You stated in initial patch notes that:

“Skull Grinder: The damage of this skill has been reduced by 33%. Bleeding has been reduced from 4 stacks for 8 seconds to 3 stacks for 6 seconds. The blast finisher on this skill has been removed. All changes apply to PvP only.”

Please take special note:
“All changes apply to PvP only.”
This is disingenuous.

However, in wvw the blast finisher was removed from this skill. The rest remained unchanged, as per patch note.

Is this intentional?

Please be transparent about all changes so that people can appropriately react to them and be knowledgeable about them when they are made.

Also please list which pvp sigils were removed, etc next time so people don’t have to hunt them down. I spent much longer learning about what actually happened than I should have had to.

If this was not a mistake, skirting around issues and leaving stuff unsaid is bad and should not be done.

Why? Because I can be in the map and then on a mobility thief/warrior not make it to the spawn in time to hit it once, with a ranged weapon. They died that fast when I saw them. It is sheer luck I got as far as I have. Just one left, but just because I am that far doesn’t mean I want to give feedback like: “Oh, absolutely, we’d love more transparent efforts to time gate content so people stay online longer, standing around as map chat slowly morphs into a discussion about other games.” I don’t want more of this.

Meanwhile some champion things that spawn in kessex take comparatively forever to kill and are actually a pretty fun encounter so far.

I am by no means a WoW fan but I heard that they have a new expansion out called Legion. Some people seemed excited about it so I looked it up. Apparently, they are taking the best bits of Guild Wars 2 and learning from them and implementing them, such as wardrobe systems.

Don’t get me wrong, we had it first and I respect Anet because of that, because for the most part this kind of myopic action hasn’t been common.

See though, apparently some people learn from past mistakes and see certain systems as relics of the past and try to improve upon them or move past them.

Meanwhile you are bleedin’ adding special mob camping events as bad as old school PERFECT WORLD. Not even tier 1 MMO relic mechanics anymore. While chasing the shark spawn I had flashbacks to the disappointment that was tideborn.

Git gud. Don’t take a page from the failure days of yore.

Also, shall I state the obvious?

If you DO make a mob that thousands of players will try to kill at once, you MIGHT want to give it enough health to survive all the bursts you have encouraged them to use via equipment and traits.. for more than a few seconds.

(Unless you just want to tell the higher-ups the figures for server login/population from the event, since this is a pretty opaque way of raising that artificially.)

Aaaah, they are all so adorbs!

I’m Sahfiel, and I’m just a lil completely mad asura elementalist walking fortress glacier waif that is totes not from the mad realm or anything. I’ve been told my eyes peer into peoples souls and it makes them uncomfortable. Thats exactly what a Priory spy sent to thwart our plans would say! I wouldn’t know about any lunatic court plans to take over Tyria so that Glorious Leader Mad King Thorn could reign supreme and make every day nice and more festive than the last! Tixx’s golem ship is kinda dreamy too though… Anyway, don’t ask me about any plans to take over Tyria from the Mad Realm cuz I won’t say anything! My lips are sealed. I’m not inept at my endeavors to conquer Tyria for the Mad Realm if I were to try anything like that.. but I wouldn’t because I’m a normal mortal land pig like the others from this horrific realm. What do you think this is, Excel Saga?

Hmm, I bet this city would look much better covered in candy and delightfully spooky things.. nya?

Why am I writing this letter and who to? Anyway, I saw a bad salad over there that I am pretty sure didn’t laugh at Mr Mad Kings jokes when I brought the good news to this jungle… gotta add another to the “Mad Realms Remarkable Weight Loss through Incineration” program.

Anyway, I often stop and shout “photo op” even when things are attacking me.. or dragons are nearby… I can’t help it! It is just so authentic being next to all these things that aren’t from the Mad Realm. We really need to take some back with us so we can make a zoo or something!

Update and bump, apologies!

Maybe PM me skype or something like that if you have this issue still and we can figure out if we have any similar programs or situations. If you don’t have this issue, tell me how you fixed it please!

I am using EVGA precision X16, Nvidia 5362 driver. I used to have windows 7 but I recently upgraded to 10. Upon having issues with guild wars 2, I reset comp on windows 10 so only kept files so it is a fresh install now. Issue still persists. I have reinstalled the driver several times with an NVidia based clean install using their installer. In addition, I have turned graphic settings low in gw2 to see if it was anything.
Precision X states gpu is fine on temp.

