dropping. Also, make more useful items with ecto to raise the prices again. 23 S for ecto is insanely low, too low.

I agree with OP. Every new account should be given one server transfer ( aka one freebie) everyone else got a lot of time to “figure out” where they wanted to end up. But given the current circumstance, my advice is to do what Zorby said, re-roll. I know it seems like it takes a long time to get to 21 but when you reroll you will get there a lot faster, trust me. Piece of advice, do all the starting area map completion zones first ( just doing three fully should get you to 30-50… such a wide space because I did do some WvW in there)
there is a reason: each dungeon has its own bag of wonderous goods (BoWG). e g AC’s BoWD have ac tokens. cofBoWG has cof tokens etc etc
The wubwub shouldn’t count for world completion for the same reason the Mists and dungeons don’t, it’s not part of the actual world map.

I think a 10-Man would be a good way for Arenanet to introduce larger scaled content. Similar to that of Urgoz and The Deep (Horse has been beaten to death). The argument’s against this suggestion are simply unfounded; No one know’s exactly how this will pan out just because it’s 10 and not 5 doesn’t mean it will be a mess. Also doesn’t mean that it will be difficult to find a group for and if it did so what? Cadecus Manor take’s a heck of a long time to find people for does that mean the dungeon shouldn’t be in the game?
At the end of the day 10-man group’s will be a good way for Arenanet to emphasize that not only do they want to make the game fun for casual gamer’s but to the people who like challenging content with a large group of friend’s or strangers.(Got to make friend’s somehow) It doesn’t mean the content is classic “Raiding”, It doesn’t mean that the content will have a gear grind.

oh no no 10+ man content. at least nothing instanced. I am fine with the stuff in world that is built in mind with 20-30 people at least showing up like the dragons.
But larger raids have always been the bane of my MMO existance for the simple fact i have a life and a job. I would get to run raids in past games if i was luck once a month( and thats before marriage when i could game every day) they take far too long to get everyone there and set up. sorry but most people don’t have time for a 4-6 hour event that raids genreally devolve into with an hour of just getting all together and determining who is going and then actually slogging thru the content for the next hour or so(more if there is any wipes). It just flies in the face of how the devs have stated they want the game to be something you can pick up for 20-30 min and put down again. and yes it unlikely you would go for a dungeon in that time but it is possible to run and clear a dungeon in under 30 minutes.
do not cut off content from players simpley becuase they dont have the endless free time or commitment to be in a large enough guild that can man 10,20 or 40 man raid dungeons
You would still get the gear. In GW2, gear is from merchants, not boss drops so in otherwords, it is not mandatory to do a 10+ raid, just more tokens, money and fun for people that do (and more time invested)
All new stuff in dungeons is going to be hard for the first few days. We see it all the time with new content – people fail and get knocked down when they aren’t used to that sort of thing, and they claim it is too difficult.
Give it a week or so for everyone to develop strategies, learn encounters, and build fundamentals, and they will claim it is too easy. Trust me when I say this, the numbers are punishing (but less than they were before), but knowing the mechanics will greatly mitigate the danger.Did you guys play test with a group of 35s in level 35 gear? As much as I personally love the changes, it seems to be a bit rougher, especially if the group is at or close to the minimum stated requirements for the dungeon.
With all the bugs in the new patches / dungeons Anet releases, you seriously think they play test it? HAHAHAHAHA
Edit: Of course they do test them, but they are just terrible at their jobs as they would rather release sloppy work than take the proper time to do it right. Amateurs.

This is the first MMO that PUNISHED the players in loot rewards if players tried to farm.
In general, lot of players would enjoy, motivate themselves to go kill mobs in hope of receiving some good loots. Not in this game, loot drops nerfed, DR cap. So if you stay at one place, killing 1 type of mob or repeating the same dungeon for over 2 hours (CoF p1,) you will hit the ceiling fast.I never saw MMO in the past that restricted players from farming, instead they encouraged players to go farm. I know some players do not like farming but some players do like. People may say because of bots so ANet nerf’ed the loots. That is a lame reason. Bots will exist in any MMO, nerf’ed loots, DR cap will only hurt the real players not bots.
Nerf’ed loots to solve bots problem showed that ANet had no clue on how to deal with bots. They just slammed out a dirty quick fix which in return hurts their own player base.
Only reason for game that nerf, cap the loot table is they run out of things to offer to players. They are afraid of players reaching the top and obtain all goodies way too fast (if they spent time farming)
This game will never grow into legendary term as MMO’s Killer. I am afraid if the game continues in this trend (bugs not fixed, nerfs everywhere) then the only player left to play this game at the end of the year 2013, is dev.
To Dev: I still have hope in this game, please don’t shatter my hope.

