All I remember was the wave of insults that came from offering commanders free leadership/commanding courses for WvW as well as basics on usual tactics. People know it all, but when a commander calls for something, only 1 or 2 play properly.

And what is playing properly? From the tone in your comments I am assuming YOUR way is the proper way, but I think it would help everyone if you would explain what proper play is.

You accuse others of being know-it-alls but if you were objective and read your comments and tone on this thread, you are one of those same types of people you accuse.

If you have been on SF long and know any of our core WvW folks, you would know we are always trying to improve our WvW skills. So if you come into it with good faith we would respond in kind. Come at us with disrespect, well, you will get the same disrespect you give.

How about instead of the passive-aggressive posts on the GW2 forums, you come onto our server’s forums and have a positive dialog explaining what you would like to do and how you would like to do it. I am an officer in our server’s training guild and would love for you and your guys to come show us how to improve our communications and strategy. We hold our training sessions Monday nights and have had many commanders and non-commanders (even those not in the training guild) teach us different strategies and communication ideas. And if you are running the training that night you could even get those people into your VoIP to see how it operates.

What it comes down to is this. No matter what VoIP or forums we use, everyone on SF would benefit from everyone at least TRYING to get along. At this point I really do NOT care about the finger pointing about who started what and who was responsible for any insults hurtled from any direction. What we all should care about is finding some way to work together. If that means separate VoIP for separate groups, then so be it. That is fine as long as we agree to try to work together. The rest will all fall into place as long as we try.

All of us want our server to improve and compete in the Bronze League. In the end, we all want the same result, we just differ on how to get there. If we can all just be mature (please understand, I am talking about everyone, not pointing fingers at anyone here) and keep the fact in mind that we all want the same end result, we can get this done. It won’t be smooth, changing things and getting people to see better ways never is easy. So let us work together to make it as smooth and easy as it can/could be. I am more than willing to meet with you in game and run with you and learn the things you are trying to teach.

Just transfer on over to ET. We all get along like gangbusters, no drama lamas up in here, and we all use a common TS. Our common TS has saved us soooooooooooooo many times. I cannot ever imagine going back to a fractured server voice coms setup ever again. I promise only to troll you minimally on TS and /map.

Edit: Ohhh and we have lots and lots and lots of very gorgeous ladies. Seriesly we have the most hot ladies of any server in GW2.

That is miserable and I bet those out there are just trying take objectives as fast as they can and run and hide from the zerg. For those out there fighting, keep it up, its almost over! Kaineg will blow the doors off the bronze league due to its coverage. Even if Kaineg had an exodus even a small contingent of oceanics will gobble up the PPT in all potential matchups. None of the other servers in bronze have any really significant off-peak coverage. The outcome of the next matchup will tell us a lot! Friday will be awesome!

ET really is home. I played on ET from the beginning, rode the rise and fall of the server into oblivion. After the fall I struggled here for many months and left to find greener pastures on other servers. I fought on several other servers, played with some of the best guilds in the game and ultimately decided to come back to ET. The ET community really is second to none. It speaks volumes that many of the old school ET veterans of the rise, fall, and struggle that ultimately left have come back once again. Seriously, almost all of the old core of the server has returned over the past couple of months. ET is a server that is built from a solid core community that has that never say die attitude that is hard to find anywhere else. We have many seasoned core commanders, very high usage of community teamspeak, great server wide cooperation, and many other great aspects I could pine on endlessly about…

I like to think of the lack of participation this week as resting up for leagues. We have had really great participation for quite some time. Having a down week before the start of the league season will allow everyone to be rested up and ready to own face come Friday night! The server is gonna be a rockin! The tequila will be out, tunes will be jammin, and the good times will be rolling.

Hmmm I feel much better having shifted my focus away from this matchup and the craptastic Elementalist changes.

No doubt ET is seeing some very nice levels of participation this week. I think this has less do with leagues and more to do with it being a favorable matchup. Gotta love that winning bandwagon effect. Being able to steamroll through all of the opposing keeps/garrisons during primetime is groovy good times, who wouldn’t want to drop PvE for a couple hours to do that for loads of free WxP and map completion.

