No! Don’t fix it! Its too hard to do on accident and alot of people didn’t even know it existed.

Its already made great screenshots and machinema possible for the game!

Theres no reason to fix it, its really a feature at this point and everyone enjoys it alot. Theres no harm in it, yet it gives us something fun to do and teach new players.

Its basically a selling point to me at this time!

Heres a deal, don’t fix it until you add all the animations in /emote form.

Does that sound reasonable?

I got tired of reading the posts full of straw hats and irrelevant info, just so you know. I went to do other things and forgot this existed.

1. I don’t feel I have to be overpowered, I don’t want depth to be determined by “moar hit points” and I don’t want story inconsistency such as champions having trouble hitting worms.

2. Those players didn’t think I was griefing because they -asked- me to help them, they get credit if they hit it first, which I was letting them do.

3. I’m not from WoW, and I explore frequently. I enjoy the leveling process just fine, because I know I will gain power from the time I put in. I, like many players who hate the thought of being nerfed more, have spent plenty of time exploring.

4. The other points on their manifesto were fine but if they continue to add more tiers (which wasn’t in the original manifesto) I want something to show for the huge amounts of time I put into the game other than skins.

5. “we don’t care about leveling speed.” I never said there was any problem with the current leveling speed. I never even said I want to be more powerful. I want something to show for the work I put in, and not for the health and dps of mobs to be cranked up for arbitrary reasons. Do you call swinging your sword more times and spending more time to do the same thing a challenge? I want the things that are a challenge to have depth and be interesting. Taking longer to kill trash mobs doesn’t give you a challenge and it also makes no logical sense when you’ve been killing orrians and dragons. Want a -boring- “challenge” again? Go put on some low level gear. The scaling was fine where it was, it made content such as veterans interesting enough while also not making the player completely broken.

6. Expecting a tangible reward for your hard work other than visual appearance is not “casual”. I still am very unlikely to die against pretty much anything that isn’t a champion and I solo those even after the patch. I am not looking for a challenge by hitting 1 repeatedly. Thats not a challenge, its just boring mechanics. I’d take the feel of power -earned- over a shallow challenge every, single, time.

7. Challenge isn’t achieved through taking longer to kill the mob and making it hit harder. At worst case, with this AI, you can simply kite it.

8. Please, for the love of all things, stay in school. Also, sign up for debate class.

9. I am going to go back to doing things for fun that actually challenge me and don’t just waste my time and make me feel like hard work spent getting gear was pointless.

I fully agree, a slider would make sense in every instance of these complaints. Most of the issues players have that causes game changes which upset other players could easily be solved through options. Instead, short cuts are taken. Anet is a good company, and it shouldn’t take short cuts. There are a few options that would fix several issues, make the game more approachable by hardcore AND casual gamers:

If you want a game to appease a wider audience, you should give a wide array of options. Give dungeons a check box when creating the dungeons which gives better rewards and disables zerging.

Implement a difficulty slider which effects scaling.. and optionally even level 80 content. It will downscale you.
Give players a slider for difficulty scaling to determine how much it effects them, using the previous (prepatch) amount as a base and scaling -more- than it does now. I want people to have the right to play the game how they want to, I don’t want their gameplay experience to step on mine. Many games have proven that these features all may exist!

This puts the options in the hands of the player, and like game mods before it.. it pretty much attracts a wider audience and pleases the maximum number of people.

Give us an option to disable UI elements and have a second UI which disappears when not active… full health? No health bar. Lvl 80? No exp bar.

Options are great!

There is however a problem with this, and ANet has stated it in the thread asking for the ability to hide parts of the UI individually..

They think that complexity in these situations is a bad thing, and that the player base is too naive as a whole. They don’t want players complaining about options to support.

I have not contradicted myself. There is nothing in that paragraph that contradicts anything I’ve said, nor does it help the argument that further scaling is necessary.

I -literally- just helped two low level players complete their jumping puzzles and the like. The fact that I was higher level than them was a major element in their decision to ask for my help. If gw2 scaling makes it so that lvl 80’s are essentially always the same power level as the players who haven’t bothered gearing up and leveling, I will stop bothering. I imagine many players will stop bothering with zones below level 80 because they will dislike the scaling.