Reason: You clearly did not play Gw1. They nerfed about every build that allowed you to farm solo ( Under world especially… the w/rt got nerfed a lot, along with others ). IMO I think they want you to farm in groups…but hey I could be wrong.

This bug usually happens when:
1. its takes too long to reach the main objective
2. the NPC died too much and not rezzing them
3. Skipping trash mobs.
4. This happens to us frequently when we start killing spider queen and kholer.
5. When doing speedruns (15-20mins) skipping everything thats not part of the main objective this rarely happens unless we met the number 2(the npc dieing too much)Note: this is for both path 1 and path 2
I don’t know what kind of speed runs you are doing if it’s taking you 20 mins to run path2 skipping spider and kohler. I kill spider and kohler and it’s taken me 19-22 mins.
I feel like you are posting this because you have not yet been able to complete a dungeon. So you are saying that everyone should suffer because YOU cannot do something. YOU are entitled to your monthly. MONTHLIES should include only part of the game not the entire thing. Did I miss anything?
Tired of Pugs? Whispher me, I started a dungeon Group (22 people, across 5 servers and multiple guilds, atm). Dungeons every night 7:30 central, play with pretty much the same 20 faces, only do LFG if not enough people are available online.
How about, YOU FIND a group that doesn’t run past the mobs because YOU don’t find running fun. How about I FIND a group that does run past mobs because I don’t find wasting my time fun.

I formed a dungeon group for people who want to do dungeons, it’s a community friends list of friendly people who are willing to learn dungeons or willing to lead them. Anet has a goal of making dungeons harder, no way points during combat is the first of it. Pick up groups will be very fustrating in the near future as you will most likely get those incompetent people. Join our group now and be able to do dungeons with ease while others fail. Fringe of Sanity Dungeon Group [FoSd]is a Non-Representing “Guild”. It is a Community Friends List of people who like to do dungeons. Currently we have 22 members, across the servers Eredon Terrance, Gates of Madness, Kaineng and Tarnished Coast.
What we Do: Every day (or almost) we run dungeons together, usually at 7:30 Central.
Why should I join when there is Gw2lfg? Gw2lfg is great idea but it lacks stability. Will I get competent members? Will I get a fail group? Does everyone know what to do?Anet is focused on making dungeons harder. It is imperative to start getting competent and reliable partners to do dungeons, this is where we fall in.
[FoSd] is a non-repping guild (This started so I could still be an officer of my current guild, and so that leader’s of other guilds will promote [FoSd] and not be scared of losing members. This concent has grown the guild signficantly, as leaders tell their members about us. Please DO NOT REPRESENT US, as we are across servers it does not make sense to, we are just a list of friendly people, but of course you can if you want to. With [FoSd] there are ranks specific to dungeons.
General: The founder, I am currently working on Dungeon Master. As of right now I can run groups through multiple dungeons and I am willing to learn all dungeons.
The colonel is the co-founder, with Captains being my trusted officers who recruit (We are currently across 4+ guilds).
Dungeon leader is a member who has completed all paths of every dungeon and can competently and nicely teach anyone who has not done a certain path before.
Sergeant is a member who frequently comes to events AND they have all story modes done..
Corporal is someone who has all story modes done ( this is important because if only one person has Story Mode done, and they lag out, everyone gets kicked out)
Privates are people who have not done every story mode yet.
We are looking for People who are:
Friendly players who are either willing to teach or learn dungeons. All members must be willing to use our ventrilo service, so communicating is not an issue.
After we hit about 50 members, we plan to stop recruiting and be a closed group. Why? So that our initial reason of making a dungeon group is not lost. We want to have a large player base of competent people to run dungeons with as anet has promised to make dungeons even more harder than not being able to way point back during combat.

I kinda like being in overflow. That’s how a met this dude from another server (LFG AC EM), and started a guild with him. Pretty cool, I don’t like seeing some of the same names over and over again.

Allow player trading. A guildie wants an item I have and I don’t want it. I want to cut him a deal, half way between both ordered and supplied costs. I go up to him but I can’t trade. Instead I have to mail it to him and hope he sends me the money…?
