ET isn’t a glamorous bandwagon, but it does have a small tight knit community of tryhards. Fertile ground to grow a small WvW focused guild and learn. Lots of opportunity to roam around if that is your thing. It looks and feels like ET is on another small upswing in WvW again.

ET, we are beyond pathetic. Seriously, seriously bad play. We don’t deserve to hold onto anything with how bad we are. The past two weeks have been horribly pathetic and I just can’t emphasize enough how bad we are playing.

Tip 1: Build rams when they are placed. They do more damage than you shooting the gate.

Tip 2: Build the cats when they are placed. They do damage to walls, you do NOT. Quit fighting the kitten wall for 2 minutes before using your supply.

Tip 3: Build defensive siege. When a place is being attacked, especially a tower, and 15 of us are defending the commander should NOT have to build all 3 superior arrow carts by himself. That is beyond pathetic and we deserve to lose if you continue doing that.

Tip 4: Learn how to place siege, for the love of god don’t place arrow carts where they can easily be hit, you just use up valuable supply.

Tip 5: Defend!!!!! If you are called to get somewhere, get there. Do not wait until the enemy zerg of 50 arrives and you can’t get in.

This isn’t rocket science, it’s basic common sense. I guess the best I can do is wish you luck, cause we have no skill.

Gilkin cannot go anywhere, I think he tried once to some other scrub server. I think Vondie’s milkshakes brought him back to the yard. That and all the plastic buckets, shovels, and cool things to build ramparts for sand castles in the sandbox. Gilkin loves sand castles. He starred in that reality tv sand castle building show. He built a 6000 sqft Pulte sand mcmansion. kitten had fancy sand countertops, and a sand jacuzzi master suite.

Guys, Guys. ET is the Kingdom of roamers. As a roamer, I only use siege as tombstones for my fallen foes. That may be why you see bad siege placement everywhere.

We had a great 4v4 GvG with TV today. Thank you for the good fights and being good sports.

Bad siege placement? I am the siege placing master. I see a few servers trying to learn from my siege placement, but they mostly get it wrong.

I love solo roaming on my zerg support staff ele. I mostly just let people chase me forever. It is most hilarious when I actually kill someone, I consider it a feat of enormous ineptitude on their part. I can’t kill anything that isn’t terribad.

Commanded EB from 9AM – 3PM EST and lost to GoM once. You popped ojays all over the EB that entire time. I was the one following you all over the map /beckon’ing you. You must be one of those too good for EB super GoM WvW’ers tho and missed all that.

And man GoM was throwin a constant faildown at WildCreek all day long. I even tried to help you guys turn it back to paper. I went there out of pity to help your server and got repaid with a backdoor at Durios at which you got wiped for the maybe the 15th time. I rejoiced for you once you finally flipped it.

Like we’ve all been saying all along. Bronze league is the most competitive league. It’s the only league that you don’t know the results before leagues even start.

I feel a little bad for NSP & IoJ since they got trapped in Silver league.

Killed100 with 30 people , its constantly satisfying up here, The skill level really does start to drop the higher you get. Only coordination gets better.

Oh, the old Mend bunkering… Where are mah trebs?!

Also I agree the level of skill on the higher servers is kinda pathetic… On SF/YB/ET week, Yak’s only won a fight when they heavily outnumbered us (which was 99,5% of the time). On even fights, they were a joke…

Been open fielding fighting rather then bunkering recently actually. Its just sad how fast they run when you smash into them.

I really want to see this! Ive never seen an open field fight with Mend sans-arrow carts. New Mend sounds interesting. I certainly hope this is true because I am just one of those old fashioned geezers who likes to man up and fight. No chairs like the Million Dollar Man would use in the ring. No lead pipes Tonya Harding style. No rolls of quarters.

HoD is going to roll over SF. I would actually prefer to see it the other way around, so hopefully my instincts are off. In the end I see it as HoD, SF, DH. That third spot is the most competitive.