Yes, here we go again. Whereas I used logic and reason, you fall upon the crutch of using personal attacks “If they are able to perform as well as you when both are scaled to the same stats, then either he’s very good or you’re very bad”. Go solo two veteran egg laying karkas at the same time. Tank the champion. I’ve done both.

Come now, surely you can see that even if I didn’t have skill (which any player has the opportunity to gain, I might add), it wouldn’t even change the fact that theres no legitimate reason to get rid of the power that we earned by leveling.

That is called a logical fallacy when you use completely unrelated truths to support your argument. It makes it so that people who would debate end up either laughing and/or not bothering arguing with you because its trivial.

Do I bother debating with cats? No.

That level 1 player can hope to close some of the gap using skill but not all of it. Thats why levels exist at all. The compromise is there to provide a midpoint and give the player a chance. Not equal ground. If they want equal ground, they simply level to 80, which I might remind you isn’t the most difficult task.

Your second paragraph on rewards and farming has already been covered and I already stated that the economy is bad off and level 80 players -shouldn’t- be encouraged to farm them. The economy already had a drastic increase in the price of lower level mats due to the fact that level 80 players didn’t visit these zones frequently, thus drying the supply. Now that we will get less of those materials when we go back there (and more of the 80 stuff), we will be reliant on the two or three people in that zone to provide the entire supply.

Either way, it isn’t relevant to the issue that lvl 80 players shouldn’t farm, and if anything their new system encourages level 80’s to farm them for rares in theory. Your point made my point, basically.

More or less everything about your point is irrelevant. I can state that the capital of Somalia is Mogadishu but regardless of whether its true or not, it would be irrelevant to the topic.

In other words, don’t bother.

“Leveling” in gw2 isn’t only a way to control player experience. The gear would not exist if that was the case. Point.

If the leveling system merely existed to gate content and nothing else they wouldn’t have had an entire news blog stating that they wanted to INCREASE VERTICAL PROGRESSION upon the release of fractals. We who work on games can understand that people need to feel like what they are doing is rewarding them in some manner.

Leveling isn’t just to gate content, because you can cite hundreds of examples why it has other reasons for existing.

You -should- feel powerful in lower level zones considering (if you completed the story) you have spoilers slain a dragon.

Yes, I won’t have a decisive advantage over everybody else based on stats alone. Skill, culling, and the other numerous bugs still exist.

SPVP has balance. If you want total balance when facing other players, it already has it, go do it. PVE has progression and it should retain that progression as long as everyone can gain the gear within their “area” of the game. That means dungeons + pve + fractals all should have various methods of obtaining it. This was not previously the case.

Guess what? Its pretty much been proven that build can give you a huge advantage too, enough to steamroll five other players in wvw.

Your arguments are paper thin, just because stats alone aren’t what makes me powerful doesn’t mean that its not an insult to those of us who earned those stats to lose them. Just because someone else might be able to beat me (plenty of zergs in wvw have accomplished this with relative ease, and of course the culling builds), doesn’t invalidate my argument.

In other words: Big deal? My point still stands. I was one of those that hated the fact that ascended gear could only be obtained through one means. I’ve provided alternate solutions to the problem of having limited methods of obtaining them in several posts (guess what, it was very similar to the system they are currently employing, a scavenger hunt of sorts that can be done in normal pve).

The game was designed for “everyone” in accordance with their mission statement, and so a compromise between no scaling and full scaling was met, and an attempt to break that balance has been made. In other words… no.. full scaling isn’t more “gw2” than the previous compromise. How about that logic stuff?
The game isn’t just geared toward skill (which I have plenty of) and teamwork.

Last I checked, they didn’t have it in their mission statement to make everyone join a team for everything, and they wanted seamless integration of solo and teamwork where the player was “encouraged” to team up but rarely forced. The fact that teamwork exists by itself does not mean that the individual should not gain power. Thats boring.

How’s that logic working out for yah?

Really, just solo one… can you even kill the normal ones?

I have the skill, because I worked for it.
I have the stats, because I worked for them.

All that time spent is negated by a patch that essentially just enables bads.

Not everyone is happy with just skins and teamwork.

I help low level players consistently by simply not attacking until they’ve tagged the mob. They wouldn’t be able to kill some champions in zones where noone is ever around if it weren’t for people like me who go back and help guildies and others who asked for our help, and whats our reward?