The issue: I start game, I can log in to my character that is in heart of the mists pvp area. If I roam a bit, eventually the mouse will turn into a grey mouse with a box around it as if the texture for the mouse was weirding out. Afterward, if I even switch the program to another window the mouse will never return to guild wars 2 visually but will work within the window even though it is invisible. I have not stayed in gw2 longer than it takes for that to happen yet.
I have noticed a small flash of the characters upon login screen sometimes. Not sure if related.


UPDATE: I may have found a solution for this.
I have fixed this problem on my computer as far as I can discern for the moment!

Most likely cause for this issue:
EVGA precision x16 and windows 10 do not play nicely with each other and cause various games to have issues.

Fix: Uninstall precision x16. There are several suitable replacements but I installed MSI Afterburner. The features seem to be relatively close as they seem to be designed on the same backbone (Rivatuner).
Upon installing MSI Afterburner (with no precision X anymore) I was able to get things to work correctly. The verdict is out on whether it fixed other issues.

I am -guessing- the error occurs because evga’s latest version (which it says was built for directx 12 and windows 10) was months ago and windows 10 has only recently had a “full release” which probably caused a lot of changes through updates, etc which rendered the evga software unstable.

I am going to -seriously- miss the feature of precision X that gave a warning sound when gpu temp was out of a custom user defined range on certain games. Made me feel safer. Other than that feature, everything seems to be in MSI that was in EVGA.

So yeah, it is EVGA precision X16 causing your issue if you google this and are having problems with guild wars 2 or other games on windows 10 with it installed. I hope I have helped by doing my civic duty of coming back to this thread and updating this.

Immunity to burning condition

I agree with the fact in the beta bleed now caps at 100 and can go past but gets a ! sign according to people. However, this just means the rift is even more huge between burning and bleed while in a group setting. This is interesting.

I hate to say it but it is a terrible design to invalidate an entire damage type.
We kept hearing that they were planning to incentivize build and stat diversity.
Then… this.

The current metas even existing is due to stuff like this and the (unnecessary) caps on stacks.

1. I would only be ok with this if an entire area granted either immunity to direct damage or immunity to criticals. Would that upset people? It is the same thing, invalidating someones stats.

If this balance pass goes through, I will simply run my immunity to crit ele scepter/focus and hang out at this area 24/7. Prepare for this mechanic to be abused.
I can already 1v3 on such a build but I will be a god now in this new area.
List of stats nullified by my build in this area:

1. Precision (can’t crit in earth form)
2. Crit damage (see above)
3. Burning Condition.
4. crit proc effects IE their food heals, trait heals, trait crit mechanics, etc

Hurray, now you will have to have tons of bleeds and torment or you can just flip a table.

As fun as this sounds, I think it is a nightmare balance wise. A build that was previously balanced (or even easy to counter when facing experienced players) due to its strengths and weaknesses has now been transformed into a demigod due to thoughtless gimmicks.

2. Imagine my bleed warrior and a burning guardian (lets just say there were more people like this) enter this area. I would win by default because their burning condition would be nullified and my condition would still work fine. I want to win by skill and not a gimmick.
3. Conditions are already at a disadvantage for no good reason on structures.
Make structures able to be critically hit and also able to have conditions on them. It doesn’t have to make sense, it is mmo balance. Invalidating stats on some things but not others is frankly a dimwitted decision. Seeing as how Anet are intelligent, thinking people.. you guys are better than this! Does this not remind you of the stability problem from before?

^ Ways to have build diversity. I know I am not on your payroll but there yah go, a person who has done plenty of balance passes on other games advice without even having to pay them.

This heavily incentivizes guards that ignore vitality (main reason for vit is conditions and since they won’t have to deal with a burning condition, even if the enemy uses bleeds.. the condi removal will have one less stack to get rid of before it removes the bleed stack) and condi removal and just stack toughness instead. So this ALSO creates further imbalance between vit and toughness whilst in this area.

Everything else about this map sounds fine but you need to consider the repurcussions.

Alternatives: In the burning area, make stacks of immunity that can be removed like the new stability. These are gained by communing with a statue or something and they have a time out. These ARE usable outside the area and a zerg may choose to stop and stack these. This creates more play while also avoiding sweeping immunity which WE SORTA had the feeling you were trying to remove from this game with the stability change.