ET really got hosed with 2 really tough matchups to start the league. Also we had been really pushing hard the few weeks leading up to the league season. A combination of burn-out and a tough time dealing with adversity early on tripped us up. Things seem like they might be headed back in the right direction now tho. I hope anyways!

As the season progresses I think there will be a dropoff for other servers and ET will see an uptick. In the end we will be competitive despite the rough start. Also we have been working to adapt tactics to the league system. In the end we will also play a lot smarter.

And the second place server is going to always get smashed hard in the league setup. It makes full sense for the big dog to TKO their competition early in the matchup and the 3rd place server to put the pressure on to ninja second.

It is a very boring thread. It is a fun matchup the past few weeks. We’ve been doing the most kittened things.

KN & GoM, teach your PvE zerglings to fight better. I’m going to forget how to fight at this rate.

Enjoyed resetting the entirety of DR BL yesterday evening EST. ET commander tag party did some serious pvdough action. 8 people with 6 tags for the lulz. Seriously, the pvdough action was insane. So many great non-fights flipping those upgraded keeps and towers. It was nice for DR to finally show up to try and retake their Garrison just to get pwned by all the siege we built using all of your supply and then to follow that up by a trouncing by the HoD megazerg. We tried to hold your Garrison DR but those pesky HoD eventually got their Alpha golem up and took us out.

I am at the “let’s have fun” point in this matchup. I just want some sexy funtime with no strings attached. People are getting all serious and frustrated up this bidness. Im not lookin to get all tied down with a mcmansion, 2 suvs, 2.5 kids and 3.5 goldfish. Its time to go out to the club and get crunked and nail some strange kind of week. Seriously lets have some fun the rest of the week ET!

Get crazy, let loose, and relax. And most importantly use protection. You never know what kind of kittens you might run into out their on the battlefield.

Congrats on your body count! I’m sitting on just shy of 47K kills myself, and it seems like the 50K mark is taking forever to get to. However, this matchup has been doing very well for my rank progression. My morning roaming before I need to bail out for work got me to rank 912 :P

40k is pretty tight. I am around 34k but most of those had to be from running around with FoE and Agg playing Farm Wars 2. A lot less bags to be farmed here, but things have been getting better since leagues started up. The one thing I miss is all the guilds running tagless with 15-40 doing their own thing and the fights that would ensue. Its been a lot of megablog vs. megablob. Ohhh our blob isn’t mega enough to handle that megablob, call in reinforcements. Did have some nice fights against WvW or whatever last night in ETBL at the spawn.

Edit: I like BIG FIGHTS and I will not lie. No other brotha can deny! Get sprung! No idea, this just came into my brain…

I like the league WvW system thus far. My only gripe is that the league system forces us to play toward PPT maximization. I like variety in WvW gameplay. Sometimes I want to do pointless stupid non-PPT focused things while in WvW. Those Crimson Moa’s need to be spawn camped out side of EBG Overlook with trebs, balistas, and arrow carts at times. All Crimson Moas Must Die. The PPT grind gets old after a while. So far it hasn’t been an issue, but this league season is pretty long.

No, I wasn’t pointing anyone out and appreciate all the efforts they are making. But we can do much better if we stop arguing and set up our priorities for maximizing PPT. This is leagues season 1, every small thing we do adds up. Hope we put our team work and determination above considering we are poor in terms of coverage and commanders aren’t present 24/7.

Well, to give you all some explanation, perspective and history with regards to COSA I will post a few things.

I have been on SF since early launch, and a little bit in the open beta before then. When the game launched there were free transfers available. Guilds stacked, came and went onto and off SF at a very rapid pace and our server went from top to bottom to top to bottom again on an almost weekly basis. I and few other players decided to stick it out and not transfer, hence I have left those guilds long ago.

Finally just before the transfers got locked down, 90%+ of the wvw / spvp players have left SF. This has left us with literally 20-30 of us runing in all 4 WvW maps. I kid you not. There really were maybe 20 of us tops. We were getting steamrolled by everyone.