Its been nice to be back in action after a 2 week vacation. Fun somewhat even matchup thus far. I guess its always more fun beating people up rather than getting stuffed into lockers and being swirly jobbed by the big dogs in the john. Really enjoyed commanding Sunday afternoon whilst imbibing excessive amounts of 1800 Anejo. I don’t remember a lot of the details other than we killed lots and lots of people and I shouted TEQUILA too many times for anyones good. Let the good times roll.

Get your guild and accept the challenge. GvG skills differ greatly than 1v1.

I have grown accustomed to fighting guild groups in the open field the past couple of months. We have really enjoyed learning and getting better at open field combat. Lots of impromptu GvG if you will. This aspect has been sorely missing in this matchup. On top of that, we are actually winning. So I am pretty much bored. I am tired of chasing Ferg into towers. I am also tired of killing golems, lots and lots of golems. I killed upwards of 20 golems commanding today. I have taken up 1vXX’ing Fergs outside ET towers and not running in to hop on arrow carts, but fighting, and well dying. Maybe I am just a cranky old man. Yes, yes I am.

That Ferg Bay fight was absurdly hilarious. Ferg you are right [IoM] just does not have the patience to widdle away at T3 defended keeps full of supply and defenders. Its just not something we are good at, and I am glad for that honestly. I want to kill, and move, and kill some more, and move, move, kill. I can’t sit around all night keeping supplies cut, destroying siege, and slowly draining that supply. That’s not my jam. My jam was killing Ferg over and over and over again during that kitten siege. I had to drop merchants twice to unload my bags. I guess I killed those 6 Ferg defenders 15x each. Sorry for your repair bills, I really must salute your persistence.

I usually don’t chest bump or win 2v1s! That is hard against people who aren’t complete morons. But I will comment and say that Warlord is full of crap which is clear to pretty much everyone, even one of your server mates.

I can’t believe that both FC & DR are double teaming ET. That’s the only reason why we’re at 130 PPT.

Obviously ET has superior fighters and have better coordination over voicechat. FC and DR are total noobs at teamspeak. L2play.

Belle, I will give you an A for effort, but overall a B- troll. Ynot on the other hand is in D- territory seeing as no intriguing elements were included in the troll post. A simple “anananananan boo boo” would have been more succinct and to the point.

3. More funnies, perhaps adding a yo mamma joke, internet cat meme, animated gif of some random person turning their head or making a funny face.
4. More insults, directly attack your target, but do not directly address your target to avoid forum infractions.
5. More entertainment, don’t be boring. No one likes boring posts, or ones intended to be straight to the point and hurtful. Being mean just isn’t good WvW trolling form. Forums are entertainment, don’t ever forget that.
6. More made up facts, backup your points with made up facts. Made up facts will help sway the reader into see your viewpoint.

Here is what I see right now….

ET does have a number of fair weather karma trainers out in force for this matchup. We did have less numbers out on the field last week when we were other other side of the coin….outgunned and coveraged against IoJ. My WvW rank thanks everyone out and about this week!

ET definitely has grown slowly and steadily over the past few months. On average we field more people in WvW than we ever have since the “glory days.”

ET right now has a great group of commanders and leaders on the server. The growth in use of TS has been amazing for our coordination. It also makes WvW tons of fun! Our TS gets as much use on a daily basis as I have seen up in T2/3. Really our ability to communicate to defend and then back up each other offensively is amazing. Improve coordination and working together as a server has been a key source of our improved Glicko rating.

There has been a homecoming taking place for a lot of old time ex-ET’ers. A lot of the old core WvW leaders/veterans have been coming back. I love it, its so great seeing many old friends return and get to play with them in a decent WvW situation for the first time!

ET also also drawn a lot of onesy-twosies from other servers. The last few weeks I have seen folks in LA professing their love for the ET community upon their transfer over. Some of these folks have been PvX’ers, PvE’ers, and WvW’ers. I have enjoyed meeting new folks and welcoming them to our community.

There have also been historically PvE guilds stepping foot into WvW for the first time. We have been helping these folks get acclimated to WvW and making them feel welcome. It is great showing people that WvW is serious bidness, but also lots of fun as well. The random madness both in TS and on the field is quite addicting.

