I am feeling quite sorry for all those transfers that went to HoD from ET. More roflspiking at the hands of SF in store for you it seems. Since you have left ET has become quite the lovely server. Have fun over there guys.

And to my fellow SF forum warriors I miss you guys already.

After wandering the WvW wasteland in ET for several months I find the increased activity refreshing. Primetime has turned a bit zergy in EB when you look at it from a historical perspective. Lots of people are coming back out to test the waters post-SF swath of destruction and transfer influx. However this surely isn’t T1 zergfest. GoM and Fergs BL were still ripe for the small group picking last night from my short jaunts over there to check on things. And the role of the small group is far more important now than even before to keep putting pressure on all points. Especially when our opponents get zergy. Additonally ET primetime is always strong during the weekends. I am awaiting or weekday fall off in participation.

Also we had some awesome action during the day on Saturday/Sunday. Defeating 3 breakouts back to back to back in ET homelands, putting serious offensive pressure on GoM’s side of EB while the main zerg hit SM was also awesome going from tower to tower to tower defending and wiping GoM. We must have put an end to at 20 tower/keep offensives easily yesterday. Hey we can actually defend and upgrade now! Holy moly! Sieging up and camping my beloved Ferg Godsword….ohhhh how many fond memories I have of us trying to take that so that ET could go from +0 to +5 PPT.

By far the most fun I have ever had commanding was yesterday. I may have had 25 people max at one point yesterday and we got tons of business done offensively and defensively and had a great time doing it.

I was one of the random dudes tagging along with FoE last night. There wasn’t even a Mesmer to provide a false inflation in the number of red tags. Do we have a Mesmer here? Nope. Do we have a Mesmer here? Nope. Do we have a Mesmer here? Nope. So don’t be trying to pull an ET on ET by claiming you fought a much bigger force than you actually did. We are wise to our own games you see!

My introduction to WvW was at the start of the ET exodus. So this is far and away the most fun I have had bar none. This is great!

My night started off with the community effort defending Langor in EB. Switched up to 10-15 man TAC group defending and then retaking ET BL. Ended the evening by taking most of Ferg BL. A great mix of community effort(my new replacement for zerg) and guild efforts. Lots of action non-stop on all fronts. I know we are trying to learn new strategies in TAC and hopefully work to up our game! Keep up the good fights folks!

It’s unfortunate that we can’t be amazingly awesome and coordinated as ET, their prowess is clearly unsurpassed, the score is obviously not reflective of the overall server goals and accomplishments, it’s only dictated by a failing Glicko system that keeps ET in a hole out of pure spite and vindictiveness.

It is about time you started coming around to reality. Seriously we were all worried to death about your mental state of late. Good to have you back on the level!

Just want to thank all of the new folks planting their roots ET and FC. There has already been a radical transformation in T8 WvW. I LOVE IT! Hopefully our servers are able to further balance power as the new folks and us old timers learn to work together. The tactics and types of battles are so different than just a week ago.

Special shoutout to FoE and Agg on my home ET. The experience, skill, and coordination you have demonstrated has been awesome!

ET is no utopia but I really like what we can do with what we have. From my obviously skewed perspective ET employees far better tactics on the whole out of pure necessity.

Yarr is definitely skilled. I have a lot of fun targeting them, but they are completely different than VK. Yarr is best is small fights. 5v5 and under in my opinion. Exceptional at 1v1. Yarr aren’t really all that special when it is 20v20. Another face in a crowd.

Big shoutout to Yarr. Some good doobies in that bunch. Spent a couple hours dueling with them before last reset. They cleaned my clock good until the scotch started kickin in. Good times were had by all.

I think this is spot on. I have to much respect(fear?) for yarr that I generally run away if I am solo or with a couple others but they don’t have the numbers to be a real threat.

Also shout out to TAC had some really great fights against you guys. TAC v VK 10v10 would be cool to see vids of. I think TAC is a little outmatched so maybe 10v20 at a tower would be fun for you guys if you can find a time when our mindless SF Zerg is not slamming it’s forehead against anything breakable.

I think TAC was the most coordinated guild in T8 b4 VK came. I have not seen any voice comms on SF that come close to being called coordinated, and so far we haven’t needed it.