Why should the level 1 friend feel so entitled to perform at the same level as someone who has 80 exotics anyway? The sense of entitlement is just sad.

They might as well eliminate item tiers and levels if they continue on this route.

You have your cooperation, and its already way more cooperative than WoW. A mid point was made, and it has been passed. Its unreasonable to expect further compromise.

I have over 150% magic find in one of my armor sets + food. I ran around earlier. Guess what? I still got the same trash I would normally get in a low level zone. There is no clear tradeoff for this.

No. It wouldn’t. Go play a different game. I like to feel power as a reward for all that time I spent… gaining power. Duh.

Don’t like feeling powerful? Go to a hard zone or take on something challenging.

I hate the idea of someone who just killed a dragon having difficulty mowing down a bloody worm. We already have our stats scaled down, it was at a good mid point.

You want more than the mid point, you want to ruin the game for people who don’t like scaling in the -first- place.

Yes, ANet, heres a secret:

Alot of us came from games where we had no stat scaling at all, and we were able to 1 hit almost everything in those low level areas.

The situation pre-patch was a good compromise. It would -prevent- people from mobilizing to make sure people who are thinking about the game know full well that it will disappoint them in that aspect if they liked things before.

The current situation only lends itself to gossip and people can be very vocal through many different sources to ensure everyone knows just exactly how little point there is in leveling in guild wars 2. Even with their vast resources, the player base itself would be more effective than anything they could muster at pointing out to their hundreds of pals how pointless leveling in this game is and how weak people feel at lvl 80 in the best gear.

Yes. I earned a statistical advantage and I want to keep it. Otherwise all that time has been -wasted-.

No more standardization to appease bads. I like the thought that my character is strong enough to take on two veteran egg laying karka AT THE SAME TIME.

I worked up to that point, why hold the hands of bads by letting them get their challenge against worms because they don’t have the power to do anything meaningful, and ruin all the time players who actually tried to earn power spent (you already scaled us fine, thank you).

Edit: I wanted to also state that its a poor economical choice to make lvl 80’s get lvl 80 things everywhere. There was ALREADY a disparity in the price of some of the lower level mats simply because noone farmed them so they were rarer. Yep, the economy was already bad, now it will be mega bad.

Yes, which wouldn’t put you far off the normal difficulty of those low level areas. There was already 3 hitting mobs at low level areas for most dps classes.

The scaling uses percentages. You will still feel strong in low level areas. During later levels, you are much weaker than you used to be. That is the problem. Your time spent gaining power has decreased in meaning. In effect time has been stolen from you if you look at it in one way.

It will also help encourage zerg based combat, which we all know is ALWAYS fun.

In essence: Here are some shinies in the new patch, now stare at them while we nerf a few important things that if you weren’t so naive would realize are far more important in the long run.

Thats the game. Its how the romans did politics. I recognize this. I used to use these methods. A wolf recognizes a wolf. Distractions are powerful. If you want to get something accomplished that would displease the masses, hide it between two pieces of candy. The masses are fickle and dull. Their psyches will choose to ignore the bad and focus on the good.

Simple to placate, difficult to anger.

The fact that so many people are so accepting and lax of poor policy, and do not complain, tells me something.

They pretty much accept anything that happens to them, its all good!

I guess learning about world events, doing stuff, trying to get that job.. no point either right? Its all good, bro! Why care or spend time caring? Everything will come to you, and you never have to take the bull by the horns or take action to gain it.
If you accept disappointing things, prepare to be disappointed. Forever.

What will happen then? Excuses…

Really, grow an inner fire, care about things. Even the small ones, because they add up.

I for one am sick of the apologists. Shouldn’t you be politicians and far too busy to play this game?

If a person delivers my meal at a restaurant incorrectly, I do not simply shrug it off and say to myself “Oh, next time they might get it right, I’ll pay anyway.” Likewise, when a patch removes the combat effectiveness of the entire playerbase in 99% of all areas (this is what dynamic leveling adjustments did, don’t sugar coat it), its unacceptable.

The sociopolitical atmosphere has melted away your ability to stand up for what you want. Its depressing and frankly a bit sickening to watch. I am used to nice treatment because of my background, but you deserve it too.

Seriously, if you bought a copy of gw2 and instead were given pong, would you provide the people involved excuses or go get your copy of gw2?