What we have not had on ET is an influx of WvW guilds from other servers. The growth has been slow and mostly organic which has been wonderful IMO. So there haven’t been too many growing pains. I suspect that eventually we will see an influx of WvW guilds to ET. I hope we handle these growing pains with the grace and patience once we are confronted with them.

I don’t think any guilds are transferring now. However I think once folks experience the new WvW seasons there may be a lot of shuffling. When that shuffling cursors I like to think that ET will be an attractive destination server for serious WvW guilds looking to be part of our community.

Turned out to be one of the best week in forum wars in quite some time. I’ve been crack in up non stop. Looks like MEND got pushed off the GW2 forum map due to excessive damage to reputation. 2 server full map queue decided to take them to task. They will now proceed to build arrow carts and QQ in the safety of their private forums. Thankfully for them that location is invulnerable.

I just think it is pretty funny that some people act all high and mighty and put on some phoney baloney public persona and then go through back channels to talk trash about you. Its all good tho, its gotten resulted in many laughs over the months and speaks volumes about their character. Eventually their true character shines through that public holier than thou public persona. Its made for great forum entertainment this matchup thread I must say!!! I guess some people run from fights and hide in keeps with arrow carts(or transfer servers in shame) while others man up face to face on the field.

Although I did find troll video about trolls pretty funny. We are leaving a server due to trolls, here is our troll video complaining about trolls on our way out. True masterpiece I say!

GOM I bet it feels good to have your spawn tower back. 2vs20+ with 3pieces of siege. Two manned that tower and defended it non-stop for a good hour+. How much siege did we destroy. Lost count. My tender heart goes out to those remaining on DR. There are what, maybe 6 of you left? IoM did serious pvdough through the entire DR BL last night. I tip my hat to that 1 DR thief who kind of stalked around to watch the devastation. Even akittens lowest point ET was able to field a few defenders to try their hardest to keep the fight up. Those were all T2 keeps…. I am afraid it will be a very long road back to competitiveness for DR. ET took its fall what like 10 months ago now…we are almost getting close to being decent now.

IOJ at first I thought you had nothing but PUG garbage during NA prime. It seems that you do have a few decent guilds that run. So I almost respect you now. [HARD][CORE] I enjoy you guys. But your ocean playerbase seriously has got a bad case of the no-skill or tactics bred into them from ubiquitous pvdough’in. My favorite was destroying 6 or more golems at SW garrison with a cannon that had no bidness being up given the omega golems that could have destroyed it. Hey there is this cannon killing all the golems…ehhhhh whateva…just keep hitting that gate. There was a break in through the outer…but then deer and the headlights happened because all the golems were dead. I guess there was no adpatability or creativity amongst those 30 dudes. Seems to be a problem with all the ocean crews…same as I saw on SoS/BG.

Also, Perhaps there is something about Mend that people just cant forget about, so they need to mention us at least once a week? (Runamok ‘cough cough’ get over it) When we are outnumbered we build siege, we were running 20 people last night against 35 as a low estimate given by your commander, though we think it was about 50 if not more. So yes, open field balistas QQ more.

[MEND] drops a minimum of 3 arrow carts and 4 balistas when they roll deep to take on the Hylek. After their 25 guys, 3 arrow carts, and 4 balistas finish up the major battle for the Hylek. You gotta put up trebs to work on taking out Golanta. 7 trebs and firing on staggered rotation so that the veterans cannot heal up between treb shots. Serious coordination is required.

It’s OK, those NPC’s can be scary business. Ive had more nightmares over the Hylek battles than from the first time I watched Poltergeist and dreamt about my TV turning on and getting sucked into the TV nether. I guess what I am saying is, there is no situation that doesn’t call for siege, open field pvp, open field npc, and of course towers. You gotta have 739 arrow carts per tower. Its just the [MEND] way. Why fight when you can arrow cart.

And of course I love you Flabby. Not many challenge for the place you hold so dearly in my heart of hearts.

Ohhh and we all know Kaineg only 50 man zergs. Never 49 or 53 man zerg. Only 50 man zergs. Next time I will screenshot and count the dots, there will be 50.

