As a thief.. when doing quests and the like, I’m always just spamming one or two skills to optimally clear enemies while emptying the cooldowns on Utilities in between. Its almost always the same experience.. and I’m getting bored with it. Which class do you play?
I play an engineer as my main who primarily uses a flamethrower/elixirgun build. It’s pretty much the opposite of my other classes in terms of how many skills I’m juggling at once. My mesmer and warrior alts rotate through a handful of skills; my engineer is juggling 10-12 at any given time.
In my experience, City of Heroes is the only game that’s really gotten the cloak/cape look right. I’ve love to see them in GW2 if they could get them right, however.
This is a thinly veiled excuse to throw gear at players for farming certain mobs. Please no.
Sorry to dissent, but I must disagree. One of the things I hate about most MMOs is the annoying number of skills they throw at you. GW2 strikes a very good balance of keeping a narrow skill band without sacrificing much in the way of depth.
That being said, given the number of weapons each class can use, there’s really not a lack of skill sets to try.
I’ve had the opposite experience, though it may be affected by server choice. I play on Tarnished Coast, which is the unofficial roleplaying server, and there are plenty of people who I see that spend more time hanging out and chatting in the cities than they do out and about.
Failing that, guilds are a fantastic way to inject some socialization into the game.
the same youve been doing
This. Nothing really changes at 80, except that you now have easier access to more areas of the game. Just keep playing.
Ctrl-right click on any skill will make it auto-cast on cooldown, so you can turn on auto attack on most of the weapon kits. You just have to remember to do it every time, which seems unaccecptable.
The exception is skills with ground targeting. They simply can’t be set to auto cast. Which means the grenade kit is still a problem.
Maybe it’s just me, but I never have to reset my auto-attack for the kits – every time I switch to them, the 1 skill is automatically auto.
I remember having to manually setting them ages ago; that should be changed.
My list of things I’d really love to see:
1.| Player Housing
2.| Race-specific ability appearances for things like engineer turrets/kits, elementalist conjures, and guardian symbols.
3.| Better variety for non-combat content.
[NO]. I want to see horizontal progression, not vertical.
The number of warriors running around is, quite frankly, obnoxious. I don’t think I’ve had a single dungeon run in the past two weeks that had less than two warriors in it.
Housing systems tend to be one of my favorite facets in games that involve them (EQ2’s housing system was fantastic; LotRO’s, not so much, but I still enjoyed it). Those of us who are collectors especially would love something like this.
Not everything in the game needs to be about combat. I think it says bad things about our society that the best thing we can do with virtual worlds is turning them into war simulators.
I enjoy the journey more than the destination, so for me, being level 80 hasn’t significantly changed my playstyle. I still spend most of my time wandering about, exploring, and generally just enjoying the game as much as I can.
Keep in mind, in addition to what others have, you also want to give people plenty of time to complete each chapter, since it’s a one-time event. Not everyone is able to play every day, week, or even month (ouch!), so drawing them out a bit ensures that more people have a chance to see the chapter.
Is it so much to ask to get a legendary that actually looks like something an Asura would use? The rifle was the perfect opportunity for this, but no, we get stuck with more Charr-themed nonsense (just like the engineer turrets).

So jealous!
What self-respecting Asura doesn’t have his universal multi-tool on hand at all times??
Kidding aside, that’s a great job of matching up to your character. Well done!