You had a different game advertised to you, and I don’t believe a sweeping nerf to your effectiveness in the near entirety of the game was in the advertisements.

My only solace is that everyone else is weaker too now. If you ask me, they deserve it for allowing them to weaken their character and make grinding for all those items more time consuming. The few outspoken naive have doomed you as well to have less power in the game in -every- area.

The only reason you should be upset is if you actually spent (or are spending) time accomplishing anything, if you haven’t been playing the game or are level 2, you might as well be overjoyed.

Ask yourself, why didn’t they simply add a difficulty slider that changed the way down-leveling worked? Things worked before? Other games have done this with great success. What is the end mission?

You don’t see the overall picture. Look again.
Use those eyes you were blessed with.

The dynamic leveling wasn’t just done in the level 1 areas. Your ability to do everything has been decreased unless it is at lvl 80 and you have no guarantee that it wasn’t decreased in those areas as well.

It will take you longer to do everything.

Unless you are in a zerg. What does that encourage then, my friendly ingénue?

Nice attempt, you forgot your sig is still there though. XD Its a nice touch though just in case people are wondering about your intent.

Some servers are more balanced in time so they have no night while other servers are for regions which span the globe and have allied with the other regions which cover their time zone holes..

NA is a small place time zone wise, while some areas have no night..

So yes, night capping does exist and is typically the result of everyone joining the same servers to be with their friends or region..

Also it would be solved if the lines of battle were drawn upon storyline ideals rather than region.

I proposed this idea a long time ago and it got shot down pretty quick, but I’ll put it out there again. Why not a faction based set of borderlands completely unrelated to the greater wvw where people can just jump in and play on randomly distributed teams. Most of us don’t really care about the overall score, we jsut want to get in and have some fun. It could just be overflows on top of overflows as long as the numbers were equal.

Seems reasonable and fun.

I agree. It would be less boring. I want something storyline significant, not a meaningless excuse to charge for world transfers and divide the community alongside meaningless lines.

I would be more content to murder the other side if they had chosen a different side for an idealistic reason rather than server side reason.

I’m not saying it needs to be Kurzicks vs…

You would need to implement the storyline in such a way that roughly half the players want to be on both sides, and implement tribes style temporary team balance (rewards those who volunteer to switch to maintain balance). It can’t be simple good versus evil.

Many games do this successfully.

Paid transfers: will whole servers be killed?

Yep, paid transfers won’t ruin wvw though, don’t worry.

Wvw ruined wvw long ago when it played like a pre-alpha.

Sorry for anyone who has to stick through it for world completion!

Their only reason to separate servers like this is wvw, a pre-alpha. We could have had better battles where you join a side that has storyline significance.. and we could have had more community. We also could have had the odds evened via temporary team changes (peek at how tribes does it) for balance so the game mode would have been more fun.

Nope, who needs storyline, community or meaningful battles?

Why is wvw great? Is it the spies? Maybe its the times they occupy your server with afk bots to gain a statistical advantage? The exploits? The culling? The fact they try to balance every other game mode around it and end up hurting the enjoyment of those?
Is it the maps? Is it the fact that its fun to explore three additional maps that are all the same where its evident you enjoyed pve.. after all you want map completion right? Hope your server is doing well and not outnumbered 24/7 or against a pact your two enemies formed?

Couldn’t things have been better in some other way? A way where each game modes fans didn’t have their game mode stepped on by the other one?

Get rid of the wvw servers, it just divides the community for boring reasons. Divide it for storyline significant reasons! Let us all pick our server (it works for other games) and pick a side in a battle.. storyline significant side. You know, something that isn’t shallow. It would be cool and fun. Make it possible to switch sides through effort.. make temporary team balancing possible (if a person from the winning side is switched, they get benefits from both.. they have incentive to do well: See the new tribes and similar games).

It would also eliminate alot of the wvw drama.

I agree. They force us to go to wvw aka PVP (its player versus player, do you even remember or have any difficulty against the npcs? No, they are scenery.) for pve world completion, they should be “encouraged” likewise to go out into pve for bundles. It might help fill the zones. I am sick of the double standard from wvw and dungeons.