Commanded 5+ hours yesterday afternoon EST. kitten was boring as hell. First order was push out HoD and take back ET BL. Got everything upgraded. Moved into a blank canvas EB. 50 man Kaineg karma train going for hours and hours. ET had maybe 15 in EB. Re-cap our 1/3rd, get some siege up only to have 50 main Kaineg zerg finish karma training HoD’s 1/3rd and come back into ET’s 1/3rd. Lost our keep a couple times even with tons of siege. GG Omega Golem Wars 2.

Eventually ET got some numbers and I was sieging the kitten out of the inner keep. Killed more Kaineg Omegas and drove them back from our EB keep a couple of times. Then ET’s doldrum hours hit and HoD make the standard early EST prime push. You guys need to bring BC back, he would have 395794375+ Omega’s rolling in ET BL 24×7 with these firesale prices. We then loose all of EB and struggle to keep our kitten together in ET BL. Then ET primetime hits and we go about murdering fools. Last night was the best effort I’ve seen HoD during EST prime. Strong showing fellas.

50 man Kaineng zerg? Maybe I’m just not in EB enough but it’s been awhile since I’ve seen Kaineng have those kind of numbers, especially on a map that we pretty much own. Next time you see one, please take a screen shot so we can use it to motivate our PvE guys to join again

Im not hatin’ on your 50 man zergs. I will run a 50 man zerg all night long. I love me some 50 man zergs. ET has had some decent sized zergs recently. It isn’t about how big your zerg is its all in how use it. And I haven’t seen anything from Kaineg to show me they know anything but gradeschool schoolyard WvW yet. You guys are boring as kitten to fight. Perhaps I should start up my Commander Tactics 101 class again. I figured at Rank 14 you guys would be able to step right into Commander Tactics 102. Unfortunately you must have received some trailer park homeschool education. It’s OK tho, I can work to help anyone, no matter the challenge. Just hit me up.

On the flipside, the more we play HoD the more I like it. HoD knows how to play. Im no fan of Mend but I enjoy their penchant for always building open field siege before any potential almost maybe fight. VSL on the other hand fights, fights some more, they don’t seem to give a kitten about winning or losing or outnumbered, big ups to them. CNB you guys are fun to fight too.

I hosted a Pants Off, Dance Off party the other night in the ET BL ruins after we finished retaking it. And then while I was standing their pants off, dance off’ing while AFK some thief tried to gank me. Luckily Kodar was being my bodyguard and we killed that thief sans pants. Did you know you get 2 bags per kill if you do it while pants off, dance off’ing?

Roamers are a commanders best friend when they actively communicate what they see is going on via /map or TS. But it tough nuts to replace a solid experienced commander.

But not when they all think that they are Gods gift to WvW. We had a commander tag who told me that “Attacking is more important than defending” (by which he meant that he should smash his face against a t1 Durious instead of defending the t3 Bravost.)

I had a guy(a commander) the other day call me an idiot for not retaking the Dredge before retaking Wildcreek because there was no way to defend Rogues Quarry without the Dredge. Rogues Quarry had to be free from the Dredge menance!

This was a time when I was commanding severely outgunned mid-day EST. So I was scrambling to defend or take back our T1 towers the best I could. All while hoping to offensive ninja some T3 along the way. I got a hearty laugh out of it, but everyone has their own ideas about how to best play WvW. Mine just doesn’t include putting the lockdown on NPC’s. NPC’s > towers for lyphe bro.

Et doesnt seem to have the issues with numbers that people have complained about I watched a 30+ man zerg on at a time when neither of the other 2 servers had 10 on the map. The ET zerg managed to take 1 tower and 2 camps and then lost them within 10 mins. This ET zerg spent at least 15 mins chasing our 3 man XOXO group around and failing to log any kills and getting us 20 stacks on our sigils. They chose to chase u instead of taking an unguarded Bay.

The more I play against ET the more I realize it isn’t solely a numbers issue. Running from even number fights, chasing small groups with 30 man zergs, and making no effort to use their players in an efficient manner to gain more points.