Implement a precision statue someplace else that gives a few stacks of crit damage immunity, etc as well.

Make it so fear removes the immunity to falling damage temporarily possibly.. I am not sure about this because it isn’t nearly as imbalanced since people technically didn’t have to trait or stat into killing someone with gravity. Fear is still useful without falling damage and can still do damage in other parts of the map. I hate being feared off of cliffs as much as the next girl. The thing is.. they had to invest resources and time into being able to do such a thing to me and I respect that. The problem with this is that a guardian with a hammer is just as entitled to the knock off kill as the fear necro. In order to balance this, think of the mechanic as terraforming the area for one team to have the same mechanics as a flat field. This balance is geographic not statistic. There is no stat for killing people with fall damage.

Still, try to be like a comedian. If you mess with one group, mess with the others.
I don’t like winning due to gimmicks or total immunity. Sweeping immunity to X already sucked with stability. Don’t revive a dead horse.

TLDR; Cyclical balance is good and that is what they are trying to achieve. However, cyclical balance requires a radial focus. If everything seems to single out one way of playing the game, you end up with no diversity which hurts the cyclical balance in big ways and causes people to get bored of the game faster because they have less room to experiment with new ways of playing. Just… watch Extra Credit.

If there is more build diversity I will enjoy fighting new people more and not automatically know if I will win or lose based on gimmicks. Many people feel this way in the competitive scene. A mechanic should aid gameplay – never overshadow it.

Magg bombs bug path 2 COF.

Please, please, please fix the Magg bug at the part where you give him bombs.
Seriously, it has been there since launch.

What happens? Magg walks to the wall instead of where he is supposed to and stands there. If you have a new group and fail bombs (typically because someone didn’t wait to activate).. during the second attempt he will tend to NEVER accept the bombs and thus require an instance reset.

How to tell if it will happen? He will walk to the wall during the first part where you can activate him and have one foot raised against the wall after the first fail attempt.

Why is this a priority bug? It requires the entire instance to reset, wasting our time and making sure that people have a bad taste in their mouths about guild wars 2 dungeons.
If you won’t add new dungeons, fix the bugs that break things in the ones that are there and are easily fixed! This would be rated a “show stopper” bug.

How can you fix this with minimal development time?
It.. really is easy. I have developed games before so don’t pretend it isn’t. Just add a check to make sure he is in the right spot and if not make him walk there. Make sure he stands away from the walls and in the same spot every time and this will NEVER happen again from what I am able to discern.

Which walls does Magg like to hang out at? He likes to hang out to the left and in the oval shaped part of the preceding hallway. If not there, he will hang out to the right of where he normally would stand. Both times against the wall.

Why should the devs care? Well, lets face it, bug fixes look good on paper and make players happy. That being said, most fixes require alot of work. This one would require -minimal- amounts of work for your fancy bug fix text on the release notes. So, hey, almost free applause! Larger easier to fix bugs should always see priority in development because it is common sense. As a result, I am vexed as to why this bug wasn’t fixed long ago.

Alright, thanks for reading. I think I’ve covered everything. I have read forum posts since launch about this bug so it really should have been fixed more than a year ago. It would have shown up in bug testing if more/higher quality preliminary testing was done before release. Thank you.

Krewe Apprentice Jerr “The Golem” near Apprentice Waypoint in Rata Sum seems to have hit hard times and no longer seems to be dancing. It is a sad day when the joy of dance can no longer be felt by asura across Tyria. It is possible that he stopped dancing out of respect due to the recent events in Tyria. However, I move that it is incredibly important that people look up and enjoy themselves even in the harshest of times, while they still can.

Anet, please give this npc and former fantabulous dancer his groove back. I don’t know if he will need some cheering up or something of the sort.. The music which the crowd seems to be playing on repeat (yeah, smack that repeat button on Zimamp) is fantastic so I am certain that is not the reason he hasn’t been dancing for at least 6 months. The other asura nearby are very supportive and still cheer for him, even though for some TOTALLY not related to animation fix bugs reason.. he just stands there, afraid that he may have lost his groove. He stalls, hesitant to return to his old life of joy, inspiring us to live life to the fullest and always look at the elements of the eternal alchemy that might give us a smile and a giggle.