Dungeons aren’t required for pve world completion yet (comparatively to pve: ugly) clone maps that have no meaning in wvw are. Anyway, I agree, some of the bundles weren’t that bad. The mines and bombs weren’t exactly horrible. The stealth items should stay long gone, but other than that most of the stuff was fun, not imbalanced. They already instituted a hierarchy where people with the most gold succeed due to other mechanics in wvw at their core. Everything else is just fun and games by comparison.

Thank you for doing this, I’ve been using this a while and was wanting a video of people doing it as a proof of concept.

Please don’t remove! Its far too funny to remove!

It might be perfectly balanced though, the damage could be because I am glass cannon. They nerfed other consumables but not this.. Its fine for now. Also it sort of has a clear tell due to the huge golems floating toward you.

I am sure all the reports of golem in a box working in wvw (and thus not being against the rules) are lost in between the reports of all the events to fix skale venom I’ve sent to them. I keep reporting that the event chain is broken in Jade Quarry but they don’t bother to fix it. This gives other servers a -real- edge against us. Golem in a box is nothing compared to 50 people with skale venom vs 50 people (us) who don’t have it.

The Inquest are also developing ways to fight the dragons. Their methods are simply immoral while they are doing them.

Ever wondered why they are in Orr? Yeah, they actually are trying to fight the dragons also because dragons are bad for them too.

Its a bit shady.

I reported the fact that the Jade Quarry dynamic event that allows you to purchase skale venom from Rexavian Redfoot has been broken for a very long time now. A very, very long time, after having been reported.

Why is this a problem? Skale venom is one of the items you allow in WVW and thus the other servers which are fighting against us have an advantage (if the event isn’t bugged for them also).

In many games, server resets happen dailly. These servers want some fresh air.

In many programs, programmers use things called sentinels to check to make sure everything is going smoothly.

Please do a check if an event is stuck in one quest stage for -days- or -weeks- and refresh the event to the default state. This would be a fantastic thing to do logically, and alot of the players would like this. Hiring someone to simply put sentinels in where the other programmers left them out would be the best course of action in this case, due to the vast numbers of the events which are broken in this way.

Please do this, and please restore fair play.

Skale venom and items such as it are nice, they are an interesting idea. You could place a merchant in wvw that sells them always or simply fix the event code. It encourages people to go to other areas.

What is not nice is whenever half the events to get these items are broken and the very idea of a map refresh or simple event refresh seems foreign to this administration.

I think everyone can agree that something needs to be done to ensure these progress blocking bugs do not happen but they will (not to mention it makes it a dead world when so many event chains are broken for weeks). The bugs will happen because they are not being fixed, so please implement a check for how long the quest stage has stayed at one point and refresh the chain to the start if it has. Even if the bugs are fixed, its a good idea to have sentinels and logic checks in your code that prevent blocky progress of things that are supposed to change more often than every 7 days when someone is able to manually restart each event. Its not sensible to do this manually, implement a check please.

Its a sentinel, and they work everywhere else. This implementation would save -everyones- time. It would save staff time, programmers time, players time.

Thank you and I appreciate your shared patience.


TLDR: Please post here in support of adding sentinels to the event code. The programmers will know what they mean if they take time to read this thread (and not everyone is going to read every thread). All you need to know is that it is a solution to the hundreds of stuck event chains and will also save time for ANet staff. So support it!

Assuming they are doing things sanely and have played their game.. they won’t nerf warrior and will simply buff other builds so we have more than hammer/shout/glass.

Our aoe is necessary because we have to be next to our target for it. We’d be a useless class with -any- nerfs on aoe potential. We already have a maximum three targets to hit with a hundred blades.

Not many people use hammer, they should be encouraging variety.

Plus, they haven’t nerfed other classes cough thief cough culling so until they do that it would be unfair and hypocritical to nerf hammer builds. I only use hammers occasionally for lulz as it is.

Racial skills are more about flavor than viability.

This. A thousand times this. Pain inverter is nice for some situations but it is not an elite. Our golem suit looks neat but is incredibly useless. Its actually better to use no elite and just spam weapon skill 1 than use the golem.

When culling is fixed, I already have a build created simply to gank all of the ones that used to use bugs to be annoying. Enjoy WvW dominance. The current situation where people utilize culling bug builds comes at a very large future price. They already stated they found a way to recompile in such a way that they are close to fixing or limiting the culling bug.

