Just going to start by saying that jumping puzzles are easy for me. I don’t know why, but they are. That said…

Clocktower. Was. Awesome.

It was difficult (took me about 30 minutes, did it on an Asura), it was intense, it was fun. It felt rewarding (more so than a lame blue or green item on some of the permanent puzzles), and it actually made me concentrate on learning and coordination. Thank you, and please continue to make more of this sort of thing. As long as the achievement for it isn’t part of a holiday meta (which this wasn’t), I see no reason to not make hard things in the game.

I think ANet could have done a better ‘explanation’ of the jumping puzzle…I know lots of people the first night were confused on what was killing them…then realized that the ooze/cloud was coming up for them. Also, the mass amount of people in each just made jumping really hard for people to ‘visualize’ what was going.

We ended up staying up till like 3am EST when we got into our server version of it and there were 2 of us…finally got to see WTF was going on and then it became pretty apparent what you had to do.

When I made this map I was HOPING that people who aren’t into jumping would do exactly this. They’d see a fun Halloween looking environment, maybe get to the first chest and snag a goodie, then be on their merry way. I see now it was a mistake to make the hardest jumping challenge in the game part of an in-your-face update like a holiday event. I’m not going to stop making difficult stuff like this, they just won’t be so prominent in the future. I honestly hate making people upset and have a very high level of empathy. So it’s been hard hearing all the people that are so angry, frustrated and sad because of something I’ve made. But it’s just another lesson learned.

I hope you don’t stop making difficult stuff (sounds like you won’t). These things need to be in the game, just like their should be very very difficult dungeons that only certain players can beat due to skill and gameplay.

I think a few things I would do on the clock tower.

1. Limit the # of players in each or make it an instance dungeon for people to go in their with friends.

2. Possibly make it ‘race’ related or put everyone in the same gear. Having to hop around because of Norn and Charr that were max slider players was annoying. Just as annoying…those characters in dresses or trenchcoats.

3. You should consider making the clock tower in parts that are random per time for next year or make it even higher =).

For example…Part 1 we know was basically going up and waiting for the gears to explode out. Part 2 (at least I considered this) was when you went ‘splat’ on the gear with the chest.

You could make the clock tower random after Part 1 and have it be mix and match sections…

So if the first time is Part 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 – 6

You could draw Part 1 – 5 – 3 – 2 – 6 – 4 the next time through, etc

Then you could have all sorts of combos to really make it crazy and more challenging.

I would have liked an achievement for doing the clock tower and getting all the chests on the way up in the same run. With a speed boost I came really really close to doing that.

I have been trying this for days, with diff characters. ALWAYS get nailed at the same spot. Guess I have to see that empty bar until next year. Frustrating, but fun.

Never finished it and never will. Frustrated me so much and ruined my mood so I gave up completely.

The people who were able to finish it usually had the time and very good reflexes, sadly I had none of that. I do agree with lowering difficulty because on special events like these we always have lag problems, bugs and lots of disconnects.

Dont agree with lowering any difficulty at all. Reflexes, Hand Eye Coordination, etc are part of video games..and have been since the 80s. I had friends that couldn’t beat certain arcade games. Didn’t stop them from trying.

EVERY PLAYER regardless of race, religion, gender, or timezone is given the exact, and I mean EXACT, same amount of time to complete the monthly.

And after reviewing the last monthly, this was the first normal monthly reset because last reset was a bit buggy and it wasn’t a full month.

So pardon us not having ESP and how ANET would handle this one. It’s obviously an issue otherwise there wouldn’t be posts on here, GW2Guru, Reddit and so on about how the monthly ENDED EARLY.

ANET has a problem…that the majority of the player base isn’t educated that the servers are based in GMT. The majority thought they were set to PST time for the USA players.

They need to make this apparent to the population. This IS their issue because the mechanics for time resets are not apparent in the game.

Like many people said before, take the initiative and make a timer on the achievement page for the daily and the monthly.