Your server could have twice its current population and without upgrading the quality of players you will always be bottom bracket server.

But you are right, we do have many folks who run off chasing stragglers because they smell blood. It is one of my pet peeves when commanding when this happens. Or when attacking a tower, people run off to take a camp without dropping their supply into siege first. Especially when I didn’t even want to take the camp until after a cap…

This week has been… interesting. What I mean by that is we have some New (ish) tags running around who feel like bigshots and are making questionable decisions. I am mostly speaking about EB, for reference. Its okay that people are learning, but the engine is running less smoothly than normal. If i were to give an opinion I would say that one of NSP’s problems is that we have WAY too many tags running around. (i have not even run for my tag for days, as it just adds to the confusion imo)

I do enjoy my server, and i think it could go far in WvW, assuming people stop talking kitten to each other and focus on killing the opponents.

Multiple tag confusion thankfully has not been a big issue here on ET. We have more of the opposite problem. We sometimes go quite a while during the day EST without any tags on any BL’s. During EST prime its usually the same familiar faces leading the charge. But the few times multiple tags are up you see people in /map getting all riled up.

Running multiple tags can actually be a really great thing, if done properly. Solid inter-commander communication for hitting multiple objectives and also coming together to back each other up. Even better are guild alliances to do the same thing tagless. It could be incredibly effective here because servers in this level aren’t accustomed to having to defend on multiple fronts. Bring 3 15 man teams to a BL with 2 golems/team rushing keeps all at once would prolly net you 2/3 T3 keeps on most nights. But noobmanders aren’t going to be doing any of that bidness. I remember times on SoR where there would be 5 tags running on a BL and that kitten was beastly. Granted much higher pops on SoR. We don’t have no 5 commander full map queue luxury here.

Some of us (mend) will definitely open field with you guys; however that really isn’t a core focus of our guild. We tend to pick a place, cap what we can, and then try to hold on to them as long as possible.

Last night I missed ETBL completely and logged on while we were homeland defense. After Flappy logged those of us still online ran into IOM by the sentry at the south camp. It is fair to say they were far more organized and compact than our group. Has IOM made open field a priority over all else? That is, do you cap then mostly go out and try to catch the other guys in transit instead of bunkering in?

Anyway, I’ll keep an eye out for you. I’m also asuran and have been using my mesmer last night and this morning.

Also I really like the fight I had with an nsp thief outside of redlake this morning. And the xoxo mesmer duo around hod garrison this morning. You guys are tough and I had to switch builds to try and compete.

I don’t speak for [IOM]. I pity the guild that would let me speak for them. I am just some random scrub that has just joined the guild. I just know I like open field fighting such as that encounter at the zerguins sentry last night. Especially when you have an organized guild group. However the best way to get fights is to take enemy structures of high value. I don’t feel that open field and PPT have to be mutually exclusive objectives. I like some variety myself. But I know for sure I would be bored out of my mind turtling a tower all night. AC #1, AC#2, AC#3, AC#1, AC#1 followed up by Treb#1, Treb#1, Treb#1 for hours along with escourting dolyaks isn’t my jam. Movement is king in my book. To each their own, everyone has their own playstyle preferences. Except for PAXA, dem PAXA’s, I will forever stand in judgement over thee playstyle preferences, but only because its fun to do so given their zealotry.

ET is definitely picking up some very nice momentum. Our NA Prime PST presence has been balls deep this weekend. Lots of people showing up to play consistently and they are getting on community TS and coordinating with our commanders very well. We have some really experienced commanders leading on a nightly basis. Lots of work to be done, but I get lots of good vibes. GO ET, get your boogie on!

I joined Immortals of the Mist [IOM]. Sorry I didn’t get to play with you Flabby in ETBL I was commanding EB at the time. But I did join up with the [IOM] dudes and scored some [MEND] bags for a bit. Lots of others mixed in too. Some fun fights there before I turned into a pumpkin for the night. More open field and less turtle tower OK?

I sometimes get the impression that ET is seriously broken and has issues that are completely incurable at this point outside ANET having a “special transfer weekend” where it opens up 50 free transfers to the bottom server.
