OMG ….AED is really so op……at least for a bomber man…having a blast. I tried it at first and hated AED then I made a build around it… 10,0,30,0,30 clerics gear.. rifle, bombs, mines, rocket boots, and supplies….no asended gear yet. Its nice for WVW and PVE. I have heals through bombs, supply crate and AED. Heals for AED are 14452 and 5102. AED is a gadget so trait for 20% reduction in CD….so CD drops to 32 secs which makes it better. In inventions the minor skill “automated medical response” means the healing skill recharges at 25% health..this makes AED work…. With intial health you have 44000ish health available excluding other heals. Now lets face it, if you are healing it because you are dying…..so just before I hit 25% health I pop AED…timer starts….If I hit 25% heath AED is ready to go again. If my opponent kills me…..I am pretty much back to full health, if they don’t I am up 5102 and with AED usually ready to go again. I find myself wanting people to kill me lol. When people see you are close to death they close in for the kill/HEAL which works nice with bombs….See the zerg…. run in and bomb away….AED triggers….. rocket boot out….. do it again. 2-10 in a zerg will persue a almost dead engy.. breaking it apart …and you as a bomberman dropping bombs as you run away…..I am having fun with it..YMMV
Let me know when you learn to use paragraphs and I may read that….
On topic, however, I’m in agreement with the OP. AED seems to be a waste of points at the moment. I haven’t encountered a single situation where AED would have been a better choice (especially when you compare it to healing turret, which is by far one of our best skills).
Sylvari, like Asura, really need a more racially consistent look for their turrets and other skills. Pigeonholing every engineer in Tyria into using what looks like Charr technology is quite possibly my biggest gripe with this game.
- ? : Launch back into the air firing from both pistols players hit by the explosive rounds are inflicted with burning for 1 sec radius of explosions 180 1 sec cast range 900 cd 25 sec
just ideas guys feel free to hate or like i think something like this gives us an option between power weapon skills and condi for the pistol while opening tons of new builds
I dub thee, ‘Bullet Time.’
Scarlet remindes me of Carmen Sandiego (from the “Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego?” tv series). She just picked a random place on the world and started to do some random evil for no apparent reason. I guess we can say Scarlet Sandiego does the same: choose a random place on Tyria and start making trouble.
True but Carmen Sandiego has Rita Moreno as her voice while Scarlet has Tara Strong on a bad day. Tara has done better in other projects.
Also we learned things in Carmen’s show, but Scarlet’s hasn’t given us much except for the Reactor.Carmen actually interacted with the show’s heroes. Scarlet really doesn’t in her show.
Yes I’m calling GW2 “Scarlet’s Show”, I’ve given up the idea of the game tagline “What’s your story?” and have adopted “So what is Scarlet doing these two weeks?”
Scarlet’s voice is the only part of the character I enjoy.
its so disappointing when I look at skin online….. ooo that’s a nice top…. try it on in game and it comes with a free skirt!
.I wish it would come with a free skirt or any skirt at all, or even short shorts, hell make it a belt version of shorts/skirt lmao. All i see is coats, coats and did I mention coats yet? Topped with hats that are way to big for anyone’s head…..
Agreed. Skirts would be nice, if they were actually in game. But unfortunately all we have are a hundred variations on long coats.
You mean a team of 5 Asuran players all using Power Suit, Summon Attack Golem, Summon Defensive Golem and Runes of the Golemancer?
That… would be interesting to see, I’ll admit. XD
You can use attack golem or defensive golem, but not both.
Don’t forget your golem mini! I currently run the defensive golem, the rune of the golemancer golem, and the mini, and even just by myself, it’s a hoot.
We did not need yet another separate thread on this issue.
Can a mod please merge this with one of the other dozen or so threads on this issue?
If levels are meaningful, they should remove. MMORPGs go the fast, steady leveling so you get that positive feedback that keeps people playing. And I absolutely hate it. Either don’t have levels at all, or if you do make it so that every single level is massively important (like in d20 style games).
I’m really sick of Mary Sue the Magical Plot Jumper at this point. Can we just retcon her out of GW2 completely, please?