Less rudeness would be nice.

You’re asking a lot swan..it’s pretty apparent that these guys don’t understand common sense.

This is a lot different then the threads on how hard the clock tower is. Difficulty and not having the ability to complete something is vastly different then lots of people assuming a monthly would end at the end of the month in real time or game time based on the region…which again most thought was 11:59:59 PST Oct 31st.

You get it, I get it, lots get it, a few in here don’t.

I’m pretty sure that most people casual or not look at the wiki.

I know 8 people playing this. 2 knew about the wiki. So obviously that isn’t even obvious to people.

Things should be in-game…you shouldn’t need to visit other websites to learn things that should be apparent in the game interface or UI or tutorials.

WvWvW is really boring and honestly is nothing but a zerg fest. I actually find it worst then WoW PvP…which is saying something.

They really need to have 2 monthlies.

Considering the daily doesn’t require you to kill 1-5 WvWvW people, I think it’s fair that people are asking why it’s there in the monthly.

There should be a PvE monthly and PvP monthly…break them out.

Munkiman, it’s not obvious, otherwise there wouldn’t be this recurring theme.

Obvious would be putting some sort of countdown/timer or thing that tells you IN GAME when the ‘reset’ occurs each day.

Like DoctorOverlord says above, there are many simple solutions for this. And remember this…GW2 is a casual MMO. People who are doing dailies daily are far and few between at least from my circle of friends. Some play 1 times a week for 3 hours..that is their ‘game’ night.

Dailies obviously reset at 5pm

This isn’t obvious..considering when I told a bunch of my guild mates last night that they thought they reset at 12AM PST.

So for the bunch of you continually saying ‘obvious’…it’s not…otherwise there wouldn’t be posts about this issue.

BTW the definition of obvious is: easy to see or understand; plain; evident

Obviously, this server reset time and monthly reset time is not.

I like the skill and combat system in GW2. I agree with others who have posted that just because an MMO has a massive skill bar doesn’t mean you use any more than the 8-10 skills anyway. It just leads to a needlessly cluttered UI.

i started a elem. i got bored by the slow attack speed on all basic auto weapon skills…

Elementalists are all about switching attunements to burn the cooldowns on their spells. You should almost never be using the basic attack – I’m guessing you didn’t even hit level 10.

I’m with Dark. I find playing my ele is like juggling a bunch of spinning plates. I can’t see how anyone can be bored if they’re playing the profession and properly switching attunements.

This might be a case of a player needing to realize that one has to play the game the way it was designed rather than expecting standard MMO mechanics.

Elementalists and Engineers really have a wide swath of things to choose from and swap due to their kits/elements…some classes like Thief though are pretty limited in terms of their combat.

I think their should be 12 abilities…would be nice to get 1 more combat action attack and 1 more slot called ‘trinket’

1-5 would be combat
6 – Heal
7-9 Utility
10- Elite
11-12 Trinkets

Things like Warhorns, Focus, etc…really shouldnt be in the 1-5 slot.

These things should all be ‘trinket’ like abilities and their 2 abilities should be moved into these new slots.

Or you could do

1-6 Weapons
7 – Heal
8 -10 Utility
11 – Elite
12 – Trinket

Honestly I’d like to see 1 more attack for weapons.

Not being smug, I have seen the exact same outbursts and arguments three times now and know that I will see it again in a month. Every night at 8 pm (my time) – boom! – it’s tomorrow and the game resets the daily reward. Last night of the month, 8 pm (my time) – boom! – it’s tomorrow. It’s not hard to figure out.

When the server resets every single night at, say 5 pm if you’re on the US west coast, why would you think that one time every month it wouldn’t reset at 5 pm?

Lots of people are not on during ‘resets’ of dailies.

Most of us thought dailies reset at 3AM EST because ANET is west coast and just like WoW, resets were done at 12AM PST.

When many of us play maybe 1-2 hours tops a play session and a few times a week, it’s not hard to understand that we wouldn’t be on during this…so really, your logic isnt a good reason for people to know when dailies reset.