Then Oceanid (our grand guildmaster) and 1 or 2 friends of his formed COSA and went on a recruting spree. We grew to about 200 players and started to organize a little in WvW while still having a lot of new players to the game. Vast majority of our players at that time were brand new to the game and still leveling, gearing (exotics were hard to get back then) and we were still recruiting new players.

Once we reached around 400 people or around tehre a structure within our guild started to evolve, we got some more numbers into wvw and continued PvE with new players who joined us as they reached 80 and finished their PvE content.

Eventually we reached max size and at that time made the 2nd guild, Saphire, under command of Banjo Rodriguez, which later on became WvW centric, whereas COSA RED (Scarlet), remained PvX, incidentally I am a PvX player.

As our size grew those of us that stuck it out and showed some dedication became officers of our guilds and our server started to organize as such. At that time COSA Blue was not that big, it was just starting and we formed a multi-guild alliance for WvW.

As we hang out together with all our different guilds on VOIP, and guild missions merits just starting, we made a decision to help out all the small guilds with theirs, have given them temp invites, ran missions with them etc.

Eventually COSA Blue, has formed to about half its size from all the small guilds as we decided we simply love to play together for all aspects of the game and it is a lot of fun to this day. We help WvW and PVP people with the bewildering world of PvE as well as the other way around. Getting people to open up to other aspects of this game and having fun at it, is a really great thing.

Then COSA Blue went on a recruting spree of its own, and stuck it out while we had the fairweather guilds and people roll in and out of SF continuously. Eventually, COSA Blue maxed out in size just as red, so we made an overflow guild called COSA Green, then some imitation and misc other COSAs popped out. We do not mind them, and in fact play with many of them and have just as much fun

So that is today’s COSA. Yes, we have some very casual WvW players who are kinda puggy, but we also have some extremely veteraned players dating from the days when we had 20-30 of us in all of WvW. And we know all about being the underdog, even though it doesnt seem like that to many of you. Remember, we played and stuck it out and kept on climbing from the very bottom of the bottom of the bottom after all the other people abandoned us for “greener pastures”.

So that is today’s COSA, you will find groups of people in WvW that just come in for an hour or 2 every 3rd day, you will find groups of people that are super organized and can do some serious expert zerg busting (skill lag permitting), golem rushes, siege and stand-offs, and everything in between, with all skill levels in between.

When you see a COSA tag, you just never know which one it is you are running up against, hence likewise with our wins / losses.

Incidentally, COSA has also evolved a very “loose” and “take it easy” atmosphere within itself and has grown in the community.

Last but not least, COSA Red (PvX) is recruiting PvX players, mumble VOIP preferred but not required, along with 95%+ representation.

The main thing I learned here is that I should transfer over to SF to indulge in my Latina fetish. If you guys can line me up some prospects and send some bios with full body photos I promise to teach you all my WvW secrets. Ohhh and some samples of them talking dirty in spanglish would really up the ante. That kitten is hot.

Also, this is the first time Darkhaven and Eredon Terrace have ever met. Hai. It’s been a pleasure. Too bad SF keeps butting into our growing relationship. I’ve been trying to get to know you better but I think there’s about 8,000,000 CoSA who would rather skip the pleasantries and get straight to the mowing over to get to our keep lords.

How many people does CoSA have in its wings, branches, cabinets, sub-committees, and special boards? Sapphire, SoCo, Shiny, Slaphappy, kittenty, and what other S’s I am forgetting about. kitten has to operate like the Federal Gubbamint with all those people. Honestly the only tag I worry about on SF is CoSA and its because I know a whole bureaucracy full is bound to show up any time with its inane rules, special sub-section 6.1.3.a of master record 32 FTW, and gum up the whole works to the point you forgot why you even went to that objective. Even with the full bureaucracy full of people I don’t think I have seen them run as a guild only group, its always with PUGS like foreign indignitaries, Japanese pop stars, former North Korean Leaders, and last time I swear I saw Fidel Castro up in that mega-blob. With that many people its hard to tell who is naughty or nice in amongst their ranks, its just seas of red. Ohhhh well I guess its great I don’t have a conscious I like taking advantage of that lumbering bureaucracy and make away with stacks and stacks of bags.