I definitely do NOT want this. We need more race and profession specific stuffs, not less.
It’s pretty obvious at this point that Anet has absolutely no idea what to do with this class.
The problem isn’t that they can’t be salvaged. The problem is that they’re dropping like candy, which shouldn’t be the case. They should be purchasable-only.
Better yet, when are we getting another option for any other legendary weapon, I for one would like a different legendary staff, and also the ability to fuse 2 together for something similar like eternity.
I think they want to focus on improving the current legendaries first than introducing more.
No, they need to create some more. There’s one legendary per weapon type, except for Greatsword, which for some reason gets THREE, which is stupid. Half the professions in the game can’t even use greatswords.
Remove non combat pets from the “Deposit All Collectibles” rule.
No need – if you don’t want pets deposited, all you need to due is drop them in the specialized bag types and they’ll be ignored when you Deposit All.
Racial Ambiance
There are a large number of abilities in the game that should be different between different races. Asuran engineer turrets should not look like Charr turrets should not look like Sylvari turrets. Thief traps should look different. Mesmer illusions should look different. The only reason for all of them not to is laziness – it’s a lot of work for the art department, but one that would add some much needed emphasis on the races.
Why do I feel like there is more to this story…
Even if the OP did something that justified kicking, doing so at the end of a dungeon is poor taste no matter how you look at it.
Keep in mind, vistas, skill point locations, and the jumping puzzles are all optional – if you’re having difficulty with them, there’s nothing wrong with skipping them.
However, if you really want to complete them, you may want to consider using profession abilities instead of standard jumping for some of the harder leaps. For example, engineers have Jump Shot when using a rifle that not only gives you about twice as much jumping range (horizontal only, that is) as normal, but also gives you a nice little visual indicator of where you’ll land, as long as you don’t have Fast-Cast Ground Targeting turned on.
My Asura Engineer. She’s already my main – I hardly play my alts at all.
Not only are engineers extremely versatile, but you have the added benefit of being Tyria’s most adorable race.
This is just further proof than this has turned into a PayToWin game. Shame on you Anet!
I’m sorry if someone else has already mentioned this – I was filling a bit too lazy to read all four pages to check.
I’ve found the authenticator to work well, and I’m one of the people who never toggles on the remember networks functionality so that I have true two-factor authentication.
My only issue so far has been the actual entry; that is, after you type in your username and password and press enter, the launcher doesn’t automatically set the cursor in the entry field for the authenticator code.
I can’t count the number of times I’ve tried to type in my code only to realize that the entry field wasn’t selected. If they could auto-set the cursor here after password entry it would be great.
I’ve been playing MMOs for over 12 years and I’ve just encountered way too many emote sex chats over the years to not be super creeped out whenever someone mentions roleplayers.
I’ll never forget thinking that a roleplay server might be fun and interesting in WoW, only to find it full of… well you know :\ A word of advice- never go into an Inn or any place with a bed on a roleplay server.
I think a decent amount of the animosity towards roleplaying comes directly from what Rekia described above. For all the term ‘ERP’ describes, ERP is to roleplaying what porn is to film-making. Sadly, a large portion of players considers them one and the same.
Unfortunately, I’ve never played in any online RP setting that didn’t have its share of people who used it for their variety of cyber.
However, that being said, I’ve actually found Tarnished Coast to be one of the most pleasant communities for roleplay that I’ve encountered (the best being a toss up between Landroval in Lord of the Rings Online, and Virtue in City of Heroes). I’ve seen very little anti-RP sentiment in general.
I don’t want a guildhall at all, I want my personal housing. Perhaps somewhat based on the home instances we have already.
Your hoarding issues are your problem, not Anet’s. The amount of storage we have is fine (more than needed, honestly).
I don’t have any toons, personally. But if I could meet one of my GW2 characters, it would definitely be my main asura engineer, as referenced in my signature.
There’s nothing to prevent you from currently using those strategies. Stuns, knockback, blinding all work to help control the monster. Taunt and aggro systems in general tend to be very unrealistic, and I’d hate for them to implement anything like that in the current game.