Axe has made me moderately rich due to being capable of tagging alot of opponents while healing me in zergs of enemies. Lots of drops. Also the dodge hit. Greatsword whirlwind is great too.

If only ANet would remove the three enemy restriction from hundred blades..

But yeah, it hits lots of things for farming…

Its useful if you ever want to actually get gold.

I use celestial on my t3 heavy along with white gold highlights during the day, or purple highlights.

At night time I switch to black/abyss/anything dark.

I disagree. I have maimed groups of opponents fairly consistently as they clung to their heals and damage mitigation.

Example from today:
I was in wvw doing a skill point, it had me down to 40% health because I had to run past a group of opponents and I was behind enemy lines. I had no time to heal.
4-5 of them decided they could jump me while I was busy. I killed them all and then killed the skill point. I played my cards correctly and they played theirs incorrectly. They assumed it would be an easy fight. I use proc healing, skale venom, and proc healing food as well as other consumables. The might stacking duration as well as healing from criticals basically meant that their worst mistake was this: They stood next to each other in a tight group. Then they panicked when things went down.

Is it possible to stealth tank 5 opponents by simply staying invisible due to culling and kill them all on thief? Yes. There are other classes designed in such a way that you can take on groups and win with alot more ease.. The strengths of my build that I decided to trait (scaling power when attacking multiple opponents as well as scaling healing for each opponent attacked) were all in play.

Glass cannon in itself is not ineffective. It is difficult to excel at it and not everyone should try unless they are willing to learn it. It is easy to have success with other builds, but difficult to excel. You weigh high risk and high reward.. you have to know what you are doing and be willing to adapt. The essence of it is that you have to be able to plan a strategy in seconds and have bleeding edge reflex. Not everyone has this, and I do not recommend glass cannon builds of any class to them.

Every card played right can win you the game. Do whats best with the hand that is dealt to you.

Conditioin Warrior, worth it?

The main effectiveness of it is that it allows you to be mobile and tag opponents. It is effective against thieves specifically because their invisibility doesn’t necessarily remove the conditions you stack. In essence you gain the ability to tag enemies and run.. control the battles pace. The thing is, so can the other builds. Sword needs to be improved.

It is my opinion as a min/maxer who enjoys checking builds and comparing them that the other warriors have some sort of strength and some sort of weakness. Sigil and foods can allow you to cover up the holes and become competitive. The other warrior builds are balanced and other builds such as sword condition damage should be improved to be on the same plain of power. This would improve the amount of viable options as warrior.

Assuming you are using berserkers (mathematically best, if you are going glass cannon):

This is why precision and precision healing foods are introduced. If you don’t have blackberry pie at least 50% chance to heal and sigil of blood on weapon, you are going to have no survivability. This food is very cheap. Well, no survivability unless you dodge, which isn’t always possible. Also switch to ranged every now and then to recover.. volley/bow normal should stack crits and allow for healing via food. Then swoop in and axe/greatsword, back off when necessary. You will stay on your feet. The whirlwind should be used for mobility as well as damage once your might is stacked, to avoid damage.

Thieves have to use these foods as well, it makes sense that if you are both stacking precision and crit chance that the foods catering to that style of gameplay fill in the holes in your build.

Keep in mind omnomberry ghost would provide more survivability, I am just saying you should be able to afford the berry pie because its very cheap.. no excuse not to use it on a glass build. It will change battles and change your upper limit of ability.

Traiting vengeance also is a good tactic. Fight difficult opponent.. get downed.. vengeance.. target close low hp enemy such as a moa (greatsword 5 it to close distance).. you shall be able to kill it within the 15 seconds. Vengeance dictates that you must kill -something- within 15 seconds. It doesn’t specify it has to be the champion you are fighting. You hopefully have not lost aggro on the champion, the cycle then repeats.

This sort of vampiric.. trash mob snacking build, is razor edge. Does shout warrior have an easier time overall? Maybe.. Glass cannon warrior is a high risk high reward playstyle though.

You could also just spec knights (toughness + precision + power) and use all above tactics while being a tank… You will kill things slower but die slower as well and be capable of determining when you want to leave.

When fighting anything that stacks conditions, try to use utility skills that remove or mitigate them. There is no correct utility skill or weapon combination for every opponent when you are playing glass cannon warrior. Every situation determines the optimum gear.. and warrior has alot of gear designed for this purpose. There is no rule stating that you aren’t allowed to use the defensive weapons. You will still deal more damage and have lower hp. Interrupts and complete damage mitigation are your friend against certain glass cannon enemies.