The real question is again…why is ANET allowing this to happen?

If you guys saw this confusion last month at the end of Sept and even at the end of August, then OBVIOUSLY there is a underlying communication issue between ANET and the players and when things reset.

Remember when online games went by the time on my watch? No? Ya, me neither.

I do…it’s called World of Warcraft.

Server times were based on their location. Everyone I played with played on an east coast server.

And implementation of events was by country/location. Not one general location/TZ.

And to add more confusion to this…what time did the Mad King Event happen in LA…oh…12 pm PST….based on west coast time where ANET is located..just like WoW did it all their stuff.

If by issue you mean people failing to understand how a calendar and time zones work together then yes it will continue.

The only people who fail to understand how a calender and time zone works is ANET. Any person can tell you the Oct 31st falls in the month of….OCTOBER.

And the time on the clock in game is local time.

They either need to make this based on the country or the server time or add a countdown in your achievement because this is going to happen every month because honestly it’s back —-wards.

You’ve had a month to complete it, simple as that. The october monthly started the exact same time as the september, which was on the last day of the month on reset. It’s really not too difficult to grasp that it will be reset on the last day, when they chose to reset a daily part way through the day. Why take the time to set a seperate hour to reset the monthly, when they can easily enough attach it to the same reset as they already have in place?

It’s not as simple as that.

I had a day to finish up…like many others believed they did also.

Like many others have posted…they need to add a timer to the monthly so people know about this.

And many of us just started playing in late Sept or early Oct…so we were in the dark about this. It’s been a month and a half obviously since they’ve known about this…ANet could have added something to clarify this in the game for people looking at the monthly ach.

They should add something like the timer so new players don’t get screwed over like many of us did with the 500 salvaged items.

And the /wiki doesn’t matter. Most players DO NOT visit sites for information. They expect it to be on the main GW2 site or in the game itself.

So, you didn’t notice it last month, you missed the forum announcments/discussion about it a few weeks ago (last time it changed), you have never read the wiki, and you got caught out this month with an incorrect assumption. I’m sorry that has happened for you, I understand that it sucks – but you know now for future, and you can share that information amongst your guild/etc so that they know too.

I started playing the last week of Sept and barely played that first week. Even people in my guild who have played since release didn’t know it reset like that tonight. Many thought that the monthly could be done at your pace and whenever you finish it..it would reset in a months time for that individual so there was no rush.

GW2 doesn’t do a good job of educating the player ‘in game’…WoW had that issue for years and one of the things they’ve done a good job with over the last 2 years since Cataclysm is explaining all mechanics and other things in the game with prompts and explanation windows.

It ended a few HOURS earlier than people thought it would… but only people who weren’t around a month ago, or a month before that… the same complaints happened those times, too, and nothing has changed. Arenanet isn’t going to rewrite their systems when people already know the “reset button” happens at 0:00 GMT.

If you don’t want to get caught by this, make sure you finish the monthly list a few days before the end of the month, not a few hours… You can complain all you want, but that is the only answer.

A few hours…its more like 12+ hours for most.

I had the time and energy, I’m awesome. Looking forward to next year.
In some seriousness, my current record is 9 completions. It gets much easier the more you finish it. Someone in my guild got to 13 before getting tired/bored. What’s your’s?

About probably 25+ times.

And another 8 attempts that failed because I didn’t know I was lagged and the clock tower face was off by 4 sides.

The Wiki is not in the game…nor should you have to look on it to figure out something that makes no sense.

A monthly is a monthly…it ended a day early and is not common knowledge.

That is not good game design..lots of people got really shafted with the 500 disenchanted items…talk about a waste.

ANET needs to make that up to people.

Well I just wasted disenchanting 500+ things. I thought I had till the…wait for it…

END OF THE MONTH.

Considering I just started playing NO WHERE does it say in the achievement that it ends a day early. Everyone I play with that just started thought we had till midnight tonight on our time zone server.