Who needs a taunt when I can just blow a boss on his back via a careful application of Big ’Ol Bomb?
I personally don’t go to Lion’s Arch anymore than necessary. The only thing I really use it for is to cut down on travel costs – for everything else I go to Rata Sum.
+1 for Tarnished Coast. There’s a fairly heavy RP presence there, along with a huge number of RP-centric guilds. If you enjoy RP, it’s certainly the place to be.
There are three conditions I would require to be okay with mounts:
1) They can’t be used indoors or inside cities.
2) They’re race-specific (IE, horses for humans, dolyaks for Norn, stags for Sylvari, and golems for Asura; Charr are their own mount).
3) There’s not speed increase. Just like the riding broom, they’re aesthetic only.
Maybe if we’re lucky, they’ll not only remove its use from WvW but also temp ban people who are obviously exploiting them as described in the OP’s post.
I for one definitely don’t want to see this added. Choices are meaningless if they can be changed on a whim.
Near the bag slots there’s a padlock icon, which on what you’re looking for. Click on it and it’ll bring up the dialog box to purchase more space using gems (which I think is a flat rate of 600 gems per 30 slot increase).
I would like a legendary mecha suit for my Asura.
This x1000.
Good grief no. It’s so obnoxious in other games to have to wade through people dueling all over the place.
Just say NO to gear inspection. What I’m wearing and my build is is no one’s business but my own.
The LFG tool will be released in feb or march.
Source?
Everyone under the sun plays an Ele or Warr. Be original – go Engineer!
Why would you want to hide our awesome, beautiful ears!?
The Crucible of Eternity medium armor is quite thiefy and is one of the few dungeon armors that looks great on asura.
Maybe it’s just the RNG at work, but I consistently walk away with more exotics/rares from chest when I’m in my MF gear.
While I don’t want to see the skimpy human outfits transferred over to us, it would be nice to have more armor that says “Yes, I’m a girl!” Currently, the only thing that differentiates us from male asura is our hair and some of the faces.
if you are really THAT focused on doing your dailies, do a dungeon run and any mob interaction related ones will be done by the end of it.
seriously, you dont need to farm dodges.
This. If you’re having to farm dodges, you definitely need to analyze how you’re playing.
Near living monsters, of course!
Just another reason that Asura are the master race.
Well said.
People need to realize that you can’t expect one game to be your primary source of entertainment. If you’re putting in six hours a day or more, then yes, there’s not going to be enough to do. Ever.
(edited by Rynn.1324)
Specifically, this part:
The Name and Word Filter is not a “license to swear” or “permission to offend.” Saying “Just turn on your filter” isn’t that answer, any more than telling parents “Just cover your children’s ears” give you the excuse to swear up a storm in a restaurant. With any private service — restaurant, movie theatre, game server — the owners reserve the right to expect a certain level of behavior. The filter is offered as a means to try to limit offenses, but not as a feature that then presents others with the opportunity for “no holds barred” in the use offensive language.
Dungeon runs get them easily. If I’m not in a dungeon mood, just working on my world exploration easily yields enough random down NPCs to finish it (and yes, they count).
So I been looking at the legendary weapons and they are the same as extoic.
I don’t see the difference, are they actually going to change the stats sometime because what the point of making a legendary but just to show off?
They’re a goal to strive for since appearance-wise they’re very unique, and there are achievements associated with them. They’re not intended to stronger than exotics in terms of stats, however.
I absolutely, positively refuse to alter my play style just because some people are so unimaginative that they think they have to manually grind out the individual daily facets. No, I’m not going to get let that village die so you can res them. Yes, if see somebody about to die on a mob I’ll be jumping in to help.
Part of it is just me being a roleplayer at heart, but at the end of the day we’re supposed to be heroes, not opportunists.
Asurian Medium Cultural Tier 2 is the most engineer-y armor set I’ve seen in the game, with the possible of exception of the the Light Tier 3 (the armor Zojja wears that, sadly, we cannot wear).