This is a call for the restoration of the sprawling asura night life of Rata Sums club district. We must regain our groove, for posterity! Also, so new players don’t look at the guy standing and wonder in confusion why everyone is cheering!

Question: If I was using knights and have the 300 healing power alone from the trait line, how much of a nerf have I received to my minion master healing through vampiric master? I checked the wiki and it says it does 72 healing there. I am assuming that is pre-patch info. On my tooltip WITH Bloodthirst active as well, I see a heal of 57. If the wiki info was WITHOUT bloodthirst, then it is even worse. This is more than a 10% nerf if this is to be believed. I would like them to clarify that it was more than a 10% nerf if this is true so everyone simply knows we are getting played for fools if we are. I think it would be dishonest to just say 10% if I have received more than a 10% nerf to the healing portion of the skill.

Not to mention, with the base 300 Healing power it should actually be less than a 10% nerf anyway because it would be (10% – whatever % you get from scaling the 300 healing power).

What actual change did I get? Are the tooltips wrong? Did the base 300 healing power actually benefit me or offset it? All I care about is healing from the trait, not dps loss.

Kinda confused. I would love to know the ACTUAL effective change to healing power with and without bloodthirst.

I need to know the actual % of survivability I lost due to their inherent hate of minion mastery. I would even be glad with an actual 10% nerf if they were to fix the bloody a.i. routing so it would be less pants on head stupid.


I already barely had healing due to the fact minions tend to kill themselves very quickly… not attack.. get stuck on walls… run in the wrong direction. Should I switch to a popular overpowered cookie cutter build that takes less skill to use? It was already a pain to keep the things out long enough to even get healing in the first place.

Seriously, condition damage has alot less viable builds than direct and if you didn’t have a counter to the condition builds – QQ moar rock paper scissors you lose.

Stack some vit or add condition removal or be prepared to lose to a condition build.

It is like how people who complain about zerker are always told to “dodge moar” or add toughness/evades. Guess what? You make a choice when you make a build.

As long as there are multiple sources of damage, it will be fair to need specific counters to each.

Edit: This post was made in the nerf condition damage thread… now it is in the nerf zerk thread. I understand topic merging needs to happen but zerker and condition damage aren’t the same thing, lol. Anyway, I was replying to the people whining about condition damage…..

during your second binds column take 5-= as 1-8 and , and . as the octave switches. This way if you rest your fingers on the 1-8 (aka 5-=) and the thumbs on , and . you can hit each key immediately and easily.

Then, you can just go:
WASD move
E is combat skill 1
R is combat skill 2
F is combat skill 3
X is combat skill 4
C is combat skill 5
shift is dodge
Q is elite
Tab is heal
T is weapon switch
~ is costume brawl
2 3 and 4 are your utility skills
Z to talk to people like in a certain other mmo.

The class skills don’t always make sense using this keybind on each class, but you could move them around. I tend to switch the cclass binds around when I am on mesmer or ele (sorry). You can improvise with extra mouse buttons or similar I am sure.

as a guardian, I made Alt class skill 1 aka virtue of justice
1 is my secondary heal aka virtue of resolve

By doing this, I ensure in combat and in music I have each key at very easy access and the binding makes it feel more like a combat oriented game.

Not everyone will like these specific binds, but you get the idea… if you move the secondary binds over to the side starting with 5, it puts them so far out of normal wasd reach that you can have fun with them while not sacrificing ease of access in combat.

I’d also like this feature. Then I could use my spyro the dragon playlist and have it in the background more often without annoying starting/stopping of the music. Hey, they were good games and the music was just mystical and relaxing.. Spyro music is so perfect for Metrica at the least. Also I threw in some .hack//sign soundtracks for good measure.

I am 100% certain you are aware of these (because a bunch of posts were made about these) but I feel that maybe a reminder would be handy. I have highlighted the MOST important parts for easy reading so you can spend the time fixing the bug instead of reading, for your leisure.

The bloody prince shirt on female asura (at the very least) does have a hole in it that you can see through your character with. It is a fairly large hole and since we paid for the outfit with gems, maybe you could fix that? It kind of is the thing that shouldn’t be in an AAA game. I mean, if you tested the item on each race and simply panned your character in a circle with each one, you would catch this bug in development for a simple 10 minute session of testing.