That would only have been more fun without the skill lag. Not saying we would have taken garrison, but it would have made the fights that much more fun and might have made the 29-golem rush a success since no one could get their skills off.

Lots of us were having the exact same problem, so I doubt the outcome would have been any different. This matchup is the first time I’ve ever experienced skill lag. I think it all may have just eventually turned into a big “smash #1 fest” for a bunch of us.

My opinion is you should have let it go and gone hit other targets for PPT since now you basically managed to get 2 of the biggest SF zerg teams to work together for a while which proves to everyone involved that it can make things happen. But I guess that 25 points really has a lot of sentimental value to you guys.

What can I say…we’re a scrappy lot. Thank goodness you weren’t in charge of our defense.

We’ve pretty much been dealing with massive (and I mean MASSIVE) SF zergs (sometimes 2+) in our BL plus some pretty decently sized DH zergs simultaneously. I think ET has done a pretty stellar job holding it together vs. a couple of servers that were ranked higher than us.

Win or lose this round, I think ET can be proud of what we’ve done so far.

On another note, how does one NOT take Garrison with 29 golems. Really? I wish I was there on TS laughing my kitten off. Skill lag or not sounds like a colossal failure of epic proportions. I would quite commanding entirely if I put that kind of fail on the field or transfer servers. I hope someone built a shame ram on that commanders dead body once it was all over.

Well we melted the gates pretty easily, but when we got to the lords room the skill lag was so bad that none of the golems’ skills worked, not even the 1 skill. So the skill lag turned our army of death machines into golem death traps.

Ive been through this before. Nothing you can do but spam 5 for 15 seconds to hop and to do things the old fashioned way. Sometimes you just can’t buy victory. Gotta react to changing conditions on the battlefield. Next time bring 30 golems, at 30 golems all server lag is designed to go poof, in fact it puts you into perma timewarp mode. But anyways, I am speaking out of kitten , I wasn’t even there last night…

When we took SM for the fiftieth time that afternoon, I had a similar problem on my guardian and let me tell you, not being able to pop off shouts or your heals really puts things in a pinch for everyone. Still, had one heck of a good time duking it out with DH and ET in the ‘Fight House’.

There are some tricks to learn about epic lagfest SM menage a tois that will make your lives a easier. I won’t give them without serious convincing. Heck I haven’t even given it up to my own server yet. I held the runner at third base. I like making people earn it before putting out the good infos. Lets start with some vino, a filet and Sade and see how things progress.

This matchup has had some great 3 way battles for sure. But yesterday I just went around trolling thieves who thought my staff ele would be an easy bag. Nothing better than letting them try to kill you a few times, and then putting the hurt on them and watching them stealth run away and /wave. Almost as fun as those 100blades noob zerker warriors specced into run away.

Lots of us were having the exact same problem, so I doubt the outcome would have been any different. This matchup is the first time I’ve ever experienced skill lag. I think it all may have just eventually turned into a big “smash #1 fest” for a bunch of us.

My opinion is you should have let it go and gone hit other targets for PPT since now you basically managed to get 2 of the biggest SF zerg teams to work together for a while which proves to everyone involved that it can make things happen. But I guess that 25 points really has a lot of sentimental value to you guys.

What can I say…we’re a scrappy lot. Thank goodness you weren’t in charge of our defense.

We’ve pretty much been dealing with massive (and I mean MASSIVE) SF zergs (sometimes 2+) in our BL plus some pretty decently sized DH zergs simultaneously. I think ET has done a pretty stellar job holding it together vs. a couple of servers that were ranked higher than us.