What a joke. My first real complaint with ANet…whoever designed it this way…it needs to be changed and people need to be given something for their wasted efforts.

For me, the key indicator is right at the start when the gears/rubble explode out of the Tower after the brief pause. If the gears flow out from the Tower smoothly, you should be good. If they seem to freeze in mid-air for a split second or just appear suddenly, however, then you’re better off quitting the server and finding another Overflow. .

Zaxares…I’m so glad you posted this…OK that confirms it then. I just wasnt sure if that happened to others.

I had the EXACT same thing…my gear/rubble exploded out and lagged for a split second…and it was like this on all failed attempts.

So that is the definite tell tale sign…If your rubble/gear explodes and staggers or lags, then quit out and find another overflow.

Jumping into the Clock face hole…or so you thought…

So I take out another toon to do the clock tower and I made it up to the top and to the final jump..and 7+ times I don’t make it…literally screaming at the game going “WTF is going on!?!?”… I had made it earlier multiple times on multiple toons.

On the 8th attempt..someone else is up there with me…and when I see the tower face explode and the hole appear…I jumped…and didn’t make it..AGAIN…but the other person didn’t jump with me.

I get a whisper from the other person that they saw me jump into the wall of the clock tower as it was spinning around and that the clock face wasn’t till another 4 turns..so basically I jumped really early.

My ping was fine…I believe what is happening is some people are getting into a ‘bad’ instance where they are either early or behind the actual ‘time’ of the clock face.

So if you get the top multiple times and can’t make it into the window and you end up at the bottom again..log out of the game and come back in…it worked immediately the next time…made it up and right into the window.

Hopefully Anet can fix this bug..talk about frustrating.

My guess is the person just extracted the Inv screen graphic, placed it into AE, placed his INV screen over that and re-rendered his normal run up the tower.

I think a lot of us are going to get impacted by the Hurricane in a few days.

Right now…the final Act will fall when the North East will be hit by Hurricane Sandy and many will lose power.

Will Arena Net extend the event say till Nov 5th (at least a week since power might take that long at least to restore) or something similar due to the potential power outages many of us will face?

Please consider this.

I think everyone knows that Rangers are ‘broken’ pretty badly…hence why the class got no updates this patch and a personal response from JP.

I’m glad they are addressing it and are planning on a big re-work it from the sound of it.

But I wish they’d realize the issue stems from PETS and this being the ONLY class that relies on them as part of the actual character class design. Guardians and Necros have their own ‘unique’ thing but they are skills, abilities you spec into.

The pet is actually part of the ranger from the very beginning.

Hopefully we see massive changes to the class ASAP. I’m basically holding off leveling so I can experience as much of the ‘new’ ranger from the beginning.

Its more then just fixing signets/spirits. The ranger trait lines also have some pretty severe flaws. The Beast mastery trait line is full rather useless traits if you look at them in the bigger picture. Since I personally run 30 Beastmastery I’ll make a example of it. I find 2-3 of the traits I will never use. True this is evident in most of the trait lines. But Maskmanship gets two traits that should logically be in the Beast mastery line and would actually be useful for a Ranger that wishes to play as a beast master. I’m still trying to understand the logic behind placing BOTH Signet of the Beast master and Beast masters Bond in the Markmanship line?

Agreed. I don’t understand why ‘pet’ specific traits are in every tree…

I really wish they’d just make the beastmaster tree the obviously the pet specific tree and let the rest of us who want to go Petless actually do it.

I really hope they consider a ‘non’ pet tree option.

Relying on AI to do damage, control, etc for you is really not good in an action MMO such as this. There is so much evading that ToT for Pets (Time on Target) is really bad…so if your DPS, etc is spec’d into the pet, you are basically screwed.

The best thing they can do is remove pets and turn them instead into a bunch of utility like skills (like the Hunters Call that summons Hawks).