Also, the grenth hood doesn’t work properly with the legendary weapon, The Juggernaut.
Considering the amount of gems the hood cost and the amount of time/resources required to grind the legendaries in this game, it would be nice if we could fix this issue that was reported many many months ago.

If this bug was a child, it could crawl and would begin to make attempts at walking.
If this bug was a progeny, it could bloody well open the dev tools and fix itself.

The issue is, I am sure everyone remembers: The Juggernaut effect does not apply to the hood, so you either have to choose between your legendary or something you paid for in the gem shop. No, dying the hood doesn’t work because the effect is never the same in each zone and frankly it should have been fixed upon release of the item.
The shiny effect applies to every other piece, except the cloth part of the hood. If it was the shiny part it wouldn’t be as bad! However, the cloth part not matching makes it look tacky.

These are just two of the issues with stuff we paid for in the gem store which have been reported but never fixed.
I am sure many people would appreciate a fix as it -really- wouldn’t take very long, I know this because I have done 3d modeling often and know plenty of people who do it regularly as their job.

I know it has been a long time since halloween, and the cash grab for the grenth hood and bloody prince jacket is already there, so why fix it since people won’t be buying more? Because customers did purchase them and had faith they would be fixed in time. It has been 5-6 months. Please fix these, we would appreciate it.


On an unrelated note, the halo/horns cannot be used in dungeons and really I think they should be allowed in dungeons considering the (surprise) time gated, epic grind for obtaining them, a cosmetic item. I do not think they give us an unfair advantage (some consumables that actually do damage are still allowed in dungeons), I do not think the particles are an issue (we can use them in wvw and pve)… a maximum of 5 possible players could possibly have either a halo and/or a horn in a dungeon. Is it because it would take too long to throw the (probably solitary) item flag in the code that allows it to be used in dungeons or what? We can play our instruments and costume brawl in the dungeon because they are cosmetic. The halo/horns are likewise cosmetic.

I would like to start by saying the voice acting time has done a splendid job in my opinion.

Old voices such as Steven Blum as Rytlok, Troy Baker as Logan, Felicia Day as Zojja, the asura player characters (yes, both of them) as well as new voices such as Debi Derryberry as Taimi (as well as some other npc)… They have all done very well throughout the content and Living Story! Kudos! Bravi Bravi Bravi!

The entire team has shown brill range.
Kari Wahlgren has shown a very large range as well, acting as Caithe, the regal and elegant sylvari character… when she used to play a character that (in my opinion) was very cool on FLCL, Haruko.
I think Wahlgren has done a good job as Caithe, but I would -really- love to see an archetype similar to Haruko appear in the story. Noone could forget this character, which appeared in a terrific yet short anime called FLkittenhink the character style would really, really fit and fill a gap that might be there in the character roster. The character was crazy, yet fun, daring and maniacal. Seeing as how there are many good guys and many bad guys, a character that is more of a roguish neutral may be fun.

A question I would love to ask the VA team is… well.. this might come up alot in development, but I am going to ask this anyway:

Does anyone know Richard Steven Horvitz and/or have the means to contact him about trying to voice act for this franchise?
Invader Zim was a story about a short, egotistical maniacal genius. He killed the voice acting.. and I think if you are looking for more talent to add to the team, he would be a MORE THAN FANTASTIC addition.
I know for a fact that many gw2 and invader zim fans would squeal with delight.
Who wouldn’t?

Think about it: Invader Zim was very short lived compared to the huge amount of fans it had. It ended before its time due to QQ drama, and the voice actor could very easily use his previous talents to play a very convincing asura. I know not -every- voice actor knows every other voice actor, but I know from some interviews that there is a fair amount of community involved in your profession.

Again, I’d love to thank the current voice acting crew and just say that some of the voices that I and others grew up with returning (and changing/adapting their acting to suit the gw2 theme so perfectly, of course) have certainly helped me delve into the lore and story of this game and I very much appreciate it. VA’s like Steven Blum have raised our generation – often without us even knowing it.
If a member of the voice acting team DOES see this, I would simply like it to be known that they have done a fantastic job.

Please, let it be known that I am not saying that I want the exact characters ported to gw2 but I think that similarly used inspiration is healthy if someone is simply good for a role. There is speculation that Taimi and Braham’s relationship had a bit of inspiration from Vanellope Von Schweetz and Ralph from Wreck it Ralph. This is healthy for a story, as long as things aren’t 100% facsimiles. Taimi has gone up in popularity alot, because things were polished from the foundation upward in development.