I wanted to point out that the draconic heavy headpiece has more customization on humans. We cannot recolor the horns individually and theres no excuse for it. Its just a missing feature for us asura. Please adapt the game armor to better suit us asura. Charr stuff is huge and detailed and often has nice color selections. The modelers did wonderfully with asura cultural! Please adapt some of the high level armor sets to be nice also. We are one of the more plentiful races because the writers and animators did their job so well. I guess the modelers didn’t expect us to be plentiful (I didn’t expect to see so many asura either), but please fix the draconic helm at the very least. It would look very inquest with the horns golden but we only have two color choices on it whilst others get at least three. It makes no sense that they get more dye options than us on this matter.

Too Many Monsters

Something that would make it infinitely less irritating to move through zones would be a timer on the player that disallows being stunned/pulled/knocked down/poisoned/chilled… unless you are in direct combat. It would just keep the player from being stunlocked to death while simply running past.

Running past a group of risen only to be stunlocked into them with 1/5 hp, have to fight while never having wanted to even be in the area in the first place isn’t challenging, its annoying. I feel the underlying issue is that Anet puts lots of mobs all with control attacks scattered all closely together with large aggro range and no variety between them with no cooldown and with high hp veterans scattered into the mix (high hp doesn’t equal challenge, just longer time spent hitting buttons). Oh, also they are typically way faster than the player because why not give a mob all strengths and no clear weaknesses other than being burst damaged after you are annoyed enough? What do you want? Depth?

Really, running through zones shouldn’t be that annoying. I can’t think of any other game where it was. Nevermind, I just remembered random encounters.. Yeah, it feels like random pop up encounters. It doesn’t even amount to a challenge because I typically burst damage the mobs responsible out of pure rage for them impeding my progress then continue on my path. They amount to speed bumps, and noone likes speed bumps.

Stupidity in the player base isn’t a reason to avoid a solution to our problems! If we give up complexity constantly to make sure that people understand everything up front and hold their hands through the whole experience it becomes uncustomizable and -boring-..

If they messed with the settings, it should be their job to educate themselves on the mechanics enough to hover over the tooltip and read it. Seriously, people are challenged less and less in the modern world and games get rid of features in an attempt to garner the kind of player which.. if they can’t figure out they hid their story quest, honestly have no chance of getting that far in the game in the first place. If they are really that… special… I can hardly see them getting around in the later zones due to not upgrading armor. They’d probably get lost and die repeatedly before uninstalling it and deleting their hard drive. Seriously, we aren’t that dumb. Some of us are asura.

This is not a point and click mmo, they have to learn to level up already. Give us more credit as a playerbase, please.

Please add the ability to hide and show UI elements. Use a nice little graphical “mini UI” in the settings with areas greyed out if you have to.. to make it more strikingly obvious which ones are enabled and disabled. Games such as Tribes do this, and we don’t exactly need to be rocket scientists to figure the settings out. Also, add the ability to disable the experience bar at the bottom of my screen. It is almost never accurate after lvl 80 anyway. Its taking space and I dislike seeing an orange line constantly.

Another interesting idea would be to have a hybrid hidden UI that allows you to hide your skill bars but have an option to show the buttons (along with a cooldown) only when they are on cooldown. Also only show health when you aren’t at full.. only show stamina when you need to. You get the idea, right?

We’d love it, and alot of people are asking for viewer modifications like WoW has. Give us a bone, will yah?

As aforementioned, they’d need to look at the issue of using double sets and balance them accordingly. They have people for that. There are ways to prevent the traits from becoming overpowered such as halving them or statistical dithering.

They actually aren’t that balanced currently anyway, mathematically. The trait lines you trait into rarely happen to be the ones you end up using more often in any sensical build. Certain options are way more viable. On my main, I can use two skills and do everything better with a shorter time frame, higher dps, and more survivability than a diversified ele build because like many an empire, it stretches itself too thin and collapses into itself. Ele need the ability to focus a bit more. Most other classes have it. With the ele, I’d end up using several attunements and skills to accomplish the same thing while also sitting through the long winded animations on the ele. It ends up being a matter of elementalists fighting their user interface more than their opponent.. and so the opponent will win unless a cookie cutter build is used.