Make a bunch of the animal types into these type of skills..example would be a Utility Skill that summons a bear to tank/take damage for you for a short period of time the. You can also make a few Elite…like a skill called ‘Pack of Wolves’ that summons a wolf pack (like the elite skill ‘Guild of Thieves’ for Thieves)

You could also do something like Engineer Turrets where you can summon pets but they are basically the same as turrets. You can spec into the tree to strength your pet but you don’t have to go that route. So instead of Turrets, the Ranger would have various ‘pets’ that function like a turret. You could have say birds that fly around and heal you and your allies (like a healing turret), you could have cats that attack (like a dps turrent), you could have spiders that entrap (like a net turret) and so on.

You can even do more of the abilities like they have now with things like Serpant Strike, Hornet Strike and make more.

Having one class so reliant on Pet/AI mechanics is just a bad idea overall. I bet many would go the ‘petless’ route if it was an option.

And for those that want pets, then let them go the pet route and spec into the tree.

Also, Rangers should be able to use rifles and guns. They are considered marksmen. At least make an XBOW for them.

I don’t know why game developers insist on pet classes.

Hopefully there is a re-design of the ranger class incoming soon, otherwise it’s #s are going to just keep dropping.

I think the ranger pets need to be more like the guardian spirit weapons. If the players traits into the spirit weapons they can be very viable, with great utility and dmg. But if players want they can completely ignore that part of the class and still be 100% viable.

100% Agree. Pets should be ‘disposable’ and the Ranger just like Necros or Guardians.

Also, like many have said…having a class where part of it is controlled by the AI sucks.

There shouldn’t be just ONE class that is reliant on pet mechanics where Necros or Guardians train into theirs.

I could see if they had 2-3 classes based around pets, like say in WoW with Hunters & Warlocks or even Frost Mages…but right now, from what I’ve seen and played some…this class is just too reliant on a broken mechanic and it won’t be fixed due to the ‘battle mechanics’ unlike you have in say WoW.

The best thing to do is like you said is make the pets basically some sort of spell or ability that is summoned…like the Hunters Call ability with the Warhorn but make these UTILITY skills…with certain types of animals…cats, wolves, avian, tank like etc. You could do a bunch of utility skills also like say…

Pack of Wolves: Summon a pack of wolves to do XXX (like Guild of Thieves)

etc…

do not like sdrics idea at all it amounts to basically making the pet one more cosmetic P.O.S. when all they need to do is make the pets hit more often . extend there range or allow them to hit on the run i dont care but the current functionality is fine, just do not reduce the pet to a garbage extra buff bar.

The issue there when you increase the range is you basically remove dodging and rolling out of the game against rangers and that isn’t fair to other classes.

Moving away out of the melee range and still getting hit by a pet because you increased their hit box would just be asinine honestly.

Pets aren’t working and honestly, I don’t think they will. It’s time to ‘fix’ the Ranger class and do some serious changing to it to get it in line with other classes and without the pet mechanic that is built into it’s core abilities and damage.

I currently using an Nvidia Geforce GTX 670 … I could go SLI, but I don’t have an immediate need to do so at this time.

So far, I have my settings jacked up to the max running at 1920×1080 and can maintain around 45~60 fps in most situations, and around 20 to 30-ish during heavy zerg-fests.

Yep…exact same. There is no real need to go SLI for this.

But I have noticed that since the last patch/update, our framerates are in the 45-60 range when they were before in the 90-100 range before the patch.

Something changed….

@Ryth…stuff like this existed in GW1 also, I wouldn’t be surprised if things like this would indeed be added at some point.

I think that is something that a lot of people would enjoy and I hope they make it very difficult. There is ‘something’ about having items from difficult encounters in the game to ‘show off in a game’. Having a ‘difficulty’ carrot as I call it isn’t a bad thing to have. I hate the grind carrots of just gear. Beating very difficult content is a vastly different thing.

I still remember the Dungeon 0/.5 stuff in WoW where there were people who couldn’t even complete a 45 min baron run and these were raiders who were carried in 40 mans.