Do you think Horvitz would be amazing to add as an asura? If you are an asura fan, can you see him playing the role? Have any of the (I assume) currently staffed voice actors done a voice personality/archetype that you think would fit into the game? If you would like, comment below~

I decided to try Fake Wings… It may not be right!
I hope the requester still reads this and sees it..

It was a pain finding tabs that weren’t chords or strange wobbly things I don’t understand.

Works with harp or choir bell or flute… sorta.

Start from either the middle or the top with the first >
Sounds better with choir bell honestly.
My notation for this is press < to go down and > to go up because I have the second key binds set to 5-= and last two are , and . This way I can play tabs and still use some of my more important keys (1-4) for skills, etc.
Despite this, the keys here refer to the finger when your four fingers are on the row starting with 5.. so.. Anyway it doesn’t matter but I like this method of binding because it leaves the thumb to change at the bottom and doesn’t interfere as much with other skills bindings.

Enjoy the tab! Don’t worry about my rant about bindings unless you are tired of having to choose between nice instrument binding and nice combat binding.

I hope that helps people who hate having to use their top row 1-4 keys which are near wasd and perfect for certain skills. I like to play instruments but I also like a combat style binding with most combat binds around WASD so.. shifting the alt binds for instruments to start from 5 helped alot.

Fix it please. Grenth hood is a cash shop item so higher standards are expected. If I can use other hoods and have the effect look appropriate, the one you expect the players to pay money for should also.

Our burst survivability isn’t high enough to outweigh the fact that any enemy that doesn’t stand still always can outrun us as if we were a penguin who forgot to pay off their penguin loan shark and got penguin baseball batted to the penguin knees. Hobbling around like some sort of degenerate failure of applied velocity…

Meanwhile most classes skip around like some sort of ninja ballerina on speed or have alternative options like loldps and lolcc.

Gladly I picked asura so I have the illusion of being a bit faster. If I was a huge race snailing about… I’d probably gouge my eyes out with sporks when going from point a to point b, out of boredom.

I stopped doing daillies once I got my ascended stuff and they made them more annoying to complete.

I feel free.

A game shouldn’t feel like a job, I spend my time having fun in gw2 rather than meaningless stuff. I make my own objective for the day. If I feel like playing warframe or another game, I can. I am not trapped into spending that time on daillies.

Hello, this is me, Person McNormalton. I think the horns are a legitimate method of playing the game and are not nearly loud enough for us to color the world with the lovely hues of SOUND. Please make them louder so that I can enjoy the beautiful music all the time. If I could somehow let these horns start my launcher when I am sleeping in the night so that I could wake to the sound of HEAVEN, I would. Also, I think those people with the horns should be able to move while playing them. Also they need electric asuran guitars.

Think of the childen! We need more instruments, and make them last longer than an hour. Maybe eleventy-bazillion hours.

I think these new additions are swell! Fun for the whole family.
I took junior to see the horn players and golly we had a terrific time we sure did. They played all of our favorite songs with perfect accuracy. I can’t imagine how anyone here would think that these horns didn’t sound like the best thing ever.

Binding 'dodge-jump' on programmable mouse?

What about.. CTRL + Key as the activation for dodge jump? Would that not be allowed because two key presses achieve two key presses but the programming causes the presses to occur at a specific time? I have no clue, haven’t researched their policy since they disallowed Combat Mode.
Anyway, I can do the dodge jump if I try but if hardware is preventing this for some people I can see why they’d want to be able to do that. 2 keys being held = 2 key presses being done at a specific time seems as if it wouldn’t violate the policy.

I have the title easily and didn’t -have- to dodge jump at all and as Josh Foreman has said there will be no jumps which require it. I don’t think risking it would be cost effective.

But Permanent SAB is not the answer, 30 days is plenty.

Would 30 days of WvW be plenty?
Would 30 days of Fractals be plenty?
What about the people who have no time to play this month?

Those were designed with the word “permanence” in mind, SAB wasnt and if they wanted to make it permanent they would have to redesign a proper reward system, which I dont think they will soon. If anything and Arenanet agrees to make it permanent, they will take it off after the 30 days and bring it back again in a few months when they have more weapon skins ready, more zones and a redesigned reward system.