Sorry, just being honest about it. Its still fun to play. Just impractical. When I fight elementalists I end up destroying them as they switch attunements and suffer from long cast times or general unwieldiness if they are trying to spread themselves too thin. It doesn’t matter how many guns you have if you can’t fire them all in any reasonable time frame.

I’d much prefer the ability to trait into one of several sub professions using the existing classes. It would simply add new traits and skills according to each type and (sometimes) armor type. Warrior and guardian might have a shared subtype and a differed subtype that is shared with a different profession. This would give us more build complexity while also helping to ensure balancing doesn’t go crazy or lopsided.. and getting rid of the petty sensationalism of new classes. Most of the time companies intentionally imbalance new classes in mmo’s to encourage players to play them and thus spend more money on the game and time.

This makes perfect sense.. not sure why everyone doesn’t understand it.

An attunement changes your five skills. By default, you have 4×5 skills available on your bar.

If you halve the amount of attunements by selecting two while out of combat and then allow weapon swapping…

You still have 4×5 skills. You just gain more overall versatility as a profession and it allows people to specialize a bit more.

I like the idea and it makes total sense, really there is no downside except they would have to make sure that there aren’t any combinations that are too overpowered while using two sets of skills of the same two elements. It would indeed allow better healing as you could have two water attunement bars.. but you would lack the option of two of your elements. Its a trade off.

Really, it wouldn’t effect how things work currently, it would give you more options. Why are you complaining about the concept of more options? I don’t even main my elementalist. I found it to be a bit boring due to the fact that I had such limited control of my build.

The Primeval armor skin eliminates the toes altogether, as do a few other sets. The cultural gives us proper toe covering shoes though, like you said. I think I’ll use the charr dungeon set because it gives us claws.

If it looks weird, they should simply fix it. Not disable it. You don’t toss a sword when its edge is dull, you sharpen it. That solution is just lazy.

They do pay animation staff and other devs.. If a race is lacking a mechanic due to being that race, they should adapt it, not eliminate it altogether.

Is Leveling A Warrior Seriously Not Worth It?

I do 30-40k hb, have no problem rooting classes, and the only trouble makers I get are the culling exploiter stealth builds but they don’t really count as far as I am concerned because they will be forced to roll a skill based build when the culling/balance is fixed.

If I swing my sword while they are stealthed I usually curbstomp them too unless they spec a ranged build AND use culling to stay stealthed the entire time due to game flaws.

Force them to dodge, root, go to town -> root -> go to town. The objective is to make them blow all their skills so you can show your true intention.

Also remember that even though they might be invisible it doesn’t mean that they won’t die in a few hits due to your smacking them hard enough in their predictable movement lines.

Also if you spec proc healing sigil and food you won’t have much trouble being a glass cannon and you won’t need shouts other than for great justice (for the fury).

This won’t help you when they inevitably run away though, and feel free to kill all mobs nearby so they can’t chain stealth off of them. They also make for good food to snack on to regain health. A good tactic is to leave a mob close and if you get downed finish it quickly to snap back up using veng/rock also if you are in a pinch, but keep in mind other builds react in a vampiric manner to mobs as well.

Also remember that you don’t have to be far away to take advantage of ranged dps weapon swaps while other stuff is on cooldown.. root them and weaken them so you can bury them in a swelling wave of maiming.

Hopefully their ensuing weepfest will be hidden by the culling bugs.

The costume brawls would be better if there were more accessable costumes based on leveling scattered throughout the game.. skill tests of sorts with rewards. Events.

This would give the people who buy the proper costume brawls more people to have fun with. I got the witch costume solely to help people with this.

I do however believe adding a costume slot (like in terraria) that could take either town clothes or armor would be great. It would overwrite the appearance of your statted armor.

Won’t happen though, cuz transmute stones cost monies and people would use them less perhaps.

Anyway, both features can co-exist.

I would like to inform everyone just in case they didn’t catch it, alot of the songs use 9 in them and if you are using the unbreakable bell it doesn’t quite work that way. The 5th key is missing during the event stuff so with the unbreakable bell you can translate those songs by taking anything greater than 4 (excluding 4) and subtracting 1 to get your tabs.

So for example, the above posted portal tab part..