Most of the people want VERTICAL progression…which I understand but I don’t think GW2 needs any sort of grind.

But it would be cool to have ‘PROGRESSION’ type content that is VERY HARD TO COMPLETE.

I would call these ‘RAID/PROGRESSION’ Dungeons/5 mans. They would be equivalent to difficulty that only the best players in terms of skills can complete.

1) At 80 start a quest chain that sends you throughout the lands to get a key to unlock/attune to Dungeon A

2) You run Dungeon A and complete it. You get a unique armor/weapons token(s) and get quests for Dungeon B

3) Run quests for attunement to Dungeon B.

4.) You run Dungeon B and complete it. You get a unique armor/weapons token(s) and get quests for Dungeon C

5) You run Dungeon C and so on.

You have to ‘PROGRESS’ through the order/vertical in order to do the next…and gear from the previous dungeon should be a factor.

And these dungeons should drop very unique armors and models that show how good your skills are.

The cool thing is that you still could run the previous dungeons due to down leveling/down difficulty etc.

LOL! You are absolutely correct.

Yep. It’s kinda disturbing to see the massive amounts of people who have devoured the content. There is nothing you can do to appease these people. My buddy and I have basically completely done the opposite and set our playtime to a few hours a night and not every night and have literally just taken our time through the game. It’s nice not thinking you have to ‘gear up’ for PvP or hit the cap so you don’t get ganked or have to get to end game so you can grind for gear to raid.

Lets see…over the last months they’ve announced

Oct 19th – Halloween Event information along with other content patch information.
Oct 12th – Halloween Event Preview
Oct 8th – Full Article on PvP and Arenas
Oct 4th – Direction of the game explaining content teams, etc.

Not sure how much stuff you want..they seem to be keeping everyone up to date.

The game just launched…go look at how long it took to get stuff from Blizzard.

This is hilarious.

You have something called /say, /tell, etc.

Make friends like you do in real life.

A game shouldn’t ‘force’ you into things.

GW2 has PLENTY of things to help you if you want a sense of community. Multiple guild options, 5 mans, etc.

DO NOT RUSH through this game.
Enjoy it, explore
Take your time
Don’t play everyday
…and so on.

Come back when there is more content. Just remember, those other games just had you on a treadmill paying a monthly fee to grind gear. This one doesn’t have that unless you want to do it.

I STRONGLY suggest leveling a ranged character if you played Guardian. Take your time. Have fun. You’ll be surprised.

That’s not really that nice looking.

If you want to see some good armors…go to the MMO champion forums..they have a thread with some good character shots.

Issue is…GW2 is such a wide range of specs, that some peoples screen shots look absolutely horrendous…while others look mind blowing. 64+ pages of shots…some amazing.

How to improve models/graphics to make them more visually interesting and have a ‘OMG’ factor.

First, I want to clarify that I think the graphics in GW2 are AMAZING. The environments and towns, cities, places, etc are breathtaking. The character models are great and even most of the weapons are armors are great…

…but…

I have to say, I feel something is ‘lacking’ in terms of the visuals and overall design of the armors and weapons.

Most to myself and my friends I play with feel very ‘underwhelmed’ when we look at them. We feel that the armor sets and weapons pretty much are one reason many people aren’t trying for them at 80 and have put down the game.

They just aren’t that ‘stunning’ or ‘amazing’ to grind, farm or attempt to acquire. We were talking about this last night on skype while in LA and looking at a lot of max level players. The general consensus was ‘meh’.

I think it comes down to the over-use of hyper-realism on the models/armors and the color schemes, etc…and also..even color scheme/dyes.

One thing that World of Warcraft has always done is a good job of making Tier Armor sets and weapons VERY nice looking over the last 3+ years and making them not only stand out but also making the weapons stand out more even though they have ‘less’ to work with in their engine.