If you read the reddit feed the original intent of the creator Josh Foreman was for this to be permanent but his superiors told him it would be temporary, which saddened him.

So yes, it was designed with permanence in mind.

So much bitter hipster fleeting moment idealism garbage. A game is not assisted flight. Streamlining it offers no solid benefit when done to such an extreme degree. We don’t need to worry about content bloat any time soon, trust me. ;D

Why do people find it necessary for states to decide what is right or wrong, for devs to tell you when to do this or that.. etc?

Think for yourselves. Its actually more “deep” and thoughtful to want options and simply practice restraint if you feel you will become addicted and burn out.
Some people call a wilting rose a temporary and transient beauty. I call it inefficient.

Next April, most of the same “too much causes burnout” idealists will not feel more fond of the box, but recall it as old content and because of the fickle nature of this type, ignore it mostly. Ironically, they could get burnt out permanently because they felt obligated to do it this month.
It would be “like, so last year”.

The game lacks content, why take away content so people can pretend to be on some moral high ground where they believe life needs “just enough spice” yet don’t realize that if the amount of spice in life isn’t your choice then it is meaningless puppetry of circumstance? Thats a play with strings, puppetry, a practice in futility with no risk or choices.

More options, more depth, less hipster minimalist idealism. It speaks volumes that many people enjoy this and have stated its the most fun they’ve had in game -ever-. This is a community starved of variety. So much of the current content is centered around making us do the same content over and over to chase the fleeting light at the end of a tunnel. Put down the fishing pole and let the twinkie chasers eat a twinkie for once.

A games “fun” premise should not be based around long-term starvation and occasional rewards where you do things in a linear pattern akin to a childrens story book.

Also, its perfectly acceptable to equate it to a dungeon. Most dungeons are a breeze and this one at least offers an occasional challenge.

The purists are just.. rampant in this community. Rampant. I blame sedentary social norms where its easier to have something decided for you than make the decision yourself.

Pacing should be left to the player and not the calendar. Novelty is at its utter best, pitiful novelty. A shallow trade for depth and variety.

Edit: Also I think some people watch too much batman. Batmoto isn’t the hero tyria-gotham needs, but he is the hero it deserves. Hurrr.

Well not having it increase is an indication. Having 260 but it only displaying 250 is an indication. Not seeing new ones add to your bag is an indication. And the FAQ for the SAB said that you couldn’t get more than 250 in your ‘wallet’.

The FAQ hadn’t been posted on the feed at the time and it didn’t display 250, it displayed 262 or however many I had at the time. As I said, I ran around metrica and gathered more than 250 baubles before going in. Tons of people did this and were wondering if it was just a bug in the system because they had gathered their baubles elsewhere first.

Anyway, glad they added it to the FAQ but there should be a clearer in-game indicator because not everyone reads the website constantly and people certainly weren’t able to read a guide that didn’t exist yet.

I think moderation is best here. The glow as it stands is too apparent.
Without glow, it would get rid of the excuse for their existence (holographic projection).

If you tone down the glow to a subtle level, the results would be polished.

Just run around metrica and grab boxes for baubles to buy continue coins, or play world 1 and buy continue coins to farm it with the baubles you get.

Periodically is not enough. The player base wants this to stay and is having fun with it.
You don’t simply put something as fun as minecraft in the game and expect people not to love it and want it to stay around.

Its just.. the pioneering, rational business step to leave it in and let it be Rata Sums mini-game at least until polymock is out(really, I prefer this anyway and see no reason two mini-games can’t coexist).

Make it permanent.

There is no reason this content should be temporary as it is not xmas or halloween holiday based. Asurans make things, the game is fun and different.
The chests might need to go at the end of april but other than that the game is within its own mythos and can be kept.

This game needs more content to compete with other games. Simple.

Also, the dev stated he wanted it to be permanent and was sad it wasn’t.

NCSoft, making it otherwise goes against the game objective as stated months ago.