Yessir glass does melt. However glass has a higher melting point than wood. And those darn wooden gates are not affected by the flames. Still confused why not. So those flame rams are weak sausage.

Still trying to figure out why you would use the flame ability of the ram myself. I would like to see some more interesting mechanics for rams and gates. Maybe use flames to keep up stacks of burning which allows for bigger ram hits or maybe the gates will catch on fire if you put up enough stacks of burning…

PvDoor is lovely for Karma and XP train leveling alts. Whack-a-mole always leads to a run-in with the enemy at some point. If defending points engaging the enemy with my alts offered more return on time investment I would do more of it.

We all know that the playing field is even and the superior skill and tactics of SF are the difference maker. No numbers imbalances here. My server mates will eventually see the truth if I keep repeating it.

I am sure the vast majority of people want SF out of T8 to freshen things up. I personally could care less. Actually I would rather see you stuck here indefinitely out of spite since you guys want out so badly. How I am I to know if the server that replaces SF will be more fun to fight. It is better to focus on having fun today and let tomorrow take care of itself. It is still possible to have lots of fun playing WvW in a variety of different ways.

ET and SF will never have a treaty, just saying. There are a plethora of Commanders that go out of their way to destroy ET (myself included) just because of the ET playerbase we’ve encountered (no it’s not about numbers, topic for another day).

FC we’ll usually go after (during primetime at least) when ET has all been capped. Also FC’s numbers usually pale so far in comparison it just isn’t fun (e.g. last night in FC borderlands we capped the entire map with no resistance in less than 10-15 minutes~), and when FC does have numbers we actually respect the majority of them for their tactics they’ve used with said lack of numbers.

If anything we’d ‘ally’ with FC, but only until we needed a minor break from stomping on ET to the point of boredom.

Thank for the heart felt sentiments sweetheart. That was so quaint. And we have already established that SF wins by virtue of pure skill. No reason to mention numbers and have further conversation. This has been well established as even playing field.

TAC has around 230 members. We have a solid foundation of talented hardcore WvW players. That is not to say we focus on WvW exclusively. We have a number of players that dig on PvE and dungeon content.

During EST primetime non-reset nights we typically have 10-20 people in WvW. During Friday reset we can field 30+. We must have at least 10 commanders in the guild. There is nothing more fun than rolling as a guild en masse. When we get together we can really stick the ram rod to the opposition.

That being said, our WvW participation has waxed and waned. Only a sado mascochist could keep the consistency and focus going for this long in the current state of this matchup. Variety is the spice that keeps WvW interesting right now. I know I will spend less time trying to level up my rotund lvl 20 engineer, roaming around skirmishing, dueling, chain capping supplies mobile ninja style, and actually focus on playing the game to win once the matchup flips.

I know the SF roflstomp is rather disheartening. But man you Fergies are really mailing it in following your challenge for 2nd last week. Get better soon ok? I like fighting you guys more and we are going to be stuck with one another for a long time!

We are hugely outnumbered, but the FC and ET zergs have so many uplevelled players and inexperienced WvWers that they are relaxed fights.

Maybe the FC and ET vets should take a couple of weeks off WvW to powerlevel and gear these poor guys up. That’d get us out of your hair and prepare you for HoD or whomever. Just a thought

Lots of fun dueling at the windmill in FC BL. I hope you had fun owning me! This was good stuff. I think I established myself as the worst dueler. Maybe I should stick to dive bombing zergs.

Right now it does look like ET will be heading back home to good ole’ Red. Unless we pull things together for a comeback. SF would be well served to keep on the gas through Friday rather than letting up. Also the ET morning crew seems to have severely dwindled this past week, perhaps due to burnout.

Wish I could do more than +1 this. This is a great attitude to take in WvW, and the only reason I remain in SF, as waaaay back, we were getting steamrolled 24/7, and I maintained an attitude akin to yours. I didn’t have to maintain that attitude nearly as long as you have, so I just wanted to pop in and post my respect. Keep up the good fight!