Right now, in GW2, I’ve looked at most of the armor sets and weapons and honestly the weapons just look bland and plain for the most part. Take for example all of the shots from this site

and then lets take WoW’s Tier 14….even though it’s opinion, to my friends and I (and none of us are playing WoW but we still follow it), these WoW sets stand out over anything in GW2. Even has commented on how good the T14 sets look and that they wish GW2 armors and weapons were better looking.

Obviously WoW is working with less polygons but somehow they make their gear just better looking overall…it’s actually their strength.

Take for example the GW2 Nightmare 2H sword. It’s not only a very badly done model, but the texture and skin on it is god awful.

I think farming out a lot of the ‘art’ and ‘modeling’ to various 3d designers that they did created very different qualities and looks in armor and weapons and the cohesive work of a dedicate group would have been better….more like what WoW has.

I hope GW2 artists don’t take offense, but I think they could do a better job with the armors and weapons. They just are not on par with the environment teams work.

Make them more unique and less ‘average’ looking and spruce up the armors. Underwhelmed is an understatement when you look at say the human cultural weapons, etc.

Don’t go overboard on the poly counts and focus more on the ‘oh my god that is sooo amazing looking’ factor.

Lastly, we need enchantments and glow effects on our gear. That always helps make things look awesome.

By the way, I believe the majority of players like waypoints and would play less without them. People who want to remove waypoints often express the opinion that it would cause players to play together more often. That’s a noble and idealistic idea that i respect, but I think it would backfire. If ANet really did remove waypoints, people would either play less or travel less. It would probably make all the level 10-70 zones feel extremely empty.

Actually the proof is the opposite. WoW experienced a massive drop off in players due to world dying out…people sat in cities waiting for queues to pop, used ports to get to every dungeon or were summoned, and flew everywhere via personal mounts…killing off the world.

Proof is in the pudding. Lots of posts on the old WoW forums and it’s why Blizzard went so hard into getting people back into the world and removing flying as long as they could in the xpac.

Fast travel in a game does DESTROY immersion. It also destroys any sense of scale and massive size.
Look no further then WoW when they introduced flying mounts. Not only was the size of the world reduced dramatically, world PvP died. When they implemented a shorter hearthstone, teleports to zones, dungeon finder and more gryphon points, they destroyed the immersion even more. The world became empty

What utter BS. This is far from any sense of the truth. World PvP died with the implimentation of battle grounds and Arenas. BG’s and Arenas were brought on to combat GW 1. You don’t have a clue what your talking about.

Only BS son is what you are spouting. Go take a look at how WoW started doing after they added more FP, Dungeon Teleports, DF and so on.

BGs and Arenas were brought on to combat server lag and massive populations forming at TM/SS fights and other locations. Even the developers talked about this in vanilla and how they wanted to lessen server lag due to the mass amount of world pvp at certain spots…enter BGs.

You don’t have a clue to what you are talking about.

So you want me to travel for an entire day? Not doing anything I want to do and being bored out of my mind….then spend the next day doing what I ACTUALLY want to do? Are you kitten kidding me? I know it may come as a shock, but a lot of people have family and jobs to do. I think the only people who can possibly enjoy that style of play have 8-10 hours they can play a day. I don’t have that amount of time. I have 2 hours maybe of downtime and some days I can’t play at all. I used to be able to play for hours every day, but ya know responsibilities came up. I know for one if waypoints were gone I’d be gone. I work all day as it is I don’t need to feel like I’m working in a virtual world too.

You act like travel takes FOREVER.

Running across a zone takes about 5 mins tops. If you have to travel to a few zones, sure it adds up if you run the whole way, but if you actually read what most of us have been saying we didn’t say get rid of ALL WAYPOINTS, we said get RID OF THE MAJORITY and LEAVE A MAJOR HUB in each zone.

And I have the same time as you…I play about 2 hours a night, not every night.

You all have to stop the drama queen acts of ‘ill quit this game if they do that’ etc…stop whining about having to actually travel some in the world that they built.