How to make solo leveling a guardian fun

I have to agree, knights is awesome. Vitality is used once and then is dead weight.. It goes faster without toughness and really due to our healing nature survival is a game of in-out rather than just having a bigger health pool. Knights allow you to survive longer and in a more meaningful way. The given vitality in ptv effectively becomes nullified and useless mere seconds into the fight, mathematically. Thus, if you fight anything except glass cannon trash mobs, knights is the way to go.
Due to our passive and active healing + protection (if your build has access to this), toughness makes each hitpoint more meaningful and synergizes with healing. You gain longevity at the cost of vitality.. but in reality ptv doesn’t give as much toughness. The proc healing is also gone because precision is not in ptv. Precision is a splendid stat on guardians because we can use it offensively and defensively. If you stack every kind of proc critical healing and knights gear, you will do decent damage while being able to survive extended melee encounters (champions… bosses, any enemy that matters) and still do enough damage to trash mobs that you become very flexible.

Conditions hurt though, but you are a guardian so.. our health is going to be low either way and we have condition removal.

My suggestion, use zerker/power statted gear to level (just to make killing stuff faster.. you don’t need to invest in gear because its better to level out of your gear fast anyway), then at 80 try knights and healing traits such as AH, proc healing food, proc healing sigils, maintenance oil, hammer + symbol healing. Hammer chain is defensively
what hundred blades is to offense.

I have solo’ed alot of level 80 champions.. champion orrian giants, champion contender, champion icebrood kodan, etc. It becomes a very fun class to play because you can do amazing things… It just takes a while since our dps isn’t -stellar-.

How to make solo leveling a guardian fun

I had a human guardian (hahaha zealous blade made me ragequit.. 30 hp per swing is so ridiculously bad) and deleted it, made ranger, got bored, made warrior, realized guardian can solo expert level content via tanking better and made an asura guardian. I did not feel like leveling a guardian again the slow way.

If you can find a server that has dedicated farmers and courteous people who will not intervene.. (unlikely..)

Harathi north-east has a chain that you can use to quickly level. Pop killstreak + halloween food (preferably the regen food, halloween foods give 15% extra kill exp),
then equip staff and spam 1 to tag every single thing. If you do it right you can get a ridiculous amount of exp at the part at the gate alone.. several bubbles worth.
People also use maw, kessex and bloodtide coast.

I leveled to 80 on my guardian in 4 days of casual playing this way and it could have been much, much faster. The problem is that people fail to fail. The modniir offensive strength has to stay above 50% in order for the event to fail and reset to 3 minutes. Otherwise you end up waiting like 45 minutes. There are other spots you can use as well but I would go do other things/go to the event chain in harathi when it pops using a timer (roughly 30 minutes after the final boss is defeated if they succeed event).

Alot of people farm it without realizing how it is supposed to be done. Alot of people just want to complete the event chain, can’t blame them. Its inefficient, but thats their choice. If you can find a server that is doing this chain correctly you could level an army of alts.. quite fast. The drops I got were plenty to buy celestial/abyss when sold and tp’ed, much better income than normal map completion style of leveling.

Anyway, because they will probably succeed the event(I got lucky), you can do other things during the event recharge.

Alternatively, if you have friends and know how to do cof 1 speed runs/any dungeon..

Use a level 80 main to do dungeons, switch at last boss (run your lower level to the dungeon, you can enter if you are in the zone, no level cap). Dungeons reward 70% of levels experience so you can get alot of gold and exp doing cof 1.

Keep in mind leveling that way has the drawback of being lousy for map completion…
However, I prefer to go back at level 80 and do map completion like I am doing now.. its just so slow on guardian compared to warrior. The better gear and level helps it go faster.

Stat full zerker gear (even if you plan to be a tank at 80) and do dynamic events with zergs many levels above you. The orr events are ripe for the picking since all you have to do is enough damage with staff 1 to tag the opponent. Staff guardian is the best way to tag mobs of opponents in the entire game. Period. There will be plenty of people around to take hits and deal the rest of the damage. You need to be around 10 levels within the chain you use.

When you hit level 75, just cof 1 a few times. Its ultra fast and you will practically be 80 immediately.

As far as making the experience fun if you don’t feel like doing it faster since we take forever to kill things and get from point a to point b…

You can use a sword/focus timing build to blind the opponent at strategic times to make them miss every attack. You use torch already but.. lighting stuff on fire takes a while to get boring. You can use a symbol + AH might stacking hammer build to remain tanky against champions which blindness is less useful against.

Wall of reflection is just hilarious against any glass cannon enemy such as karka when they use a ranged attack: You can let the enemy do all the hard work of killing themselves for you. When you get to 80, use it against karka for hilarity to ensue.

Its fun to play the prankster as guardian, really.