We can all agree that Glicko is “the problem” here. SF has to do what it takes it crawl its way out of the Glicko Ghetto. SF need to follow the Kain/DR example and utterly destroy us to the point of spawn camping us on every BL 24/7 in order to make it to T7.

I just don’t jive with the assertion that SF is fully capable of complete and utter domination but does not want to institute these measures. I want them to come out en masse to end this match-up so that we have a new big brother to cry to mom about!

You can try to say it is fact but it is not. Unless you have some population numbers of all server for all times and know what we are thinking as to why we do not stay and defend in other BLs?? Do you have that information to backup your “fact” claim?

No, because you do not and will not ever know those things. What we do know for fact is what you stated, we can own what we want, when we want. It is my belief that we do not want to always be playing defender in your BL. At least, I know that to be a fact for me. It is just not fun for me. See, that is an opinion because it is my belief. I can not say how others feel about defending on your BL, because I can not read their minds. But if they found it fun, wouldn’t they be staying there?

Now sure, if we had the WvW coverage/numbers to stay in your BL and make it worth while to spend that time defending the structures we take then we probably would. But if we only have 5 people that want to stay in another BL, then there is no point. And since you cannot (no matter how hard you try) know WHY they do not want to stay and defend in your BL, none of your arguments hold merit.

What you are saying then is that “SF lacks the DESIRE to move into T7.” You are strategically chosing through your own actions to stick around in T8. What Darxio said is indeed a fact. SF lacks the ability to completely and utterly dominate ET(and Ferg) day in and day out. Thats why you are still hanging out with us buddy.

That being said, there are time periods where SF can mostly dominate. Why people are demoralized is because it coincides with the typical NA EST/PST primetime.

I have experienced weeks of complete and utter domination on ET where we could barely get out of our citadel and feel triumphant for taking a supply camp for long, long periodes of time. Thank jebus those days are behind us. SF is simply incapable of putting the lockdown into effect except for short periods of time. Until that happens or Anet modifies scoring(far more likely) this matchup will keep on keeping on.

I play my ele like a hammer that never stops pounding. During defensive siege get on the wall, pick a target in the middle of a group hop down RTL → Updraft and then just start blowing mofos up! The key is not to stray too far from the door. Once you start getting focused and cc’d to death run back in the door and rinse and repeat. The ele’s power to constantly disrupt the enemy forces and keep pushing them is unmatched by any other class. However if things are really bad I sometimes sit on the inside of the door and make those on the other side rethink standing there auto-attacking away.

If ET could pickup another 20 hardcore EST primetime WvW’ers this matchup would be a lot more interesting. The ET morning crew is the cats pajamas. I do not feel the matchup is really as lopsided/frustrating as everyone makes it out to be. And the whiny winners never cease to crack me up. They seem to be more frustrated than us losers. Having cut my teeth during the great ET WvW descent this matchup seems positively peachy vs. many others we have been through along the road. This is not to say a little variety would not be nice. Enjoy the ride and all the battles along the way!

SF will not move out of T8 until after Anet launches its major WvW changes. Assuming those changes include modifications/total revamp of Glicko perhaps SF climbs out on 4/19.

If Anet does the unthinkable and leaves the obviously borked system in tact then SF will be stuck in T8 forever. I predict the spirit of SF breaking before that of ET making a huge rating jump for SF into T7 even less likely. You cannot break that which has already been broken…

What I hear you saying is that ET needs to do the easier job of recruiting for prime time EST. We have the difficult part covered pretty well at the moment with great little evening capping crew. If we did have a decent influx of EST prime time players we would have an easier time saying goodbye to T8 thanks to the wonderful glicko system.

You guys must really live in your moms basement, those with the suave moves know you have to click it before you stick it. I definitely would not engage in such activities with a Naga.

Props to KWBH+whoever. It only took 40 minutes, 9 golems and 25ish players to overwhelm the 5 defenders of our keep @ 7am EST.

Been on since around 7 (ish) am, and I have never seen more then 4 golems so. Nope. Not believing this. ScreenShot or it Never Happened.

He cannot provide a screenshot because he is fibbing, I killed all the ET golems this AM outside of garrison during the crash fiasco. This resulted in so much elation that I briefly considered transferring to SF.