Win or lose this round, I think ET can be proud of what we’ve done so far.

Edit: ET takes pride in protecting its homeland. We have really dedicated amazing people who queue, upgrade camps, run dolys, build siege, and refresh siege. These people are the ones that make ET great.

Biggest question of this matchup. Does anyone else have a merchant to drop? Our bags are chronically full. SM farm fest and the calls to protect the merchant were fun. As was trying to figure out what [LORD] was doing at NW outer Bay? Were you just testing out the affects of your 3 bloodlust stacks while you stood there being slaughtered?

1. You commanders go for an objective and half your forces go for a door.

2. You are not coordinating multi map efforts

3. Everyone is using there own comms

4. Your pugs aren’t trained to stack / buff / field / etc

5. Your golem strikes were not organized and drivers died to cannon fire instead of rotating out 3s (golem shield)

6. Your roamers failed to prep keeps for strikes , ie destroying cannons / oils

7. Your roamers failed to keep waypoints contested during attacks , allowing for instant reinforcements

8. Your omega drivers stacked under oils.

Yep definately numbers. You guys are so kittenen awesome.

That being said. Some of your groups have operated as a team. So those getting rolled all over the place might want to man up and talk to the commanders who made something happen.

I will want to see your superior tactics work against vastly superior numbers like Stormbluff Isle and Fort Aspenwood (The difference between their population and yours, must be the same as yours and ours)… Then I’ll accept defeat by superior tactics and not by superior numbers.

I did a search of the thread, and unless the search engine is broken, the only people using the word “superior” are those complaining about YB.

I believe any “gloating” on the YB side is based on how much “QQing” there’s been on the other and the enjoyment they continue to get from it.

A. My observation is that YB commanders had absolutely no knowledge of how to countersiege a properly defended structure. I mean literally none, total jokes. You guys need to ship those guys out to understudy on some other servers.

B. I loved rolling over huge groups of YB in the open field. Really YB has nothing in the open field. GLOB was decent but really no other guilds stood out as a real threat.

A+B=C

C. Yaks Bend is a terrible server devoid of competent commanders and solely rely on brute force for PPT domination.

Will be interesting to see who wins the brozne league and replaces NSP in silver for season #2.

The winning world need to win by a very large margin to qualify for a +200 rating jump, or its going to be a bitter sweet to win.

I predict that leagues are going to open up a Glicko gap. Those at the bottom of the each tier will feast off the ratings of those at the top, even in those lopsided matches. So tose at the bottom of a tier are likely to gain rating, and those at the top drop rating. In the end I think you will see a greater Glicko gap between Gold/Silver and Silver/Bronze which is just a whole other problem. But assuming the fully open up RNG between season 1 and season 2 things should normalize again. Could be way off base here, time will tell.

Playing properly = If you follow a commander, you obey his calls, even bad ones because following a bad plan is better than having no plan at all. People shouldnt chase thieves in the middle of a fight, they should be on the commander until he calls out to chase them. If they want to be a solo hero they can stay away and stop wiping groups, because if you die, you risk rallying the other team. That also means using the correct gear.

So zerg or gtfo?

Sorry, sounds completely boring. I went to JQ to “play properly” and it was fun for a few weeks and then it became a chore. A lot of the people on both sides were (in my eyes) players with very little skill and honestly not that much fun (for me).

I like chasing people halfway across the map. I like small group fights.

What I don’t like is people telling me that their way of playing this game is the ONLY way or the BEST way to play the game. WvW is designed to be a sandbox. Everybody should be allowed to find fun the way the find fun

Hint: PPT and overall score !=! Fun.

Yup, I like the variety of gameplay options within WvW. Some days I command the zerg, some days I follow the zerg, some days I roam, some days I sit at the ruins and duel. Playing the exact same way every day for a hardcore WvW’er just isn’t an option. Variety is the spice of life. I only roam with the best tho, by best I mean the people I know that will rez me after I get my kitten kicked.