Crashed and broken WvW was fun this morning. ET was up against Kaineg and Dragonbrand according to my matchup. My team was Red, so it felt like going home.

Nestikk and I went to Kaineg BL for some revenge killings and wound up fighting both ET and SF(Kaineg). Was great fun to square off against my brothers in ET. I collected more than a few ET loot bags! Nanana booo booo to my KWBH friends who chased me all over the place trying to kill me. I would have had a blast all day squaring off against ET if I didn’t have to leave for work…

And KING Mesmer, fighting you is boring. I would rather chew on glass. I was trying to kill ET folks when you hopped in and squashed my fun.

Why love T8?

1. Rarely ever Q’s for BL’s.

2. Less issues with culling and lag.

3. You get to know your brothers in arms, for better or worse. My experience is its 99% better.

4. No fair weather fans, we can take a beating and get up and dust ourselves and bring the fight, week in and week out. The pansies have already moved onto “winning” servers.

5. Small forces can have a significant impact on the larger scale.

6. We will pay you gold to move. Just kidding, that trend is absolute garbage. Homie don’t play that.

I think the “win” e.g. not getting roflstomped into oblivion last week invigorated some ET folks. I think it is more of a our folks are sacrificing sleep to play longer to keep second place vs. an influx of fresh blood into ET. I have welcomed a few people back into the mix I haven’t seen scurrying about recently. Hopefully we can keep the fire burning. I was really expecting Ferg to have solidified a hold on second place by this point in the week.

I have read that Anet tried to nerf me since I’m too OP’d. The tendency of ANET to nerf rather than fix long outstanding bugs or buff alternative builds has become embarrassingly asinine. Make other options more viable, open up the game, not work to limit it on the account of whiners. Lookout Thiefs and Warriors you are next. The whiny bandwangoners will move onto complaining about you next. I know QQ moar, blah blah blah.

On the bright side that means I can go staff and abuse AOE to capitalize on the buffed up loot bag drops. Really pumped to hear about another round of increase loot bag drops. Are things noticeably that much better? WTB SF Zergs.

Psssh Gilkin is no Ungood. Ive never seen your bodaciousness afk destroy a 40 man SF zerg whilst eating a sammich.

Now that we have beaten the whole futile and silly ET/Ferg alliance nonsense into oblivion lets move onto more important topics.

I want to give a shout-out to the [THS] Backstab Thief and Glass Cannon D/D Ele combo that obliterated me last night outside Langor a couple of times. I was dead before I could even move. Ive never been so destroyed like that even when dive bombing into zergs.

It was a lot of fun brawling back and forth between Quentin – Danelon – Langor last evening EST. That kind of action is way more fun than getting zerged or pvdoor. More open field battles please.

I am really surprised and happy to see that ET is holding down 2nd place.

ET has its share of toolbags just like any other server. Cannot say I have spent any time in Ferg BL so maybe that is their natural habitat. Come to think of it, it has been a couple weeks since I have bothered to even zone into Ferg BL.

I know in [TAC] I cannot recall really riding the coat tails to victory. That is not how we roll, but I guess its good tactics and all is fair in love and wvw.

I am more of a get up in personal space, bite your ear off, have a brawl, shake hands and move on to the next battle kind of guy. This is one reason I don’t command often, I endlessly enjoy dive bombing into zergs massively outnumbered or roaming around skirmishing in the open field. I would feel dirty back dooring you Fergs like that.

CoSA may have reached max players in their guild then and had to splinter? Never noticed that either.

ET seems to have recently acquired a serious Golem fetish. We must have all the rich kids on the block partying on ET these days.

I wish ET could energize its Friday reset player base for an entire week. This would be a far more interesting match-up.

I am noticing a pattern in the battles the last few weeks. If at first you don’t succeed, bring more bodies. And when you hit troubled waters again, bring even more bodies with the same exact tactics. Rinse, repeat. Eventually realize you cannot accomplish objective and hide to build golems. And then when you pull through, act like you accomplished a great feat.

Ferg I like you guys. Just wish you could do your own thing once in a while, opportunists. Thanks for tanking last week to provide some variety to the match-up. The change in scenery was much needed.
